This sitting wedge is great for those little folks he just hate to sit still...or truly can't. Our son chooses to use it or a beanbag chair during circle time at school and just loves it. My son got this as a gift for his 5th birthday (by parent request). Everytime we go into a store that has a Tag, he runs over and plays with it until I have to beg to leave. So, I thought it would be a wonderful gift to get ready for reading, and being Toy Story was an extra bonus! I am still happy with the Tag itself, but the Toy Story packaging is deceiving. There is not Toy Story Storybook included, but a 4 page Toy Story trial book; actually they call it a "Bonus Game Book". The manufacturer was kind enough to include a $3 off coupon on the purchase of the Toy Story Storybook. ;) The book that comes with the "Toy Story Tag" is Ozzie and Mack written by Trish Holland. It is a cute book and kept his attention (and mine) for a decent amount of time. It is well written and the story is in a rhyme pattern. He definitely enjoys playing the games in the book. Overall, I am happy with the product, just not with what I thought should have been included in the Toy Story Tag package.

Overall, we are very happy with the TAG system, However, we were very disappointed (as was our son) that this products Toy Story 3 theme was not carried out by including the actual Toy Story 3 TAG book. We priced the system and book separately and figured that this "combo" package would save us over $15; however, since the packaging clearly shows a Toy Story 3 "book" we thought we were getting the real deal. Instead we got Toy Story 3 lite: a mini-pamphlet which inlcudes a $3 coupon for the real storybook (thanks guys!). Unless you really need the TAG pen with Woody and the Toy Story 3 gang on it, I suggest buying the original TAG and Toy Story 3 book separately. And thanks again Leap Frog for suckering us parents into buying a TAG pamphlet, just so that we will have to buy the real TAG book later.

well on christmas this was givin to our nephew and he was like YES!!!!!! TOY STORY!!!!!! then we were like yea its a book. And as soon as he heard the word book he just dropped it on the ground and asked well whats next. It was hilarious. I bought this product for my engineering lab, where light circuit assembly and inspection is performed (down to 0201 sized parts). I have used all the major brands in the past (leica, Bausch /Lomb, Olympus, etc) and this unit performed comparably if not identically with respect to field of view, image quality, eyepiece adjustment, and construction quality/ finish. From a pcb assembly standpoint, this scope is an excellent value and I feel like I got more than I paid for, which is rarely the case when going for lower cost gear.

I bought this set for my 8-year-old brother. He wanted to dig up the dinosaur right away!

The tool included is plastic and about as sharp as a plastic butter knife, so your child should be safe, which was my main concern.

The only downside to this set is it is very dusty. Also, you put together the dinosaur with the provided wax, which is definitely an adult supervision task.

Wow does this make a mess, but your kids will love it! Have them do it on top of a large cookie sheet to contain the mess. It will keep them amused for hours "digging for bones"..a great indoor winter project!

Over all I like the blocks. They have nice bright colors and they are constructed of solid wood so they should be very durable. The one qualm I have is that the package says they are stand-up numbers. However, many of them do not stand-up on their own. Only the zero, eight, and two can stand up on their own. The rest fall over due to their shape so in this the advertising is misleading. Otherwise they are what they seem to be...brightly colored solid wood number blocks.

Lynn Kleiner Single Baby Maraca on Loop Handle Review

I've experimented with a wide variety of baby maracas with babies at the library where I work, we use them in baby storytime. I bought two of these for our 1 year old for Christmas, and it's his favorite one so far. He likes to hold it in his is mouth by the ring while he uses other noisemakers in his hands! The sound is excellent, like a "real" maraca. It's easy for grownups (or older kids) to shake out more complex rythms with these, and do subtle changes from soft to louder, slow to fast. It's also the safest I've tried so far: there isn't a long handle babies can gag themselves with. I'd be comfortable giving it to a newborn. It's also very "tight," meaning there isn't a seam down the middle where gunk can get stuck. Very important for toys used by large groups of babies! I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher, or soak it in soapy water, but it's fine being wiped with a soapy sponge and rinsed off. Cheaper maracas get water inside when washed, or they break under heavy use. This one appears unbreakable so far! I'm planning to buy a couple dozen for work!

I love these maracas. I use them for a baby music class, and I would definitely buy more if I needed more instruments. They have a nice sound, they are very durable, and they are easy for the babies and parents to hold and shake. They also stand up to a good sucking, which of course is important for use with babies. We're teaching our daughter to read, and it was really difficult to illustrate that "top" is the same as "stop" just with an extra letter added on the front. These tiles are perfect for that, since we can arrange and re-arrange them, and she gets to participate in the process and sound out the different parts of the word and then join them together. There's a great variety of letters so we're not sorting around to find a "b" or an "r" and we store them in a little plastic container when not in use. Love these.

I use this a lot with my sons homework. We build his sight words and sound out words. They work great. I would have given 5 stars but some of the letters are not centered on the tile and sitting low. That is my only complaint but they still work for us.

When I purchased the Twisterz (in the brick & mortar Barnes & Noble) I expected 4 cylinders with rings that stay one them permanently. Instead there is only 1 cylinder with four sets of interchangeable rings and no bag or box to store them in. At my house, pieces like the picture and letter rings would end up separated and useless in the bottom of the toy box unless I constantly monitor the use of the toy to ensure all the pieces were always returned to the designated bag or box when my son is done using them. I can't attest as to how much fun the toy is as I put it back in the box to return it immediately without letting my son play with it. That said, as a former kindergarten teacher I really like the concept of the toy to teach initial letter sounds. If the box had indeed contained 4 complete cylinders I think it would be great.

I wanted this to be a great learning toy for my kids, but it really does not keep their attention. Some of the pictures are confusing and therefore, my daughter can't identify which letter they start with on her own (which is the point of the product). There is also many pieces and no easy way to store them. So far, we have owned this toy for a year and my daughter has never pulled it out to play with it on her own. I would only recommend this product if you are homeschooling and looking for a different way to reinforce letter sounds.

Cheap VELLEMAN MK193 3D LED CUBE 3 x 3 x 3 KIT

I just got done building this kit. Here's a couple of observations:

If at all possible reference the YouTube video when assembling the LED cube part of the kit. If you just use the written kit instructions it might make assembly more difficult/confusing.

Holes in the upper PC board are used as a jig to hold the LEDs while assembling the cube. This helps maintain the geometry of the cube & holds the LEDs firmly in place while tack-soldering them. The LEDs included in my kit were obviously smaller in diameter than the ones the YouTube person had resulting in my LEDs not staying in place while soldering. I found that putting a layer of blue painters tape on the board & then pushing the LEDs into the holes held them more firmly.

The LED cage/cube is surprisingly more rigid than I expected it to be once it was all tack-soldered together.

This kit was fun to assemble & I'm moving on to the 5x5x5 cube for my next project.

I only opened these, I've not yet assembled them as I was practicing with a few of Velleman's less expensive kits like the LED Christmas Tree and roulette wheel. I am finding that the closely spaced pads take a smaller diameter solder to do well and that, unfortunately, on the other Velleman PCBs, they do not like to be desoldered... sometimes the contact pads become separated from the PCB and you just cannot re-solder them. With a bit of experience with their boards, and with my soldering equipment I will now tackle these LED cube kits. Like other reviewers, I wish Velleman would included a couple of paragraphs of theory to explain what the various components are doing and why they selected the values they have for resistors and capacitors, etc.

This toy was perfect for my baby nephew. I was only looking for a very simple plane for him so he could play pretend with it. This one ended up being just for him because not only is it a simple plane he can carry around with him, but it plays his favorite song. My only criticism would be that it stops singing after the Z, which I don't know how much it would kill them to put the whole song on it. Otherwise, if you're just looking for something small, simple, and cheap, this is a good toy. If you want something with bells and whistles and does 20 different things, look at some of leap frog's other scout toys.

Picked up this toy as a gift for my 16 mo. old son. He has a lot of Leapfrog toys and has slept with Scout at night time since he was a few months old. He is big into cars so this was a nice, cheap, simple toy for him. Scout is in his airplane and he can drive him around and make him sing the alphabet song. He also likes to imitate Scout's airplane "sound". YES, unlike a lot of Leapfrog toys it doesn't do much but it also didn't cost me much either (I think I paid $6). A good deal IMPO.

My husband got this for our little girl when she was only 3 months old. Even though that is a bit younger than the recommended age, she started playing with it right away. It became one of her favorite toys from 3 months until maybe 9 months or so when she started getting really mobile. She always zoomed into its bright colors, and she would get all excited, huffing and waving her arms. She loved to chew on the wheels and and his little ears. I guess the texture is interesting. It is also a good size for the little ones, not too big. The toy also allows her to (accidentally) push down on the dog (before she could intentionally do it herself) and reward her with a song or a upbeat "Let's fly to the sky in my airplane. Nrrr." The wheels do turn, so you could push it around although she didn't do that until she was 18 months. We've dropped it on the carpet many times and even accidentally got a little water on it, but it is pretty durable and still works great. Although she lost interest in it at around a year, she came back to it recently at 18 months and plays with it every now and then. But I think it is a great toy for the really little ones.
