These blocks are terrific for little ones since they are foam there is no danger of injury when the blocks fall and there is also no noise which makes them perfect for apartment living. My two year old loves the size and is thrilled to make very tall towers. I was unsure about which "jumbo" foam blocks to purchase but speaking now from experience, I highly recommend these. The thinner (less expensive) versions would be much harder to balance and the smaller ones wouldn't have the same impact. I also was torn between 16 and 32 quantity packs but at this stage/age, 16 is just right. It is surprising how much large foam blocks cost but after searching the internet, I was hard-pressed to find a less expensive source!

Our son is entering that stage were knocking down and building up blocks is a ton of fun. THese blocks are HUGE and yet soft and light and perfewct for him to crash into, roll around with and generally have a good time. Highly recommended!

We purchased these for our granddaughter's 2nd birthday. She had a prior experience with them with her play group and always headed right for them whenever she visited a particular friend. Now she has her own and plays with them all the time. They're very sturdily made and children love the shapes and colors. Great educational toy and a refreshing change from the "electronic poisoning" that this generation will be inevitably exposed to. We all enjoy playing with them with her. It's a great way to involve the whole family.

Several of the games borrow from each other by simply replacing letters with numbers, but overall there's a lot of variety here. My kids have been learning quite a bit from it and are even speaking some simple spanish! (I think it teaches 6-8 small phrases in total)

The computer talks and gives instructions for each game and the volume is adjustable (we have ours set on the lowest volume and its still fairly loud). There's an "answer" key if they get stuck and a "repeat" button if they don't catch what the computer said. There's a "mouse" connected to the computer but it doesn't serve as a traditional mouse. There's an alien on it that shifts up, down, left, right and his head serves as button. This is mainly how selections are made; no arrow keys on the keyboard. This was probably the hardest thing for my 3-year-old to grasp, but after watching his 4-year-old sister (who also enjoys the toy) do it he caught on fairly quick.

I have to say that I was taken back by the small screen size (roughly 2 x 3 inches despite the large size of the computer) but the kids don't seem to have a problem with it. Also the screen isn't backlit, so there has to be plenty of light to see it. Other than that, no complaints.

Something that I've been very surprised with is the durability. I've caught my boy dragging the computer across the floor by the mouse cord several times and it still works perfectly. Also, the top flips open when Buzz's head is pushed down but both of my kids for some reason insist on "forcing" it open themselves. I say "forcing" because it opens fine with a little tug and hasn't affected it latching down. Overall, I'm very impressed with the durability and am happy its still working despite all the abuse.

They don't play it every day, but 9 months later they still get it out fairly regularly. Highly recommended.

I will say, without hesitation, that this is the best electronic toy we've ever bought for my son!! He's 4 1/2....and loves this!! You will need to invest a few minutes "teaching" the child how to use it.......the mouse is really geared up for a small child.

It will take your child a month to work through all the activities! It's loaded with stuff!

The toy arrived broken but because I purchased it for Christmas at the end of October start of November, I can't return it due to Amazon return policy. When the toy arrived the batteries were dead. I examined the toy and all seemed well except for the dead batteries, which I had planned on replacing Christmas day. On Christmas day, I removed the packaging and pulled out the battery tab on the back of the toy. The laptop came to life. Then I made the mistake of closing the laptop. Now, it won't open at all. Which I find weird considering the whole time the laptop was closed while wrapped. To open the laptop, you must push on the bubble that contains Buzz and the laptop should pop open. We tried everything to open it including a screw driver and knife but all failed. The toy is just stuck closed. I'm disappointed but not nearly as much as my four year old son who keeps asking "Mommy, why did Santa give me a broken toy?" I have made several attempts at contacting Vtech but I just get the run around. Amazon return policy is difficult (short) and Vtech is unresponsive. Looks like we ate this purchase.

Hi folks -

We bought this toy on a whim while out shopping at a dept store. It was inexpensive, less than six bucks, and it was so cute we decided to buy it for our 6-month old.

It is extremely cute, with a face painted onto the front surface. Bright vibrant primary colors typical of Fisher Price, sweet as can be. It makes a popping noise as it is pushed along and it absolutely delights my baby. When we push it toward him, he squeals with laughter and joy. It's actually pretty funny since it is not obvious what is amusing about this process but somehow he reacts as though you're about to attack him with tickles.

His favorite thing to do with this toy is to spin the little barrel that is on the top surface of the train behind the smokestack. There are little dimples in the spinnable barrel and he is really enjoying developing his dexterity of his index finger by putting his finger in the dimples and flicking.

A huge hit around here, highly recommend especially if you can find it for a reasonable price like we did.

This is a tiny toy. Do not buy if you think it is big in comparison to the toddler model. The seller, however, is a perfect example of the kind of store we used to see in the old days you should buy all your toys from this seller. I made a somewhat negative review of this item back in December, and although I explained to the vendor via email that I was satisfied, they still sent me a refund check (which I will not be cashing). You can trust this vendor to take good care of you during and after the sale.

There are no sharp corners. Plastic is very good. It fall down from a high chair so many times and its fine!

Okay feel free to laugh. I bought one of these initially from a local store, brought it home, and set the sack in the floor while I unpack other items. My little Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix is EXTREMELY nosey and has to inspect all sacks when they enter our home. (She strongly suspects they all contain something for her.) She bumped this toy and "set it off" singing and talking. Once she overcame her fear and suspicions, she fell in LOVE with this toy. After all, it is incredibly cute, and it is interactive regardless if you are a human or a dog as long as the buttons are punched, it merrily sings and talks. It is also extremely durable. Normally she "guts" stuffed toys in about five minutes flat, but this little guy has stood up to some serious chewing, shaking, dragging across the floors (it is almost bigger than she is) and romping. However, my intent was to give this toy to my nephew (who is due at the end of September). Seeing how much she enjoyed the toy, I just went ahead and bought another one (with the CD this time) for him. It is the same toy, just a bonus CD. So, as unorthodox as it is, I can attest to some pretty tough durability after the tests my pup has put the toy through and her teeth are sharp and she can shake pretty hard, so I'm going to say everything will be safe and sound for my nephew. (He may be able to put it to tougher tests later, but we're good for a while.) :) I really like this toy and highly recommend it.

If you're choosing between this one and the Leap Frog My Pal Scout, go for Scout! My daughter now has both. However, I wouldn't buy this puppy again. The buttons/sensors in his hands/feet, etc, are way too sensitive! If you're dancing it around while it sings the ABC's, be prepared for it to stop and say "FOOT!" and discontinue because it doesn't take much to interrupt it. You barely have to push the buttons which, for some children, may be a good thing. However, it annoys me and I'm sure it will eventually annoy my child. I only spent $16 on this on a lightning deal here on Amazon, or I'd probably be sending it back. I've considered it... Besides Scout being better, you can also plug it into your computer and have it "learn" your child's favorite animal, food, color, and even your child's name... It can pronounce most names. I bought this toy for my 5-month-old daughter because my niece had the same one when she was a baby and I personally loved it! When I took it out of the packaging, I removed the demo tab, but it apparently stayed in demo mode. It would only sing part of each song, including the alphabet song only going up to the letter "p." I thought it was defective and prepared to return it. I read other reviews and realized that this was not uncommon. I took the batteries out and sorta jiggled the tabs next to the battery case with a blunt metal object. :-) After that, it worked fine and we both love it!

I HIGHLY recommend for you to purchase the Pixter. It is wonderful. My husband and I bought this last year for our then 4 year old son. Not only was it his favorite "Christmas Day" toy (and trust me he received about a million other toys that day!) but it has been his most favorite toy all year through. He will pick it up constantly and just start playing it. We definitely always bring it with us shopping and on trips. I found that designating a special backpack for his Pixter, game cartridges, GameBoy and its cartridges works out better than a regular specially made case, but that's just my opionion. We purchased the hard shell case for the Pixter also, and it is very durable, but I have just found the backpack to be more convenient. As for Pixter's durablity, my son has dropped his several times, tosses it on the couch, you name it and the thing still runs as brand new. Batteries last long also. Not only is this a FUN toy, but it's educational as well. My son has gained many, many fun-filled hours from the Pixter. It is one of the best things we have bought for him that has been so well worth the money. He is 5 years old now and continues to have this as one of his all-time favorite toys!! Buy it...you will be VERY happy you did! And so will the child in your life!

Pixters have been keeping our 4 children entertained for years. We bought the original system for our kids when they first came out and have continued to upgrade as Fisher Price has released new systems. My (at the time) 3 year old son got a Color Pixter for his birthday and it never left his hands for the entire year. We decided to purchase the Multimedia Pixters for our 3 year old twins (as we found them on a clearence sale after the holidays). They were such hit with them and our 4 year old and 6 year old children that we went back to buy the remaining clearence MM Pixters for their upcoming birthdays.

The battery life has been surprisingly good and they have survived many drops and crashes. Occasionally we need to recalibrate the screen by using the stylus tool to press the button on the back of the toy. The personalities of our four children range from "laid back and quiet" to "one who rarely sits down" with the others falling somewhere in between, but each of our kids are very entertained by their Pixters for very long periods of time. We highly recommend it!

We were looking for a substitute of the likes of the Video Now or some the other mindless electronic toys on the X-Mas must-have lists. It isn't much cheaper than those others, but we felt that the options for creativity were greater with the PIXTER.

Like the other systems there are built-in functions: a tetris-like game, a drawing page, word games, dot-to-dot pages, and more. The stylus tool is fairly easy to use and the drawing functions have many stamps, backgrounds and other methods to enhance artwork. The PIXTER will save selected works, also there are many accessories to extend PIXTER interest, additional cartridges some with licensed products like Sponge-Bob, Barbie, Walking with Dinosaurs, Teen Titans, each allowing real-time clips and editing of TV scenes ($20 each). One of the most interesting accessories is the digital camera for even more personalized creative play.

My 8 and 5 year old were hooked by the PIXTER. The only problem is the batteries, some systems come with chargers or AC ports, the PIXTER DOES NOT. We bought rechargable AAs for the toy.

I bought this for my daughter's sixth birthday. They reel you in with the game selections, however, the games are ridiculous. You can't really do anything other than draw on the screen. The icons are confusing. I would not recommend this item to anybody. Don't even THINK about trying the digital camera you can buy as an accessory for $40. The pictures are terribly unclear and fuzzy. I say put your money into a Gameboy or Leap pad. This is a terribly outdated toy and not worth $5.00.

We bought the Color Pixter for our daughter for her 3rd Birthday! (After we would spend hours using the demo one in the store) Her older cousin finally broke that one (throwing it on the ground a few times too many.. boys :-( So we bought her the new Multi-Media one for Christmas. She is now 5, and it is still her favorite! While the base system does not have many educational games on it, there are a lot of educational ones you can get, and the games are a lot cheaper than the Leapster cartridges! (Just do NOT get the digital camera!!!!!!!! it doesnt work at all with Multi-Media, and didnt work well at all with the color system!!!!) All the other games have been great so far! The economy has been tough for the past couple of years. I had to decide whether or not I should let my kids attend an expensive daycare this summer versus me cutting back work hours to be at home with them and save $750. We adjusted our household budget and for the summer I decided to homeschool my 4 and 5 year old sons. We went to the dollar stores and collected the appropriate supplies and then I got online and searched for supplemental educational resources, and BINGO! I decided to purchase 'THINKING KIDS MATH GRADE K', since my oldest was set to begin Kindergarten. I consulted with several people with early education backgrounds, and they always pointed out that we as a society don't put enough emphasis on numbers, from recognizing numbers to actually counting things. Most kids at that age (I know there are some exceptions)have memorized their numbers through recital and repetition. Well, this kit has many colorful, laminated, and well-illustrated worksheets that take learning math a step further beyond what our kids may or may not already know and understand. I have definitely noticed a difference in the way they see, think, and perceive the things around us. After a couple of days of reviewing the lessons, they were counting and adding things everywhere, from cars on the highway to the peas on their plates! This set is a great jumpstart and asset to any kid's early education. It requires dry erase markers and an eraser, so make sure you purchase those.

Best LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game Pixar Pals (works with LeapPad Deals

I don't know why everyone is saying the mazes in this game are hard to understand/do! My son is 3 1/2 and not only does he love the game but he had no problem figuring out how to unlock the keys to open the doors to the games. When he first played it I had to show him the concept of the game (on Nemo, the first of three he decided to play) and once I showed it to him he had no problem (and was able to to the others without help). Also, the instructions narrated before and during each game are very clear and explanatory. It shows where the keys are and tells you step by step how to use the functions of the game. I know some have said it was hard and confusing to figure out the mazes and their kids did not know what to do or the point of the game, but I did not find that to be true at all and neither did/does my son. All in all I can say he loves the game and has a lot of fun with it!

My daughter is almost 4 and she got this game for Christmas, it was challenging at first for her, but once we sat down and explained how to play it, she hasnt put it down. she loves replaying the games to unlock more puzzle pieces. she got two other games for christmas as well and hasnt touched them since first trying this game. every time she completes a game and wants to know how many points she got for it, she is always trying to beat her own score. i think this is a great game to learn and keep their minds busy, but expect to play it with your child at first to help them figure it out. well worth it!

If you look into it, you will see that I am not the only person who has experienced this problem. For all three games, there are two puzzles that you can build. You collect the puzzle pieces by completing the games in each one of the three games. Well, when you get to Wall-e, you are only able to collect 16 out of 18 puzzle pieces. After writing to the company and reading other peoples reviews who also wrote the company. We get nothing but a generic response back. If it were just me, I would not care as much. But this is upsetting my 3 year old who doesn't understand why he can't complete the last puzzle. Guess they just don't put the quality into toys these days like they used to in the past.

I found this to be a great case for my son's leapster gs. It fits perfectly and it protects well. I only use apps and do not use cartridges so I not the complaints that about the storage that others have had. Additionally my child has not had any difficulty zipping or unzipping the case.

The only two suggestions for the future cases I would make is a case are room for the charger and headphones and design options targeted towards boys (both of which I didn't feel was appropriate to judge this case on since I new what I was getting).

This case met my expectations. It protects well and is easy to use.

Cheap LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set - Styles May Vary

My 4-year-old daughter is a former micropreemie and as a result, she is profoundly delayed, non-verbal/non-sign, and has autistic traits and sensory integration dysfunction (SID/DSI). She functions at about a 15-month old level. She got this toy for her birthday and it is AMAZING!!! She is identifying letters...if I say, "where's the K?" she'll put the K magnet in the toy. Since she has autistic traits, she likes repetition, and this is the perfect thing! She is even starting to say some letter sounds like, "mmm, mmm, mmm". She has MANY Leap Frog toys, and this is another great one to add to the list!! My daughter licks *everything* in sight, including the letter magnets of this toy, and it has not affected the ability of this toy to work.

*** Note to parents/friends of Autistic/SID/DSI kids My daughter "stims" on several of her toys, but this one doesn't cause her to do it as bad. She sometimes likes to push the button of the toy without a letter tile to hear it go "blingy, bling", and sometimes will push the letter tile/magnet repeatedly at the beginning of the song so it goes, "A/A/A/A...A says/A says...but like I said, not as bad as with other auditory toys. ***

I do find that I have the "A says ah and A says ayy" song in my head a lot. There are two volume settings and an off switch. However, even on the low setting this toy is awfully loud. We put clear packing tape over the speaker and that helped a lot. The ABC song and the letter sounds song are the ones you will find on other Leap Frog toys and the Leap Frog videos. This is good if you want reinforcement...which my daughter needs.

The magnets are nice and strong. If they come off the fridge, they aren't too bad to step on either :-o! ...unlike the "traditional" letter/number magnets.

The toy is very multisensory kinesthetic, auditory, visual (color/letter), and tactile. Kudos to Leap Frog for another great educational toy!

My 6 year-old also likes to help his sister with this toy. He loves to arrange the letters for her and quiz her. Then he likes to spell words and teach them to her. The vowels are red and the consonants are yellow or blue. So I ask my daughter to find letters based on certain colors to increase the educational value. Unfortunately, her name has two l's and two e's, so we can't spell her name with the letters.

This is a GREAT toy. My daughter is 23 months and loves playing with this toy. It's great that it's in the kitchen too so I can cook or clean while she plays. She has pulled it off the fridge and banged it a few times and it still works great. I love that she is learning the alphabet so early. She now recognizes letters and points them out to me. We had foam letters for the tub too, but this is the best and most fun. We love Leap Frog!

This is an amazing product. My mother purchased it for my 1 year old at Christmas, and even though she doesn't understand it yet on an educational level, it works on her motor skills because she has to pick the letters off of the fridge and put them correctly in the spot for them. She then gets the reward of listening to it sing to her. My four year old daughter will sit in front of the refrigerator for what seems like forever and just arrange the letters in order while she sings the alphabet song along with the toy. My oldest daughter who is six will sometimes even go to the magnets when she is stuck on a reading word and I tell her to sound it out. Lastly, every child that comes to our house is drawn to the magnets. They all love it, and so do I !

I thought that my child would be able to place a letter in the special gadget that comes with this product and quickly hear the sound the letter makes. I thought that we could quickly place three letters in the gadget in a row, and hear their sounds, rapid fire. For example, I thought you could place the letters D, O, and G on the fridge and quickly get to hear all of the sounds in the word dog. I based my assumption on the fact that some of Leap Frog's products allow you to hear the letter sounds without being distracted by songs that tell about the letter names. (The Leap Frog caterpillar toy called Alphabet Pal allows you to do this.)

When you place a letter in this gadget, though, the gadget sings an entire song from The Talking Letter Factory movie by Leap Frog: "The A says Aaah, the A says Aaah, every letter makes a sound, the A says Aaah." The song is informative, but it's lengthiness gets in the way of showing a child that letter sounds can be glued together to make words. In order to show your child that D,O, and G make the word DOG, you have to listen to the D song and then the whole O song and then the whole G song.

I would only recommend this product to a child who does not know his letter sounds at all not to a child who is ready to put letter sounds together to make words. My one year old son was a more appropriate user of this product than my three year old.

I would not recommend this product to a parent or teacher who wants to avoid teaching letter names until letter sounds are mastered.

I bought one for my Kindergarten class and one for my 11month oldit is a big hit with both groups. What a great way to make the fridge letters more fun! The letter sounds are very clear! It is great!

We bought this for our 4 1/2-year old son and we live in MA. There is one button (unlabeled) for CT/MA/RI/NH/VT. At least Maine got its own button. Ridiculous. How am I supposed to educate my son about where we live when every time he asks "Where's this?" for New England locations, I have to point to the same button???

Also, the white letters on each state are applied cheaply. California was already peeling off when we pulled it out of the box.

I bought the Britannica Talking USA Puzzle for my 8 year old nephew and he loves it! The colors are bright and the "talking" part is fantastic. It names the state, the state capital and the state motto for all 50 states. It also sings America the Beautiful and says the Pledge of Allegiance. It's a great gift and comes with a free subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica Online for Kids. It's well worth the $.

This product is great for everyone, not just our kids. Even my hubby and I have remembered some state capitals we'd forgotten. (It's been a long time since we were in 4th grade geography!) The fact that it's a puzzle really helps our kids learn the locations of each state. The manufacturer must have already fixed the mispronunciation that one reviewer had in theirs because the sound effects in ours are clear and correctly pronounced. This is really a cool toy to help our grade schoolers get a jump on their education, which if you ask me, is a wonderful perk in any toy! I love that all the pieces store in the drawer too.

We bought this for my 3 year old at christmas and he loves it!! It says the pledge of allegiance and sings america, the beautiful. He has almost memorized both! I love how when he puts the puzzle piece in, it says the state's name, nickname, capitol. My son is picking up the names fast and knows which state we live in. I thought maybe he would get bored with it, but I think the sound effects help keep him interested. I think this is a great gift if your child loves puzzles!

We love our map puzzle. I bought it for my first grade classroom and now my own toddlers are using it to learn the states. It has lasted for years, and is a great teaching tool. The only flaw I can see is that it has a handle, so kids want to pick it up like a suitcase to carry it. But, then all of the puzzle pieces fall out!
