I bought this for a young child who is a music student (violin and percussion) and she likes it a lot. I also bought one of these in the smaller version, which would fit her hands better, but this bigger one sounded enough better that I went ahead and gave it to her, keeping the smaller one to play with myself. (The smaller one does have an impressive sound for its size.) Great quality. Great value. I didn't much care for the color as it appeared in the photo, but after receiving it I like the color a lot....quite like a real bullfrog (I've caught and eaten a few from Kansas farm ponds!)....and seems to be a stain rather than paint so I don't think it will peel or flake off, plus the wood grain is visible through the stain.

Best NINO Wood Frog Güiro Large Green Deals
No one can help themselves they simply HAVE to pick this up. It's sitting on the coffee table and I bought several sizes of the instrument. The sound it creates is awesome and we all start laughing & passing it around. I highly recommend this as a fun & smart family tradition that develops musical ability.

Buy Joe Knows Electronics 1/4W 86 Value 860 Piece Resistor Kit
This set of resistors is the perfect starter kit for any electronics hobbyist. Even an avid tinkerer/engineer will find this price near impossible to beat. At about $20, you have practically all necessary resistors neatly organized into bags in a small, space saving, box. My only wish is that they start providing higher wattage sets!
----
Update:
I've been running into tolerance issues with these resistors. Here's an example: A 680k resistor reading at 734k. On the high-side of 1%, this resistor should be reading at 687k. Now if the product stated 10% tolerance, we'd be alright.
I'm also not a fan of how flimsy the leads are coming from the resistor. Looks like the adage "too good to be true" may hold weight here.
----
Update:
I've gone through the tedious task of measuring each of the 86 values in this set and here are my results:
470 ohm 2% variance
1.5k ohm 2% variance
100k ohm 2% variance
270k ohm 2% variance
470k ohm 3% variance
330k ohm 10% variance
680k ohm 10% variance
5.6M ohm 30% variance (only one of the resistors read this high, the others hit 1% as expected)
The 2% variance, while out of spec, shouldn't be a concern. The 330k and 680k, however, are way off. One of the 5.6M resistors read a whopping 30% off. I'm wondering if there's quality control issues from this batch.
Joe has offered to replace the sets that are out of range. I appreciate this greatly. It is more important to me in dealing with a business to see that the business cares about its product than getting a faulty item. In this case, I'd like to see the new batch arrive with the thicker leads as promised and with greater QC. Also, again, higher wattage sets!
This kit is so incredibly convenient. The first thing that I did when I got it was to sort my existing collection of resistors into the bags. They are labeled with the value, so this was really easy.
Some things you should know about these resistors:
* They are the "blue" kind. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it does it make it a little more difficult to read the color codes because the blue background provides less contrast.
* They are 5-band resistors. The box has a great little chart for reading 5-band resistors. If you can read 4-band resistors then you will have no trouble with these. Why was this necessary? Some of the resistors have values that can't be expressed using the 4-band system.
* The leads are just a little bit thinner than you would find on a resistor that you bought from RadioShack, or a similar store. I personally don't care. They are still 1/4 of a watt, but the leads aren't as thick as the resistors that most beginners have become accustomed to.
I highly suggest that you buy this kit. If you ever need to build an oscillator, it will be important to have the right resistor values. Same goes for voltage dividers.
With that said, I have two suggestions for future versions of the kit:
* Please include some empty bags with blank labels so that we can make our own bags if we have some strange resistor values that didn't come with the kit.
* Please include 29k resistors. They are important if you wanted to make a phase-shift oscillator (search for it on Wikipedia)
P.S.: Joe, if you ever make a capacitor kit that matches the quality of this one, I will buy it in a heartbeat.

This resistor kit is a good value for the electronics hobbyist. I looked at several electronics catalogs and hobby sites before ordering this item. The kit provides a great range of precision(1%, metal film)1resistors in a convenient and well marked package. The 1/4 watt rating is fine for most digital and many analog projects. I prefer this box with individually labeled resealable bags to a cabinet of resistors because it takes less space. The resistors are small, so the color code markings can be a bit hard to read. If, like me, your eyesight is not perfect, a multimeter is a useful way to confirm the R value.Best Deals for Joe Knows Electronics 1/4W 86 Value 860 Piece Resistor Kit
the package has resistors from 0 Ohms to 10M ohms with accuracy 1%, .25 Watts rating , good enough for most of the work you might need. cheap price, high accuracy good deal.Honest reviews on Joe Knows Electronics 1/4W 86 Value 860 Piece Resistor Kit
I'm colorblind. I work and tinker with electronics, and it is often difficult for me to discern the color bands printed on through-hole resistors. Many resistor kits do not individually label resistors, and expect the user to sort them. It is very nice that this kit individually labels each bag of resistors!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Joe Knows Electronics 1/4W 86 Value 860 Piece Resistor Kit

Review of LeapFrog Leapster Messenger Bag
WOW!!! For every complaint I've EVER had about carrying our son's Leapster/L-Max/now Leapster 2, this solves ALL my problems!!!
Here's some of the "perks" of this bag:
TONS of space!! Yes, you can fit Leapster 2, the recharging base and cord, and still have plenty of room for games and even a snack or two for on the road!! We're even storing the old battery case (for AAs) in there along with the cord to attach Mom's computer and there's STILL space left over!!
Durable fabric. This fabric is durable and appears to be fairly easy to clean. Unlike some older Leapfrog bags for Leappads and other toys, this is made of sturdy fabric and the area where the Leapster rests is padded slightly. Not enough to "protect" it from major bumps, but enough for when you're walking and carrying it you don't have to be concerned.
Waterproof fabric! Okay, if you travel as much as we do you know spills happen. This fabric IS waterproof and all compartments (even for games) now zip closed giving you extra protection against the "Mom another game fell out" problem common with other carrying cases.
Last but certainly not least, we're thrilled with the fact that it looks, well...not unfashionable!!! We carry our Leapsters everywhere (part of why we go through SO MANY) and this is the first carrying case that he can carry completely by himself without losing pieces and it looks GREAT!
This bag though small is perfect. It has a lot of space for everything including the head phones, games, batteries, usb cord etc. with space left.
My son loves carrying it and calls it his 'laptop bag like daddy has'. I am so glad we purchased this. No worrying about games getting lost or wrecked in other bags. Highly reccomend!
***Update***
A year later and this bag (we actually have 2 of them) is going strong. Zipper still works perfect, no fraying or rips and my son and daughter are not easy on them. A year later and I would still highly recommend them.

I bought this LeapFrog Leapster Messenger Bag for my son to hold his Leapster and games. It is quite roomy inside and can actually hold 2 Leapsters plus lots of games. We use it to carry both of our boys Leapsters when we are going to a restaurant or long car ride. The inside has 2 pockets with a divider down the middle. We put in each of the Leapsters and the games can fit in the zipper pouches provided as well. It is great! The boys have about 20 games between them, so I am thrilled to have a place to put everything. Great buy!!!Honest reviews on LeapFrog Leapster Messenger Bag
Bought this bag because we have two leapsters (two kids) and they both weren't fitting that well into the original size Leapster backpack. This bag easily holds two leapster consoles and lots of games. Lots of pockets, zippers and slots to stay organized. My 5 1/2 year old can carry it easily over her shoulder or neck/across the chest, but it is a bit too big for my 3 year-old. It looks like it will hold up under the weight of the games, etc. easily. the buckles that keep the flap down on the outside are the same ones as on a booster seat and can be a bit challenging for the kids, but it does have a zipper closure on the inside to keep all the leapster consoles secure and could be used without buckling down the messenger flap. Wish it came in more muted colors but this way they both know it's only for the leapster and overall is going to do just what I ordered it for.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Leapster Messenger Bag
We bought this for my daughter to store her LeapPad and accessories in and we are very pleased! We looked at several different bags...including the ones made for the LeapPad. However, the bags made for the LeapPad didn't seem to have room enough to hold the adapter as well as the games and unit itself...or didn't hold the game unit securely. This does it all! Plenty of storage for the unit, power adapter, games and even some extras if she wants to! Very well padded, easy for her to manage herself (she just turned 6) and seems sturdy, too. We like that there is a divider so the adapter and the game unit are not bumping each other and thus minimizing the chance of damaging the screen. We couldn't be happier with this purchase!Friday, November 21, 2014
Cheap LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use
I bought this system and returned it the very next day. Why? Because for the price of this exhorbitant recharging system, you can buy two packages of four Ni-MH AA batteries that recharge in 15 minutes and last as just as long... even on one charge! And, the charging device that came with the Ni-MH batteries is much more compact. PLUS, when the L-Max eventually dies, you can still use Ni-MH batteries for other electronic devices. Let's see you do THAT with this recharging system! Don't be fooled folks. Save your money and buy quick charging Ni-MH batteries instead.
It has a green indicator light that blinks when charging and goes solid green when done. You have to make sure the L-max (or leapster) is set on the cradle correctly so the light pops on, it is easy initally before you are used to the feel of it to set it on but not have it docked correctly.
Overall, this product is worth buying.

Since the L-Max came with nothing and it eats batteries very quickly this was a saving grace for us. It was hard to believe that the L-max didn't even come with an a/c adaptor which we thought was a rip off. I can't imagine how many batteries our Lmax would have sucked up, so this battery charger is a must have. Conversely we could have bought rechargeable batteries, but this just seemed like the more convienient choice for us.It has a green indicator light that blinks when charging and goes solid green when done. Honest reviews on LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use
This item is advertised for the Leapster and LMax, however, it is only for the LMax, not the Leapster. I came very close to ordering this for my daughter's Leapster but it does not work for it. I think the Leapster should be removed from the products information on here or others will order it and not be able to use it for their Leapster (non-LMax version) and have to go through with returning it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use
This charger is a godsend. It may seem a bit expensive, but it more than pays for itself after a few months. Sometimes you need to adjust how the L-Max sits in the charger... you need to be aware of whether it is seated correctly and is charging before walking away (the speed of a blinking light at the base of the product is the indicator).Overall, this product is worth buying.

Buy ALEX® Toys - Pretend & Play Let'S Pretend School 794W
I bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. She loves it and plays with it all the time. I see 2 flaws. The bell that comes with it does not have a holder in the carrying case nor does it fit into the little pouch in the case. Also the clock only has 1 hand! That does not help.
I had a chance to compare the ALEX set with the Learning Resources pretend school set and noticed that the LR set does not have these same problems and the LR set includes both a world map and a US map.

My daughter loves playing school, so I thought this would be the perfect gift for my soon-to-be 7-year old. It's really cute. It has all the essentials a teacher needs to teach his/her classroom. It stores easily too... everything fits nicely in a carry case, which does not take up a lot of room. The only thing is what to do when all the papers and stickers run out? I'm an educator myself, and I know I can be creative to refill the items. But not everyone has that luxury. There needs to be refills to purchase.Honest reviews on ALEX® Toys - Pretend & Play Let'S Pretend School 794W
I got this for my daughter because her teacher recommended that we play "school" with her. She is very shy and this was to get her more comfortable answering questions. She loves it! It is a little advanced for her. She doesn't get report cards, hall passes, etc. but she still has fun with it. This adds an element of realism to playing pretend school. My daughter completed some of the worksheets as if her "students" were doing the work. Great set. My only issue, not sure if it should be, is the number of pages of repetitive worksheets. I know it is for pretend but for $24 I think it is okay to expect a little more.Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Who would have thought that my son's 5th grade Social studies book wouldn't be included on this cartridge? When the item description didn't mention that it wouldn't be compatible with all curriculums, I didn't think twice about ordering this. My school system uses all of the mainstream text books, yet I keep striking out with these cartridges because none of our books are included in any of the subjects. The look on her face on Christmas was priceless, and the entertainment, and educational value is A+

Best Spiky Glove - 2 Pack - Colours sent randomly Deals
I bought the Spiky glove 2 pack for my son, he's 5 and has a thumb sucking problem. I thought that if he wore this glove it would curb his desire to suck his thumb during down time (watching tv, reading books, etc). He won't keep them on. However, my other son enjoys putting them on (and taking them off) just for mere pleasure.
My only caveat with this product is that they came in pink and purple. Nowhere near the colors shown yellow and orange. Most boys wouldn't wear a purple and pink glove. Those who decide who gets what color could at least send a "boy" color and a "girl" color or let you choose the colors yourself.I purchased these for my Autistic Grandson. He absolutely loves them!! He loves textures and fiddling with things so these were definitely a hit!!

Best Dwellstudio Wooden Puzzle Deals
I wanted to love this puzzle. I loved it online, and since I am not much of a fan of the Melissa and Doug brand, I thought this puzzle and the others by DwellStudio would be great. I have other Dwell Studio products so I thought this was sure to be a great puzzle.
Pros:
Cute images
Shapes are easy to remove from the board.
Cons:
We purchased two puzzles and BOTH arrived with smeared paint. Not a big deal, but I expected better from this company.
The colors are MUCH darker than you are seeing in the picture on Amazon. I know that monitors vary, blah blah, but honestly, the green looked light green or bright green in the picture and is actually much much darker. Overall the colors are darker and not bright and engaging, which is what you would want for a young child.
Overall, I was very disappointed by the dark, drab colors and the smeared paint so I returned these puzzles. A bit sad, as I really loved them in the pictures online.
My only complaint is the price. It does cost more than other wood puzzles. I guess you have to pay for the cute.

LeapFrog LeapPad2 Recharger Pack (Works only with LeapPad2) Review

List Price: $39.99
Sale Price: $27.36
Today's Bonus: 32% Off

I ordered this product along with a Leappad2, said item was in stock ready to ship but did not receive for another 4 days after I received the Laeppad. I could have purchased the charger pack locally at a higher price so I purchased batteries so that my daughter could use her new Leappad before we received the charger pack. The batteries lasted anywhere from 4-5hrs/4AA. The money I spent in the four days on batteries was more than the difference in price and will make up the cost of the charger pack within the first 40 hours of use. I have charged the charger pack two times (including initial charge) and my daughter has gotten close to 14hrs of use(6.5-7 hrs per charge) I am happy with this purchase and would recommend over using AA batteries. The "batteries" fit the Leappad2 perfectly and the battery doors closed just as they should, unlike prior reviews.(there is a right and left door if mixed up won't close all the way) It looks and feels like it is solidly constructed and uses quality materials. Have not needed it yet, but the ability to plug the Leappad into an outlet and use without batteries adds functionality and versatility to the Leappad and I think is almost a necessity.

I purchased these for homeschooling along with some pattern cards. I was anxious to get them in and when they arrived I was kind of disappointed that these are only Baby Bears, not a mix of three different sizes with Mama Bear and Papa Bear. The pattern cards require bears of three different sizes so I guess I'll have to order a different set. Be aware that if you are wanting the assorted size bears, this product only contains the smallest size bears. I would have purchased a different set if the description for this item had noted that.
The bears themselves are very cute and durable looking. Even though they are not what I wanted, I know my kids are going to go nuts over them.

We used these for Kindergarten & 1st grade counters. The bears work perfectly & the kids love them. The colors are very vibrant and they are not too small. ThanksFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Baby Bear Counters (102 ct.)
We were using flash cards, but my 4 year old wasn't showing interest. We started using the bears and they hold his attention since they make counting seem like a game.Monday, September 22, 2014
Discount Child's Keyboard Age 3+
Got this keyboard as a starter for my nieces who were beginning to get interested in music. It has several different rhythms to choose from, a recording function, and my favorite, VOLUME CONTROLS! :)I was a little disapponinted when I received this item. In the description it didnn't say if it was used or not. It doesn't matter to me if it's used as long as it's still in good working condition. In the picture it showed the product in the original box and the price was great. When I received it, it was not in a box, it was wraped in 2 layers on plastic (no bubble wrap or anything). It looks nice enough, but kind of cheaply made, and I didn't see any scratches or anything. Some of the keys you have to hit more than once for the sound to come out. However, I bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter who just wants to make noise with it, so I decided to keep it anyway.
