I expected that the car would just crawl around, but to my and my 4 year and 6 year old grandchildren surprise they had a great time chasing it around the kitchen. A good example of how a battery works, also wiring is easy but interesting. Well worth the effort to assemble, make sure and "deburr" as stated in instructions.

I love this magnetic picture schedule. I have two boys on the spectrum and i use this and the other add on sheets for both of them. It helps them know what is going on throughout the day and helps them transition from one activity to another. I like it better than the other ones i have tried (the laminated paper ones wear out and get lost, the magnetic one i had from Melissa and Doug was more of a reward chart for good behavior and chores)

I have the add on sets and it really helps my oldest remember his chores (he knows that he must feed the dog before he gets his afternoon snack) and it is helping my youngest with potty training (so thankful i am no longer using the velcro schedule for that, we're taking him every 30 minutes to the potty)

I really liked this schedule for a fun way to not overwhelm children and yet get them to complete things on their schedule. It is a good quality product and I haven't had any issues with the magnets or wear and tear. I think everyone needs to follow a schedule so this was just perfect. I would say that the blank magnets are almost necessary so that it fits each different household. I don't think this toy is meant to be 'fun' like a toy fun so I rated it a 3. I think that it is fun for a learning tool but those are two different types of fun.

I bounced around Amazon trying to find a keyboard and mouse for my 3 and 4 year old daughters, and am really glad that I chose the Chester Creek product.

Fit, finish and quality seem good and the bright colors make the kids happy. It's also nice to know that when they're looking for a letter I can tell them what color letter to look at. Size is excellent and both kids have no problem using the mouse. The only bad is that they now want their own computer!

Definitey something that I would recommend and I'm really happy with the seller, too, who shipped the same day my order was received.

We bought this for my 4-year-old daughter. She has been using it for about 9 months and it is still like it came out of the box. My wife and I like how the keys are color coded and the mouse is the right size for a childs hand (but still easy enough for an adult to use).

The good:

My grandson loved the colors. He does not have the handling of the mouse down yet, but the mouse fits his hands well. Everything works well when plugged into a Windows 7 and can work with two mice and keyboards plugged into at the same time.

The average:

The keyboard is a typical plastic build and both the mouse and keyboard feel a bit on the flimsy side.

The bad:

While the colors are vibrant and eye-catching for our 4 year old, the choice of yellow keys with white printing is a terrible move. Simply stated you cannot read the characters on the yellow keys. At this time we are not worried about the punctuation etc. so we will make do, but what a terrible decision.

I purchased this keyboard and mouse set for my six and four year old children. One thing I REALLY like about this keyboard versus others I've seen is the size. This keyboard is regular keyboard size with color coded keys instead of a keyboard with over sized keys. I would recommend this product.

The economy has been tough for the past couple of years. I had to decide whether or not I should let my kids attend an expensive daycare this summer versus me cutting back work hours to be at home with them and save $750. We adjusted our household budget and for the summer I decided to homeschool my 4 and 5 year old sons. We went to the dollar stores and collected the appropriate supplies and then I got online and searched for supplemental educational resources, and BINGO! I decided to purchase 'THINKING KIDS MATH GRADE K', since my oldest was set to begin Kindergarten. I consulted with several people with early education backgrounds, and they always pointed out that we as a society don't put enough emphasis on numbers, from recognizing numbers to actually counting things. Most kids at that age (I know there are some exceptions)have memorized their numbers through recital and repetition. Well, this kit has many colorful, laminated, and well-illustrated worksheets that take learning math a step further beyond what our kids may or may not already know and understand. I have definitely noticed a difference in the way they see, think, and perceive the things around us. After a couple of days of reviewing the lessons, they were counting and adding things everywhere, from cars on the highway to the peas on their plates! This set is a great jumpstart and asset to any kid's early education. It requires dry erase markers and an eraser, so make sure you purchase those.

It has three different games your child can play as they get older general description of animals and their sounds, identifying the animal noise with the animal, and identifying the name of the animal with the animal. He loves the music and even enjoys chewing whatever part of it he can get into his mouth!

The "Discover Amber" kit was fun for the entire family. Buffing down the pieces of Amber to reveal the bugs inside was a real treat for me and my kids. In one of our pieces we found a really cool looking insect. This kit was hands-on, educational and fun. I highly recommend it!

The Discover Amber Kit comes with five pieces of real amber, six sheets of sandpaper, a foil tray, a magnifying glass, a booklet, and a real scorpion inside a piece of fake amber on a key chain.

If you're looking for the instructions, it's on the back of the booklet. Sand the amber on one plane in a tin of water for a few minutes on each piece of sandpaper starting with the one numbered 1 and moving on to number 6. There's really only enough room for one person to work in the pan at a time, but you can always get another tin of water.

My eight year-old daughter and I only polished one side of each piece, as instructed, so it looks like a window into the amber. The organisms trapped inside are very small, smaller than an ant. Some of the pieces don't have any visible organisms at all. We tried the magnifying glass, but it is plastic and not very functional. Still, we admire the amber for its beauty.

The booklet is short but packed with information. It tells where amber comes from, how the insects get caught inside, how to tell real amber from fake amber, and a little about scorpions, as well. An interesting fact I learned: the amber in the kit is 2 to 40 million years old.

My daughter and I both had fun and learned something together today. She gives it five stars.

This kit was a big disappointment! I was very excited to get this kit and begin polishing the amber with my son. We read the book which I found to be educational and interesting but the fun ended there. We highly polished all the pieces of amber and only found 2 small ant like bugs. One of them was so close to the surface that we polished 1/2 the bug away before we could examine it. The other was so small we could only tell it was a bug with a magnifying glass and then only barely. I contacted the company directly before writing this review in the hopes that they would respond. They did not return my email. Too bad it was such a great idea.

My grandson, age 6, was excited to polish the amber to see what kind of "bugs" might be inside. Unfortunately, there were few. However, he got a sense of pride when he presented the polished result to his mother for Mother's Day. He did a good job, and didn't lose interest, even after he learned it was basically clear, because it became very pretty gift, that he made himself.

These were just like the ones I used in school. The size was exactly as they said it was. They shipped them in a tube so as not to wrinkle them. They arrived as expected and work just as I wanted them to.

Buy Dream Dazzler Stylin' Guitar

I have been looking at guitars for my 3 year old's birthday... she loves playing instruments! I was torn between this one and the barbie one, and I'm so glad i went into the store to look at them in person!

The things I like about this one are the buttons actually play one note, all of the other guitars would play an entire song with one push of a button.

It also has actual buttons... the barbie guitar had one long plastic thing, with pressure points under, which seems like it could break easy. The other guitars I looked at did have the buttons too, but like I said, they all played more than just a note.

The strings light up and look like they will be fun to play!

The only thing that turned me off about this guitar is that the whammy bar does not make whammy type noises, it actually says phrases, like "Wow", "you rock!", and lastly "whatever!". I don't really want my daughters saying "whatever", and I know my 4 year old is going to get a kick out of it saying that since we tell her NOT to say that. i don't understand why these companies have to ruin a good toy with things like that. That was my only issue with this though! The price was so good too, so I bought it! as usual, the price is about half at TRU.

one other complaint that I've seen on other website reviews, is that there is no volume control... but with any toy that has no on/off switch, or plays too loud, I put a piece of clear tape over the speaker, and voila! it's a more tolerable volume! :-)

When my daughter got the Barbie movie about the Pop star, I knew she'd love a little guitar. I looked at a lot of online reviews and saw this was one of the only ones that actually had real strings, not just buttons. Some of the others also had comments about the end coming off, whereas this guitar is very sturdy. The girls love it and it has a shoulder strap that you can take off if you're worried about it getting wrapped around their neck, or leave on if you like. I highly recommend this product!

This is a special singing bowl. The vibrations bring healing. It has a different, higher pitch than most bells that you hear. So the sound is very different from the Tibetan style singing bowls. It is beautifully made and a very different, distinct tone that you normally do not hear in a singing bowl. Excellent craftsmanship and a very, very good price. My kids (Four and Three) love this. My wife and I will often spell out words on a piece of paper and have them mimic the words with the alphabet pieces. It didn't take too long before my four-year-old was spelling out her own words. The theory behind Montessori materials is sound--when kids are able to touch and feel the shapes of the letters, they are able to learn the letters more quickly, and it sticks with them better.

I am a Montessori student teacher and I'm unable to put my daughter in a Montessori school yet so I decided to give her some skills at home.

There is so much you can do with this learning tool! My 4 yr old daughter helps me come up with new and fun ways to explore words. Her favorite is when I pick out some picture/word flashcards for her and then she likes to surprise me with all the words she has laid out when she calls me back into the room. :)

We all know that stage of toddler-hood. They no longer fit under the snap-in tray but you don't want them to eat on your tablecloth. This is what you get. It is multi purpose: we use it for crafts, there is learning value, it is easy to clean off, and it is hearty. We have the baseball mat and the solar system mat and my son loves both of them. We gave this to our then 22 mo. old son for Christmas. He adores it. It turns it's head from side to side and the wheels give it a cute little waddle. We like to pretend it's trying to munch on peoples toes or deliver little dragon kisses.
