I thought that by spending a little more cash I would get something that could really help my child learn to hold his pencil right. I put them on the pencil and I couldn't write with it. I have been teaching school for a lot of years and would NEVER recommend using these for your child. Go with the cheap little ones or the triangle ones and I think you will get better results.

Discount Grotto Pencil Grips; 3 Pack; no. GGH03
My son has hyper-mobile joints in his hands. In first grade he was having a terrible time holding a pencil. It was very difficult for him to stabilize his hand. He tired quickly when writing. This was the ONLY pencil grip that kept his hand in a position where he did not tire so quickly, and enabled him to use less pressure while writing. His writing and his hand strength improved very quickly. I highly recommend the Grotto grip. His teachers in first and second grade also loved it, and I gave them some to use with my son's classmates. The boys all called it the Bionicle grip; it does look much cooler than the standard grips.

Buy Crayola Beginnings Baby Bob and Color
This teaches cause and effect as well as working on fine motor skills that every baby needs. It is also very cute. The pictures change color as they pop up when baby does the different things which include a slider with bell sound, squeaker button, twisting knob, and flipping switch.

Buy Hexbug Nano Christmas Ornament - Red
My son loves his "buggies". Having purchased other Hexbug Nano products before, this was exactly what I expected. The antlers are an absolutely adorable addition to this festive critter. The ornament casing, rather than the normal tubing added a fun twist to this present... though it wasn't long at all before my son spotted this on our Christmas tree! I have yet to see this product in stores, and purchasing from this seller was actually cheaper than purchasing directly from the Hexbug site itself... and it was nice to have a choice between the red, or green version. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and will likely purchase the green version as well.
The packaging is a great ornament for the tree too.
This little guy scuttles around the kitchen very fast, so make sure to keep him from getting under the stove or fridge!
The legs don't actually move, the whole thing just vibrates so fast that it "scuttles" around. The legs are just for show and are flexible so that you don't need to worry about them breaking off. The whole thing is rather sturdy.

Cheap CHALKBOARD TOPPER US HISTORY
This timeline is a useful classroom visual. Now, when kids get confused about when historical events occurred or the order in which they happened, I can just point to this timeline and set them straight. It doesn't include everything that I'd like it to (no Pre-European Events and a fairly monocultural view of U.S. History), but for a basic visual it does the trick. I like that it begins with "Columbus arrives..." instead of "Columbus discovers..."

Review of Playful Patterns Lowercase Letters Wooden Magnetic Set
We bought this for our 4 year old how knows nothing yet of letters. Other children who come to the house enjoy using them with our magnet board though and I am sure as our little guy grows he will enjoy them. They are delightful in appearance, and are made to last.

Cheap Travell & Simons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction The Trigger Point
I have been using the two volume set since 1999. It has proven very educational as a tool for manual therapy. I have been practicing massage therapy since 1998, and this reference has been the source of many insights needed to help my clients come out of their pain/dysfunction. Although it was originally written to support physicians/PTs in the area of pain management and myofascial dysfunction (hence all of the treatments involve injections and spray & stretch techniques) a massage or physical therapist can readily substitute with manual pressure to achieve the same results.
If you are a serious manual therapist, this book should be in your reference library.Travell & Simons' Myofascial Pain and DysfunctionThe Trigger Point Manual has been so helpful to me in and out of school. Easy to read and follow. I like how each muscle is discussed in detail. There is so much knowledge in these books!

LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby Review
My daughter (26 mos now) has 6 book/cartridge sets for the Little Touch and the Let's Get Busy Baby book gets a lot of use!
She really enjoyed this starting at an early age, too! It has everyday recognizable objects for little onesarticles of clothing, food, toys, body parts, sounds and movement: clapping, waving, dancing, jumping, on the food page, she loves hearing the baby crunching on the apple.
oh.. and the emotions! She loves to hear the babies laugh & giggle, cry, make car noises & silly noises, play peek-a-boo, there's a page of musical instruments that she loves... and then there's a good night page.... not to mention that you can do the whole thing in spanish, too!

I purchased the Little Touch system along with the other books for my 11 mos. old daughter. While she is not yet interested in the other books, she LOVES this one. I think the pictures of real life babies and real objects are more appealing to her than the animation art in the other books. She claps, dances, etc. along with the babies in the book. Though she is too young to "push" on the pages to activate them, I push on the objects she reaches toward. I would encourage anyone who purchased the Little Touch for an infant or young toddler to try this book before giving up and putting the toy aside. This is the Little Touch book for little ones!Best Deals for LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby
I love the book and the way it reads to you, but the age group is off. at 6 months and now at 14 months my son just trys to tear it up. he does love the noices though. maybe he will be ready for it a little later on.Honest reviews on LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby
I Purchased the Little Touch LeapPad for DD's 1st Birthday (September 2005). I was worried after reading the reviews on the system that she was too young and would not take to the system. She loves the system and this book! I think Let's get Busy Baby,& Animal Dance are great for children under 18 months b/c it is colorful, has other babies or (animals), singing, clapping, and jumping. These books are age approicate! My daughter also enjoys the book that came with the system One Bear in the Bedroom. She has some of the other books but they do not captivate her like the ones mention above. I am saving those for when she turns 18 months.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby
We have a lot of these books and this is the best one. My 16 month old has been playing with it for a few months but now can "remember" favorite pages. This book teaches children to categorize objects and teaches them the names of many everyday items. We use all three levels (sounds, words/phrases, stories) depending on his mood. The goodnight page is last, perfect for before bed.Friday, September 26, 2014

Just received this as a gift and can't wait to use it in the classroom. It is even better up close. Even has a couple extra storage pockets at the bottom.
Kids are gonna love it.As a literacy specialist, I do reading intervention with many ELLs. The colorful pictures really help support my students and expand their daily vocabulary. We already do other forms of word ladders (on whiteboards, using context on worksheets, etc.). It's nice for them to make words kinesthetically and see how words are phonetically related. My students have told me that they really like using this word ladder; it is very engaging even to third graders. I was, however, surprised at how large it is. It's the perfect size for a classroom, but a bit large for a little office.

Review of Learning Resources Early Science Explorer's Set
I really only purchased this for the magnifier, as other reviews said the tweezers were useless anyway. As one person noted,
the optics are a little fuzzy, but this is a TOY, not a tool, and the magnification is good enough that my 3 yr old grandson will simply be fascinated with the magnification effects, not only with bugs, but with everything.

My son is 15 months and LOVES this set! It is very sturdy, he has dropped the magnifying glass several times and it's still in one piece. I'm happy it's going to be around for a long time for him to play with.Honest reviews on Learning Resources Early Science Explorer's Set
This is great for the little explorer! Both pieces are made of highly durable plastic that will hold up to rough playing in little hands. The tweezers are a little hard to squeeze completely closed for my 3 year old, but he's able to get it most of the way and has been picking up thicker objects, like his foam letters to "inspect" and move them. There is a ring on the back of the magnifying glass that will pop out so it can stand up, but he really hasn't been interested in that so we just leave it closed. The glass does magnify much more than the last one he had and he loves being able to blow up pictures, words, and faces to make them look huge! My 1 year old has even gotten in on the action and picks it up to look at things. The "glass," which is more of an acrylic, does scratch easily though. We've had it for nearly a week and it has about 5 or 6 scratches on it already. He doesn't seem to mind though and is still happy to use it to explore his world.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Learning Resources Early Science Explorer's Set
Bad Optics and Tweezers too large and hard to squeeze. Maybe I expected too much, but when I looked through this it was really hard to find a sweet spot where a large amount of the field was in focus. Can't imagine a kid doing it.Monday, August 18, 2014
Reviews of 3B Scientific Glossy Paper Human Muscle Anatomical Chart
I received this poster only 2 days after ordering it thanks to amazon prime. Perfect for anyone entering the medical field and wants a quick and easy visual for a muscles general location. Even though this isn't Netter's Atlas, it covers most every superficial muscle, a majority of deep muscles, and even some bony landmarks and foramen. I highly recommend this to other PT's and anyone taking gross anatomy.Im taking bio 151 at ecc. were doing the muscular system for now and this is very helpful in memorizing all the different muscles. I'd recommend it to anyone who has to take human anatomy.
LeapFrog Turbo Extreme 2nd Grade Math/Spelling Cartridge Reviews
This has been VERY helpful in teaching my second grader her math facts off of the top of her head. She was still counting on her fingers. This has helped her get out of this habit and she's able to recite more math facts off of the top of her head since she's been "playing" with it. Fabulous, I highly recommend it!!

Moleskine Passions Film Journal/Carnet Films Review
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The 5" by 8", 240-page Film Journal notebook is part of Moleskine's Passions series that also include issues for Recipes, Wellness, Books, Wines and Music. We live in a world where not too many of us can find the time to write down their thoughts, with a pen and on paper but, again, the Moleskines aren't for everyone. To the extent that there are people who not only love to write but love to write specifically about the movies they watch, the Passions series Film Journal is a notebook dream come true. But, let's examine what one gets.
First and foremost this is a Moleskine, and it's very much true to its tradition of look, feel and quality. It comes with the traditional and most useful elastic band, nice cardboard binding that allows it to lie flat when opened without cracking the spine, excellent quality paper, rounded corners, THREE ribbon bookmarks and the 2-pocket mini accordion file inside the back cover.
Now, this being a Film Journal, it includes a listing of a few dozen major film festivals, sorted by continent and location, an event planner, personal tabbed pages under half a dozen tabs with preprinted tab stickers to be found inside the accordion file. The main section is, of course, the movie journal. Alphabetically organized, it provides one page per movie with sections for recording the movie's title, country and year, awards won, directors, actors, quotes, notes, opinion and rating. For a movie lover who loves to write, can't get much better than this.
I love this notebook for its quality make, its design and for its familiar look and feel. But I am repeating myself. It's a 5-star item without hesitation.
In other words, it doesn't make me feel like I had accomplished writing a lot of reviews as I would've if only I could write down my entries chronologically and see what I had written page after page. The alphabetization is a weak feature for me especially because in the back pages they already have blank index of the movies so why the alphabetized tabs especially when you can only review a limited number of six films under each letter?
To fill this journal with your valuable insights about the movies you watch, you got to watch movies with titles that you can equally distribute across twenty-six letters multiplied by rooms for six films. But the question is, what happens once you run out of room under certain tabs?
With an already efficient pagination and a blank index in the back, what's actually the great benefit of the limited alphabetized tabs?
About a month later though, I started another script and thought about my moleskin journal and started filling in the details on page one from day one. The point of something like this is twofold:
1. It directs your pen to a specific thought when you have an idea and the object is to be specific.
2. Portability. Yeah, other journals are, too, but i kept remembering i had this crazy little thing and kept putting notes into it.
Maybe it's novelty, maybe it's a fad. I don't know. But I'm getting ready to purchase my third one now as I'll be starting a new script in November. If you use it to contain and direct yourself, you'll appreciate the results.
The notebook is well crafted with themed incised designs in the embossed black leather-like cover. An elastic slips over the long end to keep the book closed and loose items from falling out, and the pages are acid free.
If you are a film buff and like to record your reviews and notes on what you've seen or what you'd like to see, this is the journal for you.

I've been happily using Moleskine notebooks and this is the first time I'm using a Passions Journal. I like the minimalist concept and the quality of paper. However, the alphabetized tabs of six review pages each seems more of a LIABILITY than an asset to me. Why? So far, I have already watched and reviewed five movies and my journal still feels and looks empty because they're scattered everywhere following the stringent alphabetization of the titles of the movies that you watch. In other words, it doesn't make me feel like I had accomplished writing a lot of reviews as I would've if only I could write down my entries chronologically and see what I had written page after page. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I try to crank out two three film scripts a year and after doing this diligently for the last several years, I thought I had my process of creation down pat. I'm a writer who likes routine and repeating my steps along the way to get to the end even if one story is vastly different than the other. I was a bit hesitant when I saw this product and it got to my house. I'll be honest and tell you that I even laughed a bit. At first glance I thought it was silly.About a month later though, I started another script and thought about my moleskin journal and started filling in the details on page one from day one. I have a chronic condition that sometimes makes me feel awful and puts me in bed for days at a time. When I have times like that i watch a lot of TV. More recently I got a Roku player so I could enjoy more movies that I have wanted to see. Soon, however, I found that if I watched a movie when I was at my illest I would forget and tried to re-watch the same movies over and over. So now I write down all the movies I watch. I love this journal and the only thing I would do a bit different is put less customized options at the end and a few more lettered tab pages in the front. The only reason I say this is that I seem to have a penchant for movies starting with the letter S and it's already full! I will end up using the customized portion for overflow so it's not a big problem. Basically it just simply means your Moleskine Film Journal will be flexible and grow to be whatever you need it to be!Saturday, July 26, 2014
