Review of LeapFrog LeapPad Club Kit with Mind Station Connector, Leap's Pond

Customer Ratings:

This package is a SUPER deal. I bought this for my 4 yr old and he shares the mind station and free 6 mos subscription with his 13 yr old brother. The 13 yr old has an iQuest & it was cheaper to buy this package that includes the K-1 activity sheets and the Leap Pond magazine than it was to buy the mindstation by itself. This is a great addition to the Leap Pad!!!

I bought the mind station in 2007 hoping to help my son with his spelling words. You could use the leapfrog site to create your child's spelling list for the Turbo Twist Spelling Game. Well Leapfrog stopped supporting this function in January of 2008, so I got less than 4 months use out of this. I am very disappointed with Leapfrog and after years of supporting them have stopped purchasing the Leapfrog products. It should have been simple to include a disk that allowed customers to use their computers to create the lists at home, but I got absolutely NO response when I questioned about this. They sent me disks for the Iquest, which is the one Leapfrog product I DIDN't buy.

Review of Contact Paper Roll, 18" x 25 Yds, Royal Blue

Customer Ratings:

The Kittrich shelf liner paper was exactly what I ordered and of high quality at a reasonable price. The transaction was easy with no problems. I would buy this product from this vendor again.

I bought this (with a roll of yellow as well) to line the cabinets in my blue and yellow kitchen. It applies easily and sticks well. Just make sure the surface is CLEAN or it won't stick. I have one spot on a shelf that had varnish spilled on it and it didn't want to stick there, not a problem though-glued it. Other than that, I've had no problems for the past year that I've had the paper. Still sticks great and wipes clean easily. I sat a bottle of corn syrup on a shelf, not realizing at first that some had dripped down the side of the bottle. When I noticed it later, I was able to use a damp paper towel and wipe it right off the shelf-even though it had started to dry! Great product!

Best LeapFrog iQuest Handheld Deals

Customer Ratings:

I have math tests nonstop at my school and this really helped me out. I would really recommend Mind Station connector (sold separately) to download chapters to a cartridge. It feels like you are playing a game with the music in the background and it gives you time to think and when you are ready it shows you the choices. If you don't get it on the first time, it gives you a short reminder of how to solve it.

I keep all my addresses in this and the dictionary is really helpful. I didn't know studying could be so much fun. You can even take the faceplate off and have it just be silver.

If you want it to be more advanced than buy a harder cartridge. They even sell a test prep SAT which will be helpful to me in the future.

If you want your child to look forward to studying, I would consider this item. I have been using this since my mom bought it for me 2 years ago.

As with any educational product of this type, there is a lot you can get out of it if you want to. I purchased one last year for my daughter in 6th grade and got a lot of use out of it. By being able to download questions from the books she was using, she always had a handy review with her and was one step ahead of the class. It also comes in handy when they forget to bring their books home. We travel a lot with sports and this is a very good tool to use in the car to study. She will be using this through 8th grade and loves it. I am now in the process of ordering another one for my younger daughter who is starting 5th grade this year.

Best Deals for LeapFrog iQuest Handheld

As a parent of 5th and 7th grade children, I was interested in researching the IQuest. Initially it was very confusing as the companion products, being the MindStation, various math and science catridges, and blank catridges for use with mindstation, aren't really well explained as they related to each other. I wasn't sure if I needed to buy the entire lot, or just a few pieces. After viewing the leapfrogtoys.com website, and buying the IQuest and Mindstation package, I determined the best way to go is to buy the two pieces of hardware, mentioned above, and then some of the blank 4MB catridges. This enables the user to download specific textbook material, chapter by chapter, and then "play" with this stuff in the Iquest. It is much more helpful than buying the generic math and science catridges advertised for grades 5 8. The Mindstation internet connector is easy to set up and use, and it's easy to find your child's textbook and download the appropriate chapters. The kids are finding the Iquest fun to use and I think it will be helpful, particularly in Math and Science.

It's a little pricey, ... for the IQuest and Mindstation, and the 4MB catridges are [cheap], but you only need one or two per child as they can be erased and reused for different subjects or different chapters as your child works their way through the textbook material. There's also a small fee to keep connecting to the website once the 6 mo trial expires, .... So far we feel it's money well spent.

Honest reviews on LeapFrog iQuest Handheld

For my son's last b'day, he went to look for a gameboy type of toy but when he saw iquest, he chose that. He has had it for over 6 months now and it is his constant companion. He was in second grade when we got it and he has already mastered the 6-8 grade science cartridges and is working on social studies now. It is fun way to study and definetly lot more meaningful way of spending time then playing gameboy. We recently decided to get the Mind Station also to expand the iquest capability.

It has been well worth the investment.

IQUEST IS A WONDERFUL WAY FOR MY 6TH AND 8TH GRADERS TO STUDY MAIN IDEAS FROM THEIR SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS. FINALLY, SOMEONE CREATED THE TECHNOLOGY TO DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY FROM TEXTBOOKS AND HELP STUDENTS TO REVIEW AND PRACTICE VIA THE IQUEST HANDHELD. WE PREFER TO USE THE BLANK MEMORY CARTRIGES TO DOWNLOAD CURRENT CHAPTERS. I HAVE TO ADMIT I WAS SKEPTICAL AT FIRST, BUT AFTER USING THIS FOR A FEW MONTHS,I CAN HONESTLY TELL YOU THAT IT IS A PURCHASE WELL MADE. THIS TRAINS STUDENTS HOW TO TAKE TESTS WHILE SHOWING THEM WHAT THE KEY POINTS OF THE CHAPTER WERE.WE OWN THE MIND STATION WHICH MAKES DOWNLOADING A SNAP ON TO THE IQUEST HANDHELD. THE ONLY PROBLEM WE'VE EXPERIENCED IS A COUPLE OF THE BLANK MEMORY CARTRIGES DIDN'T GET RECOGNIZED BY THE MIND STATION. WE HAD TO EXCHANGE FOR NEW DISKS. A GREAT STUDY TOOL THAT MAKES LEARNING MORE INTERESTING. A GREAT BUY.

Review of Anatex Mirror Sculpture Maze Panel

Customer Ratings:

Got it for my office waiting room and the little guys gravitate toward it. In fact, one little girl (age 2), after playing with it for a while, exclaimed, "Mommy, those circles have ME in there!" Lots of colors and concepts to play with. Can keep them happily busy for quite a long time. Very durable. I have been solidly impressed.

UPDATE: Bought this in 2005 or 2006. Now in 2012 and after three moves it's still going, and the kids love it! Still looks brand new. Worth every penny.

Best Fisher Price Lazy Town Music Transporter Deals

Customer Ratings:

I know this toy is rated for children 3-yr+ but since my 20-mo old son really loves lazy town show, I though this item would be a great present for him, and I wasn't wrong, he absolutely loved it! It's a great way to keep him singing and dancing and of course having a fun time, especially when Stephanie sings "There's always a way", he can be at any place and as soon as he listened it he comes to sing and dance.

I bought 2 pieces because I know that when he loves a toy he plays and plays and plays with it until it got damaged, and it happened, he was pressing buttons to many times to listen the songs and sometimes pressed 2 buttons at same time that finally the toy was failing (not all times), and when he realized the toy was damaged he started crying in a way that I got my heart broken, his face expressed so many sadness that I explained him that sometimes it can happen, but "there's always a way" and immediately I searched for the 2nd piece, you can imagine the bright on his eyes when he realized he has another one working perfectly well.

Definitely, it's a great toy if you want your children singing and dancing all the time.

Discount Spanish Flag Honor Medal Set of 10

Customer Ratings:

I wanted to do a 'student of the year' in each class I have in Spanish, and I wanted something of high quality to give the kids who earned it. The price on these was a little steep for a first year teacher, however, when I got the package the quality of each medal is great. They are really pretty I know they will be appreciated by my students as an extra special way to say 'way to go!'

I work in a middle school as a math resource teacher, so I mainly work with strengthening basic math facts. This game is great b/c there are enough boards for a whole class, and the cards are double sided so that you can choose between two different games. I do hate punching out all the little red bingo chips, but it is totally worth it for the price. I have the multiplication bingo game by this brand too and my seventh and eighth graders LOVE it!

I purchased this for my grand daughter Chloe, who is five years old. She loves it!! Reading is such an important skill to foster in our children. She loves the device. I had read her many books on my kindle and she wanted her own and this fits the bill. I do wish there was a larger selection of books available on this device, I have purchased nine for her so far, I do hope they expand the library available. I also bought the car chargers so she can read on her long trips to visit grandma!!

A great gift and good value!

Honest reviews on VTech - V.Reader Software - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

This is the first cartridge we bought to go with our daughter's v-reader. Our daughter is 4.5 years old, and she really enjoys the story and games. The games are definitely aimed at an older age group but she can do about 1/2 of them by herself and the rest are challenging enough to keep her interested.

My son is now 4 but has been playing Mickey since december (age 3) and this game along hs taught him how to use his fingers to trace shapes (in the game tracing around it makes the shape look like it is being welded out of a piece of metal) so now he is able to draw them with crayons and identify them and also can count change ALSO taught him left from right in the directions it was giving to trace around the shapes. I recommend this game to anyone.

Honest reviews on Activity Teach Time Triangle

It has great bold colors, but that's about it. It is quite large I think my baby would like it better if it were smaller and lighter where she could hold it and shake it. My 3 year old picked it up and it didn't last long with him either.

My son really enjoyed all the activities on this toy. He doesnt play with it as much now at 16mths as he did at 7 months, but he still will pull it out every once in a while and just sit in the floor with it and play with it so it was deff worth the money.

Cheap Mohs Mineral Hardness Scale Set, with (9) Specimens, Magnifier

Customer Ratings:

I got what I paid for although I expected the specimen sizes to be more uniform. Also the nail provided looked chromed which will mess up the testing against it. I would have liked to have them in a portable and more compact divided poly box. Also the magnifier was a toy, with a narrow field of view. I am glad I have my own microscopes.

The Moh's Hardness kit is great for showing streak and hardness for when I teach about rocks and minerals. It comes with rock samples and what you need to show the "1 though 10" scale of hardness. It gives that "little extra something" when you're teaching this particular concept.

I have not given the gift yet. I hope she likes it. She likes to study different types of rocks.

Honest reviews on Mohs Mineral Hardness Scale Set, with (9) Specimens, Magnifier

Moh's hardness scale set with 9 specimens really only has 8 "real" specimens as the item listed as Topaz is more like a piece of manufacturered plexiglass (clear and transparent). It has none of the characteristics identified in the accompanying book and can't even scratch fluorite let alone quartz. Attempts to scratch anything harder than gypsum result in pieces of the "Topaz" flaking off.

We bought this for a cub scout demonstration and it worked well. Good mineral samples provided. There may be better kits out there, but this is good for the price. I was a bit confused with the purpose of the included nail (part of the hardness scale) and the magnifying class is fairly cheap, but it worked well enough for demonstration purposes. One could find each mineral at a rock shop, hardness scale on the net, a magnifying glass in any toy store, and nail in your front tire, but it is nice to have it all contained in one kit.

Reviews of Hape - Double Rainbow Stacker

Customer Ratings:

I bought this for my almost 9 month old because she needed some more toys and I wanted a few that she could enjoy now and grow into.

I decided to get this shape sorter because

No bells and whistles

The wood pieces are from solid wood

The wood peg is held on by strong elastic string so it bends if the baby falls onto it

Educo (Hape Toys) is a Chinese manufacture but meet EU and American standard for toys

Toy shapes appear to be solid wood (web says maple) Base and pegs may be plywood (other main material in product from site)

The box says 12months + but I figured if I took the small pieces out we'd be okay and she will only play supervised right now anyway. The rounded flower pieces are smaller then the star shape pieces. I took the first few of the shapes away from her to save for later. Now there is no choking hazard.

My only complaint is that the peg and the pieces fit snug together. Our daughter at 12 months may not be able to put the shapes on the pegs without help. I may look into sanding down the peg a bit-but for now she is enjoying something new since a rainbow of colors are spread out across the blanket in the living room. She seemed delighted when I gave it to her.

You can mix and match... the posts are the same size.

We really liked that it used elastic to secure the wooden posts to the base... this way if a little kid falls onto it, the posts will easily collapse on their side instead of impaling them.

My niece loved it :)

Best Deals for Hape - Double Rainbow Stacker

If you want a stacker that will hold your child's attention, this one is a good choice because it is one of the more interesting ones out there. It manages to hold my girls' attention without the use of any batteries, and that's a major plus for me. It could also be used to teach the basics of sorting. I mix all the pieces together and have them separate them into the 2 different shapes and then stack them.

Honest reviews on Hape - Double Rainbow Stacker

Well, I don't know what to say except that it's definitely a double rainbow. In fact, it is also complete, making this item a *double* *complete* rainbow It's so intense! From the right angle, one might even say that it is beginning to look like a triple rainbow. But somehow, I'm left pondering one question. What does it mean?

Reviews of Prestan Products - Prestan Professional Infant CPR-AED Training

Customer Ratings:

Pros: "realistic" body features and weight, monitor is awesome for the students and instructor, easy to use.

Cons: Setting up the lung bag could be tricky. The belly isn't so simple to open up and once you open the belly it bulges at the sides after you close it.
