I love this poster! It was the perfect addition to our classroom. It is bright and colorful, fun for kids. I would have liked it to include the number 0, but I find this product to be fun and engaging.

I ordered this poster and about 4 others like it. Because of their size, they didn't ship that well. The edges on each of them had small tears on them. I know this isn't a review on the packaging, but I'm just saying this because I think because of the material and size it's unavoidable. One poster was rolled up and put in a poster tube, but the edges still were damaged just like the poster I received that was folded in a box.

I must say though, that my kids are drawn to this poster and the others I ordered. They seem to like the vivid colors on the poster.

I don't regret my buy, but I wish the posters were laminated or something to prevent damage (plus then the activities on the back of them for the kids could be done with a dry erase marker and used over and over again).

I bought this for use with a student that I tutor. She has a difficult time envisioning greater/lesser, also with remembering 11, 12,and 13. It is the perfect size, illustrates the concepts that I wanted to teach, AND has fun puzzles on the back. I will definitely order more of these!

Perfect for my 3 year old! Great for hanging on the back door at my little guy's height. We go over and check it out every once in a while. Poster type material works great for durability and hanging on the wall. It's not laminated so it would not work if I actually let little guy play with poster.

My 8 year old got this yesterday for her birthday. It looked very promising. We just finished doing 3 of the experiments. There are 6 experiments total.

The first experiment we tried was the volcano. You need several standard kitchen items such as vinegar, baking soda, food coloring, and dish soap. Instructions say to place 2 teaspoons baking soda in the volcano top. Top holds 1 teaspoon max. Then you put the soap and food coloring in, and pour vinegar on top, resulting in the "eruption" which lasts a few seconds. The instructions provide an illustration showing how a real volcano works, sort of....

2nd experiment we did was another baking soda/vinegar based one which makes a rocket shoot up. We performed the steps exactly and said rocket kept "launching" in our hands, before we could put it on the ground.

3rd experiment was the fingerprints. This one was totally lame. You make your fingerprint on this black card, then dust it with cornstarch to make it appear (it sort of appears). We both tried this and, as recommended, wiped our finger on our noses to get oil on finger to make a better fingerprint on the first card. Then you put tape on the print and lift it off the card. Next you put the tape on the fingerprint record card where you supposedly can rub the print off the tape and onto the card and "observe" it, and check out the type of pattern your fingerprint has (swirl, whorls, etc.) We tried this several ties and it simply did NOT work. Let me point out we followed directions exactly and tried twice.

Oh well.

I would recommend searching on the internet for ways to do these types of experiments at home WITHOUT buying this typical made-in-China crappy kit.

my 10 year old rec'd this on Xmas eve and really enjoyed it. right off the bat he had to perform the clock running on citrus 'juice'! realy neat experiments, easy ot read directions, etc.

I bought this for my six & eight year old grandchildren. We've done three of the "experiments" as I had the ingredients on hand.

The volcano doesn't work per instructions as the called for baking soda is way too much. Once we adapted the baking soda we were able to create a goofy volcano that lasted about three seconds.

The fingerprint experiment didn't work at all.

The rocket experiment did work and the six year old enjoyed it. By this time the eight year was completely bored with the toy.

I'm not willing to spend 50 cents on a lemon to see if the other experiment works.

Certainly NOT worth the $10.00 I paid for it.

This is a nifty little guitar. Perfect price if you are not sure if your child is going to stick around with it, yet a good, quality instrument so they can learn properly.

I love that it came with a strap and a bag. The bag doesn't have any padding, but is still a better alternative than leaving it out or trying to carry it at the neck.

My 6-year-old niece is just having a blast with this guy!

Bought this guitar for my 3 year old. He enjoys playing and singing with it. He can easily hold it on his lap to play, but his fingers do not reach onto the frets. I am sure it is because he is so small. It is attractive and the case is nice for transport. It has a decent sound and seems to be holding up for a 3 year old's play.

This was difficult to tune and required retuning frequently. The lower strings are metal covered and stayed in tune better than the upper strings, which are nylon. The lower strings also sound much better. I will be looking for alternative upper strings. The instrument itself is well made, came with a nice strap and case which also had a nice carry strap.

I bought this for my 6yr old who saved up all his chore money to buy it! On receipt of the guitar I attempted to tune it to E so I could teach him a few easy chords while playing my Taylor. First off the string tension was either ridiculously loose or dangerously tight as I attempted to tune it, the D string snapped way before it hit pitch and I now have a crying boy who really wanted to play this instrument but cannot as its untuneable!!! Its going back asap....I've been playing 28yrs and have never found an instrument so impossible to get in tune...piece of junk.

We were in the market for a way for our 4 year old to practice buttoning, tieing, snapping, etc., in the car and at church. Although several of the reviews were concerned about the myriad of small parts that could be lost, we decided to take a chance. Perhaps the manufacturer has heard their complaints, as our version has all the pieces attached with strings, so nothing has gotten lost. Though I'm sure very young children could pull them off if they wanted to, it has stood up to our 2 and 4 yr. old boys beautifully!

I have mixed feelings about this product. My 20 month old daughter plays with it alot and seems to enjoy it. My complaint is that the snaps, buttons and shapes can all be removed (and lost and amazingly return) from the book. The plastic buckle on the buckle page was removed by my daughter within weeks. I've read reviews about how this book is great for the car and other types of travel. However, the pieces often fall to the floor of the car and most times cannot be retreived. The button page does not allow for both the button and button hole to be held, which doesn't emulate actual buttoning. The ballons that snap onto their page do not have any indication of where to line up or press the snap into place. I've already ordered another set of books where the pieces remain with the book.

This is one of the few self contained toys we have. Everything is attached! It travels well. I bought it for my daughter when she was 1 and she mostly undid everything. At 2, she's just now being able to work the buttons, snaps, etc. I had a homemade version as a kid and remembered that it got a lot of use. The only problem with this one was that some of the fabric pulled away from the stitching. Amazon replaced it before I had a chance to return the original.

This toy is durable! It has survived my 10 year old son's early childhood, and now has (so far) survived my 3 year old daughter's attacks. Both children love it, but as others have mentioned, some pieces are loose and it takes perserverence to keep it together. My cure is that I hide it except for trips to the doctors and other appointments. This makes it a "special" toy, and it is easier to keep track of the parts. Many bright pages of colors keep their interest, and though they love pulling out the snap-on pieces, they are difficult for little one's to snap on. The velcro balloons that are attached are my daughter's (and mine) favorite part. The buckle is too difficult for her, but she loves putting her hand in the glove and unzipping the lady-bug to find "baby" lady bugs. I feel the positives far outweigh the negatives and highly recommend this toy--after all, if she is not losing these pieces under the couch, she would be losing her barbie car keys, lego pieces, building blocks, lincoln logs (etc) under the couch.

I was very excited about getting this toy in the mail for my daughter. When I recieved the box I thought it felt a little light. When I opened it I couldn't believe how small the toy was! For a pull toy I was expecting something about the size of a large Kleenex box. This toy is just about twice the size of a little Matchbox car. The beads it is made out of are small and that makes me too nervous to let my daughter play with it without me because she still puts everything in her mouth. It's very cute but it has become more of an ornament than anything at this point. However, she does enjoy playing with it when we do take it down to play with. It hobbles along quite nicely. I wouldn't send it back but I certainly wouldn't buy it again.

Dora The Explorer Learning Adventure Laptop Review

I bought the dora laptop for my two daughters and they went wild with joy. They spent hours playing with it and it actually took them away from the TV set. I was not happy it ran on batteries but for the safety of the children this is obviously much better. It is durable has it has inevitably suffered a few falls without mishap. A bit expensive but I think it is worth it. It has different "games" they learn to use a mouse and above all my laptop got some peace.

I got the "Dora the Explorer Learning Adventure Laptop" for my 14 month old grandaughter, it is so cute, she is going to love it!!! I wanted to write a review to set off the negative feedback left by one of the users.

Yes, the set does look kind of cheap right from the box. It contains plastic shapes and magnetic sheet. You have to peal the protective sheet to get to the sticky part and then punch out the magnetic shapes to match with plastic ones and hold them for a few seconds for glue to set. Didn't look good, I gotta admit, but once you over it looks very nice and is durable. I've had the magnetic mighty mind that lasted over a year (still in great shape and could be handed down to another child easily).

Also for those who are graduating from mighty mind, this set is bigger. You can't buy regular edition supermind (or supermind design book) and match the cards with your current magnetic tray from mightymind as it won't fit. However you can do the other way around to save money. Buy this one and a regular mighty mind. The shapes are exactly the same, so you can use 1 magnetic set for both and a bigger tray for both as well.

American Educational Energy Conversion Kit, For Generating Review

I ordered this for my 13 year old son so he could use parts of it on a wind turbine science fair project he was working on. He loved the kit and was fascinated by the solar components. Overall, it was a great purchase and a quality kit. I gave it 5 stars because it met all of our expectations, however please note that it came packaged in a plain box with no instructions whatsoever. My son said it didn't need instructions and was self explanatory.

We bought this for our son when he was 5 month old, he is 7 months old now and it is still his FAVORITE. He loves the songs and squeals with delight when they play.

He doesn't know the button yet, but it's nice for him still. A peek-a-boo feature when you close the top down and open it, interactive buttons, and a little ball roller which is easy for my son's little hands to play with. 5 stars from us. :)

We first bought this when our son was 9-1/2 months old. At the time this was still a little advanced for him, but he loved opening and closing the lid and spinning the spinning rattle. It was a little difficult for him to open by himself at the time, but he opened it easily if I held the bottom part for him.

By the time he was around 11 months old (give or take a couple of weeks) he could open the top all by himself, and purposely push the buttons one at a time his favorites are the light up yellow star and the blue circle music button (he loves music). We rotate his toys, so he does not always have access to this one, and his face lights up when I pull this toy out for him to play with. One of his favorite things to do is open and close the cover Scout's voice says a variety of related words when the cover is opened or closed (open/close, hello/goodbye, on/off, peek-a-boo).

I think he will enjoy this toy for a while since he hasn't learned shapes, colors, or numbers yet (the five buttons teach shapes (square, circle, triangle, circle, star, heart), numbers (1, 2, and 3), and colors (green, blue, orange, yellow, red). Scout sometimes asks the child to "find the orange triangle" and other similar questions, and responds with praise when the correct button is pushed.

As far as durability, this toy has withstood the abuse of a toddler for the past three months (chewing on the ears, leaning on it while open, throwing it across the room, and I'm sure he has even stepped on it), with no visible effects, so I'd say it's a pretty durable little toy!

There is nothing wrong with the product, and it will definitely stand up to the abuse a toddler can dish out, but I would go for something a little more advanced that a child won't grow out of so quickly. The best part about the toy is that it will say "peek-a-boo" when it is open and shut.
