My three year old son absolutely loves this game. He got the Mobigo for Christmas last year, in the booklet for the system, Mr. Men and Little Miss game is advertised. They had discontinued selling this game in the store so I was excited when I finally found it. The game reinforces what we teach him, like numbers, letters, and blending colors. I purchased these to use with my kindergartners. The blocks are a little smaller than expected, but I don't think that matters too much. I thought they would be inch cubes, but they are 2 centimeters. I especially like the cards with 3D structures that my students must do some thinking about to build. The description says there are 18 cards, but really there are 33.

My 6 year old son with autism and neurotypical 4 year old sister have a great time playing with this. It helps establish pattern recognition, counting along with learning what some, none and all are in a tactile way. We have owned this set for just over 3 months and we come up with more ways to play with it all the time.

My daughter is 2 and was excited to get this in the mail. She loves airplanes so I expected her to love this and play with it a lot but the opposite is the case. The toy is great quality but is not played with often even by a airplane lover! It is light weight and perfect for small hands. I love it but my daughter does not use it. It looks cute for room decor but other than that we do not get the use out of it I expected/wanted.

The tumbler works great and the price compared to other tumblers of the same capacity is good. I have been using mine for tumbling brass for reloading with stainless pins and water. I couldn't ask for better performance for dirty brass. The only drawback at all is the lid and how it is retained. The lid fits in a recess in the drum and a large worm screw clamp secures it. It can be a little difficult to insert at times but once seated and clamped I haven't had a drop of water come out yet. Also not any real issue but the drum needs to laid in the rollers with the lid of the drum opposite of the motor side. I had it hand up a couple of times the other way but no issue when turned away. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if the need comes up.

Best AM/FM Radio Kit/Trainer (requires assembly-advanced) Deals

If you're a tech buff, you'll love this. I'm building this for my Auto/mechanics class in High School, and this is my latest project. I love it. I've finished the AM part and am halfway through the FM part, and the AM part worked the first time I tried it. It sounds very loud and clear after adjusting the coils. Putting it together was an awesome experience, and I couldn't wipe that grin off my face when I turned it on and it worked. The instructions are very clear, they get straight to the point and have you do some testing with a multimeter along the way to make sure you didn't screw anything up. Great kit, just three tips:

Don't drop the AM antenna. It is little more than a bar of iron, and it WILL crack into several pieces.

Don't forget to put the plastic o-ring under the volume potentiometer.

On the AM/FM tuning gang capacitor, make sure you put the two screws on first BEFORE soldering it to the board. If you don't do this, it will cause the PCB to noticeably bend, and that's no fun.

I'll make this short. If like me, you miss building those kits--this is the one you want. At first I thought it would be too easy--I haven't done it yet, but I did open the box and give it the 'quick once over'.

Apparently, it is 'just' complicated enough to keep my interest--I would have perferred building my own cabinet stereo...but they don't exist anymore. So I settled for this little one. Oh yes, this comes with a small speaker.

All you technos who want to build your own radio (including the soldering and circuit board parts) that will fit into a small shoe box...this is the one to get! (it was also the only one I could find on the internet--those Snap-on and Spring Clips aren't my bag).

So, it gets my five star rating.

I originally purchased this kit as part of my capstone project for my associates degree in computer and electrical engineering. The manual that comes with the kit makes for a very good learning lab, especially if you have an RF generator and an O-scope to use. Make sure you follow the directions to a T and never assume. Once assembled the AM Part of the radio worked really well. The FM side worked OK. I had problems picking up stations inside of my school building on the FM side more than the AM side. The kit does react to noise, as it does not have a box to block it. The silk screen board is really nice as it labels the sections of the radio, but mine came with small cracks on the surface.

This project is good for someone just starting out learning electronics communications.

Very nice kit. Only amplifier was oscillating. Just place the extra provided capacitor over powerconnection of IC and over the input of the IC and ground a resistor of 10 Kohm and all is OK. It is a lot of fun to build the radio and reception is above expectation.

I learned to solder (via the learn to solder kit) only weeks before I made the plunge and bought this kit. I always wanted to build a radio! When I turned it on and heard real music, I must use the overused termmajic. Very cool. later I soldered on a 9v power supply from a cell phone so I don't need batteries.

I chose to buy this shape sorter for my 12 month old because it is solid wood and the shapes only fit through their own holes. This is important, because MANY shape sorters have more shapes, but they will frequently fit through more than one shape hole.

This toy good for Montessori-style learning, because it has the natural control of error.

This toy is simple, but good quality, and my daughter loves it.

The lid is not attached, like some, but that's fine. We play with it togther and she has almost as much fun matching the lid to the box!

I purchased this shape sorter for my 17 month old about a month ago, and I am really pleased. We had previously purchased another Plan Toys Shape Sorter Plan Toy Shape and Sort with a very similar name but different design. My child never really took to it, partly because it is not the most intuitive design. She never really figured out the intended way to retrieve the shapes, though she did get creative and find another way! It seemed clear to me that she would be more interested in dropping shaped blocks into a container where she could retrieve them.

Before purchasing I had read a review that pointed out that this a fool proof design in that the shapes will only fit into the right spot. We have found that to be true.

After receiving this sorter, my daughter mastered the round spot quickly and is very good at the other shapes as well. There are two of each shape, so your child can reinforce what they learn when they hit the right spot by putting the same shape in again right away. The lid fits nicely, resting in a groove. It is slightly weighty so it works well and is easy to remove and replace.

I love that this toy is non-toxic with safer rounded edges. Wood toys can be less toxic but a potential hard surface to fall on, so rounded edges show that someone put thought and care into the design.

The wood is a beautiful, matte finish. It feels good in your hands. The colors are rich, and engaging for my child. I don't think you can go wrong with this one!

Update: As my child grew older, she did some of their first stacking with these blocks. The matte finish gives them some grip so they are not as difficult as the Baby's First Blocks by Haba (which I also recommend).

Yes, the lid does come right off. But for the reviewer complaining that their child has more fun taking the lid off than sorting the blocks: isn't this a toy? If they're having fun doing their own thing, i'm not sure what the trouble is. Sooner or later they'll get into that obsessive sorting stage.

This toy is very solidly built. The blocks are solid wood, the box is sturdy, and the lid fits perfectly on top. It doesn't lock or clip or lock in, there's no hinge. It's a piece of wood that rests on top of the box, and that makes it very easy for the child to remove it and pull the blocks out so they can start sorting all over again. I can't speak for other parents or their kids, but mine loves to upend the box and dump everything out, lid and all. He wouldn't be able to have that fun if the lid locked into place, and i'm glad i don't have to be involved in liberating the blocks every time he's put them all into the box.

(And for anyone who doesn't know much about the Plan Toy company, my favorite thing about them is that they use food-grade dyes for their products, so you never have to worry about your child ingesting toxic chemicals by chewing on them. They also source renewable wood and engage in a variety of other eco-friendly policies.)

My 21 month old daughter loved this since I opened it & it kept her engaged. I love the quality, all the pieces and box are solid wood, except the bottom of the box is a little different (thinner), however it is pretty solid/sturdy. The box's walls are put together by something similar to a dovestail joint (glued); this means no nails. All edges of box, lid & shapes are rounded & smooth. The shapes fit only in their corresponding shape slot (no cheating :). The box has two openings on the sides to use as handles. The lid sits on a short grove on top of the box & is easily removed by child without assistance (If you tip it over, the lid would fall). My only issue is that MY lid did not sit flat, the top is slighty warped & it wobbles a bit on top of the box (like a wobbly/uneven table). The defect was not significant enough for me to return it, however this would be better if the grove for the lid were a little deeper & of course the lid is flat. Overall happy with this product, it is well made & my child loves it. Oh, and the paint seems good, no chemical odor. Box measures 6" wide & 4" high. [If this helped, please like my review, thanks]

I got this for my 15 month old son. It is a beautifully made toy; great quality and the educational value is definitely there. I only wish there was a way to keep the lid on. My son gets more enjoyment out of taking the lid off and filling the box with toys. I think if there was a latch or a hinge of some sort, he would be more apt to actually try and get the blocks through the holes. I would not buy this particular product again but I will buy from Plan toys in the future.

Well, this item has very little product info, so I took a chance and purchased it. I wanted something inexpensive that I could take on picnics and weekend getaways. This is the perfect little MP3 Mini dock for travel or a desk at work. I'm not sure why this is listed in the toy category, probably because it was geared toward youngsters.

The sound quality is low grade, so if you're looking for high quality audio, you'll have to spend a lot more money. This iTilt takes 4 AAA batteries (not included), and it has an input for a wall plug converter 110 ACV to 6 volts DC. However, no converter is included. Even so, you can buy a compatible converter at Radio Shack for less than 10 bucks. It also happens my old Palm Pilot charger has the right voltage and plug and seems to work fine with it. But if you experiment with old converters, be sure you know what you're doing -the voltage can be no more than 6 DCV.

It works with a little fold-out stand that exposes a dock with a prong to place your iPod or other MP3 player onto. In the event you have another type of device, it also comes with a double male-ended plug/cord that inputs in the back of the unit. So, for example, if you have a Motorola phone with music storage, you can use the plug/cord accessory to get connected and listening to music.

It measures approx 6.5 inches long and 3 inches tall. It's a nice value if you just want a simple player to take your music from place to place with no hassles.

My granddaughters always loved these things at the doctors office, but I had never thought about actually buying one until my wife mentioned it. The quality of this product is exceptional and I expect to have it around for quite a while. It's been dropped, dragged, stepped on, piled on and it still looks like new. The older grandkids (including the 7 year old) all sit and play with it from time to time. I was hesitant to spend this much on a toy like this and was a little disappionted with the size when I first opened the box, but as it turns out it is the perfect size for toddlers and it's one of the only toys I bought last year that survived and is still being played with almost every day.

THIS PRODUCT IS MADE IN CHINA!!!!! Any claim to the contrary is entirely false advertising. "Made in China" is clearly stamped on the side of the box. When you call Anatex a rude receptionist will tell you that it is made in "their factory" in China. Right. Made in China. Not the USA. And for this price!!!! Ridiculous. Their margins must be HUGE.

Just got mine. Don't know if previous versions were made in China, but mine has "Made in USA" written on the packaging as opposed to the item received by the reviewer below. Further, mine has ink (nontoxic) on the gears rather than stickers as has been used on previous iterations. This is a great activity cube. Maybe Anatex got the message and made improvements on past complaints. If this is this case, kudos to them!

I got this for my kids for christmas. They all love it (ages 5.5, 3.5, and 18 months). This is very durable and great. The sound is pretty and it isn't like the other annoying musical instruments. The natural materials make the sound softer. I love it and so do my kids. The rack idea wasn't the brightest idea. Don't get this thinking you're going to use the rack, because it just doesn't work. We have a cute basket where we put this and the plan toys xylophone and solid drum in as well. All wonderful products!!

Our family has purchased many Plan Toys items and have, in the past, been very happy. Among the favorites in our house are the Doll Family (a true bargain), the Dancing Alligator and the Pull-along Snail.

However, this set of "Instruments" is severely lacking. In total what you have are four large baby rattles and a stick. The sound quality is poor, the variety is minimal and I truly believe that they paint the mallet holder black in an effort to convince consumers that it is the end of instrument-like the large black head of a drumstick. It is not. It's a black painted mallet holder. The mallet itself is nothing more than a brown stick.

Ironically, the holder, the item most complained about on this site, seems to work just fine.

Not only would we absolutely NOT buy this item again, we're sending it back. $ is a true rip-off for this toy. So many better things out there to spend your money on.

I received this instrument set as a gift at my baby shower. Now, my daughter is almost 1 and she loves the playing all of the instruments. Each one produces a different sound. The yellow one jingles like a tambourine, the red one has a piece of wood in it that produces a clicking noise, the blue one sounds like a maraca, and the green one is hollow with rough edges on one side to scrape (like a guiro) and smooth on the other side to tap with the stick (like a wood block).

Since my daughter is still in the stage where she puts everything in her mouth, the mallet is not in use at the moment. However, she still enjoys rubbing her fingers over the bumpy, guiro-like instrument.

I am looking forward to playing musical games with these instruments as she grows older. I recommend this product to anyone who values music in the home!

I love the idea of these, and they do work. We haven't done as much modeling as we probably should have to get our 2 and 3 year olds interested. I do feel that the paint chips fairly easily on these, especially around the edges. And as other reviewers have said, the stand is not functional on its own. If you want to use it, you will need to attach it to a tabletop so it doesn't fall over. Over all, this is not the most well-executed toy I've seen from Plan Toys (whom I usually love). But if you model these for your children, I think they are still a valuable addition to music time.

picked this set up for a friends 4 yo son who has been almost obsessive drumming anything and everything. the key was he has a good beat. so, here comes xmas and why not. he loves them i was the hit for xmas. now you do need to put them together don't expect to see the photo out of the box but they were pretty easy to assemble. directions are just adequate, however my buddy and i got it together in about 20 minutes and his son was on the seat banging away. he sounded pretty good too.

highly recommend for anyone who's youngster (boy or girl) shows an interest in the drums. let your kids play what they are interested in and they may continue with the instrument.

The price is perfect if they should change directions on what or if they want to play..
