Reviews of 30 Extra Blank Books
Came promptly and in good condition. My son likes to write stories and was burning through our printer paper. This saves paper overall and is already for attend for him. That being said, I see him growing out of them soon because he likes to write longer stories than the space provides.

Creative Charms - Vintage Brads 9/Pkg Reviews
These brads will lend an elegant, vintage look to your greeting cards. I subtracted a star only because the prongs that hold the brads in place are a bit short.
There are nine brads per package, six small (about 3/8" in diameter) and three medium (9/16" in diameter). Three of the brad jewels have a light violet opalescent sheen and the rest are faceted dark-amethyst-colored glass.
The brads can be used on all types of greeting cards. See above customer image for an example of a sympathy card using one of the small faceted brads.

I got these for my 2 yr old daughter to get her preschool ready and I like that they're simple and straight forward. Great educational tool.I help out at the headstart at the community college I attend and saw the teacher using these! Since I recently started teaching my younger cousin (age 3) I figured I'd buy these to help her out. She LOVES them!

Buy Magmasaurus Magic Volcano
We purchased this for our 4yr old and he loved it. We removed it from it's case and emptied the water and watched it shrink back to size after a few days. Now we're on our second magmasaurus and this time we've changed the water several times and removed only the top lid and it continues to grow! It's pretty cool. We've had to place it in a couple larger containers to keep it growing. We're not sure how large it'll get but we're on week 3 and it's still growing! What a cool toy and strange material.

My 3-year-old loved watching all the bubbles fizz up from the volcano to reveal a little dinosaur. But, of course, he wanted to play with the Dino after it was revealed. Don't know if I was missing something, but the top seems to be glued on, and the Dino is attached to the bottom of the jar. Had to perform minor surgery to get it out! All-in-all, it entertained him enough to be worth the price...just not designed to be user-friendly!Honest reviews on Magmasaurus Magic Volcano

Review of Small World Express Egg-Shape Sorter
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $6.95

Having purchased many of the Hide and Squeak Eggs sets for my son and birthday gifts for other babies, I thought I'd give this egg set a try: it's not worth it. The Express Egg Shape Sorter just isn't as enjoyable. You have to line up the pieces just right to get them to connect, and for little hands and little babies, this just isn't possible yet. Also, the case is very flimsy and the whole thing just feels so cheap.
The Hide N Squeak Eggs come in a really fun case, the shells intermix and young babies can connect them on the different eggs very easily. Even the eggs are cute, when you press them they squeak! It is difficult for my son to put the egg shapes in the right place in the egg carton, but not a big deal; he enjoys playing with the eggs while he's learning to master this skill.
The Express Egg Sorter has limited appeal and use. Really wouldn't buy these again. I definitely recommend the Hide N Squeak set.
If you put an egg in the carton wrong end down it can get VERY stuck and what kid knows to put the skinny end down?
The case is flimsy plastic.
The carton says 18 months+ but it is a choking hazard for kids under 3...hmmm.
The "quote" on the side is supposedly by a 2 year old "With the Egg-Shape Sorter learning my shapes was over easy!" what 2 year old says that!!

I'm puzzled by some of the other reviews...my child's experience with the egg sorter is completely different from those who report difficulty and frustration. A friend of mine gave it to my son when he was 2, and indicated that it was her daughter's favorite toy. My son found it equally entertaining. When other toys were cast aside permanently, it was one that he would go back to. Visiting friends were always attracted to it as well. When he at last outgrew it, I kept it in the very small collection of sure winners for visitors and potential grandchildren. Yes, there is a right way to put each egg together, and a right way to fit the egg in to the crate, but it is designed to promote pattern recognition and build dexterity. Challenge is good! I agree the handle is flimsy but it hasn't been a problem in the 13 years that we've had ours. Of course it only got daily use for about 2 years. I'm now buying another set for nephews who want their own!Best Deals for Small World Express Egg-Shape Sorter

The plastic is so so cheapthe latch almost broke and clearly bent when I opened it the first time (the plastic in blue and there is a white bend mark in itif that makes sense.) The eggs themselves don't come apart with reasonable force in my opinion. My nephew has the TOMY set and loves it so I am returning these and purchasing that.Best VTech V.Smile - Lil' Bratz Smartridge Deals
I like this Bratz game. It has many games to play that are fun enough for the older ones(4-5) but still easy enough for my youngest (3). A good choice for little Bratz fans!
Vtech VSmile graphics are pretty simple, but at that age I don't believe the kids really care. She had fun with it, and now her little sister is also enjoying it many years later.

Buy Vamos A Hablar Espanol! (Let's Speak Spanish!) Book 1
I picked up this book for my 3rd and 4th grader. They do not get enough Spanish in school, and bilingualism is important. So, I picked this book up, and I was very pleased.
It isn't a colorful book, but it makes up for that in content.
Each lesson builds upon the previous one.
The best part to me was that by the end of the book your child will be writing basic Spanish sentences and small paragraphs.
This book will ease your child into reading and writing in two languages.
And, it is thin enough to no be overwhelming.

LeapFrog Farm Animal Mash-Up Kit Reviews
My son got this for his second birthday and he loves it. My biggest problem is the animal inserts are made of thin plastic and are a little difficult to put in. We have the Leapfrog ABC magnets and they are much easier to put in. I am not sure if this because they are thicker and not hollow.
I like that these store in the stream lined box, and how easy they are to put in and out of the 'mashup maker'. So far my 13 month old can't quite put them in, but loves taking them out and pushing them down, and pressing the music button. The animal noises are cute, and the "that's silly" phrase makes him laugh. It's simple, but gives animal facts, colors, noises, and songs, which makes it a total win in my book.
It's very sturdy, and has survived being stepped on, dropped, shoved under a couch. You can't miss with this for your little one, or as a gift!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We had one similar to this several years ago that was a refrigerator magnet. This one is much more user friendly in my opinion. The little barn that the puzzle pieces fit into is the lid of the storage bucket. There are more animals with this set too. If the little one puts the front half of the pig with the back part of the duck, there is a little song about it that ends with "that's silly." If, on the other hand, they get the correct two pieces together, there is a little song praising their effort and telling them what animal they made and what sound it makes. It is such a cute toy and the babies love it. The therapists love it too and frequently use it when they come. This has been a great hit at our house with our two toddlers.Best Deals for LeapFrog Farm Animal Mash-Up Kit
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I thought this was a magnetic set, which in the past I had in the alphabet version, and was a little disappointed that it wasn't. We had gotten the award winning Alex Jr. popbeads for my son for his first birthday but he didn't really get into beyond shaking the container and dumping them out and putting them back in until my mother spent a few hours with him, teaching him to "pop" them apart and "snap" them together. After this they became a favorite in the toy rotation.
Although the container says 6m+ on it, we went ahead and got the next in the line (also award winning), the Alex Jr. Baby Builder, for our son who is alost 20 months for Christmas. It includes more popbeads but other pieces for making more elaborate creations as well.
It was an immediate success with both my son and my 21 m.o. nephew wanting to play with it all weekend!!! And all the adults were having fun making wacky creations with the colorful pieces.
We like this set better then the popbeads alone as there is so much more to do with it. Although I think my son's favorite part is still to shake the container when full (but with the lid off) and have the pieces rattle about loudly and evantually all fly out all over the place. He takes the shaking very seriously and is very intent on his purpose. Then it's all smiles and giggles.
Pulling apart the beads and putting them together (even with help) are definitely developing his fine motor skills and I think as he gets older he will be able to focus more on building creations with the other pieces whereas now he primarily just takes ours apart.
A couple items to note. I don't think a 6 m.o. baby would be able to pull apart the popbeads and definitely note put them to together (my son still needs a bit of help with that) muchless actually build something. I'd probably suggest for 15 or 18 months and up.
Curiously, the popbeads in this set seem to be sightly easier to put together then the ones in the set of popbeads alone. Not nearly as much help is needed from an adult he was almost doing it on his own on Christmas Day and I think soon will be.
The plastic these are made of feels on the cheaper side but so far they have held up to a lot of toddler abuse with only a few dents. I was concerned that my son would chew on them and break off and swallow an end but again so far no problems and my son puts everything in his mouth and has a full set of baby teeth. But I do think that if an adult wearing shoes stepped down on one it could be squashed.
Again these were an immediate success with my son and I think he'll enjoy for many more months. The colors are bright and cheerful and the shapes fun. I highly recommend for young todders (15m 24m, and maybe older)and may be getting a set for my nephew!
These have better play value than standard pop-beads because there is more versatility in how they can be put together. Both our 15mo old and our almost 5 yr old enjoyed these (I also caught our 8 & 10yr old playing with them). These are perfect for a household that needs something a preschool-age child would enjoy and that is safe for a baby to get into.

This was a Christmas gift for my 6 month old. He had no idea how to 'build' with it, but that didn't stop him from enjoying it. The colorful blocks were so much fun to chew on, suck on, and toss around. My 2 1/2 year old loved it as well. He was old enough to put the blocks together and loved building chains. Six months later, this set was still played with daily by both boys. Unlike most toys that are boring after about a week, this toy continues to hold their attention what a great find!Best Deals for ALEX® Toys - Alex Jr. Baby Builder 1982
I bought these for my 6 month-old after playing with them at a friend's house. They were an instant hit. At 8 months old now, he still gets excited when I bring out these blocks. He loves grabbing the blocks and pulling beads apart. The curved shapes are perfect for teething on. The orange lid piece is just as much fun as the blocks. My son also loves tipping over the jar and watching the pieces tumble out. The jar is fun to roll around and rattle, and it is useful for teaching kids how to put blocks away. This toy will grow with him, as he learns to attach pieces together. It's fun for parents too. Save money and buy this builder set, instead of buying the "pop beads" and "first snaps" separately. I'm considering buying a second set, so we can make longer chains.Honest reviews on ALEX® Toys - Alex Jr. Baby Builder 1982

My 19 mo. daughter loves these! She like to take them out of the container and put them back in over and over again. She has started trying to put them together although she is much better at taking them apart. I like that there is a large number of them to keep her occupied. It is almost impossible to get them all back in the container so that the lid will close all the way so I just usually just set the lid on top.Thursday, September 11, 2014

Review of Kidoozie Peek N Peep Eggs
Peek N Peep Eggs and Crack & Chirp Eggs by Play Right put out by Walgreens are exactly the same product. What I found interesting was the pictures on the Kidoozie product listing are on the actual "box" for the Crack & Chirp Eggs. Also the faces, colors, and egg carton are exactly the same. Crack & Chirp Eggs are "HALF" the price and are the exact same item made in the exact same factory. Consumers be smart when buying..

Excellent sturdy colorful toy! My daughter is 16 months and absolutely loves these eggs! They help to teach colors and shapes (the bottom of each egg has a different shape to fit in the bottom of the egg box). Buy Learning Resources Inflatable Clouds
I picked up this set of inflatables on Dec. 4th to use with my 5th graders who learn about weather as part of their science curriculum. It was a lightning deal for $20 at the time, so the current $10 is a much better price and would probably bump my personal review to 4 stars as I definitely take the entire value into account.
The clouds are interesting to the students. They enjoy holding them and anything that can grab their attention is a plus for me. It's a decent supplement after you've studied pictures and online resources with the students. The product mentions that it includes a fact guide, which simply gives a working definition for each of the 8 cloud types included and a quick matching activity and answer key. Some of the clouds only display their image on one side in order to allow more light to come through the inflatable, similar to the clouds themselves, which is an interesting touch. I haven't had to use the repair kit, but it's nice that there is one for each of clouds. Hooks and strings were also included and seemed servicable.
With a little work and creativity these inflatables can be an effective addition to a science lesson. They seem well made and have held up in the week that I have been using them. The pictures also aren't quite as vivid as the product image might suggest. Overall, they don't have a lot of staying power and are likely something that I will pull out to use with my students once or twice a year, with online videos and nature walks still being the best way to demonstrate different cloud formations.

This has been a great resource for our weather unit that we had. The kids loved being able to see the clouds in 3D.Best Deals for Learning Resources Inflatable Clouds
They look less like clouds than we realized when they came (some of them sort of have a cloud design on one side of them, rather than being shaped LIKE the cloud they represent), and I'd like if there was an info sheet stating how high (respectively) these hang in the sky (just for ease my nine year old already knew, but otherwise I'd have had to look it up). Have them up in a corner of the room and everyone who comes in asks about them. Would purchase again for this price!
