Review of MEGAshield KIT for Arduino MEGA 2560 R3

MEGAshield KIT for Arduino MEGA 2560 R3
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
#1 The board allows you to stack another board on top of it. The row next to the standard pin location is connected to the pin row. This allows you to use whatever pins you want and leave the rest alone which may pass on to the card you stack on top. This is true for even the double row of digital pins on the end. Their duplicate is the white strip.

#2 The double row connected in the middle is positive and negative. You select 3.3v or 5v by soldering in a jumper.

#3 TWI/I2C has 4 connections in addition to the standard connections on pins 20 & 21.

#1 is the most important and I couldn't find any other board like it.

This kit met my expectations in every aspect. All the parts that were shown in the photo were included in the package.

I have bought several of these after breadboarding a number of circuits with the first. They will form the sensor I/O star around a LAMP configured Raspberry Pi whose purpose will only be buffering of data if necessary, and the Xmission of data to the main server.

Honest reviews on MEGAshield KIT for Arduino MEGA 2560 R3

I agree with all the other reviews. This is an excellent board and much better than the board available from Sparkfun, which I own. The only reason I am removing a star is because it was missing the jumper.

I would have liked a component list printed with the package.

This is by far the most convenient shield for the Arduino Mega that I've seen.

Instead of just a raw board (which would also be ok), there are several great features, such as an I2C bus area, a general purpose switch, and the DIP area. I had trouble finding a spot for some of my larger components (they would cross the VCC/GND bus or some other reserved pin), but ultimately everything fit. More importantly, fitting these components in around the features is a very small price to pay for the enormous convenience gained by all those well thought out hard wirings.

So with all those features, how many components can it realistically fit? On this single shield, I now have a GPS receiver, 3 axis accelerometer, 3 axis rotation rate sensor, magnetometer, altimeter, data logger (all on breakout boards), a piezo speaker, and 2x5 pin connector drawn to 10 of the Arudino's pins, and I still could fit a level shifter and a small SMD component. I can't really expect more on a prototyping board.

Even if I had a stack of other types of Mega shields just sitting on my desk, I'd still buy this shield to save myself all the little headaches. Great board.

These flash cards use the Hot Dots pen to self-correct your child as they learn. Using one of the flash cards, the child will choose the correct answer to the problem presented. They touch the circle next to the answer they select using the pen. The pen will flash a red light and/or make a sound if they are wrong. If they are correct, the pen will flash a green light and/or make a sound.

The cards are double-sided, so there is a problem on each side. The answers are not on the cards themselves. The answers are given on a separate sheet of paper included with the cards.

The cards have a white plastic index-card size case to store them in.

The cards are not colored, they are simply black and white. There is an addition problem in the center of the card, and two columns of possible answers on either side of the card.

On every card, the child must add two numbers and then select the correct answer. It may help to give your child manipulatives or scratch paper to do these problems.

My children enjoyed these cards much better than traditional flash cards or workbooks.

I would recommend these for first or second graders for reinforcement of school work.

The cards do not come with the Hot Dots pen, so you will need to purchase that if you do not have it already.

The cards with math facts seem to be fun and motivating for the younger students I've tried them with . The older students enjoy improving their time on the math facts. The students can complete this with minimal supervision, and I've seen great improvement in math skills and self confidence.

We are very pleased with these. We had been looking for a teaching aid to help with addition. These are great! My son is very interested and likes the clear numbers. A great tool.

The idea behind Hot Dots making learning more fun is great, but the execution just isn't there. The flashcards are rather thin, and unless you have the pen aligned perfectly on the dot and perfectly up and down, which what 5-9 year olds are going to, you get inaccurate results. My 7 year old is constantly complaining that she chose the correct answer, but the pen said it was incorrect. Very frustrating for her!

Best Spy Gear Micro Spy Kit X-2 Deals

Spy Gear Micro Spy Kit X-2
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

My 8 year old had some birthday money left over and suggested we do some research on the internet for spy gear. After an exhaustive search he decided on the micro kit. He was not disappointed. Everything worked right out of the box with the exception of the motion detector which needs 4 triple A batteries and a small phillips head screwdriver. The best tool is the night spyer as the magnification works very well and the red spotlight is cool looking. The motion detector is a little too sensitive as it went off without much (and sometimes nil) motion. But better to be too sensitive then not to work at all. The spy listener worked well also as my son stood in his room and whispered and I could hear him perfectly. Without the spy ear I could not make out a word he said. The voice scrambler was very cool also. Although the sound is tinny it doesn't really matter as you use it to alter your voice anyhow (it also alters the speed of what you say). The belt holds everything conveniently and clips securely. Is it durable? If you throw it around or step on it, it won't last long. But with some care it should last. I didn't feel that it was shoddily made. If you consider that you get 4 really great spy tools it is definitely worth the money. Your child will not be unhappy.

This belt kit brings together 4 toys that are in other package deals or available separately, but at a better price here. And the waist belt is really nice, with a special slot clip for each item; it is adjustable and is a nice durable nylon webbing material. We have had no problems with it or the belt clip. You can also wear the belt over your shoulder like a bandolier, and it look really cool to the kids that way. You can see separate reviews at Amazon on each of the separate 4 toys that are on this belt. They are the Micro Voice Scrambler, Nightspyer night Mini-Scope, Spy Motion Alarm and Micro Listener, and I have to tell you this belt gives Batman's utility belt a run for it's money. A reviewer had problems with the motion detector, but ours has worked really well over the last year.

The "Micro Voice Scrambler" is one of the kids favorites, it is great for playing on the phone, or just goofing off with each other and it is nice to hear them laughing so hard while they play with its settings. It not only changes the tone, but the speed of the voice so you can sound deep and slow like Darth Vader, a robot voice, or a baby voice, or the chipmunks high speed voice. The "Spy Motion Alarm" works good, it can be placed anywhere you need an audible alarm to let you know if the enemy is coming. The battery lasts a long time, and a tiny red LED on one side lets you know if it is on. It has a range of about 20 feet for detecting motion. The spy micro listener allows you to hear footsteps and whispers over 30 feet away. The "Nightspyer night Mini-Scope" is basically a set of mini-binoculars with a hidden pop-up flashlight. This toy is the weakest of the 4, and is more for pretend action than anything else. The other 3 actually do what they say and are very worthy little gadgets.

The toys are durale and none have broken in the year we have had it. Spy Gear sells other toys like the Micro Scope that have their own clip built in, and so you could add it to this belt. All of these are great fun for hours of spy play, camping, or just backyard fun and the price is right.

Best Deals for Spy Gear Micro Spy Kit X-2

I got this toy about a year ago at a target. It is so much fun because it has a cool belt that you can wear instead of having to carry around all 4 devices.

I rated the fun of the toy only 4 stars because I can't seem to find all the devices. I think that is just my problem.

I rated the toy's educational value 2 stars because it taught me nothing except to buy more spy gear.

I rated the durability of the toy 5 stars because it is very durable.

I rated the toys overall category 5 stars because it is a lot of fun when I have all 4 devices together.

Now I am going to tell you about all of the devices.

The MOTION SENSOR is my personal favorite because I can see if anybody is entering the room I am working in. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is that it is very loud. Somebody will know you are in there by the noise. I wish it just lighted up!

The VOICE SCRAMBLER is a basic recorder except that you can move a lever and your voice is scrambled.

The SONIC EAR is a thing that magnifies the sound into the headset.

The LASER BINOCHULAR is the dummest and last thing in the set. It has a fake laser and it has binochulars built into it (with only one view hole).

The SPY BELT is the most conveniant thing. It has a compartment

for each device.

Overall, it is an awesome toy! If you take my advice, you will leave this computer wanting this toy.

Honest reviews on Spy Gear Micro Spy Kit X-2

This toy is great! The NIGHT SPYER really works well. It can see in even the darkest places. The detector is nice and sensetive [and loud....], and it sounds even when there is a little bit of light. The voice changer lowers your voice, but besides that, it works great. The listener is the best thing in the micro kit. You can hear voices from REALLY far away, and through walls. The durability of this toy is ......ok, but it won't last long if stepped on or dropped. The educational value is bad because there is nothing educational. But it is SO MUCH FUN! Buy this toy! You won't be dissapointed!

We are going on almost a year of having this spy kit, and my two boys are still playing with them. It is a hit with all their friends.

The voice scrambler is the best of the gadgets. It really works. The motion detector has also gotten a lot of use.

The only gadget we have had troubles with is the listener. The kids have to remember to turn it off. If you forget and accidently leave it on for a day, the batteries are dead.

Anyway, this is definately a kit that gives you your money's worth of play. I'm glad I bought it.

Well made, very sturdy, and comfortable handle.

I'm using this at the home, after seeing my uncle use it at his house for capturing flies in the house. It's less messy than a fly swatter, having to wait until they land then potentially splattering them all over the place...especially when you have food laid out. With the net, the holes aren't big enough that a fly can escape and then when you do catch one, release it back outside. Perfect!

My little guy loved these when he was 1 to 3 months old. He eventually lost interest, but there was a period of time when the only thing that would stop his crying was to set one of these cards in his crib to look at. I would also prop them up in his stroller bassinet when we went for walks. He would look at them and flail his arms to his heart's content for 10 minutes at a time, on occasion. They worked so well that I bought them as gifts for other friends who were expecting.

My son got this rocker for his 1st birthday and he loves it!!It's not only REALLY beautifully made but can be also removed from the wooden frame and WASHED!!!Another great feature is that when the rocker is outgrown, the plush-animal can be removed and used as a stuffed animal pillow for the floor or playroom...+ it's made of organic materials and replantable wood from old rubber trees, that no longer produce latex...!!ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY :D

I purchased this crocodile for my 13 month old baby boy, for Christmas. It is a beautiful toy. I keep it in our leaving room. I love the vibrant colors and the fact it is a very "nature friendly" product, safe for my baby. I also love the fact that when he grows out of it, the crocodile can be removed from the base and just be used as a pillow :) My son is still a bit too young to be interested in it, and he does not walk yet, but he often climbs on it and if I sit him in it, he is just rocking and happy. It may take him a few more weeks but it is coming. It is also very well designed and built, the different fabrics are nice and the overall quality is more than great. The wood is also wonderful, so much better than plastic!!! Anyway, I would purchase it again. It is simply a gorgeous toy!

We bought this for our 9 month old son (disclaimer: he is in the 97% for height and weight so please do take that into account) for Christmas. He LOVES it. He fits the rocker fine and can lean back on the tail if he likes (although he is fine grabbing the handles). It is very low on the ground, so if he falls off, the impact would be minimal. He is strong enough to rock it back and forth even at his age. It is a beautiful, well-built toy. Feel confident buying it.

The reasons for give the scope a 3-star instead of a 5-star rating is the camera. We are using the scope in the geology field. Unfortunitally the camera will not zoom out to take photos of a complete specimen but rather a particular spot on the specimen. I had no prior knowledge of scopes so it was a bit of a hassle trying to figure things out as the scope comes with no instructions for using the USB camera attachment. Other than this, it is a really good scope that does what it advertises to do.

I am totally satisfied with this microscope. It has the power that I was looking for, and the camera works great. I had to use it for awhile to figure out how everything works, but it displays on my computer screen, and I can take pictures of what I want and store them in a file. I would strongly recommend this seller to anyone looking for good quality, and honesty in dealing. Another bit of info that I would like to add is, you can do a little jury rigging and set the camera to focus thru one of the 20X lenses, focus it, and take the picture, and save it to your computer. The 10X lenses are too long. I've had to use scotch tape to keep it in place, but it still works very well for me.

'Scope was exactly what I expected. Works well, camera actually increases the magnification considerably and I think it will work with most any microor telescope that has the standard 3 cm size eyepiece. the CD-ROM that came with it was unreadable, but their customer service gave me a download link for the software.

Honest reviews on AmScope 10x-20x-30x-60x Digital Binocular Stereo Microscope

This is an awesome scope for the price. The camera is a little touchy to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is a useful and powerful addition to this scope. The scope itself is very easy to use and has a very good viewing area. The scope is especially handy with the double lights: one above for viewing larger samples and one below for viewing slides. For the price I cannot think of anything to complain about.

Hey, this thing is awesome! I use it to look at coins, and the 30x setting is just perfect for this. No more eye strains from peering through loupes for me!! NOPE!

The first one I ordered, the top light ballast blew out after the first 2 minutes. No joke. Replacing the bulb did nothing. But, I called Amazon and they sent a replacement immediately and it arrived in 2 days. I've used the replacement for around 40 hours, and it has worked perfectly. The scope has performed well beyond expectations at this price point.

Some coin collectors are buying those pen microscopes, like the DinoLite. Decent ones cost more than this AmScope, so this is a no brainer here folks. I haven't used the camera it came with, it looks like junk to me. But then again, I didn't buy this microscope for the camera.

I've been using my Sony DSC-T110 to take pictures directly through the eye piece, without changing it out. This point and shoot camera is 16MP and has a flat face with the lens housed inside the camera. No retractable optics. I just hold my camera against the eye piece and get AMAZING shots. By the way, this style of camera is PERFECT for macro amazing clarity. For whatever reason, this is a tip that people seem not to have caught on to. I've been using point-and-shoots to photograph directly through loupes the past few years and often get better shots than those with $2000 D-SLR setups and light boxes.

Take it or leave it, folks!

For children who find learning a new language fun, this is a good hands-on way to cement the spelling of words in both languages visually. This non-electronic aid is a bit more interactive than flash cards, with nouns grouped by subject. I have noticed there are two versions of this product: The older version is labeled "Slide and Discover" and does not include articles in front of nouns to indicate whether they are masculine or feminine, important for Spanish and French. A new version is labeled "Easy Translator" and cards include the correct article for each noun. Users can learn the correct word with either version, for my children I feel it will be important to learn the gender of nouns as well. The unit itself is sturdy, although a child may need help inserting and storing the cards.

Review of VTech InnoTab 2 Learning App Tablet - Pink

VTech InnoTab 2 Learning App Tablet - Pink
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program HOW ARE LEAPPAD2 AND INNOTAB2 THE SAME?

Both have the same screen size (2 ½" x 4 ½"), or 5" if you're measuring diagonally.

Both require 4 AA batteries (not included).

Both use a stylus.

Both have a cartridge port for additional games, and uses purchased apps.

Both have an age requirement of 3-9 years. VTech's Amazon page says 4-9 years, but the box and VTech's website state 3-9 years.

Both have a camera.

Both have additional accessories you can buy like gel skins, cases, rechargeable batteries, ac adapters, and headphones. UPDATE: the InnoTab doesn't have a gel skin accessory, just a screen guard you can purchase. LeapPad you can purchase both separately.

Both can be personalize for up to 4 players.

Both have eReaders, MP3 Players (InnoTab's is free, LeapPad's is an additional $3.75 through their App store), art studio, and most of your basic themed books and games.

Both have a mic and volume control.

Some people like to creatively take the tablets out of the box for setup before handing to a child as a gift. LeapPad2 was a bit difficult, but doable. The InnoTab2 is a bit more of a challenge; just use sharp scissors to break the tape and fold out the box carefully.

Both have a parent tracker that allows parents to track their child's progress and success playing a game.

HOW ARE LEAPPAD2 AND INNOTAB2 DIFFERENT?

The LeapPad2 is smaller. Actually it looks like with InnoTab2 they were the same size, but they surrounded it with an additional ¼" layer of decorative plastic with rubber corners to help protect it from a fall. For small hands I find it cumbersome. Plus it makes the screen appear smaller. But I do like the rubber corners.

The LeapPad2 has a front and back camera, but the InnoTab2 has only one camera that rotates (creative idea!)

The battery compartment on the InnoTab is easily accessible. Just slide a switch and it opens the compartment. I prefer LeapPad's more secure sliding feature. But if you're using a gel skin on either that helps prevent access.

The LeapPad2 only comes with one stylus, the InnoTab2 comes with two; always a plus in case you loose or break one. The InnoTab2 uses a secure rope loop but I looked everywhere in the packaging and there wasn't one! Also, InnoTab's stylus is pure plastic, flat, and slippery. LeapPad2's stylus is what you're more used to seeing (round like a pencil), and not slippery to hold.

LeapPad2 has 4GB of memory, InnoTab2 2GB... but, you can use an SD card to add an additional 32GB of memory. That's impressive! (SD card not included). I am finding that 2 or 4GB of memory is more than enough for our needs.

LeapPad2 I had to setup using their installation CD before I could play it, but the InnoTab2 you can start playing right away.

VTech has some interesting new apps that come with the InnoTab2 right out of the box, like a calculator app, calendar, notes, and clock. I don't know why, but I find that nice. I couldn't find those apps in LeapFrog's app store.

InnoTab2 has a tilt sensor like an iPad or iPhone and will tilt the screen if held horizontal or vertical. LeapPad2 does not have this feature. UPDATE: LeapPad2 does have this feature, but only with certain apps. For instance, the main screen (home screen with apps) does not tilt like the InnoTab2 will. The InnoTab2 will tilt with just about everything, but the LeapPad2 is limited to certain apps.

LeapPad2's store for purchasing apps is easily accessed. I went to their website and could browse their app selection right away. On VTech's website I couldn't find the app store to save my life. All I could find were the cartridges for sale, which are comparable to LeapFrog's prices.

InnoTab2 has buttons for brightening or dimming the screen, but don't expect much, there's only four bars and it doesn't make a lot of difference.

InnoTab2 has a "?" button that allows you to hear instructions again, or find out more information about an app (nice touch!).

InnoTab2 comes with a manual. LeapPad2 does not.

InnoTab2 you can upload your own videos and pictures (supports JPEG formatted photos, and MJPEG/H.264 videos (avi)). You'll need to convert your videos for use. Quality isn't like an iPad or iPhone, but little kids won't mind. Transferring videos and music is quick and easy. LeapPad2 doesn't have this ability, you can only download/purchase videos from their website to watch.

InnoTab2 has a "kickstand" for standing the tablet up vertically or horizontal.

So what's the overall review?

Honestly, I feel the InnoTab2 is just what the original LeapPad was: s-l-o-w. InnoTab2 takes 37 seconds to reach the app home screen. LeapPad2 takes 21 seconds. With LeapPad2 it takes almost 5 seconds from the time you select an app for it to start. It takes InnoTab2 almost 8 seconds. It just feels like there's a lot of "loading" going on with the InnoTab2. I'm nit picking of course, but it makes a difference to me.

Also, my son just turned 3. When he tries to swipe the screen to the next page he sometimes touches an app, which causes it to load. He then has to wait for it to load before he can go back to the Home screen and try and swipe again. This happened to me a lot, too. If I lay my finger down for just a fraction of a second the InnoTab2 thinks I'm selecting an app instead of swiping. So you have to be careful to swipe in an empty space; my 3 year old isn't capable of that when the screen is filled with apps. The LeapPad2 just uses arrows to touch at the bottom of the screen.

Overall I feel the InnoTab2 is really not geared for 3 year olds (just like the original LeapPad wasn't either). The screen isn't as bright and crisp as the LeapPad2, and the tablet doesn't feel as solid in my hands.

LeapPad2 is currently $20 more; I'd really suggest getting a LeapPad2 over an InnoTab2, especially if you have a 3 year old: Older kids probably not that big of a deal, just a matter of preference. The included apps seem geared toward older kids anyway, whereas LeapPad2 apps are more 3 year old friendly with their PetPad tracing alphabet game, and the overall designs of the included apps more basic. For example, the art studio in InnoTab2 has like a million color choices, but LeapPad2 just has basic colors to choose from.

InnoTab2 is compatible with LeapPad2 in education, but I feel like the tablet needs more work.

Vtech has done a great job improving the Innotab with their newest version.

Some differences I noticed that are not in the description:

The battery cover now has a switch you have to slide, which makes it harder for kids to easily open.

The size of the system is smaller, but the screen size is the same.

You can add four profiles and one guest. Also, you can add a photo to the profile.

The first Innotab, it was too easy for kids to delete apps from the system. The Innotab 2 has a lock over the trash can so kids can't accidentally delete.

The system comes with two stylus pens and there is a hole on the stylus to tether it to the system.

I love that they have added the camera and 2GB of onboard memory. We have added 11 aps, one music album, and a few photos to the system and it still has 1GB of free space left.

As for battery life, I recommend buying two sets of rechargeable batteries. That way while one is charging, you have a set ready to go.

Best Deals for VTech InnoTab 2 Learning App Tablet - Pink

We were looking to purchase a kid-friendly tablet for our 4-year-old for her birthday. I was debating between the LeapPad and the Innotab. From the reviews the LeapPad had only had 1 thing going for it over the Innotab, and that was the camera. Well, VTech stepped it up with the Innotab2!

My only buyer beware statement is that it eats batteries. If you don't have rechargeable batteries, you will hate this toy. The battery life, depending on the quality of battery you buy, is really only a couple hours max. I would definitely recommended rechargeable batteries. You can also purchase an AC adapter for about $10, but keep in mind that this doesn't charge the Innotab. It merely supplies power.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was impressed with the VTech's original Innotab because its common sense factor offset any shortcomings (when compared to its competitor, the LeapPad). The INNOTAB2 adequately addresses most all of the issues associated with its predecessor and presents itself as a more refined product with some "outside the box" add-ons that really make it shine.

For the second straight year, VTech and LeapFrog will present families with choice of a children's tablet computer for the holidays: the INNOTAB2 and the LeapPad2. Honestly, they are both great products and I feel they complement rather than rival one another. But, if given the choice between the second generation of these tablets, I would choose the INNOTAB2 because LeapFrog seems geared towards creating an iPad for kids whereas VTech's approach is to simply offer a kid's tablet ... the design between the two sets them apart more than anything. The INNOTAB2 is a fully functional tablet device that is designed to appeal to kids and more importantly, handle all the toy abuse a typical kid delivers.

Structurally, the INNOTAB2 is more refined and rugged than the original. By trimming the sides a little and making it somewhat thicker; the tablet grips more solidly, like a book rather than a magazine. The contoured rubber-bumper corners also feel more protective than those on the Innotab. The tablet comes with a stylus that again slides and snaps into the side. The stylus has been changed so that it is thicker with no pointed tip (like a crayon) and a backup stylus is included. A bar on the tablet offers a stylus tether option, but oddly, no tether was included. The INNOTAB2 includes an add-on cartridge that snaps to a slot on the side of the tablet. I liked the way the add-on cartridge is designed to snap flush with the side of the tablet and not protrude in any manner (another kid-proof feature). Other design aspects include a battery compartment with a smaller slide bar for access, rubber knobs underneath to prevent any scratching when placed flat on a table and, like the original, a solid plastic stand is integrated into the back of the case.

The "guts' of the INNOTAB2 include 2GB of on-board memory (something that was missing in the original Innotab) with the capability of accommodating an external memory card of up to 32 GB ... more than enough. The processing speed at start-up is a little sluggish/slow, but the applications run smoothly. The lack of a camera on the original has also been addressed as the INNOTAB2 has a camera at the top with a lens that can be uniquely "rolled" to face the front or back for pictures and video. Button controls on the surface include: "on/off", "home", volume control and the camera. A "?" button triggers a quick and convenient "help" function. Software and a USB cable are included to allow computer/internet access. I found VTech's website a little cumbersome to navigate but eventually managed to download some programs to the tablet (the INNOTAB2 can accommodate any programs downloaded for the original Innotab, as well). VTech's Learning Lodge Navigator offers considerably more options now and the add-on cartridges include Dora, Hello Kitty, Disney, etc. The graphics, especially for a kid's toy, are surprisingly good.

Overall, I like the INNOTAB2 and all the improvements it includes. My only issue is that VTech will soon be rolling out a Wi-Fi version of this product, called the Innotab2S ...

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First of all, let me say that I like Vtech's products. In general, they make educational toys/books/etc that my children have benefited from. The InnoTab 2 delivers this as well. Without looking at the instructions (could be dangerous right) I handed it to my kids to test. They had it up and running, playing games, reading books, toying with the video feature before I even looked at it. By the way, THEY give it five stars. The only downfall of the product that I see, and this has been related by others, is that it eats batteries. However, overall my kids are having fun with the toy. I tested its included apps and found them to be intuitive and simple enough for young minds. This is a great "toy" and I will likely purchase more ebooks and apps to go along with it. five stars.

My daughter was 19 months when she got this toy and she has had it for about 2 months and she loves it. It keeps her attention longer than any toy we have. I would highly recommend it. In fact, I am online to find more cartridges or roms for it.

My daughter is 26 months old and she absolutely loves her learn through music. The microphone broke pretty easily because she carried the toy by it but other than that not too much to complain about. She learnt the words very quickly and thoroughly wnjoys the toy. I would not hesitiate to buy this toy again even if this one broke.

I purchased this item thinking it would fit the new "Learn Through Music Touchpad" I purchased for my 2 year old grandson. It must be cartridge for an earlier version of the toy, because it would not fit in the new one I had purchased. I was raked over the coals by Amazon for not only return shipping, but also for the original cost to ship it to me. I recommend that the description of this cartridge include the fact that it will not fit any newer touchpad. After contacting Amazon customer service a refund was issued for the shipping. Thank you, Amazon.

This is by far my 2 year old's favorite cartridge for his learn through music machine. He has so many other cartridges for it but always goes back to this sesame street one. He started playing with it when he was 20 months old & 7 months later...it's still his "go to" toy. Only complaint is that we had to purchase this cartridge twice because he plays with it so much the photo inner liner gets jammed and won't move. We gladly replaced it because it's his favorite toy ever! He can answer all of the questions the cartridge asks. It's a winner!

The AlphaZoo Spinner is a terrific product. I gave it to my niece and nephew when visiting them (1 and 2.25 years). They both loved it. They were totally captivated by the spinning rainbow of letters and animals. A great way to learn about letters, and the names of animals that start with each letter of the alphabet. Each animal also makes fun animal sounds...the kids especially loved the Zebra sound effect. They had a great time pressing the large yellow sun button and watching the wheel spin. They quickly figured out that you can also move the wheel directly to a specific letter or the song spot. This is a total gem of a product!

I bought this for my 12 month old daughter. She likes to spin the wheel without even pushing the big yellow button mostly because she hasn't figured out yet that she has to push it pretty hard to get it to work. She likes it because it makes noise and sounds. It's not her favorite toy but she does play with it now and then. My biggest complaint about it is that some of the animals chosen to represent the letters are odd. For example there is bird for the letter "U" that I've never heard of in my life and I'm not even sure what the voice is saying ... "Umbrella bird" maybe? Also, the sounds that go with each animal can sometimes be random and really not have anything to do with the animal and sometimes it's just the narrator making the sound rather than having the actual animal sound. It's not a bad toy but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else for their child.

This toy does what it says it's going to do and has two modes of play and my daughter loves to push the big button and get sounds. However...the reason this is not getting a 5 star is due to some of the choices this company made.

The one mode recites the alphabet and that's ok. The other mode gives the name of an animal and it's sound. This is where it gets ridiculous. Some of the complaints I have is that instead of coming up with unique animals there are many renditions of birds on this. There's like five bird ones. In an effort to have them all say something different, the sound the child is taught that it makes is musical notes. The iguana apparently plays the xylophone. The yak says, "Mooo," which every other toy teaches as the sound for a cow. For N, the animal is a narwal, which makes splashing sounds. Some of these sounds are very hard for children to repeat back and it doesn't actually teach the child the actual sounds the animals make. I get that it's challenging to come up with a unique animal that corresponds to A-Z, but in my opinion, some of these choices were a fail.

I'd get it if you want your child to be entertained by song and noises, but not to teach your child animal noises. Also if you're child might easily become confused, I'd go to a see-and-say that may have fewer choices but has better ones.

Super cute toy with lots of great sounds .. you can learn letters, the sounds of the animals are voiced by a person so you can try to make the sound yourself with silly results sometimes that will make you and your kid laugh.. Its like a learning toy and a game. Cute present too got a lot of excutent when I brought it as a gift last week

My 11 month old loves spinning the wheel to hit letters and animals....but I've got to hand it to leapfrog....some animal noises are hilarious.....a yak goes "moo" the zebra goes "woot woot" , and I never realized there are no "regular" animals that start with the letter "n" :)
