Bebe Sounds Toy - Fuss No More Reviews

Bebe Sounds Toy - Fuss No More

This product has been thoughtfully created for both parents and children. This toy has been one of our favorite purchases.

The music is varied and plays at a reasonable volume. The teething ears are great for chewing and have a hole the size of a link so it can attach anywhere. Also, the toy vibrates (like a pager or cell phone) to the delight of kids.

The blinking of the eyes is my only complaint about this toy; when the eyes blink, the music goes a little wobbly, like the toy is running out of batteries.

I purchased this toy for my 5 month old and it is very cute. I didn't even know there was a mirror on the other side. She really likes it since she is teething. I would recommend this toy and it came very quick!!!

This is a great toy in theory if it were more sturdy. Over the course of 8 months I ended up purchasing 3 of these.

The first the buzzer eventually stuck in place and wouldn't stop.

The second just stopped working.

The third the music sounds off.

All three of these I replaced the batteries but nothing worked. They were never dropped, thrown, and they never got wet they just quickly wore out.

The positive is the features when they work. One button makes the eyes light up, another makes the toy vibrate and buzz, and a third plays a variety of classical music. My son was fascinated by the toy and the "ears" on the side are great for little hands to hold but are also designed to be gnawed on as a teether.

The eyes blink but a nice touch is that they change how they blink depending on if you are just using the eyes blinking or if you add in music and or vibrating/buzzing.

I am however surprised that this toy is listed as $20 and charging extra for shipping. I bought these toys for $5 each at rite aid. For the quality of the construction $5 is about right.

Honest reviews on Bebe Sounds Toy - Fuss No More

Babies love lights and movement and this toy provides both. The only thing that I am disappointed about is the music. The music it plays does not have very good sound quality and it is not loud enough.

I purchased this toy for my 8 month old and it stopped working about 2 months after she got it> I replaced the batteries and that didn't help. for what I paid for it, it was definitely not worth it.

My kids had a blast with this kit, but everything is really small and the wires are a little flimsy. The solar panel is smaller than expected and doesn't really produce much energy from indoor incandescent lights like many other solar panel kits do. Outside in the bright sun it worked like a champ.

The price is high but it's clear that you have to pay more for better quality. This is a top-knotch, quality toy.

Our 2 year old enjoys the stacking and actually realizes that the faces go on top (although sometimes upside down). Uses the string for pulling, too, as intended of course.

Not Made in China! and is going to make a great heirloom. Would recommend.

Both my 6 year old and my nearly 3 year old still love this toy. The quality is excellent. The colors are vibrant and the little faces painted on the top pieces are very cute. There are lots of pieces so you really need to keep track while the kids are playing with this toy but you get that with many children's toys. I would highly recommend this product and this company overall.

I bought this for my 16 month old son because he likes to take my dvds off the spindle and put them back on, which isn't so good. this is bigger then i expected and very durable. it has a low center of gravity, so it rolls nice. Not disappointed. A little pricey, but i love Haba toys.

I bought this for my baby cousin and its SO adorable!! Way cuter then the old blue and red ones from the old days. I love that it has a handle so its easy for kids to carry around with all sorts of other goodies. Very well made, large pieces for young children. I also love that its something John Deere that's pink... not as easy to find as you'd think! A big hit with kids and adults alike!

I bought this as a gift for a 10 month old. She has not yet grasped the concept of putting the shapes through the appropriate holes, but she loves pulling them out of the container and tossing them around. It's a sturdy product and the shapes are a good fit for her little hands. The latest game is tossing them and seeing their little dog run off with the shapes. I believe the toy is sturdy enough so that it will be available when she's ready for the shape sorting. The lid to the box comes off and on easily yet it stays on firmly when you put the toy back on the shelf for the next play time.

I bought this for my 2 month old for Christmas because what do you buy a 2 month old. I knew she wasn't going to use it anytime soon, but still had to get her something. Upon seeing it, my 2 year old son thought it was the greatest thing ever. He plays with it all the time. He takes the lid off, dumps blocks out & puts them back in.

This is the first time that I have ever purchased a product from this company and so far I have been impressed. I bought the Thames & Kosmos Stirling Engine Car and Experiment Kit from Amazon on sale around Christmas for $34.95. Since we have Amazon.prime, 2nd day shipping was "free." This was a real bargain since the full retail price for this thing is $199.95 and the cheapest that I was able to find it on eBay was around $54.95 plus shipping.

After placing the order, the kit arrived promptly from Amazon.com so I could package it under the tree without a problem. My wife's family is from the Los Angeles area and we always celebrate Christmas there with our son. We did not have time to assemble the kit after Christmas so I packaged the thing in my checked baggage for travel back to Michigan and here is where I want to point out one of the pluses. The factory box that this item is packaged in is very rugged and the foam packaging inside is very adequate for the rough abuse of airline baggage handling. The only problem was that, upon closer inspection at home, I found the parabolic mirror had been slightly scratched. This was not due to Thames & Kosmos but rather my fault for not properly securing the parabolic mirror mount when we first opened and examined the kit in California. So please not that if you intend to ship this item after inspecting, make sure that all of the parts are properly secured in their original positions and that all factory packaging is in its proper place.

Once back in Michigan, we assembled the kit with very little difficulty. In fact, the kit went together so easily that I don't really consider it a "kit" at all. Inspecting the Stirling Engine itself I was really amazed at how relatively simple it is and, thereby skeptical that it would work. I thought that the tolerances and heat involved would be above what the manufacturer could functionally provide with a simple plastic, glass and aluminum assembly.

The base piece is large enough to adequately support the entire assembly but I should point out that the little rubber foot pads on the bottom easily pop out and can "disappear" out of site. These feet help to keep the whole affair on firm footing because, as I found out later, the engine does vibrate quite a bit and needs to be secured on a table or level surface.

I found the sighting rod to be relatively useless. The instructions say that you should use it to position the parabolic dish properly but it is awkward to use. In order to mount the sighting rod you first have to remove one of the four screws that attach the parabolic dish to the mirror mount. This seems awkward and would be better if the designers simply placed a separate hole off to the side of the existing four mount holes where one could then easily mount the sighting rod. It is pretty easy to get the dish in position without the rod anyway so I simply tossed the sighting rod aside.

This Stirling Engine uses common steel wool as a "fuel source" meaning that the focal point of the parabolic dish is where the steel wool is positioned. The steel wool then absorbs the blunt of the heat and, as a result, eventually will turn to ash. The manufacturers provide an extra bundle of steel wool in the kit along with instructions on how to take apart the engine and replace it. However, if you run out, steel wool is pretty common and can be found at most hardware stores. I would not use an SOS pad since these pads contain soap and other byproducts which may dirty up the Stirling Engine.

Thames & Kosmos also provide an extra glass cylinder. I think this is mainly because the temper in the glass may become eventually weak due to the repeated heating/cooling and, eventually break. They say in the instructions that the focal point on the cylinder may get up to 482 degrees F. I have not yet had a chance to measure and confirm this. Also, they give good warnings not to screw the glass cylinder on too tightly as it will crack. I think this is another reason why they provide an extra one!

We had a rare sunny day here in Michigan after Christmas and we were able to set up the engine. It worked beautifully, making a nice loud clattering. I took a video which is attached to this review. You will note in the video that I mistakenly plugged the cable from the voltmeter jack and then into the car jack. The car does not come with an AAA battery and I had not had a chance to get one when I took the video. I thought at the time that I made the video that since the Stirling Engine was not under load, the voltmeter would not move and it didn't. However, it did not move because I did not have the cable plugged in properly. You see there are two cable jacks on the Stirling Engine. One jack is on the side near the generator part of the Stirling Engine proper (opposite the voltmeter). A second jack is located directly beneath the voltmeter on the base. A third jack is located onboard the little experimental electric car.

If you just want to observe what operating voltage the Stirling Engine is providing you are supposed to plug one end of the cable into the Stirling Engine jack and the other end into the jack beneath the voltmeter. If you want to charge the car, you then need to plug one end of the cable into the Stirling Engine jack and the other end into the jack onboard electric car.

I was so excited when the engine started to run in the sun that I failed to read the instructions properly. Since the video was made I bought some AAA batteries but we have not had a sunny day so that I can try to run the engine again to properly charge the car. What is neat is that you can use the voltmeter on the base to check the voltage of the car's battery. Simply plug one end of the cable into the voltmeter jack and the other end into the car jack.

For the little amount of time that I have had the system running, I have been impressed. However, I am curious about the long-term "play value" of this item. The instructions explain that you will need 2-3 hours of charging time for the single onboard electric car's AAA battery to run for about 5 minutes. That means you will need to continually track the sun which require constant adjustments. The same instructions also explain that "for smooth operation (of the Stirling Engine), maintenance is required after 10-30 minutes of use." So if one needs to run the engine for 2-3 hours to properly charge the car's battery... you see I'm scratching my head a little. I have not yet run the engine for more than about 10 minutes and, during that time, the engine ran fine.

The engine does come completely apart relatively easily and I have taken it apart and reassembled it several times prior to first having it operate in the sun. And as I stated above, it ran fine the first and only time so far that I've run it.

The only major design flaw that I have seen in the kit is not related to the Stirling Engine proper, but to the little electric car. The car is pretty rugged and assembled with screws, (yes screws!!!) so that you can easily take it apart. I also love the European look and design (almost IKEA like) of the car. My complaint is that the car has a little A-shaped cover that hides the lone AAA battery compartment. The cover simply lays on top. There are no latches or anything to keep it in place so when you "play" with the car or transport it, the cover easily falls off. Why they did not include screws or some other latching mechanism is a mystery. I easily fixed this by simply placing some plumber's putty underneath to help hold the cover in place. Awkward, but functional.

I also found the accompanying Experiment Manual very well written and illustrated. It was easy to follow and seemed to address most questions and or possible problems that one may have or encounter.

Overall, I would say at this point "hats off" to a very nice kit. I would not pay full retail for it but I would shell out a max of say around $60. I felt I got a real deal with Amazon's $34.95 price... a price I have not seen listed since I bought mine.

The Thames and Kosmos Stirling Engine Science Kit is a good demonstration of how electricity can be generated from solar energy. The kit is well packaged and comes with an excellent instruction manual that includes ideas for how to use your solar generator as part of a science fair exhibit.

The engine is completely assembled. You only need to assemble the major components and you are up and running very quickly. The kit includes spare parts so that your science fair project won't be ruined at the last minute by a part failure.

You will have an opportunity to disassemble and reassemble the engine if you run it very long. It uses a steel wool displacer, which creates a need for periodic cleaning of the interior of the engine. There are detailed instructions for how to disassemble the motor for servicing. The main downside of this kit is that the performance does deteriorate after a while.

The generator puts out enough voltage to prove that the concept is possible, but it does not create enough current to be very usable. I don't think you will be charging your cell phone from this device.

The kit includes a small alcohol burner (smaller than the one you see in my video) so you can operate the motor in doors.

If you are looking for an affordable kit that is ready to go out of the box, this is it. The current Amazon price is around $80, which is a really good deal for an kit of this quality. If you want a kit that will be rock-solid reliable and will run for years and years, then you should plan on spending a lot more money.

Well, this is the first stirling engine we have purchased. We looked at many stirling engines, and we liked the fact that it had a built in generator, burner, car, and parabolic mirror. It comes in a very nice package, easy to assembly with just 6 screws and 4 nuts. The booklet really helps. We tried it in the Arizona sun and after a few minutes it generated electricity and would have kept running until the sun went down. The cost is easily in line with all the hardware and support in the booklet. I suppose there is some way this could be better, but not sure how.

We would like to build a big unit for the backyard to generate electricity or store water. But, this is easy kit to demonstrate the real idea behind stirling engines.

Honest reviews on Thames & Kosmos Alternative Energy and Environmental Science

I can't believe this thing ever sold for the list price, as I feel I overspent at 80% off. Took forever to get the generator running even in midday sunlight in Southern California (yes it's winter, but still). Even when we did get it running it mostly petered out or couldn't sustain more than 1 volt output. When we plugged in the electric car toy all of a sudden the generator picked up a bunch of speed, because the battery in the car was powering the generator instead of the reverse! I don't know if it's bad design or just poor build quality (both the car and the generator station are made of light plastic and have a very cheap feel), but this thing fails big time.

This one has it all. It is an eye opener to power of the sun and what we can do with it. I have always been fascinated by those large solar power plants and I wanted to see one in action. This Thames & Kosmos Alternative Energy and Environmental Science Stirling Engine gave me a working replica of those power plants. It is a great tool to show young kids (in a very simple and fun way) a new trend in renewable energy.

My 5-year-old kept a science journal this past summer. She did an experiment once or twice a week as part of her lessons. The items in this kid are simple (don't expect anything intricate), but they're perfect for the younger crowd. They take less than 10 minutes to do. To get more value from them, my kid drew pictures in her journal (I wrote the question at the top, she labeled the parts of her drawing), and I wrote the answer at the bottom of the page when the experiment was over. Now that she knows how to write, she's doing all the writing solo. Note that several of the experiments take days to develop before you'll see the results. So, be flexible and set up 2 experiments or skip the ones you want to do later. Also, some experiments require live plants, so read ahead to know when you'll need extra supplies.

The only real problem with this item is poor documentation (User's Manual falls short). A small spanner wrench was supplied, but have no idea where it might be used. Having said that , the microscope yields clear images of electronic circuit boards and components. The LED light source does a nice job and is easy to adjust the illumination angle. The lens system is very easy to change from one power to another. At 30X and 40X it is a bit tricky getting left and right binocular alignment for proper depth of field. Once I discovered the ability to slide the lens assembly left or right finding a good viewing position, then all was well!

So overall the microscope is very nice, but there is room for improving the user's manual.

The magnets are too weak. When used on an easel, some of the letters won't stay upright. The magnet pulls them around until they hang side-ways or upside down. Not pleased. The SpikerBox Reviews

The SpikerBox
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
This is not a toy it is a scaled down version of the kind of expensive equipment that a scientist would use to monitor the activity of the nervous system. I am a neuroscientist, and I purchased two SpikerBoxes. Individually they allow my undergraduate students to hear neurons firing. Paired with a computer (and some free software such as Audacity) or with an iphone (and a free app from Backyard Brains) the SpikerBoxes allow my students to see neural impulses. When "piggy-backed" with a simple adapter kit available from the makers the two SpikerBoxes serve as a two-channel differential amplifier that (when coupled with a computer) allows the speed of neural signals to be measured. I have successfully recorded action potentials ("spikes") from cockroaches, adult meal worms, and earthworms.

There is considerable discussion about whether these invertebrates feel pain, or anything else for that matter. (Yes, they react to various stimuli, but whether they have any subjective experience that might be called "feeling" is very difficult to determine.) The makers of the SpikerBox are sensitive to this, and encourage the anesthetization of the invertebrates as they are prepared for use. I agree with this approach, and urge adults to review the proposed methods of anesthetization (ice water, alcohol, or even soda water) and oversee the use of the device by children. Used properly, the SpikerBox will not only teach people about the nervous system, but it will also encourage respect for, and the proper treatment of, nonhuman animals used for research.

All in all, a great product that might lead more students into neuroscience.

Best LeapFrog Tag Learn And Love To Read Set Deals

LeapFrog Tag Learn And Love To Read Set
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'll preface this review by saying my son received a Tag reader last Christmas and owns several of the hardcover books. He doesn't play with it all the time, since he likes other books too, but he has a lot of fun with it. The stories are interesting and he loves the games and activities too. It has proven quite durable, and our rechargeable batteries have gotten quite a workout (which are almost a must for this device). He's 5 now and not reading yet. I'd been contemplating getting him one of the reading sets when this Vine offer landed in my lap.

This set includes:

A green Tag reader with USB cable (not purple as in the image)

Tag starter book

6-book Learn to Read book set 1, short vowels

6-book Learn to Read book set 2, long vowels

A carrying case, which can store all the books

He's played with it on and off for ten days now, and I find myself quite disappointed in the set. The books are all soft cover and poor quality in my opinion to stand up to repeated Tag use. The stories themselves are fairly boring; my son lost interest in them very quickly and instead turned to playing the activities. There is no option to have the Tag read the whole book to you, it only works for two pages at a time. Really quite mediocre and not worth the money.

This bundle seems like a great value, but really it's not. It's not a knock on the Tag system by any means. I'd instead recommend buying the Tag reader and books from their wide selection of hardcovers. The books stand up better, the stories are more interesting, and there's more for a child to learn from them.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program There is a lot to like about the tag reader system. It allows children to independently explore detailed reading concepts such as reading left to right, letter sounds, letter names, etc. There are quite a few ways to interact with the story. You can choose to read both pages at once, a word at a time, independent letter names, word names, silent letters, sight words, etc. The pictures have sounds or dialogue for different characters and objects, which my daughter found really entertaining. Some books also include interactive games related to letter sounds and word families at the end of the book.

I also LOVE the carrying case because it keeps the Leapfrog books separate from our other books and keeps the pen in one place. Drawbacks for the case is that it could be sturdier and the pen doesn't snap in (so it falls out easily if a child is trying to close it).

There are also a few other weaknesses. First, the manual is completely uninformative. Maybe I'm dense, but it took me a while to figure out that you have to press the pen down in order to get it to work. I was trying to skim the pages so that they weren't damaged. The manual didn't mention that. In fact, the manual doesn't say much at all.

Another major drawback if you're giving it as a gift is that there is quite a lot of setup time involved. You have to download the Leapfrog program (similar to iTunes) and actually download all of the stories, then upload them to the pen. So if it's Christmas or a birthday or something, I would do that ahead of time. The pen also didn't have a ton of storage space. 32 gigs sounds like a lot, but the books included in this gift set take up two thirds of that.

The only other major drawback is that the books are expensive and aren't hardcover, so I am concerned about their longevity. There also seems to be a disproportionate number of licensed books available among the already limited selection, which I'm sure doesn't help the cost any. I don't really appreciate licensed books because they seem more like marketing than education.

Having said that, my daughter really enjoyed going through all the books and found them highly entertaining. I'd give it four stars just for entertainment value. It has its drawbacks but definitely keeps kids constructively occupied.

Best Deals for LeapFrog Tag Learn And Love To Read Set

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The TAG system from Leapfrog is popular educational toy, and this bundle is a solid introduction.

The pen itself is easy to use and intuitive. Both my children picked it up immediately. The case is fairly durable and holds the whole set of books.

The books themselves are a little mundane. These are early reader sets, and my 5 yo did not find them very interesting. However, they love to play with the "sampler" book with selections from other tag products (including branded Disney, maps, etc.)

The softcover books are not especially durable for repeated use, but I can't see any child using them so much they'd wear out. They just aren't that captivating. Nor are they at all necessary to learn to read. If your child resonates with them and learns from them, that's fantastic! But it is by no means the only way (or the best way) to help your child gain reading skills.

I'd consider this set if using the system to aid in learning to read is a major goal. If you are most interested in fun, just buy the individual books your child is most interested in.

Honest reviews on LeapFrog Tag Learn And Love To Read Set

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have 2 children who are learning to read, but in different stages. My 7 year old is a very fluent reader and pretty much taught herself to read...but my 6 year old is a different story. Because of that, I was super excited when presented with the opportunity to test this set out. After playing with it for a few weeks, our family has a love/hate relationship with this set. I have compared it to other Tag books our friends have and compiled a list of pros and cons, which are at the end of my review. In general, I'm not very fond of this set for actually helping your kid to learn to read, but it is great to play with. The books are too advanced for a child first starting to read, and that is just discouraging for the child...therefore they lose interest in it. A beginner book should not have as many words, let alone as many sentences as these do on 1 page, A child feels accomplished when they read a whole book on their own...for a beginner reader to read these, it might take up to 15 minutes, that is if they don't get discouraged first and quit. So, a thumbs down, in my opinion, for it's ability to help your youngin' learn to read...but a thumbs up for the entertainment. Not only can it read to you, but each page can have little games if you touch the pen in certain areas, the characters will say things, and it plays little jingles...those things are what keeps my kids interested in this. As for teaching my 6 year old to read better, the "Decodable Reader" pamphlets the teacher sends home (cheap Xerox copies stapled together) do a MUCH better job of keeping my sons attention and teaching him how to read without feeling discouraged.

*** PROS ***

-Great concept, which allows your children to read independently...but your child must have the drive to learn and NOT always use the Tag pen as a "cheat"

-You get a lot of books in this set, which is great...but as you will see in the con list, they are not of great quality

-The case is a great addition. It keeps the books neatly together, along with the USB cable and the Tag pen itself. I have a few complaints about the case, but in general it is really handy and keeps everything safe & together.

-This isn't just for reading, some of the pages have games in them and touching the pen to the pictures or characters in the books will result in a jingle or a saying.

-Others complain you can't make the pen read the whole book, but I find it great. Parents need to be more involved with their kids throughout their school years, but more so when learning to read...giving them this pen that reads to them will make some parents think they don't have to participate anymore. The pen will only read the 2 open pages (left & right side) at a time...turn the page and touch the pen to start reading the next part of the story. I find this too much, but others may like it.

-The pen is LOUD! It has a volume control and a headphone jack, which is great because at full volume, it's really loud.

*** CONS ***

-This is not an "out of the box" play item. There is quite a bit of setup involved prior to being able to read the books. You have to first install the LeapFrog software (I HATE THINGS THAT MAKE ME DO THIS)...and then download the books to the pen. If that is the case, I don't really know why you need a special book...but its their product, not mine. If giving as a gift, I recommend doing this prior to giving it so you don't have an upset kid.

-Even though I think the case is great, it has a few flaws...there is no way to clip the pen into it, you just set it into a shaped area, which is a big problem if your little one doesn't snap the lid on correctly because the case can open up, spilling all of the books and Tag pen itself, hopefully not onto a hard floor.

-Books included in this set are not hardcovers, but rather have a card-stock-like feel to them. After a few readings, the covers start looking like a very used 10 year old school text book and eventually tear.

-The internal pages of the book are VERY sensitive to bends and moisture. Kids tend to bend pages sometimes when reading, which usually isn't a problem as you can just bend it back...but if a bend/crease gets on these pages, it becomes very difficult for the Tag to read it correctly. If you get them wet in anyway, might as well throw the book away or rip that page out because it will never work right again. Since these are aimed at children around 4-5 years old...a little more quality should have gone into the books

-The included books are B-O-R-I-N-G. They don't make you laugh ever, and most of the time, the story doesn't flow...seems choppy, if you know what I mean.

-The pen doesn't seem like it is comfortable to hold in my 6 & 7 year olds hands. It is a rather large device, which is better than small...I just think there could have been a more ergonomically correct design for little hands. It also could have had a rubberized grip rather than its slippery plastic.

Okay, enough words. The Tag pen may be great for some kids, but these books are horrible. If you want to give the system a try, purchase just the pen and then hardcover books that you think your child would be interested in because children learn so much better when you can keep their attention and make it fun!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When we received this set, about six weeks ago, my first-grade son was struggling with his reading. He didn't like to read out loud and so it was hard to determine where he was really at. He was not confident in his skills and usually gave up before he'd really tried.

After one month of using the tag pen and books, he's improved dramatically. I think the foundational skills were already in place thanks to school, but the tag books really helped his confidence. He enjoys the 'power of the pen' but I always make sure he reads me the page before he gets to go back through and check the words with the pen. He is now reading with much less hesitation on the level 1 books, but he's still challenged by the level II books and we are now working our way through those.

You can set the pen on three different settings, 'say it' 'sound it' or 'spell it' which all work to hone different skills. For younger children or beginning readers, the 'say it' setting is perfect because they can glide over words and the pen will say the word for them, which develops word recognition. My 4-year-old, who isn't reading at all, still enjoys playing with this set because the pen will read the story to him. In the back of each book it tells you what primary skill that story is focusing on and what new words your child will be learning. I find this helpful to go over so I know what to ask him about.

Probably my favorite feature of this system is that the books are so interactive!! I thought all the pen did was read the words, which didn't seem like that big of a deal. Then one day I noticed my 4-year-old was playing with it and clicking all over the page: the different elements in the illustrations had sound effects, voices, and more details of the story! These books are really amazing. I'm very impressed by how accurate the pen is. You do not have to click the same thing over and over to get it to respond, it always gets it right on the first try. Excellent construction on the pen, the books (sturdy binding that will not be easily torn) as well as the case. My kids have been less than gentle on the case and it has held up well. It's designed to break into two pieces under stress, rather than permanently damage the plastic attachment, which was thoughtful construction considering how rough children can be.

My only complaints with this system is that, as with all Leap-pad products, you cannot use them the first time until they have been connected to your computer (it is compatible with either Mac or PC) and the software has been installed. After installing the software you then have to load each individual book onto the pen, and I believe it holds up to 10? Each of the boxes of books that came with the set contained six books, so you cannot have all of them on there at once. This is mildly annoying to me because I have to find the cord and attach the pen to my computer to change the books that he can play with. That, however, is not a deal breaker. I still really like this product.

Also, the particular books that come with this set are a tad bit cheesy. They are very basic stories reminiscent of "See Dick run. Run, Dick, run." After he gets his reading skills down, I doubt my son will spend much time reading these particular books again. However, they are great for building basic skills and he is learning quite a bit. Out of all the books that came with the set, he was most intrigued by the 'sampler book' which was really just an advertisement for all the different types of books that are available for the system. Once he really has down the skills that these books are teaching, I will probably buy him some new books for the tag pen that are more to his liking, such as Cars or Scooby-Do.

All in all, this is a GREAT system and I'm glad we have it. I can tell that it will be a valuable tool that will help all three of my younger children to begin reading.

This is a good table, quite heavy and sturdy, perfect for a preschool program or for home. My only wish would be for the company to make the price more affordable. I definitely recommend the table.
