We purchased the Shake, Rattle, & Drum for our twin 1 year old boys and they absolutely love it. We know that this is recommended for ages 3 and above, but they have been pounding on everything they could get their hands on so we figured they'd love it. At their age we only let them use it with adult supervision because they want to put everything in their mouth and we figure that isn't prudent because of them ingesting the paint. The red rattle is a little loud so that may only come out for special occasions. I'd recommend this for budding musicians that like to pound on things.

I didn't want to buy any of the plastic drums and instrument sets so I was happy to find this. The drum is very sturdy and makes a lot of noise :-) Our daughter (2 years) loves it. The drum has a handle attached so all the instruments can be stored in it when you turn it upside down. Perfect to teach clean up, too! The shakers are the only ones that are not very loud, they could be a little louder as they can't really be heard when you play all instruments together. Overall, the best choice out there, couldn't be happier.

We bought this for my son at four months. This is a truly great product that has already lasted for 9 months and counting. Early introduction had produced a little one who loves music and find the beat really enjoying musical activities ahead of his peers. My son wore out the rope int he clapper, but that was easily threaded with a new piece of material. I would recommend this as a great investment for your child or a great gift for someone else.

My almost three-year-old grandson loves this set, especially the drum. The drum has a good sound satisfyingly loud for him but not annoyingly loud for grown-ups. His nine-month-old brother enjoys accompanying him on the maracas, which are a good size for little hands. The drum, drum sticks, and maracas seem sturdy. However, when banged together, the painted tambourine stick and the painted castanets chip badly. Thus, the tambourine stick and castanets shouldn't be used to make music by banging them together, which is exactly what a small child would be expected to do with them! This would be a better set if the manufacturer made the tambourine stick and castanets out of unpainted wood or heavy plastic.

We bought this drum set for my daughters 1st birthday and she absolutely loves it!! She walks all around the house shaking the maracas and then brings me the drum to beat (she also beats the drum too). And she loves the other shakers too. The age recommendation is 3 years, but is perfect for younger ages too. My nephew also has this set (also 1 year old) and we gave it as a gift to another 1 year old girl. Have fun making music together!

Awful! Loud, chaotic, no real educational value, and worst of all not a flash light! Our baby discovered our flashlight and loves it, but he likes to shine it in his eyes and our real flashlight is too bright for that. We wanted a flashlight with a gentler light and more baby friendly form. This VTech flashlight absolutely did not deliver. First, it is not a flashlight, in that you press a button or switch and the light goes on. Instead, there are 3 numbered buttons and one ladybug button. When you hit any of these these buttons, the light flashes randomly (but does not stay on), and a riot of crazy beeps, chimes, and voices goes off. We had it on the quiet setting and even so, it drove us crazy just testing it. You cannot get the light to go on without the noises. It's also super confusingly designed. You'd think the ladybug, being on the handle and ergonomically where your thumb would be, would turn the light as long as its depressed, but no, it just brings on another seizure-inducing round of flashes and shrill noises. This was an immediate return.

I bought this for my 1 year old's birthday. She loves anything that lights up and plays music. The handle is easy to grip for little hands and the ring that changes the color of the light is easy for little ones to turn. It also has features that teach counting and different animals. It is a very cute idea for a toy that will be played with for a long time. I am sure my oldest will be playing with it too.

Best LeapFrog Twist & Shout Addition, Leap Frog Deals

I purchased this item in September as a Christmas present for my son. When it was opened last Christmas it didn't work, number dials don't respond and constantly responds as though dials are always set to 8 and 2. Inserting fresh batteries made no difference. If you purchase this product I would suggest opening it right away as the manufacturer warranty is good for only 3 months from the purchase date.

My 5 and a half year old son just loves this. We bought it for him for Christmas and he loves it .....A lot of people say that it is loud but it really isn't it does have a volume control right beside the display of the number!

My twin six year old daughters fight over playing with this handheld game and within a day they have learned the basic facts for 0, 1,2, and doubles. They've even challenged themselves with the lightning round and have gotten at least 8 points out of that!

This is a must have for a child learning their addition basic facts. This would make a great gift for a child between the ages of 5-7.

My son received the Twist & Shout Addition several months ago after he turned four. It really made him interested in learning how to add and his step-grandpa who is a teacher was really impressed with his mathematical ability!

I got a version that has volume control (it actually has three volume settings) and headphones can be plugged in as well, so noise isn't much of an issue with it. It has a feature where you turn the dials to add any two numbers and it will give you the answer. I was afraid that my son wouldn't learn how to add, that he will just memorize the answers but what happened was that he was curious as to how the answers came about, so he asked to learn how to add! He's still only four and he can add pretty well, he can add up to the twenties!

I recommend this product over uneducational toys that don't encourage thinking and/or creativity.

I bought this for My 7 year old who LOVES baseball. I was a little concerned that it may be too difficult for him but I was plesently surprised that there are different levels of play. He likes the game and will some times sit down with it for an hour. He likes the idea of collecting the cards and being able to use them in the game. I would deffinatly reccomend this to a kid who really enjoys baseball. It's just like listening to a game on the radio except you are incharge! The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was I had hoped the Basball cards would be a little more interactive. Other than that thumbs upway to go LEAP FROG. I really feel like the pen and games are something my child will enjoy for a few years!

Buy Fisher Price Lil' Zoomers Sweet Speedsters 2 pack

My daughter received these in her stocking for Christmas; she was almost 8 months old. I didn't realize this when I bought them, but the wheels don't move on these cars. Instead, the cars roll using the ball in the center, which makes them great for rolling on carpet. Because of their design, they will even roll upside down! I wanted to use these to encourage my daughter to crawl, and I was happy these worked on the soft carpet surface since some of the other "crawling" toys only work on the wood floors. They are also the perfect size for her little hands to grab, turn over, etc. I think these are a great first toy car for a little girl.

I bought this for my son when he was 4 months old, he is now 4 years old and still loves it.. my son had bitten the cloth off of the bears nose whe he was little, but other than that it's still like new.

In october i had his baby brother (now 2 months old) and he decided to graciously give his bear to his little brother.. the baby likes it too it's the only musical item we have that will put him right to sleep within a few minutes. I highly recommend buying the "Brainy Baby Bearthoven"!

After purchasing the LeapFrog® Tag Reading System and having my son work through the "Ozzie and Mack" book that came with it, I realized that I would need to get him a book that was much more in line with his interests.

Enter "Kung Fu Panda"! The movie was awesome, the story was awesome and the lessons were awesome. In short, the book was awesome. It continues to inspire spontaneous acts of Kung Fu movements in the car, the dinner table and just about any place where my son can flex his little body. He really enjoyed it. A friend purchased the Leap Frog Tag for her 4 year-old son recently. We sat and watched as our boys were captivated by every wordat the playground on a sunny afternoon in Seattle, no less. I knew this would be my son's 4th birthday present. The other mom and I agreed to trade books over time. My son LOVES his. He sits and "reads" alone and has memorized Kung Fu Panda, which happens to be his favorite movie. We are not big on TV, movies or electronics for kids but this is fantastic. Highly recommend.

picked this set up for a friends 4 yo son who has been almost obsessive drumming anything and everything. the key was he has a good beat. so, here comes xmas and why not. he loves them i was the hit for xmas. now you do need to put them together don't expect to see the photo out of the box but they were pretty easy to assemble. directions are just adequate, however my buddy and i got it together in about 20 minutes and his son was on the seat banging away. he sounded pretty good too.

highly recommend for anyone who's youngster (boy or girl) shows an interest in the drums. let your kids play what they are interested in and they may continue with the instrument.

The price is perfect if they should change directions on what or if they want to play..

Just like the other reviews, our little boy LOVE LOVE LOVES these animals! The only problem is, as others have said, the zebra doesn't stand up! He will for a minute, maybe, but we can't figure out why they don't fix this flaw (hence the ridiculous drawback). We actually had to deal with a bit of crying over this, so it's not just an annoyance. He was really upset by the "fall down!" zebra. Other than the zebra, though, he really digs the penguin, monkey, polar bear and hippo. They're great to take along for the ride or on playdates.

We also have the farm animals set from the same company, and my kids (4 and 2 years old) LOVE playing with them. The animals in this set are fairly large, but they are not to the same scale as each other. For example, the penguin is taller than the hippo and polar bear. My kids, obviously, don't notice or care, but I wish they were more accurately sized.

Also, my other complaint is that the zebra is the only animal that will not stand up on its own. The way the front legs are constructed and positioned, it always falls over to its side. My husband tried to fix it by semi-gently prying the legs farther apart, but unfortunately its leg broke. LOL, guess he's off to the glue factory, huh?

These are excellent animals and my grandson loves them. I was a little disappointed though. I had purchased the Jumbo Jungle Animals and Jumbo Dinosaurs by this same company and expected these to be of the same type and quality. They are made of different material and in my opinion are not as high in quality as the others that I purchased in April. The Jungle animals and dinosaurs were a hard plastic and were solid. The Zoo animals are a soft plastic and hollow. While my grandson loves them all, I feel the Jungle Animals were more durable and realistic looking. It won't stop me from buying other sets by Learning Resources as these are the best animal sets around for the price. The animals are larger than I have found in other sets and they are very realistic in appearance. People just need to be aware that these are not the same "museum" quality as the other sets.

As far as play value goes, according to my son, there is not a day goes by that my two-year-old grandson does not play with his animals. He even lines them all up when he watches TV so they can watch with him.

Both of my kids love this toy. My two year old got it for her first Christmas and my second child just discovered it and also loves it. I love that it has both the play and the sleep modes and that it is noise activated to help lull the kids back to sleep. I only have one complaint-it goes though all the quiet and soothing and just when your child relaxes it says "Bye-Bye" quite loudly. What's the point in being quiet and relaxing if it's just going to wake them back up for you? Other than that it is a wonderful toy.

I bought this bee after watching my three month old play with it at my sisters and immediately taking to it. She LOVES her bee and she quickly learned how to push the button in the middle. The bee plays music and has a voice of a little girl which mesmerizes my little one. It has a day and night mode. The night mode is great to calm my daughter down. She does a pretty good job of holding onto it in her bouncy chair. She loves to chew on her antenna and she quickly learned to reach for the bee. It is the first thing she ever reached for big milestone. I would definitely recommend this bee as a first toy.

My 5 month old is still too little to push the buttons or to really benefit from it educationally, but it is really helping with sleep training. We keep it switched to night mode in her crib at night and when she cries it automatically comes on and plays soothing music which really helps her fall back asleep. I was really concerned because after it plays a few minutes of soothing music it says "Bye-bye!" loudly before turning off! What a poor design! Thankfully it doesn't seem to bother her! It seems like it will be a nice educational/play toy as she gets older. It does interest her a bit at this age and she likes chewing on the wings or crinkling them with her hand.

This is my grand childs favorite toy she got for Christmas. The music is very soothing. Not loud. The wings make a crackling sound when she touches them or squeezes them. She's 5 months old and loves it!
