I bought this for a young child who is a music student (violin and percussion) and she likes it a lot. I also bought one of these in the smaller version, which would fit her hands better, but this bigger one sounded enough better that I went ahead and gave it to her, keeping the smaller one to play with myself. (The smaller one does have an impressive sound for its size.) Great quality. Great value. I didn't much care for the color as it appeared in the photo, but after receiving it I like the color a lot....quite like a real bullfrog (I've caught and eaten a few from Kansas farm ponds!)....and seems to be a stain rather than paint so I don't think it will peel or flake off, plus the wood grain is visible through the stain.

Best NINO Wood Frog Güiro Large Green Deals
No one can help themselves they simply HAVE to pick this up. It's sitting on the coffee table and I bought several sizes of the instrument. The sound it creates is awesome and we all start laughing & passing it around. I highly recommend this as a fun & smart family tradition that develops musical ability.

The switch button is at the back a little inconvenient. When the switch is on, the fan is on and makes its noise. It's a little loud for me, so I turned it off instead of tuning the light down using the front button. And most of all, the light is a little dim for our microscope imaging application. A lot room for improvement. This is a great item. It works perfectly. It does exactly what I need it to do. I am happy with the purchase.

Cheap Dandelion Soft Shaker Toy
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $12.99
Sale Price: $12.15

I got this for my 4-month-old and she loves it still (she's now 7 months). She hasn't been enthusiastic about other soft toys, whether they make noise or not, but there's something about the texture and shape and sound of this one that she loves. The body is just about the right size for her to grab comfortably (it was a little big when we first got it), it's easy for her to make the sound and she enjoys that a lot, and the plush is made from bamboo viscose that has a really smooth texture that's a little velvety but not too plushy. She also likes to mouth the little nubs and ears. :)
Only reason I give 4 stars is that I've read that the process to make viscose from bamboo fibers is not at all environmentally friendly, and that matters a little to me, and also seems to be a little counter to this company's philosophy/image.

It is cute, and the bamboo fabric is nice and soft. It states it's organic product, and it made me feel safe even the baby put it into its month. The sharker sounds ok, but I think the price is a little bit high. The negative thing is the sound is not loud enough. Your baby need to use it in the quiet enviornment, not good to play when in the street.Best Deals for Dandelion Soft Shaker Toy

I bought this for My 7 year old who LOVES baseball. I was a little concerned that it may be too difficult for him but I was plesently surprised that there are different levels of play. He likes the game and will some times sit down with it for an hour. He likes the idea of collecting the cards and being able to use them in the game. I would deffinatly reccomend this to a kid who really enjoys baseball. It's just like listening to a game on the radio except you are incharge! The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was I had hoped the Basball cards would be a little more interactive. Other than that thumbs upway to go LEAP FROG. I really feel like the pen and games are something my child will enjoy for a few years!

Pacon 3782 Privacy Board, 48 in.x16 in., 4/PK, White Review
I ordered 7 packs of these for my new classroom and they were here in 2 days! They are absolutely what I expected and I can't wait to put them to use. They were also a great value for what I paid; about $6.50 per 4-pack. They are white on both sides (unlike what the picture shows), and they provide plenty of elbow room too. I am very pleased.

Best Teach Your Child to Count to 10, Math & Logic #1, ChildUp Early Deals
These cards are amazing! When I received these I was very amazed to find that they were filled with so many learning ideas. Not only are these cards set up to help you learn your numbers, but as a parent you also have the opportunity to use them in so many different ways. We used both of these sets with my youngest daughter who is 3.5. We started with the first set and once she started better recognizing the numbers from 1-10, we moved on to try the 11-20 cards as well. She is still struggling with these but she is catching on. What she loves is the fact that the cards themselves are made for kids her age. With vibrant colors and fun animals, she can relate and she enjoys counting the animals that were on each of the cards.
I started being the one who would pick each set of cards within the pack, but I quickly found that she was saying that she wanted to do Math at night like her big sister and that she wanted to be the one to choose what cards we were using as well.
I have seen a marked improvement in both number recognition as well as comprehension through using these cards and I have to say that anyone that is looking for a set of cards that will assist with their own child's math skills, you should look no further than these cards.
How I Tested the Cards?
I started with the first pack of the cards with Ben by getting him to be familiarised with the animals on the farm, followed by the number of animals (from 1 to 10) and I then asked him what are the animals for the cards I picked and the number of animals on the card picked.
As of end of August, he has yet to master the numbering part but he does answer quickly when it comes to naming the animals on the cards.
I would definitely continue using this as I feel there is much more potential for this cards on Ben.
What's good?
* I like that I can teach Ben on counting from 0 to 10.
* I like that the cards come with both sides showing different designs (one showing the animals, the other side showing the animal with the number)
* I also like that I can teach my child the different types of animals.
Room for improvement?
* I would prefer if the cards are thicker. It somehow felt thin and fragile and I was worried it gets crumpled easily.
* I would prefer if there is just a standard sheet of paper for the Parent's Cards so that I can read it at once (it also reduce paper wastage).
These cards are made for parents and children to use together, creating an interactive learning environment. I found the Parent Cards to be particularly detailed and useful! They provide parents with background information in order for them to understand how their child learns and more. The cards guide the parent through very specific questioning techniques they can use on their children in order to help their learning throughout the use of the Learning Cards Set. They also walk the parents through very specific lessons so that they can be their child's teacher when using the learning cards. The lessons are detailed right down to specific dialogue that can occur in order to really focus the child's learning.
As a former Kindergarten teacher, I highly recommend these learning cards as they help young children develop some key early learning skills such as:
Math and logic skills
Learning and cognitive skills
Listening and memory skills
Attention and concentration skills
Language and social skills
We will definitely be using these cards this summer as I prepare my son to enter Junior Kindergarten! What a fabulous resource for parent and child!

These Early Learning Game Cards are just the thing you need to help your child develop early learning skills. The cards say good for children ages 1-5; my 2 year old wanted to play with the cards more than pay attention to me. After about 2 months, of me and my oldest daughter working with her, she started to actually pick up on counting. I think it would be much easier for a child a little bit older but, every child is different!Sunday, October 5, 2014
Vilac Melusine's Baby Shape and Color Recognition Toy, Nesting Cubes Reviews
I got these nesting blocks for my daughter's 2nd birthday. When she saw them, her face completely lit up. She has been playing with them off and on all day long, stacking and counting and putting them away. They're so cute and seem durable. I searched through amazon for just the right ones and even though these had no reviews I took the chance. Very happy I did. We will purchase from this company again.

ScienceWiz / Energy Experiment Kit Reviews
Most of the wires are only 2 hair-size strands. My 9 yr old mentee had difficulty inserting wire in motor terminal holes. Wires likely to break. A larger solid wire would make threading the motor terminal easier. LED light was missing so we did not make a vinegar battery. Base of battery powered car is very flimsy (we will glue a popsicle stick under it to prevent buckling), but the car worked very well. Solar powered propeller worked very good when sun came out, and any shadow stopped the prop. Good educational experience about power of sun. Solar cell produced 0.56 volts DC in bright sun. Prop would not turn under a kitchen spot light. We had difficulty identifying the large capacitor. A small switch between solar cell & motor would help.
We had a good time Energy Wiz: The Race to Save the Planetgetting started with this kit. Guide book is very helpful listing parts. My mentee has younger brother & sister, so he did not take it home. Followed the warning about small parts.
The information about physics and solar are good. But my son got bored after a while I explained to him. I think it has too much info for him. Half of the parts look very CHEAP. That is one reason which loses attraction. But the motors and the capacitors are really good. I think it could have been improved to be more attractive to kids.
In summary, it is more like lab experiment kits. If it can be improve to attract young kids like my son. But anyway, the cover needs to be changed. It looks like false advertisement.

This product really helped my 10 year old son gain an understanding of circuitry. BEWARE though, the wires do get hot and smoke if they cross or stay hooked up too long. This is a great kit for teaching young elementary kids about energy. The experiments were fun and we found the instructions easy to follow. The explanations of most scientific concepts were excellent. The writing definitely does emphasize the importance of clean energy and problems of climate change. If you have an anxious child and were hoping to just learn about energy without having to read to them about the horrors of climate change (like mosquitoes with dengue fever) there are probably better kits for you (or just skip a couple of sections). We were a little disappointed to find that our kit was missing a few small items that it said were part of the kit. I contacted the company and was told that those items were no longer included--I guess they did not bother to include an update noting this. Overall though we still loved it an learned a lot from it. The solar cell experiments were a huge hit with my 7 year old!Tuesday, September 2, 2014
Discount VTech - V.Smile Smartridge Barney The Land of Make Believe
Like most every game for this system (thus far), the age printed on the box for the would be buyer is not always honest, until now. "Barney: The Land Of Make Believe" (3-5 years) is the lone exception. Also like most the other vsmile games, Barney has excellent character similarities as to the TV show. The Graphics are fine. The music is also similar to the TV show. For easy & immediate play, choose the Learning Zone, all of which are the easiest to play + win, unlike past games & the game play is quite excellent, no boring & pasty short games, the replay value on the Learning Zone is a 10 out of 10, it's done perfectly. The Learning Adventure on the other hand has some unnecessary + boring selections like the 1st (numbers) & last (directions). Yes the game is not perfect, but it has more then enough of fun activates that will not get boring, until your child turns 6. ENJOY!

We just got my son a VSmile for Christmas. He just turned three and to be honest I thought it would be more of a toy he would "grow into". Along with the game the unit comes with he received the Wiggles, Barney, and Bob the Builder. I had actually read reveiws and had told people to get Dora and Winnie the Pooh but they were unable to find them so they he got these games instead. The Wiggles and Bob the Builder games both lived up to their horrible reviews. Too hard for a three year old and they won't be interesting for an older child. However, the Barney game was a different story. My three year old loves this game. Yes the fundamental learning skill are very basiccounting, colors, letter recognition, etcbut the activities are really geared toward three year olds. There are actually some parts of the game that my son can play all by himself. We are very happy that he has this game to learn on without getting frustrated.Best Deals for VTech - V.Smile Smartridge Barney The Land of Make Believe

I have to agree with the other review what's with the bunny going "boing boing"? That's ridiculous. And my son also had trouble pulling the handle for a while.
I admit though, my son likes this toy and it is kinda nice to have two different sides so there are more animals. However, I really wish there was a way to turn off the quiz function. Or if the quiz section was only on one side. This toy appeals to a lot of children who are too young to get the quiz thing, and it's a little disruptive when they get into the groove of learning about animal sounds (even the made-up ones) and all of a sudden the thing is asking them questions. And you either have to fix it by pointing the arrow to the correct animal yourself, or wait until it turns itself off. I mean, I'm sure it's a nice feature for kids who are big enough to understand how to do it, but I just really would rather not deal with it sometimes.
What I was looking for was the old toy I had growing up, where you'd pull the handle and the spinner would land on an animal and give that noise "The cow says 'Moo!'" for instance. This toy has goofy sentence structure and for some reason they felt if necessary to incorporate the "quiz" square where the voice repeatedly asks you to find an animal until you physically turn the spinner to that animal and pull the handle. Again, too confusing for a toddler who just wants to hear animal sounds associated with pictures of animals. I wouldn't buy this toy for any of my younger children and am so disappointed. On top of being plain dumb, it's cheaply and poorly made. Don't waste your money as for me, I'm going look for a well-preserved original at a yard sale or bidding site.

She is not one to just sit in a lap but when my husband gets home from work, she goes and picks it up and brings it to him so they can sit in the chair and play farmer says. As many reviews as I write, I wish I would've read the others listed on here. This toy is NOT the toy you remember from the 80's. It's cheap, small, flimsy and the paint is sloppy. The handle is too hard for toddlers to pull all the way down in one fluid motion, and unless you do just that, no sound comes out. In other words, unless you pull the handle down quickly and completely, the spinner moves without making any noise kind of difficult when you have the motor skills of a 20 month old. What I was looking for was the old toy I had growing up, where you'd pull the handle and the spinner would land on an animal and give that noise "The cow says 'Moo!'" for instance. I bought this because my mom was desperate for the classic version that I played with as a kid. This isn't it. The toy is smaller and the handle is so stiff my 15 month old gets pissed trying to make it talk. Review of LeapFrog Magnet Zoo Animal Playset
After the success and durability of the barnyard animals and vehicles mix and match toys, you'd think Leapfrog would have stuck with a good thing. But, no. They decided to make the pictures on the zoo animal pieces stickers instead of being painted. A few weeks of a toddler mouthing these pieces and the stickers peel. Both of my girls adored the farm animals one. What a disappointment.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This toy is fantastic, just like the other leap from fridge toys, my one year loves this. The only problem is that the animal pieces have stickers on them that portray each animal. About 24 hours after putting this toy on my fridge, my daughter had already destroyed two of the animals. As soon as she started mouthing the pieces, the stickers started coming off. In other versions of this toy (the Farm for example), the pieces are molded and painted to look like each animal, and they last forever. This version (zoo), is of much lower quality and much easier to destroy. I wouldn't recomend this toy for any child that puts things in thier mouth (which in my experience is all of them)Best Deals for LeapFrog Magnet Zoo Animal Playset
This is a great toy, however, I don't recommend giving it to babies who like to chew on everything. The paper on the front of the animal pieces comes off very easily. I don't know why this product was produced with paper on the front, knowing that babies like to chew. I would recommend the leap frog barnyard because those pieces are made without paper.Honest reviews on LeapFrog Magnet Zoo Animal Playset
As other have said, the animal pieces on this toy are stickers. They do not hold up well. My 18 month old loves the fridge farm and fridge phonics. I thought this would be fun for her. She does chew on the toys and I had hoped that the stickers would be slightly water proof or resistant. Nope. The animal pieces were destroyed in a day. Save your money on this one and buy the fridge farm or wash n' go vehicle magnet sets.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Magnet Zoo Animal Playset

Reviews of Plan Toy Hammer Balls
I love this toy. When my 18 months got it she played with it for an hour every day. It is such a wonderful quality. The holes have rubber trimmings inside that hold the balls from falling through right away when placed onto the holes. You can even push them down with your fingers if you wish not to have a hammer around in my case with a newborn in the house just to be on the safe side!
My daughter loved it without the hammer as well. She was fascinated with what happens to the balls when she pushed them down. They always end up on one side of the toy.
I'd say the ideal age is 6 months to 2 years, although I'm sure he will play with it longer. I'm recommending it for young children because they can use it as a very simple shape sorter, pushing the balls through the holes, watching them disappear momentarily, and then roll out.
My son loves this toy however. He often pushes the balls into the holes with his hands and the hammer is not even a consideration. He learned quickly how to play with this toy (with and without the hammer). The toy itself is simple enough for him to gain confidence, and he repeats the process over and over again, keeping him entertained.
I would recommend this toy, but only while an adult is sitting with the child while he / she plays with it. Left to his own devices, someone could get injured by the parts. Adult supervision is a must with this one!

Our son loves this toy! It is well made, and the balls are easy to either push or pound into the holes. When he was under 1 year he enjoyed pushing them through. He also seemed to prefer these wooden balls for playing with over plastic ones. Now that he is 1.5 years he is really into pounding and hasn't gotten tired of the simplicity of the toy. It is well made and solid. Perhaps when he is older we may add some material (maybe masking tape inside the holes, around the edges) to make it a little more difficult to pound them through.I'd say the ideal age is 6 months to 2 years, although I'm sure he will play with it longer. I love Plan Toys, and this one in particular is a beautiful keepsake. However, the wooden balls are quite hard and just the right size for my 13 month old to throw across the room with ferocious force! I'm worried that if another child or a pet were around, he could really hurt someone. Same goes with the hammer. He hammers away at the balls with energy and force. If this same force were used on a person or a pet, serious harm could be done!My son loves this toy however. Honest reviews on Plan Toy Hammer Balls
I gave this to my 2 year old grandson for his birthday. He plays with it over and over. Although the concept is simple, he enjoys repeatedly putting the balls on top and hitting them so they roll out the bottom. He says "1-2-3" while playing, or names the colors as he hits them. He has a long attention span for this toy!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Plan Toy Hammer Balls
My 9-month old son initially didn't know what to do with this toy, and I actually didn't think it looked like much fun just hitting balls into holes. He first learned to place the balls into the holes, then to push the balls through. What was beautiful to watch, however, was the other ways he played with this toy. He pushed other little toys through the holes--some fit through while other didn't. He turned the bench upside down and placed the balls on the ramp, watching them roll off. He also turned the bench on its side and balanced the balls on the slit. We let him play with the mallet a couple of weeks later, always under our supervision. This toy is solidly-made with quality materials, withstanding all his banging and teething. I am very pleased with this purchase!
