I bought this toy for my 6 month old grandson, he likes the toy somewhat. It seems if he could hold it better he would enjoy it. I'll give him about 2 months and it would probably be his favorite. I think the volume could be a little louder, but it is a great education toy.

My daughter usually likes such phone toys, pushing the buttons, etc., but there is something seriously wrong with the volume on this thing. I think maybe I got a bad phone, because I even changed the batteries and the volume is still very very low. You have to actually turn the phone over and put the speaker right to your ear to hear it. So, my daughter never plays with it. I'm thinking of just throwing it away. I suggest testing this at the store first to make sure the volume is acceptable.

We got this handed down from a friend, and it is my son's absolute favorite. He goes back to it again and again even when enticed with other toys. I actually like that the volume is low. It is adorable when he puts it up to his ear like an actual phone so that he can hear it. Love it!

I'm a speech-language pathologist and I bought this game after my students told me they played it with another therapist. I work with children ages 5-11 years and so far, I've used this game with 7-10 year olds and they all love love LOVE the game. I like it because it's not competitive at all. They all have to work together and talk about their ideas and their decisions. When they don't, there's a consequence (of not getting all the horses in the corral). It's also good because there's chance involved, so the children can't blame each other. For children on the spectrum who have difficulty taking other people's points of view into account, it brings the perspectives into light. It also requires them to converse with their peers to get things done.

In terms of durability, the board itself seems rather sturdy. The cards, as mentioned by other reviewers, are small and a bit flimsy. After reading the reviews, I decided to laminate the cards after gluing them onto construction paper so that they can be used by all the kids multiple times. Hopefully that will help increase its durability.

I also bought the Memory and Mystery game, but have not yet played it.

We bought this game (and others from the same designer) because we wanted cooperative games represented for our 3 year old girl. She enjoys the typical games for her age (Candyland, etc), but we wanted something cooperative and something that encouraged some strategic thinking.

Roundup fit the bill admirably. She loves the idea of rescuing horses, and over time I've seen her start to make decisions based on thinking ahead to what's best for the game (moving a horse a head in case a rock comes down to block it, for example).

It's also possible for a particular game setup to be unwinnable, so that you don't rescue all the horses. For me, helping her to realize that you don't need to win the game to have fun is an important part of a non-competitive game.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this game for anyone looking for something different for their toddlers.

My three year old son loves the material that comes with this software. The snack game will keep him entertained almost endlessly. Kai-lan's voice patiently guides him through all the instructions. The other games included are still a little bit too old for him, but I was extremely happy he has no problems with the snack building game. We own the Toy Story software as well and both of the games there are WAY over his head.

The storybook is very cute. If you're not familiar with the Ni Hao Kai-lan show, Kai-lan has many different animal friends, all of whom have specific personality traits that cause them to run into trouble from time to time. In addition to introducing young toddlers to Chinese culture, the show also examines emotions and how to control them. The software is an excellent extension to the game, using the voices of the characters on the show, unlike some of the other iXL software.

My son loves the monkey, he walks around with it making monkey sounds. I consider this toy a hit. It is however smaller than I expected, the cubes' size is about 1 inch. The elephant and the rhinoceros are both gray so it is easy to mix the pieces. Because of this and the size I am giving it 4 stars, but I would still recommend it.

I will admit I felt a little silly spending more than $10 on a keyboard that does not have multimedia keys or any special features. However, knowing how to type properly is priceless, so anything that helps teach the concepts to a child could be worth the money. I worried a bit that the color coded keys could be a crutch, but seeing it in action, I think they are well worth it as I will explain.

First, the keyboard has a nice, sturdy construction, quite suited for teaching typing. I like that it does not have the typical "pop-out" legs that most keyboards have. I already have 2 keyboards where the legs required to tilt the keyboard have broken off, likely due to my kids moving it around too much and catching them on the end of the keyboard tray. Since the keyboard is intended for kids, I appreciate this thought towards durability.

The keys have a nice click---not too hard, but also not so soft that it makes typing tough. I would not teach a child on my Logitech Illuminated Ultra-Thin keyboard---the keys are too easy to press and they could break it too easily. Thus, for durability, the chester-creek is great. It also lack the superfluous media keys that could confuse a young kid.

Equally important, the Chester Creek keyboard is a full keyboard with normal adult layout. Be careful when buying kids keyboards, even from Chester Creek. Some kids keyboards are laid out with one key directly above another, in a perfect rectangular layout (not staggered like a real keyboard). Some lack the F1-F12 keys needed to do many future Windows Tasks. Another color coded keyboard just colors the consonants and vowels differently, but the colors do not help in teaching to type.

The Chester Creek LessonBoard does a nice job of coloring the keys so it is easy to see where the fingers must go. The "F" and "J" keys have a nice bump on them for learning to feel the home keys, and the separate colors enable a child to see what finger is supposed to go on what key, especially when they start having to leave the home row for other letters. As I watch my child learn to type (we use Typical Instructor for Kids), I see that the color codes help in keeping the fingers on the proper keys. The goal is to teach touch typing, and I do not believe that this keyboard will be a crutch. My kid should be fine on other keyboards---if anything, the color coding prevents the learning of bad habits which is all too easy.

Even better, the attractive colors make it more exciting for the kid, without making it cutesy or unrealistic. A kid who learns with this keyboard can use any keyboard. On a technical note, it is a USB keyboard, but comes with a PS/2 adapter for older computers.

Overall, this is the best learning keyboard I have found, and I highly recommend it for the new typer.

i love the idea of this keyboard for helping my children learn to type. However, it seems my keyboard is defective. The shift key does not always work to make uppercase letters or any symbols that require the shift key. Sometimes it works as if it is the CTRL key and pops up boxes I don't want. The p key is much more stiff than the rest, making me think I'm not depressing it all the way, so it's taken me a while to get used to that. Arrow keys don't work at all, not even the arrows on the number pad when Num Lock is off.

On a positive note, the letters are large and easy for a kid to read. The color coding is great. Wonderful idea for teaching typing. I hope I can get a replacement keyboard that works right.

I purchased this keyboard for my children's home school PC. I am pleased with the feel of the keys and the bright colors. The keyboard seems like any other keyboard in regard to sturdiness and quality. My one dislike is that the keyboard is flat and without tilting feet underneath. I am not sure if the lack of the tilt feature is intentional or an oversight by the designers. However, it really distracts me and is uncomfortable since I am used to a keyboard that tilts. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and my children don't seem to notice it's flat.

My 5 year old nephew loves this globe. He hasn't stopped talking about the Egyptians and pyramids and the oceans ... He's really learning a lot.

He has not grown tired of it after a few weeks. He got a lot of gifts this holiday season, and this is probably his favorite one.

It may look like a baby toy, but it definitely is not it is perfectly appropriate for a 5, 6, or 7 year old. It's packed with real information.

You won't find every country on here it's got many major areas and is rich in the content for those locations, but, for example, the entire Middle East is missing.

Great, great toy. Children in the given age range will love it.

It's possible that this toy is both fun and educational, but we wouldn't know because it doesn't work. I left another review, which, strangely, is missing now. This was my son's first request for Christmas, and it was a big disappointment. We even tried brand new batteries which didn't help. The plane gets stuck--originally just over the equator, and needed a little manual help, but minutes later was getting stuck everywhere. We'll let you know what the company (through Amazon) does to help. But now I have to find the box, pack it, print the receipt and shipping label, and bring it to UPS. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

Ordered this guitar through Amazon via Musician's Friend. It's WAY awesome! After reading all the reviews on the Debutante I was a little unsure about ordering it because it seemed the majority of people going to play it was under 12 years old, and all those bad things a bunch of people said about it! Well, I've only had mine for half a day and I'm 22 and not a very small person and it's a *perfect* fit compared to the big bulky 4/4 guitar I was practicing on prior. The sound is loud and powerful and (I think) a good tone too! (I'm just a beginner at guitar so sometimes when I strum wrong it almost sounds like a sitar, which I think is super funny cool also hehe^___^) And the cute pink kawaii-ness of it is off the charts!!! I bought this disk for my son, and he was bored with it the first night. It does not have the educational value of the original Leo disk you get with the computer. I was disappointed that the science center was choosing a seasonal outfit for Emily Elizabeth. Four three piece outfits later, and you've seen all there is to see. The art center was the same basic thing as you get with Leo, only with different stamps and backrounds. Music was pretty much the same too. I was really dissapointed. I got it at Walmart for 18.99. Definitely would not pay that much again.

My daughter loves Clifford (we mainly watch PBS). She has learned a lot from this game and enjoys it. There are a fun variety of locations (beach, backyard etc..) where the games take place and they involve a lot of hand eye coordination matching etc... A lot of variety and she doesn't seem to get bored.

Bought this for my 4 yr old son who loves dinos. Its the first thing he grabed from under the tree Christmas morning and I could not get him away from them until they were all excavated and assembled. I first saw these with a friend and decided to get some for my son. These are really wonderful toys. My son fell in love with them. I gave them to him over a long period of time, usually as a reward. Then he would spend a good part of the day excavating. My advice though is that they should only be excavated outside because they can be pretty dusty. The child should also wear an apron and goggles if available. What I also did from time to time was to show my 5 year old how to sprinkle a little water that kept the dust down but it made his task easier and so her finished faster. I am not sure whether the soil they are encrusted in is real soil and it is not indicated on the box so I preferred to put a bit of water in case it is some cheap chinese stuff which could cause ailment in my child if breathed in but otherwise the concept is really nice and quite educative.
