Bought this as a study tool for class, and as a student did not have much to spend on it. It does the trick of allowing me to study most of the large structures of the spine, however it does have some issues. The spinal nerves are not in place well and tend to fall out randomly, the spine is not able to hold its curves, although it is flexible, it will not stay when you bend it, important features that I need to know are not even on the vertebra. So, all in all, it was cheap and allows me to study most things, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, or purchase it again.

I bought this for a colleague after she commented repeatedly on how much she liked the full size high quality model of the spine that I have in my office. Since I'd intended the purchase mostly as a joke, this served the purpose well. It is close enough to anatomical accuracy to demonstrate some very simple concepts and it does fit nicely on a desk. However, the construction of and connection between the vertebrae makes it impossible to position the spine with a normal curvature so it ends up looking like a stack of vertebrae hanging from a string with a pelvis at the bottom. Also, the spinal nerves are cheap plastic with "flaps" hanging along the seams, I assume from the plastic molding process. Overall, this is quite suitable as a novelty or a toy.

Its cheap , fairly simple and entertaining for kids and young adults such as myself. The directions were written in japanese but it was easy to figure out with the pictures. The package consist of a speaker , battery pack , assortment of knobs and the circuit board ready to attach the speaker and battery pack to. Nothing has to be soldered it all clicks together and the knobs attach with a small eye glasses style screwdriver. Its not a quality radio but it kept me busy for a half an hour and entertained for a few hours after and now I have an extra radio for emergencies.

The device went together well. The box it came in doubles as an 'enclosure' for the finished product (neat!). Picks up radio stations very well in our area and sounds is very nice considering no more than what it was intended for. Our kids love it and like to show it off to their friends but more importantly, it gets used daily. Please note, while this can be a very educational product, the instructions were in like Japanese or something -no one in our family speaks or reads Japanese. This means, aside from a few photos in the directions provided, most was completely useless. This causes the "educational value" to be only equal to that parent or whom ever was helping their child assemble the device. OF course there is at least some educational value in the assembly, alone but would have been just awesome if it had English directions and information included! Durability? Well, it is encased in cardboard what can I say. But it is holding up very well, considering. Overall, we love it because the kids love. Had fun putting it together, daughter learned a few things and she really enjoys "what she created" -that speaks for itself. Even though it has the shortfalls in documentation, still highly recommended.

I purchased this item for my granddaughter who is 2 1/2 years of age. My daughter-in-law has told me that although she likes the toy it is not a toy she is able to maneuver efficiently on her own. I got this game for my two daughters, age 4 and 6. The six year old reviewed this game. She liked it a lot, but she didn't find it challenging enough. Four year old was consumed by the game and sometimes asked for help (however, she said that the game was not very hard). They both like Dora, so the game got positive reception from the start. The game is for the kids up to 4, after that age they don't learn much, usually they know much of the stuff presented in the game already.

The Ultimate Volcano Science Kit - Make It Erupt! Reviews

My grandson is a very good student and he loves activities that help him to learn and have fun. When he heard we had this volcano kit he just had to work on it. This is a wonderful kit for several reasons. There is an activity book and an adventure guide that provides fun activities and some scientific background on what volcanoes are and how they work. There is a great hands-on part of the kit where your children get to paint and create their own volcano design. And finally the grand finally where the volcano erupts and they see their lessons and creative design in action. The results can be seen in our attached video.

My grandson learned a lot about volcanoes, where they are located like the Ring of Fire, the location of the largest volcano in our solar system, how seismic monitors work and the parts of a volcano. He had a good time and learned a lot.

It was a several hour project of studying, painting and finally taking the volcano outside to make it erupt. Though the chemicals are safe I recommend adult supervision when adding and mixing the chemicals and creating the eruption. We both had fun on this project and so did my wife. I recommend this as a good learning tool and a family activity.

I had three children working on this Volcano Kit. It comes with one small paint brush and a small set of paint colors, so I brought out a few more paintbrushes of a similar size. The children wished for bigger paintbrushes and more paint. It turns out, the paint supplied was enough to cover the volcano, and the colors were in a scheme that would work no matter how the children applied it. It looked pretty good.

The kit comes with citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, and some red coloring. Mix it together and add some water to see it work. There wasn't a huge eruption, so we decided to try one of the alternative methods suggested by Dr. Cool: baking soda, vinegar and detergent.

My son gives this kit four stars, because the volcano did not give the eruption he expected, but it was fun overall.

This is not our first volcano science kit, but it was certainly the best one we've come across. What made the experience better for us was the ceramic volcano. The last kit we bought was just a bag of paper mache and our volcano ended up being an ugly mess. I also loved the real specimens in this kit. That was a great touch, and added a lot of educational value. The educational booklet included was also superb. Overall, very impressed.

This is definitely a durable "volcano" that can be used time and time again, provided care is used when conducting an experiment. If you didn't know, "a volcano is a type of mountain formed when the earth's surface opens an molten rock from deep within the earth's core comes out." Of course before you know the hows and whys of a volcanic eruption, you do have to know about the structure of the earth.

Dr. Cool has written an Adventure Guide that tells you a lot about volcanoes. The guide has some pretty amazing diagrams and full color photographs that will practically blow your mind. Just kidding, but you will learn about things like plate tectonics, the "Ring of Fire," the parts of a volcano, the three different types, how volcanoes are classified, the largest ones on earth, how volcanic eruptions are predicted, "volcanic winter," the benefits of volcanoes, geothermal energy, and you'll learn about the rocks in your kit.

There are also some "Cool Science Facts" scattered throughout the book. For example, did you know that "pumice is so light that it floats on water?" It does! Along with your Adventure Guide there's an Activity Booklet with some "A-Maze-Ing" puzzles for you to work out.

This is an excellent volcano science kit that children will love experimenting with. Of course if you have additional citric acid and sodium bicarbonate you will be able to run this "experiment" time and time again. If the completed volcano is unfired it will obviously not look like the picture, but keep that in mind when you order. Most towns and some schools do have a kiln available and would probably be willing to a volcano in it (inquire first).

The lava "explosion" is essentially an Endothermic Chemical Reaction, a safe one, but I'd still recommend adult supervision. This would be a fun, educational experiment that can be conducted at home or in a homeschool or classroom setting.

This is a fun toy, and I am an adult! I actually bought this for my husband and we both ended up loving it. I bought 3 different ones (original, cartoon, and horror) and they are all great. We brought them to a family get together and had everyone laughing. The sounds are fairly realistic sounding for the most part, and loud, considering the size. They said it would take 30 days for shipping and we got it within 2 weeks, it came from the UK. The sound buttons are not rapid fire, you have to wait for one sound to stop before you can play the next sound. Some of the 16 sounds are hard to explain, but I will try to tell you all of them since they don't list them:

-audience clap,

-audience laugh,

-a high-pitched trumpet from high to low "wa-wa-wa-waaaa",

-a deep buzzer like you got the answer wrong "daa doooo",

We needed something to make noise while hiking in bear country. We wanted to be able to let the bears know we were coming around a blind curve on the trail and it needed to be loud enough to be heard but not so loud as to be annoying to other hikers. Clapping hands or yelling was getting kinda old.

The gadget seems to fill the bill. It's loud enough. Can't say how durable it will be or how long the batteries will last. But for what it is, it seems good so far.

Update....we've been using this for several months and we have no bear attacks to report--HA--anyway, it's held up and works fine. I customized it a bit...I only wanted certain sounds--ones that seemed loud and could be heard in the woods. I cut off the buttons of those sounds that weren't very useful and left the ones that I thought would work better (there's one of a scream that is very effective). I wanted to be able to launch a sound without looking at the device and just by touch.

I bought this for a gag (obviously) and its a cute little sound maker. The sounds are a combination of "cartoon" crashes and bangs, as well as sounds like cat call whistle, idea "bing", cash register "cha-ching, shotgut blast, bomb drop, etc. The quality of the samples are very good and the sound is nice and clear coming from this small device. It almost fits in a pocket comfortably too. Only gripe is that it could be a bit louder, but thats unrealistic coming from the little speaker. The thing actually looks pretty cool too. Enjoy!

I bought this for my 5 month old grand-daughter. I played all the sounds. They were great sounds for my grand-daughter. But ... my husband immediately picked it up and started playing with it and I had to wrestle it away from him so I could package it up to give to my grand-daughter. As for my husband, what is they say ... they never grow up. I'm going to buy at least one more of another sound track. I know my grand-daughter (and her father!) will love it. My grand-daughter is very attracted to sounds and I know she will like it. And who doesn't like to see genuine smiles from a baby!

We purchased two puzzles. One for a present and one for ourselves. We are going to use ours for a map pin board after we finished the build. We chose this map because it actually included Antartica... imagine that including all the continents. The map does double back to include all the land masses, but that's alright we figured it out in the end.

The one snag we ran into was a couple missing pieces. Which you think would mean I would only give this item "3" stars, but the company (out of Australia) responded immediately to my request. After a quick pic of the missing area the sent the pieces right away. Between the quality of products and the high class customer service -this company and the item get "5" whole stars.

Puzzle is 500 pieces, measuring 24" by 36". Pieces are easy to grasp, an important puzzle feature. Colours are vibrant and clear. My purchase motivation: Whatever I learned in 4th grade geography was so incredibly interesting...had I been open to learning 4th grade geography at the time. Now that I am eons older, eons wiser, and eons more receptive to learning just about anything, I thought a world puzzle would be a great way to sidle back into the geographical waters. What a great idea I had! Now I am so full of my geographical self that I can hardly say, "Guyana, formerly a Dutch, then a British colony, is located at the northeastern tip of South America," without feeling a measure of pride. As a seriously old person, I can attest, it truly is never too late to learn, and this puzzle is a great start. Next project is my U.S. puzzle. I highly recommend this Leap Frog Little Leaps game, Discovering Creative Expression, which features the Disney princesses Ariel and Cinderella. Preschoolers, and even toddlers and kindergarteners, will enjoy the music and learning games. They are presented as colorful, engaging Disney cartoons, and the overall mood is very gentle, cheerful, and pleasant. The different activities use the Toddler Mode of the activity controller, with its joystick directional navigation and buttons to push.

Activity 1 is "A Sea Friend Sing Along" with Ariel. The music is catchy, and kids are encouraged to both sing along and act out the words, mimicking different sea creatures. According to the booklet, this activity introduces music and singing, movement and dance, sea animal names, sequencing, and decision making. And it's fun, to boot!

Activity 2 is "Colorful Crystals," also with Ariel. In round one, the child moves the directional controller up, down, left or right to choose among the different colored clams to find hidden crystals. In round two, the child chooses which color crystals Ariel will use to make a necklace, and pushes the button to "help" string them. This game teaches colors, social behavior, sequencing and decision making.

Activity 3 with Cinderella is "The Mouse Cake." In round one, your little one selects the icing colors for the cake, and sees the color that results when they are mixed. In round two, Cinderella begins to draw a decoration on the cake. Kids can guess what it will be, then push the button to see more. Something is missing from the drawing, and kids are asked to guess that, too. This activity introduces colors, color mixing, social behavior, sequencing and decision making.

Activity 4 is "Dancing to the Music," again featuring Cinderella. Round one has four mice demonstrating dance steps to help Cinderella practice them: a sway, curtsy, twirl, and waltz. Children use the joystick to choose a mouse and dance move, and see videos of children dancing after each one. In Round 2, the child helps Cinderella practice the dance moves, using the directional controller again. This activity is great for getting kids learning and exercising along with their cartoon pals and real kids. The booklet says it teaches music and singing, movement and dance, social behavior, and decision making.

This game was a favorite for our daughter at ages three and four, and she wasn't even that interested in the Disney princesses. I think the catchy songs, the ability to control the action occurring, and the cartoon characters made it appealing to her. If the games are played straight through perhaps the time is shorter than other Little Leaps games, as other commenters said; I never noticed this, but realized it may have been because my daughter kept choosing to replay the activities multiple times, she liked them so much!

We ordered this for my daughter and I was surprised when she played it how short it was. Both the princess have 2 games each, yes there are only 2 princesses in this game. The music for the games was catchy (for the toddler and annoying for the parents) and kept her attention.

I don't know if it's a bug but I wanted to select and repeat an activity so I selected my activity and chose repeat play and it only played the first 1/2 of the activity and I KNOW the activity was longer than that. Minor flaw but it's annoying.

All in all a great attention holding game for your little princess.

My daughter had to have pink drums. It is definitely pink and pretty. This product is nice quality and she has loved playing it for over 2 years now. Would recommend this to a child who shows interest in playing the drums.

My daughter loves her other Little Leaps games, but this one is a dud. Maybe it's just her, but she prefers the interactive puppets versus the cartoons. Not only that, but there are fewer games on this one than the other puppet type games.

If you already have the others, then you may want this one to add to your collection.

If you don't have others, I'd recommend the LeapFrog Little Leaps' Play & Move instead.

This is described as being a "felt food" play set, but the items are actually made of microfiber and are much more durable than your average felt foods. There are little Velcro pieces on the backs of some of the food items, helping them to stick as Little One builds a sandwich, etc. Overall, I highly recommend this as a play-food starter set.
