Sculpting is ok but not scientifically accurate. Painting needs customizing for a less "factory" look. Not all parts fit easily.

Parts come loose in the package during transit and some of the paint gets dammaged.

Probably good for careful patient children, otherwise, maybe not.

I've used the standard rectangular flash cards and never liked them--all those cards to mess with, and they always seem so disorganized (maybe it's just me!). I am delighted to report that these cards are fantastic--easy to use, easy to store, fun for my kids, and ORGANIZED! By that, I mean that (for example) the +2 card has all the -2 facts on the back, and the answers to the front are clearly visible on the back. The round dial works smoothly and is durable with proper adult supervision, making these by far my flash cards of choice! I also bought the multiplication/division set and have been equally pleased with those. Thanks, Trend, for thinking outside the "box" and offering a more "rounded" approach to flash cards!

The idea of math practice with the wheel is good. The portability is good because you can take a few wheels with you in case there is something specific to practice. As far as durabilty it is thin cardboard so it all depends on how much care you take. I think the price is expensive for what it is. I paid almost thirteen dollars and yes even though it is a wheel it still serves more or less the same as flashcards which are 1/4 the price. I wouldn't recommend this product simply for the price factor. For that price you can buy some cubes and rods and teach hands on math.

Looks like I'm the first to comment. I haven't seen this toy/book in the stores but was really intrigued by the idea of moving the book around to play with it when I saw it here on Amazon. It's basically like a motion sensor in the book and you move or knock on the book to work your way through the "story". I'd say it's really more of a set of events than a story, but for this age it is probably about right.

Cutting to the chase here, my son took a few minutes to figure out the page turning button, but once he got it he really loved it! We sat together and knocked, shook and tilted the book to trigger sound effects for each page together. What was really great was that he kept playing with it on his own. Even though he is too young to read, he still goes page by page, interacting with the book like he is reading it and showing us how it works. I don't know that I've seen a book that worked with movement like this before, but I don't get out to the toy store very often. If this is the first, I hope to see more!

We were so hopeful about this kit, but the activities are actually a bit lame in person. The instructions for making your own fossil dig have you making not nearly enough plaster/sand to actually cover the dinosaur. "Use this clay to make pretend teeth" doesn't really live up to the potential. And the wooden dinosaur is more fragile than first grade fingers seem ready for (or adult fingers-not easy to remove). The kit says there are pictures online to better see the finished wooden dinosaur, but so far, it's just a small version of the single picture on the kit. A bit more hints or instructions would help the younger set. I'm very disappointed in this and expected better from Scholastic.

My 6 yr. old loves science. We've been using The Magic School Bus kits as our science curriculum for school. He begs to do it everyday, doesn't get bored, is attentive and actually retains a lot of information we learn from the kits. The kit includes activities that he can do himself (he can measure things and mix ingredients); the material in the kit is easy to clean up, so I don't have to worry about damaging clothes or my house; and there's enough material that if he wants to do the activity a second time, we can.

We are also part of a group with home school families where he participates in a science class with other kids his age. I often hear him saying, "I remember doing this!" and than giving the answers to the teacher's question. It's amazing we can have fun and gain an education, too!

I bought this for my son before he was even born and now at 21 months he still loves it as much as when I first gave it to him. My son is very interested in music and really can't get enough. Baby Tad plays all his favorite songs and has helped to teach him his colors and shapes as well. Each time one of "his songs" plays, he looks at Tad and then at me with this huge smile and big laugh to say "he knows MY song"! It's a great all around toy that will not only bring lots of laughs and giggles to your little munchkin but also teach them new skills! My baby girl has loved "Baby Tad" since she was three months old. As an infant they love to watch the lights and listen to the sweet songs it plays. Baby Tad has the sweetest voice and cutest face, which both appeal to baby. Whenever baby is fussy, when I bring out Baby Tad, she just smiles and hugs him. My little one is now almost eight months old and this is one of her favorite toys. When my 2 1/2 year old neice comes over, she goes right for Baby Tad and carries him around the house all day. Bought this for my child's first birthday. He loves the songs/lullabies and the flashing lights. Helps children recognize shapes and colors and speaks to them. The volume has two different adjustable settings. It's a nice, educational, soft plush toy and I think Tad's cute. I love LEAP FROG products.

This has been a big hit with my 6yo, especially the Fireflies Aglow game. She likes catching the light beams, then tossing them at the lightning bugs to make them light up and be happy again. She has to light them from top to bottom, or left to right. It utilizes her fine motor skills and I'm sure will help develop her writing.

There is also Flower Blooms which is a memory and pattern game, and Skate on Water that is tracing shapes. The creative games are making a fairy house, fairy sounds and photo fun if you have the Innotab 2 or 2S. She can take a pic with a leaf on her head or other fun things. Then, of course, there is the story which my daughter likes, too.

I like that there are two settings for the games, so when she masters the easy level, the fun isn't over. It is recommended for ages 5-7, but my almost 4yo can try out the easy levels of the games and not get too frustrated. This is definitely the favorite of the 3 we purchased, VTech InnoTab Software Disney Princesses and VTech InnoTab Software Hello Kitty, too. I'm really glad we made this purchase, and would definitely buy it again.

My daughter is 3 so this game gives her a good challenge and I'm already seeing an improvement in her reading comprehension and vocabulary. She loves the dictionary and the animated ebook makes it for fun for her. As a father, I love the fact that fun and education are going hand in hand is this game. In my opinion I think this is a great games for girls.

I got this to use with the paperjamz guitar for my five year old...the strap works well. I wasn't impressed with the guitar but I thought the strap was well made. My 8 year old had some birthday money left over and suggested we do some research on the internet for spy gear. After an exhaustive search he decided on the micro kit. He was not disappointed. Everything worked right out of the box with the exception of the motion detector which needs 4 triple A batteries and a small phillips head screwdriver. The best tool is the night spyer as the magnification works very well and the red spotlight is cool looking. The motion detector is a little too sensitive as it went off without much (and sometimes nil) motion. But better to be too sensitive then not to work at all. The spy listener worked well also as my son stood in his room and whispered and I could hear him perfectly. Without the spy ear I could not make out a word he said. The voice scrambler was very cool also. Although the sound is tinny it doesn't really matter as you use it to alter your voice anyhow (it also alters the speed of what you say). The belt holds everything conveniently and clips securely. Is it durable? If you throw it around or step on it, it won't last long. But with some care it should last. I didn't feel that it was shoddily made. If you consider that you get 4 really great spy tools it is definitely worth the money. Your child will not be unhappy.

This belt kit brings together 4 toys that are in other package deals or available separately, but at a better price here. And the waist belt is really nice, with a special slot clip for each item; it is adjustable and is a nice durable nylon webbing material. We have had no problems with it or the belt clip. You can also wear the belt over your shoulder like a bandolier, and it look really cool to the kids that way. You can see separate reviews at Amazon on each of the separate 4 toys that are on this belt. They are the Micro Voice Scrambler, Nightspyer night Mini-Scope, Spy Motion Alarm and Micro Listener, and I have to tell you this belt gives Batman's utility belt a run for it's money. A reviewer had problems with the motion detector, but ours has worked really well over the last year.

The "Micro Voice Scrambler" is one of the kids favorites, it is great for playing on the phone, or just goofing off with each other and it is nice to hear them laughing so hard while they play with its settings. It not only changes the tone, but the speed of the voice so you can sound deep and slow like Darth Vader, a robot voice, or a baby voice, or the chipmunks high speed voice. The "Spy Motion Alarm" works good, it can be placed anywhere you need an audible alarm to let you know if the enemy is coming. The battery lasts a long time, and a tiny red LED on one side lets you know if it is on. It has a range of about 20 feet for detecting motion. The spy micro listener allows you to hear footsteps and whispers over 30 feet away. The "Nightspyer night Mini-Scope" is basically a set of mini-binoculars with a hidden pop-up flashlight. This toy is the weakest of the 4, and is more for pretend action than anything else. The other 3 actually do what they say and are very worthy little gadgets.

The toys are durale and none have broken in the year we have had it. Spy Gear sells other toys like the Micro Scope that have their own clip built in, and so you could add it to this belt. All of these are great fun for hours of spy play, camping, or just backyard fun and the price is right.

I got this toy about a year ago at a target. It is so much fun because it has a cool belt that you can wear instead of having to carry around all 4 devices.

I rated the fun of the toy only 4 stars because I can't seem to find all the devices. I think that is just my problem.

I rated the toy's educational value 2 stars because it taught me nothing except to buy more spy gear.

I rated the durability of the toy 5 stars because it is very durable.

I rated the toys overall category 5 stars because it is a lot of fun when I have all 4 devices together.

Now I am going to tell you about all of the devices.

The MOTION SENSOR is my personal favorite because I can see if anybody is entering the room I am working in. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is that it is very loud. Somebody will know you are in there by the noise. I wish it just lighted up!

The VOICE SCRAMBLER is a basic recorder except that you can move a lever and your voice is scrambled.

The SONIC EAR is a thing that magnifies the sound into the headset.

The LASER BINOCHULAR is the dummest and last thing in the set. It has a fake laser and it has binochulars built into it (with only one view hole).

The SPY BELT is the most conveniant thing. It has a compartment

for each device.

Overall, it is an awesome toy! If you take my advice, you will leave this computer wanting this toy.

This toy is great! The NIGHT SPYER really works well. It can see in even the darkest places. The detector is nice and sensetive [and loud....], and it sounds even when there is a little bit of light. The voice changer lowers your voice, but besides that, it works great. The listener is the best thing in the micro kit. You can hear voices from REALLY far away, and through walls. The durability of this toy is ......ok, but it won't last long if stepped on or dropped. The educational value is bad because there is nothing educational. But it is SO MUCH FUN! Buy this toy! You won't be dissapointed!

We are going on almost a year of having this spy kit, and my two boys are still playing with them. It is a hit with all their friends.

The voice scrambler is the best of the gadgets. It really works. The motion detector has also gotten a lot of use.

The only gadget we have had troubles with is the listener. The kids have to remember to turn it off. If you forget and accidently leave it on for a day, the batteries are dead.

Anyway, this is definately a kit that gives you your money's worth of play. I'm glad I bought it.

I bought this toy for my friends daughters first birthday and it was at our house for about a week before we gave it to her. In that time my 3 month old daughter fell in love with it as well.

This is a great piano with a lot of different things to explore and play with. There are 5 keys which have a different color, animal and musical instrument represented by each key. It has a drum and sound effects joy stick as well as a karaoke microphone! There is a little dog that moves back in forth to time with the music who is "the leader" of the band.

There are different modes of play with this piano as well. When one mode is chosen you play the keys as its a piano. Another mode allows the name of the color of the key to be said as well as the animal and the type of sound the animal makes. Then another mode plays the style of music represented by the instrument on the key. You have classical, jazz, country and an island type jamaican tune with a few others. The drum counts each pat you make or just acts as a drum. And the sound effects joy stick and karaoke microphone are just too much fun!

My friend said her daughter loves to play with the microphone to sing.

There are lots of lights on here to interest a younger baby. My daughter just loved to listen to the music and watch the lights. I think they should change the reccomended age on this toy to a younger age. Even if your baby cant sit up on her own you can hold this toy with her on your lap and they will like to explore it and look at it. As they get older they will get more interactive.

A fabulous toy at a great price. And the music sounds good too which is a plus!

This is the only electronic toy you need! My 10 month old just got this and she plays w/ it for at least 30 min at a time, a couple times a day. The 3 modes, five piano type keys, 4 directional joy-stick, drum, microphone, guitar playing dog, and 15 LED lights provide a smorgasbord of musical and educational fun.

Counting/Colors/Animals Mode: tap the drum and hear the beats being counted. Press the keys for the color and/or animal name featured on the key and a short tune in the instrument featured on the key.

Listen Mode: each key starts a new classic or nursery song; add animal noises by pressing the keys, drum beats by tapping the drum, puppy noise by pressing pumpy's head, and 4 other funny noises by moving the joy-stick. Swirl the joy-stick to speed up the music and hold it down to slow the music. Sing along using the real microphone.

Play Mode: make your own music using the keys, drum, and joy-stick.

Practicallity: uses easy to find, always on hand AA batteries. Features auto shut-off after inactivity to preserve battery life, but can be switched off to prevent accidental activation, etc. 2 volumes (I think the lowest is loud enough, and could be just a bit quieter, but still, I haven't gotten annoyed yet because of all the variety.)

Bottom Line: This is the most action-packed electronic toy out there and at a very good price too. It is the only one of its kind that you will need, and you do need it.

I purchased this toy for daughter in the exchange of one gift toy. My daughter couldn't stop playing it in the store. So I had to buy it. She enjoys it everyday. She dances on the music. If the music stops, she plays one more key and again the new music starts. Drum is a very good idea. She plays that too. I'm sue she will start counting with that soon. I would recommend this toy to anyone who loves music. This is 100% worth the money. And better than other so called piano's that kids just hit for some time and then get bored because it doesn't play any music by itself.

My daughter, who is 22 months, still loves this toy that we got for her 1st birthday. It drives me nuts though. She pulled on the microphone some and after a while it got so staticky that you could barely hear the music! I exchanged it for another (would have returned it, but didn't keep the receipt) but the same thing happened with the second one. She doesn't even pull the microphone anymore, but it's still a static nightmare. I can hear her bringing it down the hall crackle, crackle, craaaaackle, craaaaaack! This would be a great toy without the mic. Would not buy this again.

I did read the prior reviews, but I'm a sucker for cute wooden toys and I figured they couldn't be *that* small. Well, they are. They'll be outgrown by your baby pretty fast. To give you an idea, everything easily fits in the palm of my hand and the stick is about the size and width of a fat pen. If I'd seen them at a store I would have passed unless they were a lot cheaper. I give the product 3 stars because they're cute and seem well made, but I'm just not happy about what you get for the money.

I am a Title-I math teacher and work with small groups of students who need extra support with math in grades 3-6. These pizza pieces are great for demonstrating all sorts of fraction concepts, especially equivalent and simplifying fractions and adding/subtracting fractions with like or unlike denominators. I have written a rap for the latter, and the kids love performing it for their regular classes while they demonstrate what they're doing mathematically with the pizza pieces. You should not have to pay more then 3$ per pound for grit for your rock tumbler this is way over priced Try some online bidding site or a web search. I buy it from a local rock shop for 3$ a pound delivered to my house. Each of these bags has 1/2 pound you do the math. Just type in "Silicon Carbide grit" in a search.

The grit pack includes coarse grit, fine grit, pre-polish and finish polish. It works great with Tru-Square rock tumblers for basic rock polishing. I've gotten great consistent results, using this for over a year. Portions must be measured out for each operation, (I use a food scale). This way you can vary the amount used for different hardness rocks. Overall this is a great system for hobby rock collectors.

As life long rock-hound, it is not unusual to find me scoring country gravel roads,old mining sites,and the occasional river bed. Rocks abound in my hobby shop.

This items is OK for those who are mildly interested in cleaning and polishing a few well selected specimens, however, the small packs are just than, small. Care is needed when using least the limited supply does not last.
