Discount KidKraft Wooden Chanukah Set

Customer Ratings:

We have a mixed-religion household, and our son has taken a huge interest in his Jewish heritage, so we bought this set for him to participate in the holiday without the hazards of real candles. He also enjoys "making latkes" for the family.

The wooden pieces are high quality, with bright paint that doesn't chip. Very durable.

We were so impressed with this set, we are thinking about getting the other wooden sets for the other Jewish holidays.

***added Dec 17, 2011***

My son is actually playing with this as I type, so, even a year later, he still likes bringing it out this time of year. I don't know why I didn't mention it in my original review, but the candle "flames" can be remove from the candles, so you can "light" them on the correct days if you choose to. The latkes have detailed markings on them to make them look more realistic, and the "gold" coins have Stars of David on them. The dreidel spins quite well, and the none of the paint has shown any signs of wear on any of the pieces.

I purchased this set 2 years ago for my in-home Christian childcare and it still looks like new, even though the kids play with it throughout the month of December (every day)! It's incredibly durable, as are all of the KidKraft toys we own, and the amount of wood pieces (major plus) you get for the price is surprising. The kids love learning about Jewish traditions such as the Menorah, dreidel, Hannukah, and the different foods they eat for their holidays. We love playing the Dreidel (we use M&Ms for counting and cost), singing the songs, and "lighting" the candles. I had been looking for a real Menorah when I found this set. I'm SO happy I purchased this instead. I even bring out the foods and utensils in this set when the kids play restaurant (with Sushi, Mexican food, and Italian food), so it can be used year-round. I fell it's incredibly important to teach our kids about Jewish traditions as Christ was a Jew, their history is our history, and I want them to learn to respect others' culture and traditions.

My son (27 months) loves this playset. He likes to spin the dreidel, "light" the candles (with the included wooden "flames"), and fry up latkes in the pan. Like the other Kidkraft Judaica items, this is a fun way to have Jewish holidays and observance become an organic part of a child's imaginative play. The included storage bag is great for keeping the many pieces together. Well done, Kidkraft.

Honest reviews on KidKraft Wooden Chanukah Set

I should really link the video we took. It was priceless to see our son follow daddy as they both lit the candles on their menorahs. While the flames were on the small side (not chokeable) they were a perfect way for our son to "light his own menorah candles". We lost a couple of flames but later found them in a hidden slot of the highchair. We even looked into it and the maker has the option of buying replacement parts which is great to know for future years. It was great to see our son excited to have his own latkes, dreidels, etc. And everything was so solid and durable, we took the whole set to grandma and grandpa's too.

My four year old takes lighting her menorah SO seriously, following alongside Daddy and the real one. Adorable, sturdy, perfect gift for a kid who celebrates Hanukkah.

Best Insect Lore Buzzerks-Mantis Deals

My 7 year old nephew loved them. I seen that some of the other reviewers were having problems with them being too small but they fit his head just fine.

Our son had a set of these that he loved to play with at his preschool. We finally tracked them down on Amazon and bought a few sets for the play room and a few as Christmas gifts for friends that have children. Everyone loves them. They are always getting pulled out when we have visitors come over to play and it's so nice to see them play with something that doesn't need batteries for once and something that might actually still be considered fun even as he gets older. They are quite sturdy and have been stepped on and dropped many times with no ill-effects. Would highly recommend a pair or 2 of these glasses for a rainy day pick-me-up.

Really cute, wears them out sometimes and looks appropriately creepy! We bought all three glasses options and this is everyone's favorite!

Discount Test Tube Aliens Good #3 TATSUNI

Customer Ratings:

I bought this toy for my nephew he already had three, but couldn't find any more in retail stores. I found them right away on Amazon and needless to say he was thrilled. I plan on getting another one soon because he brought his grades up. I have never had a bad experience shopping with Amazon, it is one of the best places online to shop. My orders always deliver promptly and in mint condition. Thank you so much for your professional service and quality items. I will always be a loyal customer.

My son (9yo) is very interested by the test tube. He is surprising me by his suddent "fatherly" attitude (promptly putting the tube in the dark at bed time and in the like in the morning). He read quite a lot from the explanation.

The web interraction is quite exciting, even thought it really did not function properly for us, but this kept me interested in the experiment as much as he did.

I just hope he could take it out of the tube and keep it after the experimentation. How is this going to end???

Best Deals for Test Tube Aliens Good #3 TATSUNI

I found that this toy is not all it's advertised to be or rather it's not as exciting a toy as it appears. It is not for children under the age of about 8-9 years old. If the child is too young to care for a small pet, then they are too young for this toy. Mom or Dad (or Grandmother, in my case) will have to take care of this thing. Initially, it's very exciting!! You add the "food" and the Alien "grows" pretty quickly. I takes up to two weeks to reach full size. As soon as you add the liquid to the tube and the white foam material he's encased in begins to fizz away = my grandson was very excited. As soon as the fizzing stops the red light (heartbeat) in the head of the alien begins. He requires contant feeding in the early couple of weeks and he also requires 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. You can go the the Alien website and darken the room hold the alien in front of the flashing light on the screen to do diagnostic tests. The flashing lights allow you to diagnose the condition of your alien. The website will also tell you how many times you have left him alone in the light or darkness. BUT, once the "newness" has worn off he just sits in his tube with his light flashing. My grandson never asks about him anymore. So, I'm still taking care of our Alien. He no longer relies on his food but eats only plain tap water now.

The excitement of this toy wears off very quickly. There is nothing about it to maintain a child's interest for any length of time. Still, it is a novelty and my grandson was very excited when he first got it. His interest just didn't last long. I have no idea how long this thing "lives" but it's been over a month now and he's still going strong.

My son received this as a christmas gift, and thoroughly enjoys it. This is not a regular DVD. It is designed to go with the "Read With Me DVD" system (a separate remote control that works with it on your TV). A previous reviewer was not aware of this, so it should not have received a bad review for consumer error.

My son is 5 and this was a great gift for him. He enjoys the many different activities associated with each DVD. Unlike a previous person complained, I was fully aware you needed the special player to view this DVD. The player is very easy to use and my son requires very little assistance from me. He sits for over an hour playing with each DVD!!!

C.R. Gibson Emily Green Imagination Mat, Here Kitty Reviews

Customer Ratings:

A great placemat our second round. The first one lasted about a year it probably would've lasted longer if I'd just wiped it instead of washed it in the sink, but our kids are learning to clear their own plates so I just let them put it in the sink with everything else. Cute, bright, and makes mealtime fun for our kids.

Great unit for doing difficult rework. With the .5x objective installed you get around ~6.5 inches of working distance. This unit has a lot of mass and is very stable. The optics are great and focus tracks very well throughout the magnification range. The light source is really great because you can control 4 individual regions on the ring light and eliminate shadows/reflections on components.

I am totally happy with this scope. Although the price was amazingly reasonable, the quality is still top notch. I use it for doing surface mount electronic work and repair and it couldn't be better. Thanks for keeping prices low.

This is an amazing product for the price. The same quality instrument sold from jewelry supply houses sells for three to four times this price. It is great for engraving, stone setting, inspection, watch repair, basically anything that is hard to see. It makes your finger print look like the grand canyon with a little river running in the ravines between the print lines. The LED bank provides better than expected visibility. This product comes with the adapter lens, but they don't tell you that, so do not buy the other lens. The only negative is the plastic adapter ring that holds the LED assembly to the lens. If you bump the light, it pops off. A dab of epoxy on the threads will make it last a lifetime. If someone from the factory is reading this, You need to make it out of metal! Enjoy

VTech - MobiGo Touch Learning System - Carry Case Review

Customer Ratings:

I bought this case for the Mobigo and really liked some of the features. It is sturdy and strong enough to protect the items inside. I really liked the protective flap that covers the screen from getting scratched. There is a zipped pocket where you can store quite a few games I have four in there now and could easily double that amount. There are two elastic straps that hold the Mobigo securely in place. It is not too hard for my almost 6 year old to put the Mobigo in but a little tight to take out. I even have some trouble with getting it in and out because it's tight but I imagine it will get easier with use. Overall a good accessory and value.

I purchased a MobiGo for my nephew's third birthday. I thought he may be too young for the game, but he picked it up in no time. Plus, he loves the games which are very educational (Toy Story 3 is his favorite right now.) The game system is well worth the money and easy to use. This case is a "must have." A 3 year old boy is not the most gentle when it comes to toys so the case is wonderful. It stores his gaming system, along with a few games in a durable case. If you are going to spend the money on the system, I would strongly recommend the additional expense of getting a solid case, like this one.

Best Deals for VTech - MobiGo Touch Learning System - Carry Case

durable case with enough pocket room inside for 4 or 5 games.

too bad it cant fit the ac adapter, but i like the strong, yet soft, outer shell that protects the video game. perfect for taking on trips.

the zipper opens up wide enough that you can actually play the game while it's still inside the case, with ease.

would have liked it if they had some cooler colors/designs though.

Honest reviews on VTech - MobiGo Touch Learning System - Carry Case

The Mobigo fits unbelievable tight in this thing. As in, it takes approximately 1 minute of fooling with it to get the thing in or out. I cannot imagine why on earth they created it so amazingly snug, especially for a device intended for small children. There is no way a young kid could use this without assistance. We still use it, to protect the Mobigo, but I (silently) curse the case every time I have to struggle with it.

I bought 3 of these bags for my granddaughters. They are very cute and durable. Protects the leapPad and stylish too.

The girls can put a few extra items in it and it has room for cartridges. It's easier to carry than the green case because it is a purse. I would have liked a shoulder handle but the girls are happy with it the way it is.

I found the price was much better through Amazon.

Best Deals for LeapFrog LeapPad Fashion Handbag (Works with LeapPad2 and LeapPad1)

After reading other reviews, I was very excited to get this product. It started off okay. Fits the LeapPad 2 well. However that's where the excitement ends.

The case only holds a few cartridges, the system is a tight squeeze if you buy the vinyl skin for it, and the headphones won't fit at all.

Perhaps a better option will come about later.

Honest reviews on LeapFrog LeapPad Fashion Handbag (Works with LeapPad2 and LeapPad1)

Bought this for my 3 year old daughter after she received a LeapPad 2 for Christmas and love how sturdy it is. The only thing is I thought it would be able to hold the charger for the rechargable batteries within the mesh pocket but it isn't so.

Great accessory for a little girl! It has storage as well. My only disappointment was that she can't actually use in the case. It's not like an iPad case where you don't have to remove it so it's still exposed to being dropped quite a bit.

Discount American Educational economy Bunsen Burner, 3" Base Diameter x

Customer Ratings:

While the workmanship of this product leaves something to be desired, the flame produced is hot and the valve seals perfectly. Using LPG/Propane, the flame has slightly orange tips, even with the air valve completely open, indicating that inadequate oxygen is being mixed with the fuel. However, heated objects are not blackened, so this is of little consequence for most purposes. Overall, it is a great deal compared to the other burners available for sale on Amazon.

My daughter is only 2 years of age. She received this toy as a birthday gift. She loves pushing buttons so she loves this toy. I wouldn't recommend this as an "educational" toy. The mechanical voice isn't clear enough for her to understand what's being said, but she does enjoy the fact that it makes noise in response to pushing a button!Vtech Write & Learn Letter Book

Honest reviews on VTech Letter Book

I bought this for my four year old grandson, to help with letter formation. As your finger starts to follow and trace the letter, the voice goes back to the beginning and never gets to the ending steps. Also, it jumps around from one activity to another as you turn pages. Seems like there should be a separate "story" button. I had to send the first one I ordered back because the volume was too low and could not be turned up. The volume is o.k. on this one, but I wonder if the wiring is off in other areas. It's just not what I was expecting, as other Vtech items I have purchased were quite good.
