Came promptly and in good condition. My son likes to write stories and was burning through our printer paper. This saves paper overall and is already for attend for him. That being said, I see him growing out of them soon because he likes to write longer stories than the space provides.

LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus Reviews

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Not surprised that a company as well respected as Leap Frog made this wonderful toy. Many times, toys like this with a sound element sound garbled and tinny. The sound on this toy is crystal clear, just with just the right variable volume. The buttons are the right size for little fingers to easily manipulate them, and the sounds are bright, happy, and engaging.

I like that there are 3 different modes with this toy, engaging various different skills (motor skills, letter/picture recognition, following simple directions, etc.). It is so fun the little ones will not even realize it is educational.

I also like that the toy is light weight, yet sturdy. It is easy for little ones to hold, and will withstand the inevitable drops that will occur.

All in all, another A+ toy from Leap Frog.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is another winner from LeapFrog. Already adept with an iPad, my 2-year-old daughter had no trouble learning how to use the LeapFrog Touch Magic Bus. She particularly likes to listen to the songs and play with the piano keys. Ingeniously, when the songs are playing, all of the piano keys are keyed to make sounds from the same chord family as the song that is playing, so the piano sounds actually complement the song being played and do not create any dissonances. This makes my 2-year-old feel like she's actually contributing to the song, and that's fun for her. My only complaint is that I would love for this toy to have more songs (there are only three songs).

As for the letters, it is nice to have a toy that has good sound quality and that enunciates the letters (and the sounds for each letter) well. This is particularly important for young children who are still learning to speak. My daughter doesn't have as much fun with the letters as with the songs, but I think she is learning from this aspect of the toy.

Finally, there is a game mode that says things like, "Find the letter K." This is a great mode for slightly older children who already know their letters well. I think this game mode will make this toy appropriate and fun for a wide range of ages. All in all, this is a great toy with lots of learning potential.

Best Deals for LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus

This is a very light, colorful, musical toy which is great for car rides. However, I have to deduct a star for educational value (even though I think LeapFrog is great), because my 2 year old frequently thinks she is pressing one letter, but gets another letter's soundbyte (because it's very easy to set off a letter sound if your sleeve touches the device while you're reaching for a higher letter). Maybe for an older kid this wouldn't be an issue though. The music is catchy and it's great the way you can play along with the piano and your accompaniment always sounds great. The illustrations are a little creepy and not the usual Leapfrog Scout/Violet/Leap. I like it that there is a learning option, a game option, or a music option. It's challenging to hear the sound and find the corresponding icon and sometimes I don't know what the correct answer is myself. Lots of interesting non-standard selections (not the same old choices) and the sound quality is great. I think at this fifteen buck price, it's a good deal. My 26 month old showed a TON of interest in the store with it...then when we got it home, not so much...and now at 27 months, she's all into it all of a sudden. I think a slightly older child would get more out of the games but I thnk even a much younger kid would have fun just playing around with cause and effect and pushing buttons).

Honest reviews on LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus

The colors are truly vibrant and the sound quality is good (albeit somewhat on the loud side), with three music songs which are catchy (and not annoying). My two year old hasn't shown the same attention to this as she has to other LeapFrog products (perhaps because she prefers the animated screen devices), although she really enjoys the piano section (which is great because they've set it up so that any note that you press during one of the musical songs matches the song in a pleasing harmony, so there is no way to sound bad)! There is an exploration/learning mode where your child can press any of the many touch points and here the letter name, sound, or the name/sound of an item or a "play" mode which asks you to find a certain item (sometimes by sound as in "touch the picture which makes the sound ___" (which is a little tricky even for me!!). The illustrations are a little creepy looking and not the usual LeapFrog characters. My main fault with this is that it is easy to press the wrong button as my 2 year old's sleeve hits the device so from an educational standpoint, I see her getting confused when she thinks she is pressing the letter "B", but it's making the sound for "R" which her hand has ever so slightly grazed as she's reaching for the B. If you can get this on sale, I still recommend it as there are many different options here and perhaps and older child wouldn't have that issue. I also think a much younger child (9 months) would enjoy this just to explore cause and effect with pressing buttons. It is very very light (so much lighter than you would expect), making it nice to have on a child's lap in the car and easy to transport (although it's on the large side).

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Today's youngsters are expected to have a basic set of skills and knowledge before entering first grade, or even kindergarten. Letters, letter sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, and a basic vocabulary should all be part of the young learner's repertoire. The Touch Magic Learning Bus gives little learners a head start on letters, letter sounds, and listening skills.

In a fun format the little one learns to recognize letters and the sounds they make. He or she also learns to recognize initial letter sounds of words representative of the letters. Some of the word/letter matches are untraditional like: mararena for M, wave for W, lime for L, and otter for O. Since I'm a vacuum cleaner fanatic, my favorite combo is vacuum for V.

A youngster touching any of the letters is treated to the spoken letter, its sound, and the name of the representative picture. There is a quiz mode during which kids are asked to identify specific letters or objects. There's also a mode that allows the user to play music, listen to songs, and even add instrumentation to the songs.

Learning Bus is large enough to display all the letters and sample object pictures, a six key keyboard and five musical animals. At the same time it's light enough for small hands to hold and manipulate. I like that all of the edges are rounded for safety.

This Indonesian-made learning tool is a worthwhile purchase, though I do have several quibbles. The clarity of the spoken words on the unit could be better; instead it can be a little muffled at times. In quiz mode, little ones are asked to identify individual letters or objects. I wish the mode would also ask users to identify specific letter sounds. For example the voice could make the "b" sound and ask the user to find the letter that makes that sound. It would add another dimension to the toy. Maybe I'm expecting too much for an instrument that's designed for those 2 and up.

As much as I hate to admit it, Learning Bus has far more educational value and interest longevity than a Mr. Potato Head will ever have.

A friend gave our daughter the starter pack for her 5th birthday a few months ago. She absolutely loves it. She tore through the first few puzzle books in the first day, so I bought the next set. Great variety of teaching concepts, from spatial reasoning to mathematics. Terrific teaching tool, lots of fun for our daughter, and ingenious method to show the child that the have the correct answer. I look forward to moving up to the more challengin set of books for 7-8 year olds.

This game is great for my 3K son. He needs to learn his alphabetletters, sounds, and writing. He feels like a "big boy" playing his game and he is learning! We like it.

My son was getting stuck on the second letter (H) so I tried helping him. I did everything it asks you to do several times but after the last step it starts you over saying, Are you ready to learn the letter H? Really? Ug. How is it an adult can't even get this game to progress. Maybe I got a dud, stuck on a loop But really, save yourself the frustration and try a different game.

Update: I got tired of having this game just sitting around being useless so I called customer service. They told me they were having difficulties with this game and to recalibrate the screen. (you can get there by holding the ? button while you turn the system on or go into the settings) it finally let us get past H but is still a little too difficult to be labeled for 3 yr olds. There are other 4+ games out there that are easier to play.

This is one of my daughters favorite games on her leap pad. She is 3 1/2 and while she already knows her letters pretty well, this is helping to cement the sounds with the letters in her mind. This game teaches what the letters look like, what they sound like, and how to write them, all using fun little games. I love it when kids are having so much fun learning that they don't realize they are actually learning! It's definitely an easier game for the little ones. My 7 year old played it for a minute and got bored since he can already read etc

Honest reviews on LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Letter Factory

This was purchased as a gift for a four-year-old grandson. He loves it!!

I taught school for 40 years before I retired--the last 18 years were in preschool. If I still were teaching I would get several of these players and games to use in centers for the children. This game teaches capital and lower case letter identification, how to write them, and phonics in a most delightful way!! The game shows how a letter is made and then the child traces it in the right way or tries again until he has it. Great feedback!! And most of all--fun, fun, fun!!

My 4 year old grandson loves this game. He is an independent learner and has been able to really focus on all that the game teaches sounds, rhyming words, letter formation, etc. and have fun while doing it. He was recently screened for kindergarten and passed with flying colors, partially due to the games he plays on his Explorer.

Barn Owl Pellet: Each: X-Large Review

Barn Owl Pellet: Each: X-Large

I bought the owl pellets for my two boys. I remembered dissecting owl pellets when I was their age in school and wanted to share the experience with them.

They received these as a Christmas present and after the amusement of their other toys wore off, they were excited to do these. I helped my youngest son open up his aluminum foil covered pellet and was happy to see it was just as I remembered what they looked like. Gray, fuzzy and smell free.

Then I helped my oldest son open his, his first reaction was that it smelled really bad, and when we removed the foil we had two large rat skulls staring up at us. These skulls had caked on fur, that looked like it was shat on by an owl. And the smell reminded me of my dog's favorite perfume, "Dead Squirrel Le Toilette". My assumption was that it escaped sterilization, but encouraged my son to try to remove the fur to get some pretty cool skulls to check out. That worked out, until a maggot crawled out of the skull. After killing the maggot, my oldest son took off, and lost complete interest. I took the skulls and tried to boil the fur off, but found that the skulls still had muscle matter on them and my house was beginning to smell like death. Everything ended up in the trash, including the pan.

In summary, they are fun to dissect and my youngest had a great time identifying the bones with the bone chart enclosed. You do have to provide your own tools. We used tweezers, scalpel and small pick. But, if it smells really bad, you're better off leaving it alone, unless you like bugs, half decayed muscle tissue holding the skulls/bones together. But, I would take the risk again if my children wanted to do these again.

Best Deals for Barn Owl Pellet: Each: X-Large

I'm sorry, but even with the educational value of this "toy," it is just unnecessarily expensive. Cause walking into an owl cage, or out into the forest to find an owl pellet is so hard. Why on Earth does anybody think I'm about to blow five or six bucks just for shipping and handling (on a three dollar item)? Fat chance. Lower the shipping cost and maybe I'll consider buying it, and tell others to buy it too. But for now, I'll stick to walking through the forest.

As a teacher, I think this game is great for learning and practicing time. You can use it 2 ways: Showing a time on the pretend clock that is included or reading the analog time off of the clock. This feature can make the directions a little hard for children to understand, but once you explain that they choose one of these 2 play methods, it's really very easy for them. The 2 ways to play also make it multi-level which is great too.

Hydrogen promises to be a major part of our energy future, because it has the capability of storing and transferring energy without the use of Carbon or fossil fuels. When you burn hydrogen, the main output is simply water vapor and heat. Or use a fuel cell to make electricity, without putting CO2 into the atmosphere.

I bought this kit for my renewable energy educational project (see The Solar Bus at http://solarbus.org). I've been wanting to have a display about hydrogen for a long time. I was amazed at how easy it was to set up and how much hydrogen I could generate with the small solar panel. I would recommend this to any teachers out there who want to show students the uses of hydrogen.

Safari Ltd Incredible Creatures- Sea Turtle Review

It floats! A bath time miracle for young children. A large floating sea turtle is a hit. Perhaps it is almost slightly too big, but I won't complain about a kid's toy over-delivering for the price.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

For the money, I wasn't expecting such a large toy. This turtle is roughly eight inches long from nose to tail and doesn't fit the scale of the rest of my Schleich, Safari, and PAPO figurines. That's not really a negative but whoever did the hand-painting did such a sloppy job I may be forced to return it. There are several smudges of white paint on the dark brown of the shell, and one of the lines separating the dark plates of the shell itself is so far off I think the painter must have sneezed or something and then didn't bother to fix it. The pattern of small brown scales on the head and legs does not go up to the body cavity like it shows in the photo and several times the painter simply swiped the entire area with brown paint to coat the entire surface. You can see brushstrokes and mistake after mistake. Maybe it was his first day on the job?

All in all, definitely not a quality item. I would only buy this in-stores or be prepared to send it back if they send you such a sloppy item.

Turtles are fascinating. I have this one and a tortoise on my bed. Easier to keep cleaner than stuffed animals. Good company.

Honest reviews on Safari Ltd Incredible Creatures- Sea Turtle

This was a fun addition to our backdrop for the under-the-sea end of the year school party. This lazy looking little turtle is wonderfully life-like and helped to make our party a huge success. He was given to the school for their prop department after the party and will be put to good use for many years to come as he is a sturdy little 'fellow.'

I purchased this game for my 2.5 year old and 4 year old. They both love it. My 2.5 year old plays it the most. It's definitely a game for the early learner as my 4 year old tends to play more of the 5-7 year old games.

My 3 yr old daughter loves this Dora game. It has different languages and she loves that. She loves going through and playing the games too. They have an easy and difficult level so older kids can play too. Great game!

Best Deals for VTech - InnoTab Software - Dora The Explorer

This game doesn't hold my 5 yr old's interest for very long. If the game is geared toward her age group then it should keep her interest! There is only one story on the game and a few games which isn't too bad for amazon's price but everywhere else the innotab games sell for around $25 and that is too high for what you get with this game! We also have the Disney princess innotab game which has two different stories and a few games and we are happier with that one.

My 4yr old daughter loves her innotab and this game!!! It keeps her busy and entertained for hours. I would recommend this game for any child who loves Dora.

My 3 year old son loves this game. I wasn't sure what to expect since there is very little info on it. There is 1 interactive book (3 little pigs), 2 "creative" games (create an adventure and flower garden), and 3 games (what's the difference, snack time, and twins' day party). The amount of choices on this cartridge is great. It is actually hard to get off the innotab because of this game, although he has been learning a lot, including spanish. So far this is the only extra we have given him but considering the amount on it we will definitely be purchasing more. Also great for a boy or girl. There are also 2 levels of difficulty, he has been using the easy/1 star, so I am sure he will continue to grow into this game.

LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra Carrying Case, Green
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Overall this is an "okay" zippered case that's stiff and molded to fit the LeapPad Ultra. The only thing I like about it is the cartridge holder, which is really why I bought this. However, the LeapPad will fall out if you're not careful. I'm not sure why LeapFrog didn't fix this, because this was the same issue with the previous case for the LeapPad 2. Older kids can open the case and take the LeapPad out without it falling to the floor, but younger children will have an issue with this. As it is, I had to tell my son to lay it flat on his lap and open it slowly, or open it on the floor. Most of the time I just get it out for him. Really needs a velcro strap across the middle. LeapFrog, if you're reading this, please consider this addition. I am going to sew one in mine. The LeapPad Ultra is so heavy it falls out easily. On a side note: the LeapPad Ultra will fit with a Gel Skin.

Parents, please do not try to shove your LeapPad Ultra into the old LeapPad 2 case. Trust me, it won't fit. Invest in the study case. It is worth the money.

Best Deals for LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra Carrying Case, Green

I never bought this kind of case with the LeapPad or the LeapPad 2 because I had heard nothing but bad reviews, the main one being the zippers were really hard to zip. So when the LeapPad Ultra came out, I was bummed to see that there were no other carrying cases available. Knowing I needed a case, I ordered it anyways. I'm so glad I did. They seem to be made better than the ones for the original LeapPads. The zipper is easy for my children to open by themselves. It hold 6 games (more if you don't mind putting two games in one holder. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a case for the Ultra!

I teach high school Spanish. I use this game (among others) with my students on periodic "game days." High schoolers LOVE to play games, especially ones that look like "kid games." This is a super game for beginning and intermediate Spanish learners. I let them use a dictionary to search for new words too. This game reinforces old vocabulary and teaches new vocabulary.
