We bought this for my daughter because she is a huge My Little Pony fan. She absolutely loves it. I was worried at first because the age range is 5 and up, shes 4. But she picked it up really quick. 5 Stars. This game is fun and my kids love playing it. The math is challenging for my 4 year old but she's actually still able to play it, my 6 year old loves it and I love it because it tricks them into doing math over and over. Used it on Leappad 2.

We have a 7 year old with a LeapPad & LeapFrog Explorer. This My Little Pony was a wonderful addition to her game collection. She is a huge fan of the My Little Pony series and her Daddy is a huge fan of math. What a wonderful combination! She really got into the game and does not groan about it like other "MATH" games. I would love it if LeapFrog came out with expansions, especially with advanced Math. We'd be buying them for years to come.

I'm guessing you know how the Tag system works if you're reading this, so I'm focusing the review on the content of the book rather than the system itself. Go to LeapFrog TAG Reading System Green (or the purple one or Toy Story one) for device-specific reviews.

Unlike some other movie-based Tag books (like Beauty & the Beast and Tinkerbell), this one doesn't try to cram the whole movie's plot into a book. It just tells the initial story of Flounder and Ariel searching the sunken ship for treasure and getting away from the shark. My daughter liked that because it was almost perfectly in line with that part of the movie (something that some kids might not care about, but it really matters to her!). The story is brief but it's not any shorter than it should be just long enough to tell the story, which makes it short and sweet yet complete. Then it finishes with four games featuring Cinderella (one with _r consonant blends dr, br, tr, fr, and pr and the other on vowel recognition) and Jasmine (one with -s plurals and one using location-based vocabulary).

This one is one of our favorites!

Cheap Elenco Snap Circuits Green - Alternative Energy Kit

Last year for Christmas, we bought the Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 set for our then six-year-old son. The worked through the first half of the experiments on Christmas day! Obviously I didn't have time to explain to him how they all worked, but the point is the instructions are easy to follow and produce entertaining results.

This year, we knew another snap circuits set would be similarly well received. This Green Alternative Energy Kit looked like a great option that didn't repeat too much of what he already had. He loved it again and is eagerly looking forward to designing his own circuits that can combine parts from both sets.

The product is very well packaged--the box it comes in organizes all parts neatly and securely without too much wasted space. The parts are all clearly labeled and easy to snap into place. It includes an FM radio, voltmeter, and a fan/windmill, which are all favorites. The biggest complaint I have is that the hand crank requires enough force to turn it quickly that it is easy to pop that part off of the circuit board. Keeping one hand firmly over the part while using the other hand to do the cranking usually keeps everything secure. Also, the photovoltaic cell doesn't generate enough current except during a very sunny day (which is typical for a cell this size). That said, I would say this set is even more enjoyable than the first set and I would certainly buy it again.

When I asked my son just now what he thought of the set and whether he'd recommend it to others, he said: "It is awesome!"

I got this yesterday. For 8 and up. It is the greatest toy I ever had! It's like LEGO, a new toy every day. The only thing is that you have to charge the batteries for several hours before you can start building. It is very easy to put together. The battery charger uses solar so we put in in the sun. I LOVE IT! Get it for your kid. Buy today, don't delay!

I don't usually write very much review, but I really liked this toy. I have to say this is even more educational than the battery operated ones because the kid can actually see or experience where the energy source come from (sun, wind or him cranking up the hand crank) instead of this black box (the battery unit). I ordered this toy for my 5 year old son. Not only does he learn how energy can change its form from one state to another, he is learning what is a circuit and what does it take to make it work. He is also creating his own circuit now. And I am learning along with him. The pieces are good quality. I am buying a second set for his cousins because it is such an educational yet creative toy.

I bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. She loves it and plays with it all the time. I see 2 flaws. The bell that comes with it does not have a holder in the carrying case nor does it fit into the little pouch in the case. Also the clock only has 1 hand! That does not help.

I had a chance to compare the ALEX set with the Learning Resources pretend school set and noticed that the LR set does not have these same problems and the LR set includes both a world map and a US map.

My daughter age 5 loves her teacher set. I like that all the pieces (except the bell) have a storage space in the carrying case. My only concern is that many of the forms (attendance, report cards, etc)can be used only once. I plan on contacting Alex toys to see if you can buy refills.

My daughter loves playing school, so I thought this would be the perfect gift for my soon-to-be 7-year old. It's really cute. It has all the essentials a teacher needs to teach his/her classroom. It stores easily too... everything fits nicely in a carry case, which does not take up a lot of room. The only thing is what to do when all the papers and stickers run out? I'm an educator myself, and I know I can be creative to refill the items. But not everyone has that luxury. There needs to be refills to purchase.

This adds an element of realism to playing pretend school. My daughter completed some of the worksheets as if her "students" were doing the work. Great set. My only issue, not sure if it should be, is the number of pages of repetitive worksheets. I know it is for pretend but for $24 I think it is okay to expect a little more.

Fortunately, replacement parts are available directly from Fisher Price's web site, for about $5 for a bag of ALL the parts, plus about $3 for shipping. On the home page, just type "replacement parts" in the search box, and it'll bring you to the right page. The parts are definitely worth replacing if lost or missing--this is a great toy!

This is a rip off. I bought my replacement parts directly from the manufacturer for $5. You can go to fisher price website and buy all of these replacement parts yourself without the middleman. I am sure that is where they also bought the parts they are selling you and are just marking them up to make a profit.

I bought the house part of this set at a yard sale and the seller told me that the pieces were gone but that I would be able to buy them online for cheap. Sure enough, here they are. When looking for a gift for a child with autism or sensory issues this is one item that is sure to delight. Also suitable for an office buddy. This might pinch little fingers though.

Some may say they have a difficult time finding items for special needs kids to give for holiday gifts or birthday presents.

This will expand from 5 ½" to 12". The texture is very different and actually not pleasant for me due to having eczema on my hands. I feel it irritates my skin, but luckily both my sons have played with the Hoberman® Mini Sphere™ since I introduced it to them.

The Hoberman® Mini Sphere™ consists of black and neon green hubs. They can be snapped in place to keep the circled shape so you can roll it along the floor. We enjoyed the glow-in-the-dark effect by entering the bathroom and turning off the lights to see the magic.

The Hoberman® Mini Sphere™ almost resembles a miniature holiday tree in the upright position. This will stand flat and returns to this position after being opened. I had my non-verbal autistic son sit in front of me on the floor as I demonstrated the opening and closing sequence to the Hoberman® Mini Sphere™. This is quite mesmerizing to watch and it has a sound effect of the hubs flicking one another during this process.

This is a great stress buster for your desk at work or the home office and a fun crowd pleaser at a party. Since this is also glow-in-the-dark it would be good for outdoors in the summer time.

My older son liked to place his hand inside and twirl the Sphere around. The price is a bit steep, but it has stayed in great condition thus far.

We have 4 kids in our house and every time we saw this in a toy store, they played with it. I gave it to them on a Friday and by Monday night, it wouldn't collapse any more. They did have fun pulling on it and rolling it around, but it is not made to handle the tug of war games my 3 and 4 year olds put it through. It's fairly expensive for a toy that just opens and closes and isn't very durable. I don't see how people can say it's educational except to teach colors. It's like saying a ball or a slinky is educational. I wouldn't recommend this toy to a family with active children.

I bought this for my wife as a replace for her last globe and found that this is actually a globe wrapped in a clear plastic ball. You can't physically spin the globe since it is suspended in liquid. It is a neat concept and works great in indirect sunlight. It starts to spin on its own inside the fluid-filled ball, which gives it the appearance that it is levitating. It's expensive, but a nice concept.

Best Sesame Street Baby Purse Playset Deals

This is a really great toy and we were excited to give it to our daughter at her first birthday. The only drawback is she can't open the purse by herself. You have to push the handle very hard towards the back to get it to open. It took our three year old quite a while to do it and sometimes she can't and has to ask us for help. We had a similar problem with the Sesame Purse that was made a few years ago. They need to redesign the purse so that is is easy to open. It could possiby be a heavy duty cloth bag with velcro closure or something along that line. The toys inside are great so we generally leave them out of the purse for her to play with.

We bought this toy to try to occupy our 18 month old on a long plane trip. It worked,... at least for a while. The plastic purse contain several items including lipstick, keys, cell phone, change purse and others. Our daughter does enjoy playing with this although she prefers toys that do something (come part, make noise, have moving parts). The cell phone does open and squeak when you press the buttons and the change purse rattles but the other items really don't do anything so she became a little bored with them. Still she did like this toy and enjoyed imitating mom by putting on lipstick, "talking" on the phone etc. The toy itself is pretty durable and has survived several drops on the floor without breaking.

Overall I would recommend this toy for any young toddler that likes to imitate mom or play "make believe." At the price that it is selling for it is also a pretty good value.

My daughter received this as a gift when she turned one and I didn't give it to her right away thinking she was too young. Once I showed it to her at age 14 months, she absolutely loved it! She pretends to be painting her lips and mine with the big plastic lipstick. She loves opening, closing and shaking the coin purse (it's great because there's only the "sound" of coins so no mess to pick up). And she opens and closes the cell phone while pretending to talk on it. She's 16 months old now and totally understands that it's "her purse" and LOVES emptying and filling it. One of her favorites!

This is a perfect eraser for a magnetic dry erase board. My board doesn't have a "chalk" rail, so I had no place to put my eraser. However, this eraser clings perfectly to the board, so I never leave messy eraser dust all over the place when I put the eraser down. This is great at keeping the dry erase markers in place; they're secure and don't slip out. My only complaint is that I wish the magnet were stronger. We have a 12"X18" dry erase board and the magnet on the eraser isn't strong enough to hold onto the board. I put it on the fridge instead.

This eraser erases so-so but the main problem is that you have to remove both markers before erasing or they just get in the way. If you're erasing the whole board it isn't so bad but if you need to angle it to erase a small section the markers are in the way. I should have thought about that before ordering this product.. The markers take a bit of effort to pull out so it just makes the process a bit more time consuming than erasing a white board should be. I will be ordering a different magnetic eraser. I guess this one will make a good marker holder.

My kids and I use our whiteboard often for homeschool activities and we were constantly have to go searching for markers whenever we'd want to write something. This set really comes in handy to alleviate that problem. It sticks directly to the surface of the whiteboard with an eraser on its underside, so it's not going to scratch it. It has a strong magnet too. We're constantly moving the board around the room, standing it up, laying it down, and the eraser never slips. The markers in this set are the wide chisel type which are better for bold writing or drawing than the thin markers Crayola makes that are meant for fine writing. The markers snap into the holder snugly, so even if it gets turned upside down they're not going to fall out. The holder has a slight contour to it so it fits nicely in your hand when erasing. If you ever need a replacement marker, the Crayola 8 Count Dry Erase Broad Line Chisel Tip Markers set uses the same markers.

I'm very pleased with this set and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another!

Each page has a number with the same number of a different item. It goes up to 20. Not really a story book but teaches counting. My son is 2 and can count to 20 thanks to this book.
