Buy Arrow of Light Cub Scout Kit (Makes 8 Awards)
My scouts loved the awards and enjoyed building the awards. The product was well packaged and protected. I would suggest this item to any leader looking for an Arrow of Light AwardThe parents had a party to make the arrows and reminisce about the years that flew by. The kits were high quality and fun to make. They came with detailed instructions and even a sheet to help with the ceremony.

Reviews of Reading for Details in Stories Fun Deck with Secret Decoder - Super
Reading for Details in Stories Super Fun Deck with Super Duper Secret Decoder is designed for grades 2-8, ages 7 & up. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my daughter was ready for level three. The first level is designed to find one detail in the story they read. In level two they are looking for two details that are NOT in the story. The third level they are looking for four correct details in the story, and this level made her think. She would find the answer with three of the four answers and choose that one. She really enjoyed using the secret decoder to see if her answer were correct. We even involved my three-year-old by letting her see if her sister's answers were correct. The answers are A, B, C, and D so I was able to work with her on visually finding the correct letter.

Solderless Breadboard & Analog ICs Design Kit #1 Review
this is a great product to get started if you know little to nothing about electronics. My only suggestion is to order extra LEDs as until you figure out how to not put to much power thru them you'll be burning them up quick and they're pretty cheap so no biggie. I also ended up buying a set of ten wired alligator clips which are also pretty cheap and come in handy on projects. In a short time of watching videos on youtube i have gotten thru a few projects and burn out a lot less LEDs now also i have definitely learned what all the things inside electronics are called, and how they work. That was one of my goals and reasons for buying this kit.For a beginner like myself this kit is an excellent one. It has a great diversity of components and IC's. I found myself using parts I had no idea how to use or even existed into simple projects. Excellent for learning the basics. I do wish it came with more things diversity wise but that is just because it came with so much already and I was ready for more. I would reccomend this kit.

Best LeapFrog Learning Connections Train Deals
I bought this for my daughter at 11 months. She hasn't played with it much because of my train crazy almost 3 year old son. I like this toy. The songs are pleasant sounding (nice) if repetitive) what kid's toy isn't? As you add trains it names off the number car and asks the child to add other color cars.
The toy itself is built out of strong hard plastic which has survived the dog chewing on it and being thrown around the room. There is a switch that changes modes which includes an OFF mode for parents.
Learning motor skills, my kids easily hook up the different cars to the train engine and love hearing a new part of the song. Depending on the mode, they learn about colors or numbers.
Stacking the cars is another way to play with this toy. I've never seen a "train tower" in real life, but the kids love making these at home. The best part is always knocking it over!

This train is a lot of fun. The songs are catchy and easy to sing along with. I bought this for my son when he was 10 months old. He loved trains and of course he loves this one too. When we brought it home we discovered that when you hook the cars onto the engine it recognizes which one you have put on and will tell the child (depending on the setting) what color or how many objects are on that train car. Each car attaches by magnet but is strong enough to hold when they pull it. The cars also stack together for a nesting toy. My son likes that it talks and he enjoys the bright colors and music (which can be turned off by the way)Honest reviews on LeapFrog Learning Connections Train
My 1 year old received this train as a first b-day gift. It wasn't nearly as exciting as the Sesame Street "Teach and Go" train we inherited from my brother's kids. It doesn't move unless you push it yourself, unlike the Teach and Go train that goes on its own. It mainly sings songs and you can stack it, but the parts of the attachable cars don't have any interactive parts. Boring!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Learning Connections Train
My daughter likes this toy. She likes the songs, and she likes that she can take it apart and put it back together. When you put the train pieces together, it knows what car was added and sings the appropriate song. I think it helped her to learn colors, as well as learning the meaning of "It's backward, sweety." Like most tos, my daughter grew bored of it after a motnh or so and was ready for something new. I guess that's a good thing, but it's expensive!Monday, September 29, 2014
Buy World Map 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
We purchased two puzzles. One for a present and one for ourselves. We are going to use ours for a map pin board after we finished the build. We chose this map because it actually included Antartica... imagine that including all the continents. The map does double back to include all the land masses, but that's alright we figured it out in the end.
The one snag we ran into was a couple missing pieces. Which you think would mean I would only give this item "3" stars, but the company (out of Australia) responded immediately to my request. After a quick pic of the missing area the sent the pieces right away. Between the quality of products and the high class customer service -this company and the item get "5" whole stars.

Puzzle is 500 pieces, measuring 24" by 36". Pieces are easy to grasp, an important puzzle feature. Colours are vibrant and clear. My purchase motivation: Whatever I learned in 4th grade geography was so incredibly interesting...had I been open to learning 4th grade geography at the time. Now that I am eons older, eons wiser, and eons more receptive to learning just about anything, I thought a world puzzle would be a great way to sidle back into the geographical waters. What a great idea I had! Now I am so full of my geographical self that I can hardly say, "Guyana, formerly a Dutch, then a British colony, is located at the northeastern tip of South America," without feeling a measure of pride. As a seriously old person, I can attest, it truly is never too late to learn, and this puzzle is a great start. Next project is my U.S. puzzle. LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Ni Hao, Kai-lan Reviews

The cartridge actually has three different games on it and each game has a different level. There is a matching game, and a swimming race game, and a game in which they have to find what doesn't match. I bought it over the summer for my 3 1/2 year old daughter for a long car trip and she has mastered it. Granted, it is the only one we have so she has to play it anytime she wants to play her Leapster but I think the packaging says for a 4-6 year old and I really think a 5 or 6 year old would get bored with it pretty quick. However, it has been a great investment for our family. I'm sure when she gets some new ones for Christmas, she will never pick this one up again.
I have played it a little bit but I am not completely familiar with the show so I cannot speak to the accuracy of the characters. It was fun to fiddle around with and I could see the lessons they were attempting to teach. It was done very tastefully and with enough subtlety as to not appear to be teaching without a purpose.
I would highly recommend this game for anyone with a preschool age girl or boy.
Thank you for reading my little review.
We do a lot of creative imaginative play at our house and also at her preschool. My husband jokes that she inherited my video gaming skills -I am famous for playing Quake and basically just standing in the corner and shooting myself or jumping into lava.
So I think the key to success with this toy is knowing the child who will be using it, and sticking to the age recommendations on the packaging. Some kids my daughter's age have mastered all the games on this cartridge; mine will be growing into it for the rest of the year.

compared to some of the other leapster games, this one is very short. the 3 games can be repeated for new prizes but the repetitiveness is very obvious to the kids and can be boring quickly enough. It is a nice and sweet game, I just expected a little more variety. I got this game at a half-price sale, so that was worth it, but not full price compared to other Leapster games.Best Deals for LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Ni Hao, Kai-lan
This game for the LeapFrog Leapster 2 Learning Game System Pink is a great game for girls and boys. My daughter is in preschool right now and enjoys watching the Ni Hao, Kai-lan on TV. When we bought both of our kids the Leapster 2 for the holidays we were happy to find this game available for it. She really enjoys playing the games on this cartridge. Generally she has a low attention span, but it is age appropriate. On a recent road trip this game and 1 other kept her occupied for over 16 hours! I was thoroughly impressed.I have played it a little bit but I am not completely familiar with the show so I cannot speak to the accuracy of the characters. My 4 YO daughter received this game with her new Leapster II at the holidays. She had wanted it for so long and was thrilled to have a video game device like the big kids have. Now, four months later, she has yet to master an understanding of what the goal of each game is or the motions that create consistent success in the games. Granted, she doesn't even play with this every week, and she is improving every time she plays. We do a lot of creative imaginative play at our house and also at her preschool. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. Even though the game is labelled for ages 4-6, the 2 1/2 year old can do much of it. She loves it! I think most children over the age of 4 would find this one boring.Sunday, September 21, 2014
Fisher Price Peek-A-Blocks: Shape Sorter Review
Of all the way too many toys my 11 month old has, I would say this one gets used the most! It's a very simple toy---basically just an open box with shape openings on the side. Blocks like the Peek-a-blocks but in different sizes come with it. It has batteries for sound, and the sound plays very easily when you put the blocks in, or in fact anything in! That is what is so fun for my daughter---I can fill the box up with all sorts of her toys, and she takes them out and puts them back in, and gets rewarded with non-annoying musical sounds for doing so! She isn't much for sorting yet, but I think she will be soon, and it's nice this integrates with her other FP block toys. Most any box can be used for most of what we use this for, but this is very durable, has smooth edges, and it's the rare case that the slight electronics it has actually adds to the fun!
Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised, and it has far exceeded my expectations . . . making it WAY worth the money! (I've already gotten a year of play out of it, and I don't foresee her getting tired of it anytime soon!)

I agree with a previous review. The handle has pinched our daughter's fingers several times. I wasn't sure what to do so I just tried to watch her more carefully while she was using. One day while my husband was home he saw her do it. He took the toy and using a screwdriver took the top apart and removed the handle. Once she is old enough (she is eight months now) to carry the toy around we will put the handle back on. Other then that, I love this toy. I also use this sorter for storage for her other PeekaBlocks and RollaRounds. I was disappointed though, that normal shaped rollarounds won't fit in the circle shape. Other then that, I think the shape sorter is a great idea for a traditional toy. Sarah also loves to hit it so the music starts. All around it's a great toy and educational.Best Deals for Fisher Price Peek-A-Blocks: Shape Sorter
I originally bought this toy last Christmas for my then five-month old daughter. I mainly bought it because I knew my daughter 'should have' a shape sorter for 'learning purposes.' I bought a lot of the peek-a-block items, and I had no idea she would end up loving THIS ONE so much and playing with it as much as she does. It's actually one of the toys she plays with the most . . . even now at 17 months old! The sorter is of course used for transporting much more than the four shapes that comes with it, but she enjoys the music, and the size is just perfect for her play. And she has found that it can sort a variety of items as well! I should warn those of you who also have climbers, that she likes to try to stand in it with both feet, use it as a stepstool, etc, which of course, it isn't made for. But she's going to do that with anything!Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised, and it has far exceeded my expectations . . . making it WAY worth the money! (I've already gotten a year of play out of it, and I don't foresee her getting tired of it anytime soon!)

My 12 year old son and soon to be 15 year old daughter, enjoyed this elastic science kit but instead of the car as pictured, it came with a dark brown realistic looking gun, very disappointed in having the car replaced for a gun. I was going to send the gun back to Amazon as a sort of protest but decided to destroy it. I'm not against guns but it's dangerous for a 12 year old to have a dark brown gun to point at friends or unsuspecting people.

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $149.99
Sale Price: $99.00
Today's Bonus: 34% Off

Labeled MODEL #JR15N. The description on the box is as follows:
Guitarist will appreciate the easy playability of this 36" acoustic guitar. The guitar tunes easy and holds the tune, allowing the musician to continue on playing. The JR15 features a spruce top, nato back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, steel reinforced neck, and a natural gloss finish. Free nylon guitar bag included!
I admit I only bought this as a cheep practice piece but got more than I expected. The woodwork (and selection) was far better than I expected for a low-cost student guitar. Despite the resonator's smaller size, it is effective right where it needs to be. The included nylon strings are great, the fingerboard/frets feel good, and the sound is remarkable.
Of course, it's not a Stradivarius. Low-cost features include: plastic parts (anchor, bridge, nut, pegs), the rosary is a sticker, no pick guard (not that it needs one),no neck-strap attachments, and the brass gears of the machine heads can warp under normal tension. The steel reinforced neck is not readily adjustable but for me was not a problem. It is probably the same as the steel string model but don't take my word for it. (I should advise beginners against ever using steel strings on a folk guitar.) The size is fine for a child 6-11 or as a tinker toy for adults like me; but for students age 12 and over, might I recommend the 41"Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag Natural. Did I mention the sound is remarkable? Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

No long winded review. I just want to give my vote of confidence for this nifty little toy. I was a Batman kid (of the Tim Burton era) and now my 4yo boy is following suit. Batman toys abound in our small house, making walking dangerous to those who don't watch where they step. When my wife saw this, she snatched it up simply because of the Dark Night Rises motif. What she ended up doing was giving our boy what I believe is the most important toy he got this Christmas. For 2 years, he has played with a couple of Leapfrog computers that have helped him immensely with the alphabet and counting while engaging his concentration with VERY basic problem-solving puzzles. This product has taken that to the next step with more diverse and challenging games that should, in my estimation, keep him engaged for another two years. There are several games of basic arithmetic, spelling, and logic. Also, unlike the Leapfrog computers, the keyboard is laid out like a real one and not the alphabet in order (which was perfect for learning it) and there are a few keyboard-skill development games. Portability It's portable enough as is, however the screen can be removed for a different set of games in touch-screen mode.. novel. Gotta go.. wife screaming :)

The description given for this item is incorrect. It actually contains:
30 Ceramic from 10pF to 470pF
35 Mylar from .001µF to .22µF
35 Electrolytic from 1µF to 1000µF
This is a nice selection of components for the experimenter.
ceramic disc (10 pF, 22 pF, 47 pF, 100pF, 220 pF, 470 pF .001 uF)
Mylar (.0022 uF, .0047 uF, .01 uF, .022 uF, 1 uF, 22 uF, 1 uF)
Electrolytic (4.7 uF, 10 uF, 22 uF, 47 uF, 100 uF, 470 uF, 1000 uF)
All types in individual bags.
Also, the box says the bags are labeled and which values are in which bags, but the bags are not labeled. So I'm deducting a star for that and the confusing description.
Otherwise the caps work as advertised and give a nice little selection.
My only complaints, is the bags are not labeled. So you have to reference the markings on the capacitor bodies with the index provided inside the box. This isn't too difficult to do, but it is a little time consuming.
Overall I think the kit is a great value for the cost. You would pay this much for individual parts at Radioshack or most local ic parts supply stores.
For everyone complaining about not being able to use these:
The capacitors that do not directly have the values on them you have to reference the index. For example bag 4 which contains 100pF caps has (101) on the cap if you look closely. Bags 1-3 are marked in Joules, but they completely correspond with their value in picoFarrads i.e 10j = 10pF. The rest are large enough to actually have the values marked on them bags 14-21.
It is not impossible to find the values and you do not even need google to do so. The only reason I checked them with a meter was to see how accurate they were. I can understand this being very frustrating for someone new to using ICs for hobbies.

I saw this item advertised for about $16.99 on Amazon, so I put it on my wishlist. Then it dropped to $13.75 for a little while, so I went ahead and bought it. I thought it would be nice to just have a bigger selection of capacitors, since I never seem to keep all the values I want on hand. Like the other reviewer stated, there are about 30 ceramic, 35 mylar, and 35 electrolytic capacitors. 21 different values, and 100 total pieces. It's a nice start if you don't already have a big collection of components. You might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere if you buy in bulk, but for a beginner it's hard to know how many of which kind to buy from an online electronics company. This kit came with a nice wide array of capacitors. I found the tolerance of the values to be around 5% checking with a high grade laboratory multimeter(Agilent 34405A). They are all quite small as you can see in the photos I added, so they will work nicely on a project board. If you are curious about the size and quantity just check the pictures I've added. Every bag contains 5 capacitors with the exception of the 100uF 4, 470uF 4, and 1000uF 2.My only complaints, is the bags are not labeled. Review of Galileoscope Telescope
An economic educational telescope. I have built it and taken it apart several times to educate my children on how telescopes works.
The optics are great, clear and allow us to study the planets and search for star clusters. Very easy to use. The focusing needs a little getting used to but by using a screwing action one can get sharp viewing.
I have other larger telescopes, but this is my preferred quick look and traveling telescope.
I would not consider this a toy, rather an educational instrument.
A telescope is like a piano, not many kids will enjoy it on their own.

You just need to also buy a tripod (a good photo tripod will do). It is a telescope of excellent quality that gives you the direct experience of what Galileo could see. Verify if you do as well or better than the great man. Why is it cheap? Because the aim was to make astronomy interesting and available to every child. You can pay 2 or 3 times as much for something poor. One of the advantages is that there is quantity of web sites to help you with this, from Galileo.org to noao.edu. It is a smart gift for any teen if you want to spend some time with the teen in question.A telescope is like a piano, not many kids will enjoy it on their own.

my 19 month old got this toy for xmas and he loves it. he loves to spin the gears and he takes them off and puts them to the matching color. under the gears are little pegs that they attach to. the pegs match the color of the gear in the spot they belong. very educational when it comes to teaching colors. it doesn't have the distraction of electronics.Best Deals for Melissa & Doug Caterpillar Gear Toy
Our 15 month old granddaughter is fascinated with this gear toy. The movement interests her, the colors are bright and as she gets a little older, she will be able to match the colors and put the gears back on the pegs. Good toy!Honest reviews on Melissa & Doug Caterpillar Gear Toy
My 19month old daughter doesn't play with this much. She is pretty bored with it after about 2minutes but I just think she likes more challenging toys (puzzles/stackers, etc). The colors are rich. The spinner pieces are made of hard plastic but very well made and the base is made of wood. My daughter throws all the parts all the time and they withstand her torture. All parts must be on the base for all pieces to spin together...cute concept but doesn't keep her interest much!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Melissa & Doug Caterpillar Gear Toy
I don't know why it's a caterpillar, but that's my only complaint. This toy is simple and fun. The gears are easy to spin, even for uncoordinated baby fingers. It's neat that the gears come off the wood block; it invites creative use. My 13 month old enjoys hiding them.Saturday, August 9, 2014
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo Review
In some cases the more a child enjoys a toy, song, book, or whatever, the more annoying the parents will find it. So far the "Fisher-Price Peek-A-Boo Cuckoo" has found its way into our daughter's heavy play-time rotation, but had not caused too many headaches for the grown-ups.
One of the things that she likes is that she can push the button at the top of the clock and an illuminated bird pops out. Our daughter is 10 months-old and she learned how to push the button almost immediately. Each time it brings a smile to her face.
The bird is one feature but there are many more
By pressing the middle of the clock-hands (which do rotate) you are able to play songs.
The dial at the top can be rotated to the "Sun" postion to play daytime songs or to the "Moon" to play nighttime sings.
A little side is key makes a clicking sound which represents winding the clock.
Rings are attached to the side... I am not sure why they are there, but my daughter plays with them.
The clock is not too loud and it offers a nice variety of sounds and music. This is what helps to keep the annoyance factor to a minimum.
Final verdict A nice inexpensive toy that children from ages 6-24months will enjoy.
5 Stars
Bottom line: Good buy for the price particularly if you can grab it on sale. Consider it as a crib toy. Takes up very little room in the crib standing up in a corner and doesn't trigger easily by accident if bumped at night.

Got this when it was on sale before Christmas for my 8 month old baby. Didn't have any expectations for it because it was so inexpensive but have been very happy with it. There are two modes -an ABC/counting/teaching and a music mode. My baby especially loves to grab at the little cuckoo birdie that's hidden and pull it out. She reaches for this toy every time so for what the low price, it is definitely worth the money. The music is fun and the toy seems very durable.Best Deals for Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo
Purchased the Fisher-Price Peek-A-Boo clock for 13 mo old who had shown facination with household cuckoo and other clocks. Toy arrived securely packaged and in perfect condition. Our toddler immediately began to play with it and quickly discovered the large buttons and how to release the cuckoo. She spent 20 minutes sitting and exploring the toy which is remarkable as her usual attention span is about 3 minuntes per toy! She continues to enjoy and "dance" to the music of the clock every day. As she gets older, I expect that she will start to learn from the built in educational material. The toy has been dropped many times and has suffered multiple assaults by tiny hands upon the cuckoo bird yet remains intact indicating good durability.I rated it 4 stars only because the hands do not move independently therefore is will not be useful as a means to learn to tell time. This is not an issue at for us at present but I will be watching for a second toy clock with this capablility in the futureHonest reviews on Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo
I got this for my ten month old. She loves it. The first thing she noticed was that she could pull open the door to the cuckoo and reveal the bird which starts a song. She loves the song. She has recently figured out that she can push the button that holds on the clock hands for more songs and loves that too. I actually prop this up in the corner of her crib so she'll see it when she wakes up from a nap or in the morning and play with it. The toy still has room to grow because she hasn't yet discovered that she can spin the sun/moon wheel and that she can turn the key. She also doesn't know she can open the bird's door by pushing the button on the top of the clock. I've been very pleased with this.Bottom line: Good buy for the price particularly if you can grab it on sale. Consider it as a crib toy. We purchased this clock for our 18 month old daughter who has started to take an interest in clocks, picking them out of books and pointing out the clocks on the wall. We wanted an early teaching clock that was safe for her age and also could grow with her and teach her numbers and time when it came time for it. I saw this online and the reviews were good so my husband went out to get it. When he came home with it I was very surprised to see that the hands do not move independently which means you can not point at different times on the clock. Worse yet, when you put the big hand on the o'clock (12) the little hand is almost never on another number so it is never __ o'clock! It is cute and maybe a good baby toy but is not good for growing interest in clocks and how they work! We went back on a search and found the Melissa & Doug shape sorter clock which although it is recommended for 3+ she can grow into it with a little supervision and help now and lots more learning later!
