Great unit for doing difficult rework. With the .5x objective installed you get around ~6.5 inches of working distance. This unit has a lot of mass and is very stable. The optics are great and focus tracks very well throughout the magnification range. This is an amazing product for the price. The same quality instrument sold from jewelry supply houses sells for three to four times this price. It is great for engraving, stone setting, inspection, watch repair, basically anything that is hard to see. It makes your finger print look like the grand canyon with a little river running in the ravines between the print lines. The LED bank provides better than expected visibility. This product comes with the adapter lens, but they don't tell you that, so do not buy the other lens. The only negative is the plastic adapter ring that holds the LED assembly to the lens. If you bump the light, it pops off. A dab of epoxy on the threads will make it last a lifetime. If someone from the factory is reading this, You need to make it out of metal! Item arrived in a timely manor packaged well with no damage.
The description read Cherry "finish" hardwood so I did not expect Cherry wood and the stain color did match the Cherry tables and wood chest of drawers in the room. The problem I had was with sheen of the finish. The picture showed the wood finish to be full gloss or semi-gloss which would have matched the other furniture in the room however when it arrived the finish was "dead flat"and this looked awful and out of place. The solution for me was to lightly sand all of the wood and apply two coats of semi-gloss varnish. With this done the entire globe came to life and looked great.

This globe is easy to assemble and has a nice solid wood foundation. I felt that Replogle is asking a bit much for the price, but was fairly happy. My globe has a few small areas where the latitude and longitude lines do not line up perfectly (which is why the four stars) but the defects are fairly small and hard to notice. the actual board is made of large puzzle pieces putting them together was the first thing our son enjoyed at age 2.5 (though all the pieces seem to have the same exact size, so they don't have to be in order to fit)
no need to know numbers; the die has different colors, so as soon as your child knows colors, you can introduce this game
our son likes to play it at age 3; he now understands taking turns and how to advance the pieces
If I had to pick on something, it would be that the game clearly leads to a winner, which may not quite be age appropriate. We usually play it without keeping score.

Best Sing & Discover Piano Deals
I bought this toy for my friends daughters first birthday and it was at our house for about a week before we gave it to her. In that time my 3 month old daughter fell in love with it as well.
This is a great piano with a lot of different things to explore and play with. There are 5 keys which have a different color, animal and musical instrument represented by each key. It has a drum and sound effects joy stick as well as a karaoke microphone! There is a little dog that moves back in forth to time with the music who is "the leader" of the band.
There are different modes of play with this piano as well. When one mode is chosen you play the keys as its a piano. Another mode allows the name of the color of the key to be said as well as the animal and the type of sound the animal makes. Then another mode plays the style of music represented by the instrument on the key. You have classical, jazz, country and an island type jamaican tune with a few others. The drum counts each pat you make or just acts as a drum. And the sound effects joy stick and karaoke microphone are just too much fun!

There are lots of lights on here to interest a younger baby. My daughter just loved to listen to the music and watch the lights. I think they should change the reccomended age on this toy to a younger age. Even if your baby cant sit up on her own you can hold this toy with her on your lap and they will like to explore it and look at it. As they get older they will get more interactive.
A fabulous toy at a great price. And the music sounds good too which is a plus!

Features auto shut-off after inactivity to preserve battery life, but can be switched off to prevent accidental activation, etc. 2 volumes (I think the lowest is loud enough, and could be just a bit quieter, but still, I haven't gotten annoyed yet because of all the variety.)
Bottom Line: This is the most action-packed electronic toy out there and at a very good price too. It is the only one of its kind that you will need, and you do need it.

I purchased this toy for daughter in the exchange of one gift toy. My daughter couldn't stop playing it in the store. So I had to buy it. She enjoys it everyday. She dances on the music. If the music stops, she plays one more key and again the new music starts. Drum is a very good idea. She plays that too. I'm sue she will start counting with that soon. I would recommend this toy to anyone who loves music. This is 100% worth the money. I purchased this item for my baby's 1st birthday, and also for my god child's 1st birthday. They both love the sounds, lights and movement of the dog. My daughter loves that she can hear her own voice on the microphone. My 12 year old son even enjoys playing with it, with or with out his sister. My daughter, who is 22 months, still loves this toy that we got for her 1st birthday. It drives me nuts though. She pulled on the microphone some and after a while it got so staticky that you could barely hear the music! I exchanged it for another (would have returned it, but didn't keep the receipt) but the same thing happened with the second one. She doesn't even pull the microphone anymore, but it's still a static nightmare. I can hear her bringing it down the hall crackle, crackle, craaaaackle, craaaaaack! Review of Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer Tunes Microphone
I am so disappointed with this toy. I have never written a review this harsh, but this toy is basically a cheap piece of junky plastic. It doesn't work well. You have to practically put the ball section into your mouth for the voice amplification to work, and even then it functions very poorly. Bystanders might notice a slight voice amplification, but the user can't tell it at all except for some static sounds. Of course, my 3-year-old granddaughter wants to be able to hear her own voice being amplified when she sings into it. There is a button to push to hear Dora sing, and that works fine, but we bought this for the microphone part. I know the other reviews here on Amazon are 5 stars, which is why I purchased this toy, but I now notice that none of the previous reviews are Verified Amazon Purchases. That's all I have to say about that. My advice...don't waste your money on this.

Gave it to my grandaughter for her 2nd birthday. As soon as she opened it she became the life of the party. We didn't even know she would know how to hold the microphone but she did. As many of the other reviews have stated the microphone part of it is not the best quality. It does produce a lot of static and your mouth has to be right over the top of it to hear yourself. Dora's voice and the music is also really loud. A volume control would have been nice. The thing is the kids don't care about any of these complaints. Dora's songs and music are great. Discount VTech Dress and Discover Friend
This little monkey is very cute but also very loud and attention-seeking (you know the type of toy; he keeps calling for more play time if he feels neglected for even a moment ha). There is an "off" button but no volume control. If I were rating him as a mom, I would deduct a star for these reasons but as I'm reviewing him on behalf of my 2.5 year old, I'll leave him with his 5 stars as she loves his songs, the ease with which she can change his outfits, his catchy songs, etc. He is great for reinforcing colors, refining motor control, modeling good manners ("please," "thank you!") and following instructions. His red hat has to go on a certain way to stick (side-ways, sort of -my husband had to show us), but that's no deal breaker. A bonus is that his shoes are connected, so there's no way to lose one (it's all or nothing!). If your baby likes this, she (or he) might like the Minnie Mouse kit I think by Fisher Price? where you can dress Minnie by clicking in her (slightly more pliable) plastic dresses, hats, and shoes (which are also one piece). This monkey is a great alternative if you're looking for a more gender neutral (and louder?) option and to be honest, the monkey has been more engaging for my toddler because of the music. We've only had him for two days so I'll update if this changes but she's truly been very excited by this little guy and sits playing with him for long stretches of time (i.e., more than 15 min!). We bought him for twelve bucks and change, so might be worth waiting for a sale although I do think there might be a limited window where he'll be interesting to a toddler (and at 2.5 years old, I think my daughter will probably outgrow him within the next month or two).
I have one complaint though: I would love to be able to buy extra pieces of clothing for it. 8 pieces is fair enough for a start, but I quickly started to wish that there were more pairs of shoes, glasses, a cap, etc. Not only because it would be more fun for the child, but also because when the monkey says it needs its green shoes to go out, I am not sure if my baby puts whatever pair of shoes she finds on, or if she actually would make a difference between a green pair and a red one. And since this toy aims at teaching the name of pieces of clothing, why not do a more complete job at it and bring extras to the table?
A suggestion for VTech: I am not usually a fan of 'girly toys', as in general I prefer unisex toys. But for this one, I am sure girls would love a girly version of the toy, because they would be able to understand when it is appropriate to wear a dress and when a more casual outfit is best. And actually, a girl monkey would have the advantage to be able to wear a dress or a skirt as well as shorts, which would give baby the opportunity to learn about clothing for both sexes.

I bought this monkey for my 18 month old for christmas, he has not gotten a chance to play with it but his dad and I have!! It is very fun and teaches alot. Daily life skills, colors and more. It also sings songs according to what he has on. For example he will say put on my yellow pajamas and once it is put on he will say thank you and then sing a song about pajamas and say goodnight. Wooden Shape Board Review
It's a great toy! Good quality, good size, good color and shape. Made in Thailand (I'm crazy about "made in China" toys). The size is 7.5" x 7.5". The smallest figure is 1.5" and the largest is 2.3/4". My daughter 20 month years old love it. I planned to buy HABA shape board, but after research I decided to buy Voila. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Clipo Creativity Table 100 Piece Gift Set by Playskool Review
Fosters creativity, hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills at a basic level. Can be further used to learn or further develop either color matching skills and pattern recognition and formation by building/stacking pieces in a pattern formation. We personally aren't quite there yet but hoping to be with further use of this toy and others. It arrives and is exactly as shown in photo ad, so it is exactly what you can expect it to be when you decide to purchase this toy. If you are considering it for a child I would say go for it, it is a simple toy table that allows children to use their imagination and build creations! FYI our daughter & son like when we take pictures of their cool built structure creations, so it is a way we have been saving their work (and also been doing this with some of their artwork to ensure safekeeping & without the storage hassles we typically face). We found one of these for our 9 month old at a garage sale. She is 18 months now, and has enjoyed pushing pieces together, pulling them apart again, moving the gears, and sorting the pieces intothe storage buckets. We have hosted several of her cousins, ranging in age from 12 months to 3 years of age, and they have all enjoyed the toy so much that we have more to send them as gifts. I was excited about the Clipo table when I saw it on TV, but we were pretty disappointed when we bought it. The blocks don't really stick together well, so anything you make falls apart almost instantly. The table didn't do much to make them more fun either. How can you spin a creation that just fell to pieces? My advice is to buy the classic bristle blocks or Krinkles instead of these. I bought this for a "Little Brother" (Big Brothers/Big Sisters), to give him a chance to learn about electronics. He is only 13, so building projects together is a must.
I used similar tools for serious product development many years ago. This uses the same basic technology for wiring together components, transistors, and integrated circuits, and has many projects from very simple to very complex. I believe it will provide my little bro many years of fun.
I recommend this for older teenagers with less supervision, or for younger teenagers with some supervision and joint effort. I think it is a little too challenging for must early teens by themselves (unless they are unusual).
Definitely worth the price. You should have seen his face when he opened it! You should have seen his face when the first project worked! And the second... :)
