Best Early Years Rocket Baby Activity Set Deals
I bought this for my daughter (11 mo.) because she really enjoys the Melissa & Doug-type fill and spill toys. She's at an age where she LOVES unpacking things (my purse, her diaper bag, my husband's gym bag), so I was hoping to give her another, more age-appropriate alternative. This toy captured her attention right away. The flying saucer and shooting star rattle when shaken, the moon crinkles, the alien is a bean bag, and the puppy barks, so there are lots of things to do and explore. My daughter smiles every time the puppy barks, and she seems particularly fond of the moon and the star.
We have already found lots of ways to play with this toy. She is very interested in learning the names of objects right now, and this toy is great for that. She'll point at one of the pieces, we'll name it ("star"), she'll move on to the next one ("puppy"), and so on. She also likes to practice "sharing" by giving me one of the pieces and waiting for me to to hand it back. And, of course, the pieces are fun for throwing, shaking, and chewing. So far, we've gotten a lot of play out of it.
The only drawback is that it's tough for her little hands to pull some of the pieces out. If you stuff everything into the rocket, she can get the objects at the top without much trouble, but she can't pull them from all the way down in the bottom. The manufacturer's suggested age for this toy is 12+ months, so she may just be a bit young for it. In the mean time, we help her get the toys from the bottom of the rocket, or we put them in a larger container for her. Overall, she enjoys this toy quite a bit.
As other parents have said, the baby loves this toy set. My baby loves crinkles, and so the moon is great. The rattle star is also a great shape and size for his little hands to pick up. He loves the alien, even though it is the only small toy that does not make noise. It has plastic pellets in it, so it makes a very soft noise, but there isn't much room for the beads to shake. I think he loves the different, neon yellow-green color.

This is an awesome product. Includes 5 little space-theme toys that all fit inside the rocketship, and there's even a window so the "astronaut" can peek out. Every piece does something (rattle, crinkle, etc.) so it all holds my 1 year old's attention. He loves taking all the things out and putting them back in. Plus there is a decent mirror on the bottom of the rocketship too, plus a ring on top if you wanted to sttach it to a car seat, stroller, etc. Couldn't find anything like this in the toy store but very glad I found it here.Best Deals for Early Years Rocket Baby Activity Set
My 7 month old loves these toys. The small toys are a great size for him to grasp with his little hands. However, he is at the age where everything goes into his mouth. I didn't see the recommended age for this toy in the description, and not until after I got the package did I find the age recommendation of 12 months in another review. The spaceship is about 4 inches wide at the base, 8 inches across with the wings, and 10 inches tall. The toys that go inside are about 2 inches tall. The star, small spaceship, and moon are about 2 inches across, and the dog and alien are almost 3 inches tall and maybe one inch across at the torso. While the toys would be hopefully easy to pull out if the baby started choking, the dog and alien especially may be worrisome. I think I keep the smaller toys for closely supervised play only.As other parents have said, the baby loves this toy set. My baby loves crinkles, and so the moon is great. I bought this set for my niece on her 1st birthday, and it was an instant hit. Each toy has a different texture so she loves to grab them all. The only downfall is that the toys are a tight squeeze into the rocket... I'd like it better if she could put them in/take them out on her own. Still a great buy, though.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Early Years Rocket Baby Activity Set
My son is 8 months and likes playing with his truck more then this rocket ship.Well he actually shows no interest in it yet. I think I play with it more. I love the dog that barks and it is so soft. Overall I am very happy with it. It is well made.Saturday, November 29, 2014
Discount EasyDaysies Magnetic Schedule for Kids
The magnets are not strong enough for use on a kitchen appliance. We like the graphics and layout but would have liked the convenience of using it on the refrigerator.
I have the add on sets and it really helps my oldest remember his chores (he knows that he must feed the dog before he gets his afternoon snack) and it is helping my youngest with potty training (so thankful i am no longer using the velcro schedule for that, we're taking him every 30 minutes to the potty)
We love this product!

I love this magnetic picture schedule. I have two boys on the spectrum and i use this and the other add on sheets for both of them. It helps them know what is going on throughout the day and helps them transition from one activity to another. I like it better than the other ones i have tried (the laminated paper ones wear out and get lost, the magnetic one i had from Melissa and Doug was more of a reward chart for good behavior and chores)I have the add on sets and it really helps my oldest remember his chores (he knows that he must feed the dog before he gets his afternoon snack) and it is helping my youngest with potty training (so thankful i am no longer using the velcro schedule for that, we're taking him every 30 minutes to the potty)

I really liked this schedule for a fun way to not overwhelm children and yet get them to complete things on their schedule. It is a good quality product and I haven't had any issues with the magnets or wear and tear. I think everyone needs to follow a schedule so this was just perfect. I would say that the blank magnets are almost necessary so that it fits each different household. I don't think this toy is meant to be 'fun' like a toy fun so I rated it a 3. I think that it is fun for a learning tool but those are two different types of fun.Wednesday, November 26, 2014
Hape Pyramid of Play Review
I got so sick of cardboard nesting blocks not being able to stand up to what my sons can dish out. I searched for wooden nesting blocks and these popped up. The boys LOVE themespecially my one year old. Simpler than a multi-shape sorter, he can easily put the shape in it's box, then pick the box up and **peek-a-boo** there is his block. He can play this game forever! My older son is 3.5 and he loves to see the numbers, letters and color words. These can withstand his stacking and crashing time and again. These also present an opportunity for the kids to play together.
One small feature that shows how Educo pays attention to detail is the little "lip" on the top (or bottom, depending) of each block. This allows sturdier stacking as they nest in or on top of eachother. This is nice for a 1 year old just learning to build. Once he stacks, it stays giving him an opportunity to celebrate as his tower grows higher!
These are the favorite of the nesting/sorting toys in our house!
From the minute we pulled these out, our 11 month old was thrilled, and played with them longer than any new toy we've given her so far. The blocks are made of real wood, and stack nicely within or on top of each other. The tall lip allows for them to be very stable when stacked, and the shape blocks can only go through the shape that fits them, and they fit easily.
Everything is color coded, and there are subtle but well themed choices as far as the sides. For example, the food/animal sides all have things that start with the letter of their block (A -> Apple, B -> Butterfly, etc.). They have the number on one side, and on the shape slot they also have the shape and number corresponding. The colors are vibrant and everything is durable. It is a very well thought out toy, and a lot of coordination seems to have been put into each block.
As for durability, I'm more worried about my floor than these things falling apart. My daughter didn't really throw things before we bought these, but she seems to delight in flinging these blocks around, and she can really get them moving. Most of the time, she sends them horizontal, but occasionally straight up and down. They've hit pretty hard and I can't seem to find any damage to them (or my laminate floor... yet). But despite being durable, they are very light weight, so she can easily move them all over the place.
I can't say enough how pleased we are with these blocks, and I wish more toys these days were made with this level of quality.
We like that they nest and have a lip for secure stacking...great quality and graphics. Just wish we had another set...

We chose these blocks over many others because they are real wood, and have a variety of educational benefits to them. We had a hard time finding a good set, because most of the other sets seem to be made of cardboard or balsa wood, but not these. After growing up with good solid toys, we've had a hard time finding similar quality now. This is a perfect size, colorful, well made, and is very entertaining. The boxes have a raised edge so the cubes don't fall off while stacking.Honest reviews on Hape Pyramid of Play
I purchased this for my 14 month old daughter. She loves it. However, the shapes do not pass the "toilet paper" roll test, in which you try to pass the toy (or in this case, the shape) through the center of a toilet paper roll. If it fits, it is not safe because the toy can become lodged in a child's throat. I'm not sure why this product says it is safe for 18+ months when the shapes are clearly unsafe. I'm really disappointed because this was my child's major toy for Christmas and she can't even properly play with it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Hape Pyramid of Play
Yes...we only have one set! The boys got this for Christmas at 21 months old and have played with it everyday since! The shape sorter is ineffective at this point and the pieces end up behind the couch or get launched at someones head...those are reserved for more "directed play". I don't know what is so amazing about them but they entertain the boys...and that's all that matters. We like that they nest and have a lip for secure stacking...great quality and graphics. Just wish we had another set...

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Little Super Star Classical Stacker Reviews
I bought this one before my baby was born and he was just enthralled with it from day one. Whenever I pushed down on the star and the thing lit up, he just was mesmerized by it. Then, he decided that, being the engineer that he is, he'd rather play with it without the stars on it so he can see how it works. He just loves that! It's just so very pretty when it lights up and it also teaches coordination. He still plays with it and he's now three. Definitely a fanstastic purchase, one that can withstand having food dumped on it, being tossed onto the floor numerous times, you name it and it is still just like new.

This is my son's favorite toy, and for eleven bucks that's quite a deal. He literally can play with this toy for hours if given the opportunity. He's learned to press the button on the top that plays the music, and as soon as he does, he looks at everyone in the room and gives them a "look how smart I am" smile. It's hilarious! He's just now learning (at 12 months) how to put the stars back on the base. He couldn't do this a couple of months ago; he could only get them off, so it has grown with him. I put scotch tape over the speaker because there is no volume control and it can be quite loud. The tape still lets the tunes be heard, but now I don't have to talk over it! My mother is a daycare provider and she also has this toy, and her children love it, too; they even fought over it until she bought another one. That means I know of at least three children who can't get enough of this toy. It's worth its weight in gold!Best Deals for Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Little Super Star Classical Stacker
We bought this toy for our baby's first Christmas, and he is over 2 now, and still loves it. He likes to take the stars off, and play the music. We call it his music stick, which he carries allllll over the house spinning to the music until he falls. The lights just make it even better to him. A great toy, not too expensive toy.Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Little Super Star Classical Stacker
My son especially liked playing the tunes by pushing the top button on the stacker, and I liked the toy too--until it suddenly died. He hadn't been rough with it or anything, and we tried changing the batteries and everything, to no avail.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Little Super Star Classical Stacker
Our 11 month old has been playing with this toy since he was 6 months old. He really likes the lights, sounds and music. However, I was disappointed that the stacker is shaped like a cylinder so you can put the stars on in any order you choose. So it does not teach children that the big star goes on the bottom and get smaller as you go up. Also, the star that goes on top is cute, but it almost never gets used in conjuction with the stacker. It didn't take long for our baby to figure out that you just have to press the button on the top to get the music to play.Saturday, November 8, 2014
Review of Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Tracking Lights Musical Gym
I received this as a shower gift and I am not sure if I would have purchased this off the shelf, just by its looks. After I put it together I thought it was too small and wasn't going to last past my son's 4th month, but my son is now 7 months and still finds it entertaining enough that it still remains one of his favorite toys. The bright, colorful, dangling toys are low enough very young babies to reach up and hit and remain engaged for a good amount of time. The tunes are not annoying either. As my son started to reach and grab, he would bat all the toys around and then try group them together triggering the tunes and lights. And now that my son is rolling over and creeping, he will roll off the mat, but finds his way back to play with it and the elephant and lion on the legs he just discovered. I am so happy with this toy because seeing and hearing my son's excitement when he plays with this is priceless!

I Just Bought mine from a lady on a Garage Sale site, my 7 Month Old was trying to Climb it! I didn't buy it for him, I had bought it for the new baby which is Due in December. We had been given The Fisher-Price Cow Baby Gym, and pieces were missing off of it, and my baby which is now 7 months was scared of the Cow at 1 month Old. It was time for a new one. So, I waited and watched the Garage Sale sites. I am so happy with it! :-)Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Tracking Lights Musical Gym

I was trying to replace an item we had for my oldest, but this still wasn't quite it. This is very cute, and once my baby can pull the frog, it will be great. I just wish there were a way to turn the movement and/or music on all the time for when the baby is young. Otherwise, she just looks at it and we pull the frog for her. It should have music, at least, that you can turn on.Wednesday, October 15, 2014

I use stripboard for my electronics projects. I've been buying from an overseas source. The selection was small with only two small sizes available. The 4x10 size allows me to cut a board that's just the right size for my project. On top of this the price was better on a in^2 basis and the delivery was quick.

Best Blue Ocean Relief MOVA World Globe Deals
I looked into the levitating globes and chose this instead. It doesn't levitate, but its slow rotation, without batteries, is soothing and fascinating. It just keeps spinning with no intervention...just like the real Earth! It is too small to use as a reference globe, but it is a fine size for a desk ornament. It takes some thinking to figure out how it could possibly work, thus it makes a good conversation piece.
I liked mine so much that I ordered one as a Christmas gift for a tech-savvy friend. He appreciated his as much as I did mine.
This video shows the MOVA 4.5" globe I've just received. I've placed a CD in a case just behind and beside the globe for a sense of scale (it's slightly larger than I imagined it would be).
I first placed the globe about two feet from a desk lamp with a CFL bulb. The globe would move about a quarter of a turn, then stop and move back an inch or two, and then start turning again. The manual that came with the globe indicates that flourescent lighting is not optimal for powering the globe. Luckily I get some indirect sunlight from a window across the hall, which seems to work like a charm.
I'd read another review mentioning the seam where the two halves of the globe's outer shell are joined. It's a relatively subtle seam, and it is straight and regular around the circumference, so placing the seam at the equator effectively hides it from view.
The manual also mentions a sealed hole where the fluid is introduced, and that this should be at the bottom of the globe. I was not able to find this irregularity.
Granted, I've only had this globe for 30 minutes or so, but my concern about the expendature is gone. If the globe continues to function as it does now, I'll be completely happy with this purchase.

This was a present to our family from some girls that stayed at our house for a week. I love love love it. Our sits by the window and smoothly rotates from the light. I was amazed when I first saw one of these a year ago. The clear outer shell was invisible making it look like it was floating in air. I bought one for a gift and I can plainly see the seam between the two halves of the outer shell. If I line the seam up with the equator it is less noticeable. Without the seam this would definitely get five stars.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Blue Ocean Relief MOVA World Globe
I have had this globe for about 6 months now and I really like it. It doesn't levitate, but it rotates inside of a plastic sphere when exposed to light. Mine seems to rotate at a really good speed even in relatively dim light from the window, although at night it spins very slowly because the light bulb in the room is really low. So far I have had no problems with it at all.Friday, September 19, 2014

Got this for my 2 year old for Christmas, and she loves it. We don't really play the bingo game, but match the cards to the board and she is enthralled. We bought this game after playing farm bingo, and my son loves it! He just turned five, and it is really easy for him since the recommended age is 3+. It is still great for practicing turn taking, staying focused, and expanding vocabulary.
