Review of Constellation Creations by University Games

The world is a sphere and most rooms are cubes. The world also spins and constellations come and go with the seasons. But that's not the entire problem. The problem is that while the concept is good to have a template to place the stickers in thus making each constellation "correct" there is no good way to lay the templates out in the proper places. And the scale isn't even close. There are arrows, and there are compass directions on the sheets, but you have to use them only as a *very rough* guide. Very rough.

If you're looking for more of an idea where they should be in the sky, this is not the product for you borrow a planetarium projector and get some glow in the dark markers to draw in the stars on. But if you don't know anyone with a spare planetarium projector, and you want something just one step up from randomly putting glow in the dark stickers on a ceiling, this is really good. As a nice touch, they did include extra stickers. This is good, because we could randomly fill in "sky" with random stars.

The stars glow well in a dark room as long as the lights are bright when they're on to "charge up" the stars. If there's ambient light (LED night light is way too bright) then the light pollution will drown out the stars. Just like real life!

Ultimately, despite my frustration putting it up with masking tape and moving them all around the ceiling trying to get the positions for 30 minutes before giving up and just applying the stickers, all that mattered is that my my 5 year old likes it. Also worth noting is that we have a smooth painted plaster ceiling. I would not advise trying these stickers on a "popcorn" textured ceiling as it just wouldn't work.

There are only 10 variations, just like the package states, so if you are looking for a larger variety, you will not find it here. My husband bought these for our 5 month old baby. The biggest design flaw is that it has pointy tops. The age range says 0 months My baby was practicing sitting upright but occasionally falls forward. She narrowly missed this toy when it was pointing up thank goodness or else it could've damaged her eye! I think once your baby is sitting up completely unassisted and does not fall forward maybe around 8 months then it would be safe but any earlier and it is not.

Asthetically it is a cute toy and an artistic alternative to regular nesting toys. Not quite sure why it is labeled a bath toy.

I bought these for my son when he was six months old. He loved to push them around and put things in them. He loved it when I stacked them. He is now ten months old and can stack and play with them more independently. These are GREAT for travel...they take up very little space and are perfect toys for hotel rooms. We travel a lot and I always bring these stacking cups with us because they can be used for so many different purposes!

This is a really durable set of stacking and nesting cups. It is made of a nice hard plastic and the colors are very vibrant. My baby LOVES these cups. They will get her attention whenever we put them in front of her. She likes to mouth them and bang them together. She also likes to knock over the "tower" if we stack them for her. She has had them since she was 3 months old and now she is 8 months and still loves them. I don't see her interest in these blocks waning. HOWEVER, her daddy hates these blocks because they look slightly dangerous. The corners of the cups are tapered and end in a point. I understand that it is a design statement and makes the "tower" more interesting. Also, it allows a baby to stick the bit of the corner in their mouth... however, my husband is really paranoid that our baby will lose coordination and slam her eye into a corner. Babys aren't very coordinated and it might happen.... I think it's pretty unlikely and I like this set of cups... we have another set of stacking/nesting boxes from Melissa and Doug made of Thick cardboard... those are good too.

My two year old really enjoys this toy. While she never stacks the cups (which is hard to do in the tub because they float), she enjoys using them to pour water on her herself. My only complaint is that I have to wash them reguarly as they get mildew.

These have been interesting to my kid since he was around 1 year old. They are bright fun colors, and I love that they stack together as well as into a tower. That's a mind bender for a toddler. The tops of the cups have grooves that the little corner feet can slip into, which makes it easier for small people to get them in the right spot. Great for building dexterity and spacial concepts.

We use them out with other toys, as well as in the bath to pour liquids, or to fill with objects, or for pouring with texture play.

Pockets of Learning has some wonderful books, playsets & travel bags for kids! This one in particular is great for teaching the alphabet, animals, colors, dexterity, phonics & more! My daughter loves this & she's not even 2 years old yet! We work on pulling animals out of pockets & putting them back. We work on what sound each animal makes. Colors of each animal, colors of each letter, sound of each letter & of course the alphabet! Excellent teaching tool! Soft enough for even the youngest ones. Travels well. A great bonus is that Pockets of Learning replaces missing animals if you call the 800 number! The only drawback, in my opinion, is that the animals are kinda small & some are "posed" strangely to fit the pockets. "ABC Animal Train" would also be great for home schooling & daycare! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend all POL toys!

I bought this for my daughter when she was 1 1/2 years old last christmas. She loves it, (and so do I). She still pulls it out to play with. Amazingly enough, we have never lost an animal for more than a few weeks. Since there is a space for each animal, it is a great storage too. You are able to see if you have everything when it is put away. Which leads to another great part about this toy, my daughter LOVES to put all the animals back in their "garages" (as my daughter calls it). Very soon after we bought this, she was memorizing her letters and telling me what each animal was. Since they all have matching letters on the animals and their "garages" it helps the younger ones find out where each goes. I can't say enough good things about this. I hate to buy toys that get put in the toy box and never get pulled out again. But this one has definately kept her attention. When you put that with the educational opportunity, how can you resist it? It is cute! Oh and you know how you get tired of playing the same toys with your children? This one is fun for the adults too. I forgot to mention one of the most important details. There is a form you get with the toy to order more animals if you lose any.

Apparently there was a wrong photo listed for this item when I ordered 2 of them a few weeks ago. Because of a gift giving/timing issue, I didn't have time for a return and just gave the gifts anyway. My feedback did reflect that I didn't receive the items pictured. this is a great little toy – perfect for little hands!

the tail, middle and head of this alligator twist, making a cool clicking noise. my baby loves it. and i love that it'll grow with her, too. to start, it's just really cute – with lots of different textured fabrics and little tabs along the alligator's spine. and as her fine motor skills develop she'll be able to twist it herself, too. it's a sweet baby toy but it doesn't feel as baby-ish as others that they outgrow so quickly do. i think this one will be in rotation for a long time!

this would also make a really adorable gender-neutral baby gift! i always love having a few good go-to ideas to get for showers... this is a great option!

I gave this set to my four-year-old son and he loves it, as do his daddy and I. The only problem is that he made something that took almost all the pieces and he likes it so much he won't take it apart! Now we have to get another set for his birthday so the grown-ups can play, too. If you get these (and I highly recommend them), get a lot; everyone will want them, especially if you have a house full of builders and geometers like we do.

Yes. If you have a child who sticks things in his mouth don't buy this. However you may want to have a talk with him because that's a weird habit for an older child. My son is 7. He LOVES Geomag. We have many sets. He would never put one in his mouth because he needs every single piece to complete his creations! He makes tall buildings, automobiles, trains, things that spin, balls & everything you could imagine. He doesn't follow the included plans & just builds on his own. He sticks them on everything metal around our house. It's just a great toy. You can throw a bunch of the balls/sticks in a bag to take to the grandparents, set them at a table & they are good for an hour. Every child has different interests & attention spans, but if you have a little builder this is a great toy.

I bought this at a huge discount off the usual Amazon price, from their 'Warehouse,' and at that much lower price I feel like I got my money's worth. Pay attention to the 'specs' for this item -even though the product description says "large," you are *not* buying a full size globe! I knew what to expect there, so no unpleasant surprises in that regard; this makes a nice little side-table decorative/conversation item for an office. The base feels good and solid, has nice weight to it, and does not wobble while sitting on a table. The craftsmanship is not top-shelf, however; the globe itself is lightweight, with the mapping appearing to consist of paper glued to a thicker paper/cardboard ball. One thing, for example, that I noticed was that where one seam ran down the globe, the letters in "North" and "America," with some of each word on each side of the seam, did not line up correctly to the extent that the last few letters in each word looked like subscript. In addition, the globe will not spin very smoothly on its axis, perhaps due to the materials used in the sphere itself. Nonetheless, for the purpose I intend, mostly decorative as opposed to close examination and/or any kind of regular use, this product is quite appropriate and satisfactory -at the price I paid.

I bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. She loves it and plays with it all the time. I see 2 flaws. The bell that comes with it does not have a holder in the carrying case nor does it fit into the little pouch in the case. Also the clock only has 1 hand! That does not help.

I had a chance to compare the ALEX set with the Learning Resources pretend school set and noticed that the LR set does not have these same problems and the LR set includes both a world map and a US map.

My daughter age 5 loves her teacher set. I like that all the pieces (except the bell) have a storage space in the carrying case. My only concern is that many of the forms (attendance, report cards, etc)can be used only once. I plan on contacting Alex toys to see if you can buy refills.

This adds an element of realism to playing pretend school. My daughter completed some of the worksheets as if her "students" were doing the work. Great set. We waited for months but the model we order just wasn't making it through production. Finally the company upgraded our order to this upgraded model and we had it within the week. My 1 and 3 year old LOVE it. They have both fallen off of the seat several times so I've placed it in a corner where they cannot hurt themselves more. (it's a short bench so the fall is minimal yet irritating.) The sound is odd if you are expecting a real piano sound. I wish they used the LITTLE TIKE red piano method of having xylophone bars instead of the varied length slender, TINNY, flat bars of metal. The sound would be more like the ringing xylophone bells instead of the strange timbre of tin? IT'S A TOY! It took all of 3 minutes for my 3 year old to jump back on the real piano to compare "the highest note". He knew something was just not right with the pitch and tone. So that's a good learning tool. TOY v. The real thing. It's worth having if your expectations are too high. Kids love it. That's what matters! And the manufacturer is sincerely interested in customer service.

Note: I purchased the same tape in blue color.

Quality tape that holds paper posters on all sorts of painted surfaces. The tape doesn't make any damage to the wall and using it posters can be firmly attached one to the other or to the wall.

The only possible drawback is that tape is only 1 inch (2,5 cm) wide so if you need to tape several big posters you will need to spend lot of tape.

Nevertheless I can recommend this tape due to its quality.
