Discount Yogarilla Exercises and Activities - Yoga Card Deck - Super Duper
I received the cards as a gift...and Oh what fun they are! The sets teaches a child about body awareness, as well as position in space. AND they are so much fun to look at...the graphics pull you into trying them out. I would have given them more stars if they were thicker. I laminated them, hoping they will last longer. The kids love working with "Otis". His yoga moves are appropriate for different ages and ability levels. The cards are large and easy to see.

List Price: $14.99

* Supports all version of iPhone and all iPod Touch 2G and up.
* Little ones can play with little risk of device damage
* Mirror on the back
* Opened with a coin
* Soft silicone backing keeps device flush to case front
* Thin plastic protects screen while allowing touch functions to work, but is flimsy and should not be given to child without the device installed.
* May work with a case or cover, but depends on the device and case/cover type
* Home button can be completely disabled, but if it's not, it is not super-easy for little ones to accidentally hit the home button.
* Doesn't interfere with audio (at least for my iPod Touch 4G)
* Cannot access volume buttons or power button on top.
* I say it's a great deal, definitely buy!
So you're not constantly opening up the case to turn it on and off or change apps: I have found that flipping the phone 180 degrees in the case allows you access to the "home" button, but the film is still firm enough that it takes a little work for a toddler to press it. You can change your iPhone's settings to auto-lock "never", but I find setting it to "5 minutes" is usually enough. If my niece hasn't played with the thing in 5 minutes, she's probably lost interest. A trick for saving battery life is to put the phone in airplane mode before putting it in the case. No unwanted phone calls, no accidental internet access. Don't have a quarter handy to open the back? A standard house or car key will usually do the trick. Some plastic links from children's toys will fit the lock slot as well.
My only concerns: I wish there was a way to charge the phone while in the case without compromising the safety of the device when it's played with. A rubber stopper, maybe? And YES, a way to access the headphone port would be great, because then I could plug it in to speakers or other sources without opening the case. If you had a speaker in the case itself that could be connected to the headphone jack from the inside, that might be cool.
My main use of this product is to protect mt iPhone while he is watching movies.
Make sure you carry a quarter to lock & unlock this case as it is a tight fit.
Here's why it is unusable: There is no way for "Parent" to tap the home button, control the volume or turn the device on and off. Basically, what this means is that as soon as baby stops using the device, the app will go into sleep mode with no way to turn it back on .... parent is forced to completely remove the device from the case to turn it back on.
This would have been almost forgivable if Fisher Price had give Parent a way to easily take the device out of the case to turn it back on. Instead, I have to go grab a coin every time the device goes into sleep mode, and clumsily remove the device from the case.

This case is great for letting my niece play with my old iPhone. The following are some tips that I left as a comment, but figured everyone might benefit from.:)So you're not constantly opening up the case to turn it on and off or change apps: I have found that flipping the phone 180 degrees in the case allows you access to the "home" button, but the film is still firm enough that it takes a little work for a toddler to press it. I purchased this so my 2 year old son could watch his shows Handy Manny, Chuggington, etc. while the family is out and about. It offers the BEST protection for the iPhone out of any case I have tried. I love that it covers the home button so his little thumb does not always hit it and stop the show. However on that note, at the end of a movie if the phone shuts off before you can start another, you must remove the phone from the case to turn it back on. I also wish it hand been designed with HANDLES in the widescreen position so when he is watching a show or movie he can hold on to handles. I do not think the rings on the case are needed. Buy the time it was released he was already 2 and not into playing with them. I have downloaded all 3 apps they promote with this product but found he is not interested in them, maybe for someone who is younger. My main use of this product is to protect mt iPhone while he is watching movies.

Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Apptivity Case: iPhone / iPod Edition
I was not sure if this would work for us or not. I found it at a store and decided to give it a try. My son has his own iPod touch and in our old case he would always reset the thing because he could get to the round button. We really wanted a case that would let him use t he touch screen but would only let us use the button. This was good in that he could use the screen and could not touch the round button, the only problem was that if we had to get to the button it was really a pain because you have to open the back and take the iPod out of the case. To fix this problem my husband drilled a hole in the cover above the button. We now use a pen to push the button but my son cannot access the button. This took care of the problem! We have only taken it out of the case to recharge it. If the case came with this hole then I would have given it 5 stars. Overall this seems like a great case and he sees to like it more than the otter box case that he had before. One other thing. I have read that wifi can be unhealthy for little kids so we just put the airplane mode on and the device stops sending and receiving any signals. This works well because the last thing I need is my 2 yr old surfing the Internet.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Apptivity Case: iPhone / iPod Edition
My 1 year old loves our iPod touch, but is constantly pressing the home button by mistake. This would have been a great product if Fisher-Price had taken a little time to be innovative, rather than giving us a case that is nothing more than a big plastic jail for our iPod.Here's why it is unusable: There is no way for "Parent" to tap the home button, control the volume or turn the device on and off. This is a very sharp-looking model. I keep it on display. The plastic model is coated with a shiny bronze-looking finish. It is 6 inches long, front-to-back, not quite life-sized. The mounting rod lets the model rotate a bit, but it can sit on center just fine, so for display purposes that doesn't matter. This model could be of sturdier construction, but as an aesthetic object, it's great.

After owning this set for about 2 years I'm buying it again, not because the letters are worn but because my kids want to make even more words with them. My kids are starting to form sentences, and even though there are ample quantities of each letter (4 I think), they need more letters because they are getting older and are able to form more complex words and sentences.
I found that these letters are extremely durable, except when the puppy or a teething baby got ahold of them, and then the foam part of the letter would become mangled but the magnet would stay mostly intact. However, I felt much safer with these letters around young children, babies, and dogs, than other sets, because the magnet is the entire size of the letter and is attached very well, so it has never come off and created a choking risk. Since magnets are particularly dangerous for children or babies to swallow, and the magnets would sometimes fall off our other letter set, which was made out of cheap, plastic letter-magnets, I threw that set away and only use these.
I also appreciate that all the letters are the same color, except for the vowels and consonants being different colors, because young children who are just learning their letters have a hard enough time keeping them straight without confusing them by making the letters all different colors. I can't figure out why so many children's toys are multi-colored, because I find it distracting.
Thank you for designing these!

I ordered these for my son to practice spelling words. They work great and are just what I expected. I like that the vowels are red and the consonants are blue.Best Deals for Magnetic Learning Letters - Lowercase
Our son learned his upper case letters with a set we had from a thirft store but we soon found out we needed lower case letters too. This set sticks well because the magnet is the entire back of the letter. Our son is 2 years, 4 months and is doing great with them. We like that there are four of each letter so we can spell his name and other simple words.Sunday, November 2, 2014

Best AM/FM Radio Kit/Trainer (requires assembly-advanced) Deals
If you're a tech buff, you'll love this. I'm building this for my Auto/mechanics class in High School, and this is my latest project. I love it. I've finished the AM part and am halfway through the FM part, and the AM part worked the first time I tried it. It sounds very loud and clear after adjusting the coils. Putting it together was an awesome experience, and I couldn't wipe that grin off my face when I turned it on and it worked. The instructions are very clear, they get straight to the point and have you do some testing with a multimeter along the way to make sure you didn't screw anything up. Great kit, just three tips:
Don't drop the AM antenna. It is little more than a bar of iron, and it WILL crack into several pieces.
Don't forget to put the plastic o-ring under the volume potentiometer.
On the AM/FM tuning gang capacitor, make sure you put the two screws on first BEFORE soldering it to the board. If you don't do this, it will cause the PCB to noticeably bend, and that's no fun.
Apparently, it is 'just' complicated enough to keep my interest--I would have perferred building my own cabinet stereo...but they don't exist anymore. So I settled for this little one. Oh yes, this comes with a small speaker.
All you technos who want to build your own radio (including the soldering and circuit board parts) that will fit into a small shoe box...this is the one to get! (it was also the only one I could find on the internet--those Snap-on and Spring Clips aren't my bag).
So, it gets my five star rating.

I originally purchased this kit as part of my capstone project for my associates degree in computer and electrical engineering. The manual that comes with the kit makes for a very good learning lab, especially if you have an RF generator and an O-scope to use. Make sure you follow the directions to a T and never assume. Once assembled the AM Part of the radio worked really well. The FM side worked OK. I had problems picking up stations inside of my school building on the FM side more than the AM side. The kit does react to noise, as it does not have a box to block it. The silk screen board is really nice as it labels the sections of the radio, but mine came with small cracks on the surface. This project is good for someone just starting out learning electronics communications.

Very nice kit. Only amplifier was oscillating. Just place the extra provided capacitor over powerconnection of IC and over the input of the IC and ground a resistor of 10 Kohm and all is OK. It is a lot of fun to build the radio and reception is above expectation.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for AM/FM Radio Kit/Trainer (requires assembly-advanced)
I learned to solder (via the learn to solder kit) only weeks before I made the plunge and bought this kit. I always wanted to build a radio! When I turned it on and heard real music, I must use the overused termmajic. Very cool. later I soldered on a 9v power supply from a cell phone so I don't need batteries.Thursday, September 11, 2014
Ja-Ru Foam Fun Magnetic Letters, Party Favor Value Pack, 5-pack Reviews
These are awesome, plain and simple! Just be sure the little ones don't get a hold of the small parts from the middle of the letters (like the B, D, O, etc.) I have my kids play with them in an old cake pan so they don't get lost and they're very portable that way. I bought 5 packs of these because they are so cool. LOL!

Discount Educational Insights AlphaMagnets Letters & Numbers Combo
Sure, a huge bucket full of letters and numbers is educational, but this particular bucket is a bad buy. The magnets are not very strong at all. And to make it worse, no one really thought of balance when designing this set of letters and numbers. Even with magnets, gravity still works. When you try to place a letter correctly, the low grade magnets and the weight of the plastic turn the letter on it's side. if you're very lucky, the magnet will stay there and just hang wrong. However, most of the letters just slide down to the floor. Maybe I just got a bad set; i don't know. what I do know is that less than half of the letters in the bucket would attract to the surface. and less than half of those would actually stay in place and upright. Most of them just end up on the floor. Buyer beware. keep your receipt.

While these sets are not a complete reading program, they offer a good base for homeschool families with a interest in phonics-based reading. The stories are a bit silly, and the illustrations are well done. The rods are an enjoyable manipulative with many uses beyond the texts themselves. The activities included with each book extend the learning. My daughter is 4 and is at the beginning stage of reading, she can recognize many words and was so ready to read, so once we received these educational rods, we began her reading journey and I must say we are VERY pleased.

My son got this from Grandma on his second birthday and it saved us on our 18 hour drive home! He loves being able to use Phillipe and Pat to help Manny with the repair jobs, and we are working on the counting and other games. As he grows, I think the other games will become more fun for him. I like that by default he can just press keys and it will tell and show him letters, numbers, shapes and colors without a parent having to get it set up to go for him. The only thing that could be added would be a backlit screen so he could see it in the dark, but I know that's asking a lot! Cheap Melissa & Doug Deluxe Magnetic Calendar
I definitely think this is a cute toy but I have some issues. I like the different magnetic pieces that indicate different daily events....for example "go to the dentist" or "sunny day". My problem is that you can go to the dentist ON a sunny day. The spaces for each day are a little too small so there's not room to put more than one event. So when my son went to the library and the doctor on the same day and it was raining outside, we could only fit 2 things and even the 2 things didn't fit well. They hung over into other spaces.
The other issue is that the board is made up of 2 separate pieces. A top piece is the calendar and the bottom piece is just like the calendar but with no writing...it's just blank to hold all the extra magnets. I wish it was the other way because the calendar is a little too high up for my child to see it great but if it were down any lower, my younger son would be able to grab the pieces off and get them in his mouth.
The idea is great. The pieces are cute. I just wish these issues had been addressed.
1. The spaces are too small (or the tiles are too big) to be able to fit more than one on any give day. We've begun putting all the weather related tiles at the top by the month and just changing them daily. That way they don't take up space in the calendar itself.
2. We, too, wish that the makers of this calendar would make blank tiles available for purchase for more customizing. I contacted the company and was basically told that if I want more or replacement tiles, just buy another calendar. Well, we found a way around that. I bought some 1-inch square wooden tiles from Casey Wood Products online for about 7 or 8 cents each, depending on how many you buy. Then I bought some 4x6 inch self-stick magnetic sheets here on Amazon. I made over 100 new tiles for my daughter, detailing all the many activities she's involved in, other holidays that are not included in the set, other special days and fun things like Full Moon, Meteor Shower, Trash Day, etc. I also include other "weather related" tiles such as "Gloomy Day, Thunderstorm, Hot Day, Cold Day, etc. I printed them on full sheet labels, also available here on Amazon, and assembled them.
3. We wanted some extra blank tiles and needed to replace a couple of the round date tiles. I purchased a dry-erase self-stick sheet here on Amazon. I found that my 5/8-inch round paper punch worked wondefully. I just punched a few circles out of the magnet material and out of the dry-erase sheet and put them together. I also made several extra blank square tiles using the dry-erase sheet. Since not all the tiles will fit on the board, I made her a small cloth drawstring bag to keep them in. It worked perfectly.
Altogether this is a wonderful item and my daughter loves it. It's very useful for helping her understand how many days are left until some special event. With a little ingenuity and customization, it suits her needs well.
If anyone woutd like some of the graphics I designed for her special days, I can make them available.
My 4 year old loves it and is quickly learning the concepts of a calendar. No complaints here...

Good product, typical M&D product which is my favorite choice for my children. The magnets are nice and I'm trying to figure out how to get more of the same (for example weekly music lessons). The squares are also pretty small so if two occasions were on the same day (first day of spring and your child's birthday) you would have to be creative. Magnets for parents and siblings should be included rather than obscure holidays. My 4 year old loves it and is quickly learning the concepts of a calendar. No complaints here...
Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Melissa & Doug Deluxe Magnetic Calendar
I love Melissa & Doug products and will continue to order from their brand. However, I cannot recommend this calendar, because the pieces are too small. Also, the calendar starts with the year 2007 and ends with the year 2011. This product appears to be outdated. My #1 concern about this calendar is safety...too many small pieces. Sorry, I cannot recommend this product.Monday, May 26, 2014
Best GROCERY CART GAME Deals
I bought this for my 7 yr old daughter for Christmas. We have had fun playing it. She likes feeling grown up and "shopping". You can use your own store ads to go "shopping" to give a change to the game. It teaches how to read ads, and shop for the best price.
