Best Deals for LeapFrog Letter Crazy!

As a kindergarten teacher, I recommend Leap Frog products to parents often. This product is durable, educational and is of high quality. A former student learned her letters with this toy. However, when I ordered one to use to let kids take home for practice, I disliked the light up display. It was difficult to tell which letter was being displayed. The letters are all capital letters. Lower case letters are most helpful in learning to read. I did like the focus on the sounds.

Weird toy. My son(2) got into it right away. Figured it out. Then got bored. When the lights flash, you hit the flashing button, it thens say an animal name with the begining letter on the screen. We played for about 20mins. Now sits in the toy box.

I really love this toy! We have a 3 y/o and he is learning how to play it. I don't know what age this toy is rated for but a child 3-4 should be the low end of the age. I don't think a child older than 6-8 would find this fun or stay busy with it for more than a few minute.

Cheap Leap Frog Leapster Letter Factory Game Cartridge

My grandson began using "Letter Factory" when he was 3 years old and leaped ahead of the game in reading and comprehensive skills because of the phonetic skills learned! He is now age 7, 2nd grade, and, as of October 2009 reads and comprehends at a 4th Grade, 6 month level! He has a younger brother who is now 3 years old. My daughter's desire was to allow him the same leap ahead. She was not able to locate their Game Cartridge; it has been missing since they moved 2 years ago. She searched and could not locate another Letter Factory because Leap Frog no longer makes this Game. I searched Amazon in November 2009, found it, bought it, and my younger grandson will receive it this Christmas! He will have the same opportunity his older brother did, for which we are Most Greatful and anticipate the same Leap Ahead for Him!!! If you have younger children and/or grandchildren and can locate one of these Game Cartridges Give your child this same type of Hop, Skip & Jump into their Reading and Comprehensive Skills!

Discount 4M Dynamo Torch

We purchased this toy for our 8 year old son. He loved it. Once the christmas festivities was over, this was the first toy he wanted to play with and construct. It took barely 15 minutes to work with him to put it together and then he played with it for days. It really got him asking questions about how it works, etc... and he even observed that with the cover it come with it projects light, but if you use a soda plastic bottle as the cover, it projects a brighter, larger light. It still has him asking questions, and he keeps it on his bed side as his emergency go to flashlight. Well-made and safe. A great purchase!

We purchased this Green Science kit for our nine-year-old son for Christmas. He was able to put it together by himself and it has held up to the rough handling of a child. He is still just as fascinated with it and is constantly experimenting with ways to use the 'torch', including reading under the covers after lights out. We are so pleased with the product that we have ordered several different kits for his upcoming birthday.

I was sad that the whole thing wasn't a build. It was easy to put together, but I still wanted the knowledge for my son to see the inside "guts". When he is done with playing around with it, he is going to take it apart piece by piece and study it. I was also disappointed that one of the wire holes was missing. We had to just wrap the wire around the tab which got loose. Easy fix, though. Overall.. I would say I wish it was more educational from the start, instead of having to take it all apart to understand the concept. My son did say he hopes there is no battery that he is just triggering to make it light up.

I got this for my 8 year old nephew. I didn't get to see him put it together and play with it but I heard that he loved it. At first he was asking where the batteries were but when his dad explained that "he" was the battery he got super excited. He was amazed that he produced the energy to power the torch so I would say that this was a fun and educational toy.

I am a beginner at guitar and this is my first guitar. I'll say this: if you want to learn guitar and you are looking for a first guitar, buy this one! It is an excellent guitar to learn on and you can't complain about the price! Others would say "Your getting what you pay for." but i disagree. I believe this guitar is much better than what i paid for! I would expect a guitar like this to sell for around at LEAST $80 or $85. This is why i am very much so pleased with this guitar. Plenty of places online will show you exactly how to tune it. The Sky Scraper is a very entertaining toy that really delivers. The spinners fit on the top of the handle and a strong pull on the built in self retracting cord sends the spinner skyward for what seems to be an amazing height easily 100 ft. or so. This is accomplished because the spinners have three support ribs that function as mini-propellers. This toy appears to be well made and should provide many trouble free hours of entertainment. I have no negatives regarding this toy, but you should know that on a windy day the spinner may drift quite a ways and if there are trees or roofs nearby you're likely to lose the spinner. Aeromax sells a separate package that just includes the spinners.

I am so disappointed with this toy. I have never written a review this harsh, but this toy is basically a cheap piece of junky plastic. It doesn't work well. You have to practically put the ball section into your mouth for the voice amplification to work, and even then it functions very poorly. Bystanders might notice a slight voice amplification, but the user can't tell it at all except for some static sounds. Of course, my 3-year-old granddaughter wants to be able to hear her own voice being amplified when she sings into it. There is a button to push to hear Dora sing, and that works fine, but we bought this for the microphone part. I know the other reviews here on Amazon are 5 stars, which is why I purchased this toy, but I now notice that none of the previous reviews are Verified Amazon Purchases. That's all I have to say about that. My advice...don't waste your money on this.

As many of the other reviews have stated the microphone part of it is not the best quality. It does produce a lot of static and your mouth has to be right over the top of it to hear yourself. Dora's voice and the music is also really loud. A volume control would have been nice. The thing is the kids don't care about any of these complaints. Dora's songs and music are great. My childen sing and dance to the Dora songs while holding the microphone. I would recomend this product to Dora lovers.

My daughter Nicole got this from her godmother, she was about six months, so anyway... she liked it because of the color and stuff and we mostly used it for support -since she kept falling backwardsthen when she was a couple of months older she would used it as a pillow (a rather tall one) to rest her head on while watching t.v, and when it was time to take a nap she loved to curl into a fetal position and place her back against it (she still does this, while sucking her thumb)she liked it so much we tried to put it in her crib, but found it too big. Now we've had it for some time and kept it in a corner of the living room, so she could get it when she wanted to watched t.v. One of these days I heard her giggle through the baby monitor and went to check on her, I found her rolling around the floor with it hugged tightly against her, then she placed herself on top of it and sit back and rode it as a horsie... a few days after I found her asleep on top of it, with her thumb in her mouth and her legs streched back and crossed together. She likes this thing so much she won't use anything else to watch t.v or take a nap with, almost everytime we get home the first thing she does is run to it, pull it to the middle of the room and just have fun.It's really amazing -to me anywayhow she hasn't ger tired of it.

The only thing is that sometimes when it's time to go to bed at night she wants to sleep either on top or with it, and she's always saying "no, mama, no!" when I trie to take her upstairs for bedtime OR she says "no, daddy, no" in the most sweetest of voices, with her big blue eyes puppy-stile and a pout and my husband gives right up and lets her have it her way.

But I don't think that's such a bad thing cause she's a heavy sleeper and she doesn't wake up when we take her to her room. Nothing more to say except... I ADORE THIS FREAKING TOY, and more important, SHE ADORES IT EVEN MORE.

I think this is a great product. It supports my son when he is sitting up and he loves to play with it. I have noticed older children like to curl up with it while watching television. I think this would make a nice gift because it is unique. Unlike most baby toys and products, we will get years of use out of the Activity Dino.

When I first received this item as a gift I didn't expect much from it. When my son reached 6 months I would place the dino behind him to help him sit up. The activity Dino made my newborn smile and helped him to learn to sit up. Even now that he is older, he will see it laying on the back of the couch and will crawl to it and crinkle some of the fabric or will just smile at the colors or when I squeeze the nose to make a roaring sound. I highly recommend it, especially for the 0-4 month age group.

Very cute oven mitt for role-playing. I got it for my toddler and it's a bit on the large size for her, but I expect it to last for several years. I wish there were more prints and colors available, and also a smaller size for toddlers.

Bought this to help my toddler with speech therapy. I remember these as a kid being really fun to use and loud, but this one is pretty junky. You have to hold it literally right to your mouth, yell into it and even then, you hardly hear a thing and there's practically zero echo. Cute colors and durable, just not what I was expecting performance wise from the Gymboree label. The little one's not the least bit interested in it.

Bought this for my young toddler to encourage him to make news sounds as he's receiving speech therapy for being a late talker. What a difference this is making already trying out new sounds has become a game and we're making progress already after only a few days. My 5 year old thinks it's fun too! Great product!

We bought this toy to take on a car trip for our 5 year old. We didn't even bring it because the lowest volume is so loud and the sounds are annoying. My husband couldn't stand to have it in the car. We couldn't even put headphones or anything in it because there is no way to put them into the laptop. The games my son plays on the laptop don't really teach him anything although there are ones on there that do. The kids love the way you move the things around and although they wanted a mouse like our computer, they find this laptop easier to use. The screen is also very dark and hard to see sometimes. The contrast once again is hardly noticeable with the contrast button. If they would fix the sound and screen, it wouldn't be too bad of a toy.

I am happy i bought this toy. My 5 yr old son loves it and uses it often. He figured out all the activities and games. Some people said that graphics are bad but come on , its under $30, what can u expect. I think this toy is totally worth the money.

As a teacher, I am thrilled to find an exceptional educational toy and this is it. I purchased this for my son who has a learning disability and he took to this laptop immediately. After showing and playing with my son a few times, he was able to master the mouse and key board quickly. He enjoys the language arts lower level games the most. I appreciate that the laptop has more advanced games that he can grow into. The laptop speaks to the user by praising when achieving a high score or offering encouragement to continue when a low score is earned. There are five more programs included such as Math and Brain Teasers. I was hesitant to buy because of the concerns offered by others that there is no "back light" that will illuminate the screen. The screen is highly visible in regular room light. I encourage parents to play some of the games before giving it to a child so the adult can explain how the device and programs work.

My son who is 4 years old and autistic received this yesterday, I ordered to replace his Vtech Talking Whiz Kid 2000, a blue, heavy, bulky, hand-me-down laptop (from my older kids 13 and 14 years old) which was a success in the old days. Not sure when it was built but it has designs of Windows 3.1 icons around the screen. Like I said that old one is bulky and weighs as much as my old iBook G4, so you must imagine the big change the upgrade made. We would have never replaced "old faithful" if it wasn't for the fact that 4 activity buttons were broken. It isn't very usable, however it still turns on and does the activities that are not broken.

Moving on to our new acquisition, this laptop is light as a feather, has two cartridges that can be stored in a front compartment and has two designs (white with blue display and silver with yellow-green display) but I imagine both do the same thing. Mine is the silver with yellow-green display as pictured.

My son was playing with it all day yesterday since it came, and it was the first thing he reached for today. More fun than gazillion bubble buzz lightyear he got, and it has survived a lot of rough handling. The previous Vtech Whiz Kid laptop survived a lot of extensive mistreating and being tossed often. I will update within a month, or as soon as this thing breaks. I imagine it will last longer than the buzz lightyear (4 weeks), our son is very rough but this thing seems to be quite sturdy.

It doesn't have a backlight, but for less than thirty dollars, who would expect to get backlight? I think this thing is worth what it costs.

I can see why the previous reviewers were disappointed, because it does seem pretty basic. However I think the reviewer who judged 1-2-3 Dora to lack substance is missing some key opportunities within this book. It is not just sequential counting 1-10.

The book starts out with Dora asking her little reader, "We're going on a picnic. Can you help me count the fruit for my basket?" Each page features a different fruit (pineapple, bananas, oranges, guavas, limes, mangos, cherries, strawberies, blueberries, and coconuts). While my 3-year-old can easily count in sequence from 1-10, he has not yet had much practice looking at a picture and counting how many of an object are there, which is what this book encourages. Not only that, but for my 15-month-old daughter, it will teach number sequence, build her English vocabulary (fruit names), and both my daughter and sons alike will get a light introduction to Spanish, which I LOVE. We are already bilingual (English and Arabic), so introducing the #2 language in the USA will help them.

I rate this book 5 stars since a large age range will actually benefit from this book, as advertised.

Very few pages and very little content overall compared to other Tag Jr books. No story, just counting 1 to 10.

I saw the previous review only gave this book 2 stars but decided to order it anyway because my family is bilingual and that is something i want to pass on to my little girl. It is a short book and does not follow a story line. I would still buy it again solely because it does contain spanish words and phrases; however, I was a bit disappointed because it calls banana the same in English and Spanish. I grew up knowing bananas were called "platanos" in spanish. I have friends from different parts of Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador even from Puerto Rico and we all know bananas as platanos in spanish so I'm wondering where leapfrog got there spanish from. I hope leapfrog makes more bilingual story books, but I hope they put a little more effort into it.
