Buy Caregiver Cards - Communication Cue Cards (Visual Picture Cues That
These cards are great there are so many subjects my son is autistic and noverbal. I took out about 20 of the most used cards for now and will add more as needed. The blank ones are great as well as I made one for school, more and help. I just label each card and hold in front of him he points and smiles it decreases meltdowns and helps with predictable directions. Cards are small enough that I keep them in my purse and on me at all times.

Best Sunny Patch Bag of Bugs by Melissa & Doug Deals

List Price: $8.99

Ordered these bugs for my two-year-old. They have turned out to be such a big hit and more fun than I would have anticipated. I ordered them in conjuction with the M&D snake magnifying glass. We play with these bugs all the time: we hide them in the grass and learn about camouflage; we hide them around the house and play detective; we give them baths in the pool or just a bucket of water; they are target practice for our spray bottles. Sometimes we catch them in nets or our dinosaurs eat them. These simple colorful bugs have given way to some great pretend play. They are good quality the legs won't rip off and the color doesn't chip. Highly recommend.
This is a set of 10 colorful, plastic play bugs. They are each approximately 2-3 inches long. Very well sized for toddlers and young children. They vary in bright colors-our set included yellow, green, blue, orange, pink, and navy. They are made of rigid plastic. These bugs do NOT wiggle or move. They are sturdy, durable, and very well-made.
I bought these for warm-weather outdoors play. They are perfect to hide in the grass, play with in a water table, or use as a "hide and seek" with a magnifying glass in the garden. This is not a stand-alone toy-you will need some imagination, but they are great!!! Also wonderful for teaching counting, sorting, etc.

These little bugs are perfect! My 3 year old daughter kept asking us for bugs. I hadn't purchased any because all the ones I had seen were tiny and would be choking hazards for our 10 month old. These are just big enough that they are not a hazard. They are also REALLY cute, not creepy looking bugs. Cute colors (not realistic), nicely made and have provided lots of fun for our daughter. Thanks to Melissa & Doug for another great product!Best Deals for Sunny Patch Bag of Bugs by Melissa & Doug

Honest reviews on Sunny Patch Bag of Bugs by Melissa & Doug
My Mom bought these for my older son when he was two. He was fascinated with "little guys" and would carry several around with him all the time. he had years of enjoyment with these and still picks them up to play pretending games. Now my youngest is three and he has taken to carrying the ants and grasshoppers wherever he goes. One of the ants has lost a leg or two (I'm pretty sure it was actually a forcible amputation ;) )and the centipedes got lost at the beach a couple summers back, but other than that they have held up remarkably well to almost five years of use. they are chunky, bright and sturdy for little hands. I actually am so excited that they still make them. I thought they were a big red bulls eye summer special from years ago. I am excited to find a second set because my little guy is very upset if he can't find one of them. I would definitely recommend them.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Sunny Patch Bag of Bugs by Melissa & Doug

Best Goodie Games - ABC Cookies Deals
This is a great game and lots of fun, but there were no letter C cookies. We cannot play as the game was intended to be played.

I bought this item as a tool to teach my son his ABCs. He is just a little over 3 years old and absolutely loves these cookies! Within two weeks he was able to recognize his lower case letters and recite the ABCs. He loves that they are shaped like cookies and he pretend eats them throughout our learning time. This item was worth every penny because my son loves to play with them and learn. It was worth every penny!Best Deals for Goodie Games - ABC Cookies
My 2 year old loves dumping out the container into various containers and carrying them around. My 5 year old likes to pretend they are cookies and we also review letters while playing. It has games included, but we have not played yet. Would recommend for versatility.Honest reviews on Goodie Games - ABC Cookies
Santa brought this for my 3 year old. My son likes all of the activities, and enjoys the game that involves the number spinner most. :) The cookies and cards are fun and colorful. My only critique is that I wish there were a few more spelling games. I can probably make these myself, but they won't be as cute as the cards and pictures that come with the game. If I were to buy it again, I would probably do so when my son is a little younger and still learning letter identification, so that he could get more use out of those activities.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Goodie Games - ABC Cookies

Buy Thumler's Tumbler AR-12 Rotary Rock Tumbler
The tumbler works great and the price compared to other tumblers of the same capacity is good. I have been using mine for tumbling brass for reloading with stainless pins and water. I couldn't ask for better performance for dirty brass. The only drawback at all is the lid and how it is retained. The lid fits in a recess in the drum and a large worm screw clamp secures it. It can be a little difficult to insert at times but once seated and clamped I haven't had a drop of water come out yet. Also not any real issue but the drum needs to laid in the rollers with the lid of the drum opposite of the motor side. I had it hand up a couple of times the other way but no issue when turned away. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if the need comes up.

Discount Sand Writing Tray with Tracing Cards & Sand
Received this in the mail a few days ago. I was having trouble getting my two year old to draw lines on a piece of paper. We're not talking "hey sweetie, here's some chalk, have at it!" we're talking can you draw a line from point "a" to point "b"? Maybe she is a bit young, not sure, but she just couldn't do the pencil/pen/crayon thing. I found this and thought we'd give it a try. BRILLIANT! Hands on and exactly what she needed to "see" what I was talking about. We use her finger to trace on the card and then we do it in the sand together and then I let her try it on her own. No saying, "that's not right" but letting her try and envision the card and the lines on it. She seems to do much better with just a few days try. Definitely glad I invested in this the materials are all very sound and durable, I especially like the quality of the wood and the cards (laminated). Sand can be colored, which gives it more appeal for the younger ages. All in all, a great addition to our at-home montessori class room.

LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg (works Reviews
I purchased this game for $24.99 before email discount directly from the Leapfrog website for my grandson's 4th birthday. He has been playing games on the computer at school, laptop at home and my iphone,so we thought he was ready for a system he could play on his own. I thought this game would help teach him how to write and draw. He can already recognize his letters and numbers. He stayed home sick from pre-K today and his mom said he was content to play this game for a good portion of the day. He chose to play Mr. Pencil over Toy Story 3 and Dora! Great gaming system for a preschooler. Would recommend you sign up on the Leapfrog website to get their emails so you can take advantage of their email discounts, too.

We got the new Leapster Explorer for our 3 year old for his birthday. I know he is a little young, but he always wanted to play vidoe games at the same time as his 5 year old brother, and it had just been released. This was one of the 2 initial games I bought for him, and what a good choice it was. He has always liked to color and draw and has always seemed to be more deliberate when he is creating than his older brother. Let me tell you this was one of the best purchases I ever made. He will sit and play with this game for quite a while, which is out of character for him unless he is truly engaged. This game focuses on repairing the town with Mr. Pencil and teaches kids to draw, beginning with straight lines, etc. I would really recommed this title as one of the first you get for younger kids with the Leapster Explorer, especially if they like to color. It's a really good first step, as it requires no letter or number recognition (reading/math) so you can start them really young, but it does progress into those areas.Best Deals for LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg (works
I have played this game to check out what my son would be playing and I can see why he gets frustrated. The game freezes for 30 seconds at times (Yes, I actually timed it)and it can be too sensitive for someone learning to write. I have watched my son try to draw on the dotted line and if he barely gets off the line it makes him start the entire drawing over. Love the game idea and really like what it teaches but it needs some improvements.Honest reviews on LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg (works
My son is pretty advancd for his age and recently received the Leapster Explorer for his 3rd birthday. It's literally the only game he plays! It's a super cute game that lets the kids "fix" the town after a tornado and storm come through and destroy everything. Your child "fixes" each area of the town (town hall, the park, race track, clock tower, library, etc) by drawing the needed shapes, letters, numbers, or coloring in different items (on this one they are told to choose a specified color from the color wheel then color in an item completely). The game doesn't allow a sloppy letter/shape, coloring job to pass (well not really "pass" but i dont know how else to explain it.) It will tell the child to either "keep the stylus on the screen" or to "stay close to the dotted line" which ever the issue was. therefore the child knows IMMEDIATELY what they did wrong and how to fix it. It is a little forgiving on some things (for instance you can draw a circle on the hexagon shape and it'll pass) which is to be expected since some kids are still very young. The voices can be kind of annoying to my ears but my son loves them :) My only complaint so far is that since my son is predominantly left handed, his left hand touches the screen a lot while he's drawing or coloring... which the game recognizes as him "being off the dotted line" which frustrates him when he knows that he IS on the dotted line, therefore i have to kind of hold his hand up a little or tilt the Explorer a little so his hand isn't touching. But that is so rare that it isnt a huge complaint at all. OH and after the child "fixes" a certain part of the town they can go back into it and it is a interactive coloring page. There is also an "art museum" (i think that's what it's called) that is a blank page and they can pick any tool (pencil, pen, paint, etc), color (primary and secondary), erasers, stamps, patterns, etc on it. He really enjoys that too. The last time he got into the game i also noticed that there are "lessons" that you can go into instead of the game itself. In there your child can learn to write any upper or lower case letter, shape (which by the way include square, rectangle, two types of triangles, a circle, an oval, a hexagon, vertical/horizontal/diaganol lines, etc), and i think they can learn about colors too. Anyways to sum it up: IT ROCKS!!!!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg (works
Please do not purchase this item if your child is left-handed. As it is not left-handed friendly!!!! It forces the child to write as a right-hander. The concepts are great though! I called them. I hope they will make the appropriate changesMonday, September 29, 2014

It is an easy enough concept to grasp and like all Haba games is excellently crafted. For the price this is a great addition to any game closet. You roll the dice and hop around on six different scene cards collecting treasure. Its cute and a lot of fun for this age. Highly recommend!I am a speech therapist that works with preschool age children. They all LOVE this game! We use it for turn taking, articulation practice ("arrrr!"), and talking about what the pirates are doing as they go around the board. It comes in a small box, doesn't have too many pieces, and doesn't take too long to play. The rules are easy enough for preschool children to understand and remember. I give this game a giant thumbs up!

Discount Awesome Deck of Awesome for Boys, Series I
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $11.45

I was one of the beta testers for this product, but other than that I have no connection with Dr Awesome, who created it (and yes of course that's his real name! It must be, right?). I thought I'd best be upfront about that, but I have not been paid for a review, and the following are my honest opinions. I cannot be bought!
My daughter is three, and shall we say challenging? I practice gentle parenting and do not agree with time-outs or other punitive punishments. I also do not like reward charts (have a read of Alfie Kohn to find out why). So finding a way to discipline my child can be hard.
I tried out the Awesome Deck of Awesome and fully did not expect it to be much good for us. I didn't expect my little girl to be interested in the cards or earning them, but I was wrong!
First, I let her look at them but made it clear they were mine. She spent happy time sorting them out into piles of girls' and boys' ones (my beta deck was a neutral deck with cards for both sexes) and decided on her favourites.
She was then very keen to earn them by being awesome! I allowed her to keep them and gave her a purse to put them in. I now need a new deck because she has nearly all of them and refuses to give them back! I guess I should have made it clear to her that they were currency so I didn't run out, but she is too young to want to use them to buy treats for her, they ARE the treat. But that is great, because that is why and how they work.
With older children it would definitely work to get them to spend cards to buy treats.
I think the deck is great awesome in fact!
It focuses attention on the positive behaviour rather than the negative and offers opportunities for "bad" behaviour to be turned around and made awesome to earn a card. My daughter has grasped the concept of "being awesome" and even issues me with cards if she feels I have been awesome enough, which is super-cute and also makes it much more holistic. We are each of us both the teacher and the student.
The cards are fun, and although it might feel sexist to have girls' decks and boys' decks, we beta testers did ensure that designs were not focused on prettiness or being "feminine" so they are really just more focused designs than pigeonholing genders. I was pretty vocal about that in the beta testing!
It's surprising how many ways you can use the cards and how versatile they are all ages the Awesome Deck of Awesome blog has more ideas for how to use them.
In all, a great gentle parenting resource that you can use in loads of fun ways.

VTech Jake and the Neverland Pirates Spy and Learn Telescope Reviews
My son was disappointed. He is 3, he has binoculars, wanted a spy glass as well. I bought this at Target, the packaging doesn't allow you to look through the eye piece. It doesn't magnify anything, it has a piece of pirate shaped confetti in it, thats all you see! I returned it, now I am looking for one that works but is inexpensive enough for a 3 yr old.

My daughter has recently become obsessed with Jake & The Neverland Pirates and picks up random items and holds them up to her eye saying "Hello Maties". I bought this for a 3rd birthday present for her and I'm incredibly disappointed. It is heavy and hard for a 3 year old to hold in position, the actual view when it is held up to the eye is very limited, the graphics are incredibly dated and grainy. The interaction is minimal. I thought this was going to be her favorite present, but it looks like it's going to be another dust collector. In addition, when left on the floor in the playroom, it is a terrible hazard for slip and fall!!!Best Deals for VTech Jake and the Neverland Pirates Spy and Learn Telescope

My First Lab Prepared Slide Set Combo Pack - Creepy Crawlies Reviews
Our daughter loves hand on Science, is curious, likes bugs, and to be surprised seeing a slide under a microscope of something that is really Cool and/or Awesome that has actually been there all along but....you just couldn't see it! We had trouble with her in lower grades in science and I learned she was bored and enjoyed seeing, touching, and watching! I got her a microscope, simple experiment book, and "My First Lab Prepared Slides Combo Pack". She loves Science! The slides are clear, they are made of glass, but they are interesting and fun and make them want to see and explore more! Every kid that came into the house wanted to see them. We still have them, they are not used everyday now(still used sometimes), but are and were worth the value to capture her attention, make her want to see and to explore more, and she loves science and her microscope now! She wants to make her own slides and put everything under the microscope!

This microphone includes two songs -and my daughter, 4, LOVES IT. She plays the songs over and over and over and over and over and over and now I know every single word to the My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic theme song. She is hilarious with it and adores singing along, so it's a home run for her. For me? Not so much, as I fall asleep with that song in my head, awake with that song in my head... :D
We had no issues with durability, although the feedback on the mic can be a little high if you put your mouth too close to it. Also, the speaker at the bottom is fairly loud and you can't adjust the volume of the built-in songs.

I browsed many toy microphones before deciding on this model. I purchased two of these (one MLP and one Barbie) for my girls who love to sing and were using random household objects as microphones. They do amplify your voice, but the sound quality isn't very good. I guess you get what you pay for. When I plugged in our ipod I could hardly hear the music. They do get played with occasionally but I really thought my girls would be way more into these. My oldest daughter likes to use the mic to broadcast her opinions. They make a cute prop for at home performances and announcements.Best Deals for My Little Pony Sing Along Microphone
My three-year-old daughter LOVES this thing. The sound quality isn't great, but does she care heck no! Do I care? Not really. It's a toy, not a real microphone. The point is for it to amplify her voice somewhat, and it does, and as a bonus I can hook it up to my iphone and she can sing along to her favorite Disney songs streaming from Pandora's Disney station. When I first tried to hook it to my iphone it wasn't working, or so I thought. I had a volume limit set so the volume on my phone couldn't be turned up past a certain point. It was working, I just couldn't hear it! Once I removed the volume block and turned the volume on my iphone up to the max, then we could hear it and it worked great. Taking one star off for sound quality, but that's debatable since it's a child's toy. We love this thing.Honest reviews on My Little Pony Sing Along Microphone
My daughter likes this and has fun putting on shows but the sound quality is just okay. Also, you have to plug it in to a phone or MP3 player to really sing along. Pretty easy to use as you just plug it in and the song plays through the phone while the kids sing along. I was thrilled to be ordering a toy made in the USA. That is a rare find for sure. Its beautiful wood and incredibly soft to the touch. My older kids ( 10 and 12 ) have enjoyed showing their baby sister how to stack the sections. And the baby loves chewing on the wood sections. Which won't splinter, naturally.Honest reviews on Camden Rose Hardwood Stackers - Square
I had been eyeing this toy for months and finally decided to buy it for my 10 months old. When I received it the stem that holds the squares on was loose.... very loose. I have thought about returning it but I just don't have time to be running around to the post office with 3 kids. My husband is a woodworker and says he can fix it. It is beautiful and the wood is gorgeous but the quality is lousy.
