I bought these for my 22-month old daughter. I should have ordered these for her a long time ago, I think any baby 6 months or over would love these. They are VERY durable, heavy plastic. They are different colors with different designs on top and different shapes on the bottom. When my 22-month old got these, I thought she might be too old for them, but she loves them! She also likes to put other toys inside, etc. Toys R Us had no stackers and I had looked places, I think stackers in general are hard to find, I'm so glad I found these.

I bought these before my daughter was born and gave it to her when she was five month old. She start playing with them immediately and she is still playing with them (she is 10 month now). I stack them for her to take them apart, put small things in each one for her to take out. They also make perfect bath time toys your baby will be busy picking them up and sunk them in water. It is the cheapest thing I bought so far and she keeps having fun with them.

We bought these stacking cups to take to China for our adoption, because they are very compact when nested. Our new son , loves stacking them, and concentrates very hard on which ones fit together. The colors are great, and our kids can play with them in the tub. The only drawback is that there isn't any versatility. The cups stack in a particular order, and that is it. They are probably more educational than fun, since there are different geometric shapes on the bottoms of each cup, and different colored patterns on the rims.

I can't believe that my one year old can spend so much time playing with cups! He will stack them and nest them. You can hide things under them or use them in the tub. It is a pre math skill. They are easy to transport and very good quality. I great gift for a young toddler. My only complaint was that they were so hard to find. The only place I could find a good quality product was online.

Stacking cups are my boys favorite toys. We bought 2 types, this one and some with holes in them to let water drain out.

My complaint with both types is if you lose a cup, they become rather useless, because you need all of them in order to stack them. Must go in order. But that is true of both of our sets.

They are a quality plastic, and my boys LOVE them. They learn so much from them, and it is appropriate for a wide age range. They started really early (6 months I think?) putting one cup inside another cup, like the smallest one inside the biggest one, but now at 15 months they can stack 3 cups, then take it apart and nest them. They also put small toys in them, and again, this is something they start doing very early, but they are still great learning toys for toddlers as well.

The ones with holes are perhaps better bath toys though, because they can see the water drain out, but these are heavier, and more interesting with the different shaped bottoms and designs. Also there is something to be said for being able to pour the water out if used as a bath toy.

Get like 4 sets of stacking cups. There are some at Ikea for $2.50, so get 2 of those, then get some with holes in them, and get these. There is no better infant / early toddler toy then stacking/nesting cups.

My nephew is 6 and loves the weather. His favorite "job" in kindergarten is to be the meteorologist for the week. They track how many days are rainy, sunny, etc. For his birthday, we gave him this gift, and it was his favorite birthday gift. Now he can do be the meteorologist at home too! They might get it laminated so that it will last longer.

I fell in love with the sound of the Super Dry Studio Tambourine the first time I picked it up. It's kind of hard to describe the sound. It's both old-world sounding, like that of a primitive unrefined instrument, yet can at the same time be have a modern and brash industrial feel. It's probably the closest you can get to sounding like rattling scrap metal while still retaining a musical tone.

We love this book! It is a great beginning sign language book for young children. It has several pages of card-size illustrations with words and descriptions of how to do the sign. They are easy to copy and cut out for bulletin board and/or child's personal dictionary or to create sign cards. The drawings are black and white, clear, with a diversity of children, and very appealing to a young child. The chapters are thematic with lesson ideas. My daughter loves the book. I only wish there was more! My little one is learning sign to communicate and this book has been wonderful to engage her.

Ordered this set for a 4-year old who had expressed a lot of interest in playing. Was pleased to see when it arrived that it was an actual, well-constructed drum kit. It's probably the equivalent of an entry-priced drum set only scaled down, definitely not a toy. My son is enjoying it so far and I can even sit on the mini-throne and have a good time teaching him different beats.

Overall we love this piano. It's perfect for my home and for my child, a typical two-year-old girl who loves music. We bought ours for around $80 with free shipping (from an Amazon seller). It's positively adorable and my daughter loves sitting on the bench which is just her size, and she loves experimenting with sound.

As others have noted, this is a xylophone-piano. Rather than strings, it has rods. Presumably that is to improve durability and keep us from having to tune it. This does have a big effect on the sound, though. If sound is very important to you, you will probably need to go for an electronic keyboard, though that wouldn't have nearly the aesthetic quality in the playroom.

The look and quality of the materials are better than average for most toys (I can't compare to other children's pianos). We usually buy Melissa and Doug, Haba, Target brands, and others. I would say this compares well.

The size of the piano would fit most children aged 18 months to four years as an upper limit for comfort. I realize it says "3+" because of the testing laws for children under three, but I think that for most typical children under an adult's supervision, this is not going to present a big danger at any age.

I would not buy this piano for a child over four. Unless the child was on the small side, they would already be too big for it, or outgrow it within a year.

My little "Schroeder" is 18 months and he LOVES this toy piano. The piano itself is very cute and classic looking. It really is a miniature baby grand. The keys are easy for kids to play on and they are quite soft-sounding which is a good thing since most toddlers don't quite know the difference between playing and pounding! My kid learned to sit on the bench rather quickly and enjoys sitting and playing the keys several times a day. For a kid that tires of toys rather quickly, I'd call this toy piano a success.

Shipping was easy and fairly quick and setting up took no time at all.

Purchased this one for my 3 year old Granddaughter...She said she wanted a piano, and when we showed it to her on the computer, we asked her if she wanted the pink one or the black one. She whispered "The black one". I found that interesting..I believe she has seen a "real" piano and it must have impressed her a lot. She wanted a "real" piano. Although 2 of the keys on the higher notes tend to stick together, hopefully over time, they may settle in.. This is well made for a toy and she immediately sat down and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and "played" her piano. She loves it..and hopefully it may encourage her artistic nature..you never know what impresses children. And the price was fantastic! Thanks. I do have a video of her playing, but didn't want to put it out there without her mother's permission. It's adorable, though. Trust me.

My husband and I were looking at a number of different kid size pianos for our "Santa" gift for our 2.5 yr old. She loves here little digital Casio keyboard and her Grandma's big piano. Since we want to capitalize on her love of music and get her going, we wanted to get a piano. This is beautifully made and super solid. Unfortunately, we did not understand that it was not going to sound anything like a piano. It sounds clangy and chimy since it is a plastic hammer hitting a thin metal rod. We made the mistake of waiting until Xmas Eve to put it together and try it. Had we more intelligently done it sooner, we would have returned it and spent half the money on the digital one with karaoke mike. Our daughter bangs on it periodically but is not as excited about it as the digital we hoped to say goodbye to and other pianos she's been around.

I was a little disappointed when I assembled the Schoenhut 30-kay Classic Baby Grand for my son -on 2 accounts: key action and paint fumes.

First, the odor of paint / thinner was disconcerting. While unpacking and assembling I found the odor of fresh paint / varnish overwhelming and felt very uneasy about having this item in my infant son's playroom (much less seating him at it). It was only then that I noticed the "Made in China" tagline.

Please understand, I grew up in a wood shop staining and varnishing wood projects. I am NOT, by any means, overly sensitive to these vapors. (In fact, I tend to enjoy them ... but not for infants.)

These vapors were VERY STRONG and filled our entire dining room -almost as if I were applying a fresh coat right there. Actually sitting AT the piano, the vapors were so strong that they began to cause me to feel those very familiar symptoms of warm nose and lips.

Even after wiping down the entire piano with a Clorox wipe, the vapors were still notable but less alarming.

SECOND, don't be confused by the elaborate shell and lovely paint: This is very much a toy piano. The keyboard is no better than you would find in a $20 toy piano. Keys shift wildly from side to side and it's hard to play a note without actuating an adjacent hammer. I wasn't expecting the same action as an actual piano, but I was disappointed to find the same key action as a cheap toy piano. I guess I was expecting something in between.

It seems to me that they could easily improve the keyboard action with a few simple, low cost changes -gluing a strip of flanel or felt between each key, for example.

I chose to buy this shape sorter for my 12 month old because it is solid wood and the shapes only fit through their own holes. This is important, because MANY shape sorters have more shapes, but they will frequently fit through more than one shape hole.

This toy good for Montessori-style learning, because it has the natural control of error.

This toy is simple, but good quality, and my daughter loves it.

The lid is not attached, like some, but that's fine. We play with it togther and she has almost as much fun matching the lid to the box!

I purchased this shape sorter for my 17 month old about a month ago, and I am really pleased. We had previously purchased another Plan Toys Shape Sorter Plan Toy Shape and Sort with a very similar name but different design. My child never really took to it, partly because it is not the most intuitive design. She never really figured out the intended way to retrieve the shapes, though she did get creative and find another way! It seemed clear to me that she would be more interested in dropping shaped blocks into a container where she could retrieve them.

Before purchasing I had read a review that pointed out that this a fool proof design in that the shapes will only fit into the right spot. We have found that to be true.

After receiving this sorter, my daughter mastered the round spot quickly and is very good at the other shapes as well. There are two of each shape, so your child can reinforce what they learn when they hit the right spot by putting the same shape in again right away. The lid fits nicely, resting in a groove. It is slightly weighty so it works well and is easy to remove and replace.

I love that this toy is non-toxic with safer rounded edges. Wood toys can be less toxic but a potential hard surface to fall on, so rounded edges show that someone put thought and care into the design.

The wood is a beautiful, matte finish. It feels good in your hands. The colors are rich, and engaging for my child. I don't think you can go wrong with this one!

Update: As my child grew older, she did some of their first stacking with these blocks. The matte finish gives them some grip so they are not as difficult as the Baby's First Blocks by Haba (which I also recommend).

Yes, the lid does come right off. But for the reviewer complaining that their child has more fun taking the lid off than sorting the blocks: isn't this a toy? If they're having fun doing their own thing, i'm not sure what the trouble is. Sooner or later they'll get into that obsessive sorting stage.

This toy is very solidly built. The blocks are solid wood, the box is sturdy, and the lid fits perfectly on top. It doesn't lock or clip or lock in, there's no hinge. It's a piece of wood that rests on top of the box, and that makes it very easy for the child to remove it and pull the blocks out so they can start sorting all over again. I can't speak for other parents or their kids, but mine loves to upend the box and dump everything out, lid and all. He wouldn't be able to have that fun if the lid locked into place, and i'm glad i don't have to be involved in liberating the blocks every time he's put them all into the box.

(And for anyone who doesn't know much about the Plan Toy company, my favorite thing about them is that they use food-grade dyes for their products, so you never have to worry about your child ingesting toxic chemicals by chewing on them. They also source renewable wood and engage in a variety of other eco-friendly policies.)

My 21 month old daughter loved this since I opened it & it kept her engaged. I love the quality, all the pieces and box are solid wood, except the bottom of the box is a little different (thinner), however it is pretty solid/sturdy. The box's walls are put together by something similar to a dovestail joint (glued); this means no nails. All edges of box, lid & shapes are rounded & smooth. The shapes fit only in their corresponding shape slot (no cheating :). The box has two openings on the sides to use as handles. The lid sits on a short grove on top of the box & is easily removed by child without assistance (If you tip it over, the lid would fall). My only issue is that MY lid did not sit flat, the top is slighty warped & it wobbles a bit on top of the box (like a wobbly/uneven table). The defect was not significant enough for me to return it, however this would be better if the grove for the lid were a little deeper & of course the lid is flat. Overall happy with this product, it is well made & my child loves it. Oh, and the paint seems good, no chemical odor. Box measures 6" wide & 4" high. [If this helped, please like my review, thanks]

I got this for my 15 month old son. It is a beautifully made toy; great quality and the educational value is definitely there. I only wish there was a way to keep the lid on. My son gets more enjoyment out of taking the lid off and filling the box with toys. I think if there was a latch or a hinge of some sort, he would be more apt to actually try and get the blocks through the holes. I would not buy this particular product again but I will buy from Plan toys in the future.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson. It did arrive on time for his party. However, there seems to be a few things missing like a place to attach the strap, no ebook or instructions, and some type of paper decorations just placed in the box.
