Cheap Brilliant Minds Montessori Bead Stair
I got this as a gift. When the LO brought it over to my house to play with it, 2 square counting pieces and 2 dangling beads were missing. Pieces are easily lost :(

Reviews of PLAYFUL PATTERNS DESIGN ACTIVITY - Discovery Toys
Our two daughters 2 and 4 enjoy playing with these shapes and making designs and patterns. It shows them basic math concepts through play. you have 1/4 squares which two become half then two halves equal one big square....etc...We have lots of fun with them. Of course we supervise our 2 yr old with the foam pieces. It is too bad that this is becoming a hard to find toy. Discovery toys hopefully is not discontinuing this product. It is a great learning game.

I looked around at several pattern blocks. I decided to spend the extra money on this set per another reviewer's recommendation. The foam is nice because it prevents the blocks from moving around too much. There are also varying levels of cards. I bought this for my 2.5 year old sun and the beginner cards that show you where to put the shapes are perfect for his skill level. It was worth the extra money as this pattern block set will grow with my son.Best Deals for PLAYFUL PATTERNS DESIGN ACTIVITY - Discovery Toys
Five stars for the idea, but four for the design. The foam pieces are very light and can be moved/misplaced easily with little fingers while she is putting a pattern together. A bit frustrating trying to fix the pattern almost every time you put a new piece on it.Honest reviews on PLAYFUL PATTERNS DESIGN ACTIVITY - Discovery Toys
I found out about this toy at an event our family attended. Another family brought this for their kids and my 3 year-old son spent the whole day playing with their kids and this set. It has cards with pictures on it broken down into shapes. The kids place the foam shapes over the card in the right places to create the picture. The best part: it has my son looking at shapes everywhere! Suddenly he's telling me that the light is a circle and the TV is a rectangle and the picture is a square... And the addition cards that come with the set are so great. After about 10 minutes of playing with them, he announced to me: "mommy, 2 semi-circles make a circle! And 2 triangles make a square!" This set is well worth the money and is getting tons of use in our house. I highly recommend!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for PLAYFUL PATTERNS DESIGN ACTIVITY - Discovery Toys
I bought this at a thrift shop for my first grade class. I took it home one day and my 2 and a half year old found it and asked to play with it. My 2 and a half year old and 21 month old son can both play with this toy. They can identify the shapes (my 2 year old can recognize a parallelogram!), and place the shapes in the correct spaces. I love the way the cards build up the skills for the child. My sons especially love the beginning cards which sort the foam pieces by shape and then teach how to combine different shapes to make new shapes. IT teaches such wonderful math and spacial skills. I only wish I had a complete set, but since I bought it used, we're missing some of the cards. I'm currently watching my 21 month old make a train with the pattern blocks. I definitely recommend this toy!Wednesday, November 5, 2014

My son .. who is what I loving refer to as a vidiot (addicted to video games) will not put this game down. He has forsaken his DS and the Xbox for his L-max. He has had it for about 3 weeks now and the new has not worn off. Letters on the Loose is absolutely WONDERFUL for teaching the alphabet .. writing (upper and lowercase) and sounds.
I would advise every parent to purchase this for the sake of a child's education. It's a great tool disguised as a toy. KUDOS!!

This toy was great when my kids were little (ages 2-7) and it kept them busy with their own electronic toy while I played on mine. A great educational toy that seems to be indestructible and is simple for kids to use. I wouldn't hesitate to get this although the price is high. It comes with some games loaded, plus you can buy used game cartridges to save money.Honest reviews on Leapster L-max Handheld Learning Game System -Blue

After purchasing what I thought was a new Leapster Game System for my grandaughter, I found out it was really used. Also, the system does not work. Now, all I get is the runaround from Amazon. I will no longer do business with Amazon.Estes Firestreak SST Rocket Bulk Pack (Pack of 24) Reviews

Reviews of Wonderworld Peek A Boo Roller
my kids love it! bought it for my sons 1st birthday. keep in mind it will be loud on wood floors.
Two potential drawbacks: it is noisy on non-carpeted floors, and it is wood, so if your kid likes to swing things around...watch out! I am more than willing to work around those drawbacks though and will be back to purchase another one of these once my baby learns how to walk!

I bought this for a little girl's first birthdaymy 3 yr old saw it and played with it for days leading up to the party. I was surprised she would like it bc it is a "baby" toy. She loved watching the little faces pop in and out. Sometimes she was "vacuuming", other times she was "mowing"... great for imagination! The toy is simple, but that is why it was so perfect! Two potential drawbacks: it is noisy on non-carpeted floors, and it is wood, so if your kid likes to swing things around...watch out! Reviews of I'M Toys 22050 Melody Mix
My 14 month old son is completely enamored of this delightful wooden music play station (with supervision of course as there are some small parts). He loves the chimes and triangle. The rattle, chime, and hand-held castinets are chunky -just right for small hands, and quite aesthetically pleasing. The drumsticks and "scraper" are nice and sturdy.
The bells are less than satisfying, especially compared with the "real" percussion sleighbells I bought at our local music shop for $7.
But what prompted me to write a review is this -I was appalled to find that the "xylophone" does NOT play a typical musical scale. In fact, the longest red key at the end is a higher pitch than its neighbor, the orange key (second in from end). And the yellow and green keys on my model are the exact same note. I'm disappointed because the xylophone *looks* real, but it's not musically accurate. Maybe my set was just mis-assembled (and mis-painted?). I haven't contacted the company about it because we already have a great metal rainbow xylophone (again from a "real" music store for $12.95).
Overall, this is lots of fun, with enough instruments for toddler and friends to all enjoy together. Just beware the tuneless xylophone!

This is a great musical toy. We've had it for 2 years and my 3 boys (5,3, and 1) love playing with it. It's fun to watch them all play together and to sing and dance along to their music. The quality is great for it's intended purpose but if your kids use it as a hammer or sword instead of an instrument, it may break! We like it so much that we're ordering this as a Christmas gift for my neices/nephews!Best Deals for I'M Toys 22050 Melody Mix
These musical instruments are well-made, well-designed, and well-received by my 3 toddler and pre-school grandchildren. They combine both the concept of a puzzle (each instrument has its "place" in the toy's holder design), and musical instruments providing children the opportunity to "make music" and learn the names and sounds of various instruments. Further, the vendor for Amazon that distributes this toy has the best customer service I have encountered in a long time. Bad weather delayed the delivery of this toy for Christmas. The distributor communicated directly with me by email re: tracking the package, and followed through until the item was finally delivered by UPS.Honest reviews on I'M Toys 22050 Melody Mix
We got this for our 9 mo daughter and she LOVES it. She is 11 mos today and still loves playing with all the different items! She plays with this toy everyday. Its fun to see her make music and get excited when we play along with her. It is a bit pricy but it seems to be well made!Sunday, September 28, 2014

Discount Uncle Milton Nat Geo Dino Xcavator
Bought this for a 10 year old aspiring Paleontologist. She LOVES it. It's like Operation but with dinosaur bones. It's definitely the favorite thing she got for Christmas this year. It is maybe a little young for her since she knows all the answers to the questions on the cards already but she really enjoys the pulling the bones out part. Definitely recommend for any kid that has a real interest in dinosaurs.
She will also play the game individually. We do not use the cards that came with the game as my daughter would rather just "maniacally" go at the dinosaur
The pieces are small and easily lost so it is important to bag them up immediately after the game is over. I still gave the toy a 4 because my daughter loves to purposely make the dinosaur roar and likes to play with the pieces even without the game (a big mistake on my part because i think we are now missing pieces). .

My 5 yr. old granddaughter really likes the dinosaur world and this really got her attention she played it constantly.Best Deals for Uncle Milton Nat Geo Dino Xcavator
My 4 yr. old loves this game. However, her dexterity is not quite developed enough to use the tweezers to get all the pieces out. After awhile, she gets a little tired of trying (even when on a "successful run") and then resorts to pulling the pieces out with her hands. There is one piece on the board that is so hard that my husband and I have an extremely difficult time getting it out. It does create an opportunity for lot of laughter. She will also play the game individually. Cheap See & Learn Piano
My son got this for Christmas 2002 when he was 6 months old. He is almost 18 months and he loves it more and more. He likes to push the buttons, smile in the mirror, and listen to the music. It is VERY durable. My son is a "thrower" and loves to toss his toys all around the house. It also isn't a battery-eater. With some toys, you are constantly changing the batteries, however this toy is the opposite. It's a great value and a great toy.
There are three different learning modes (colors and shapes, songs, and free play). There are also four different instruments to choose from (banjo, flute, sax and piano). Each instrument plays several different songs which are selected by pressing the instrument buttons surrounding the mirror. The mirror has four flashing red light bars around it that light up when the keys are pressed.
The only complaint I have with this toy is the volume. As with some other Leap Frog toys we own, the sound is too loud on the lowest setting. The speaker is on the upper left side and I find it easy to hold my palm over it to lower the volume when I am helping play with the toy, but I am considering putting some tape over the speaker for times that my palm is not available.
There are basically four areas of interest on this piano. There's the piano sound, banjo, woodwind sound, and saxophone sound. Then when you push each little circle with the picture of the instrument, you get a variety of different songs. For example, the banjo sound plays the tune, among others, of "Oh Susanna," and the piano sounds gives a really neat instrumental version of a ragtime piece.
If for some reason you just push the button, the music will play for several seconds, and then the little voice will come on and say "Press any key to play the song," and then you can continue the music up to the end by continuing to hit the keys. It looks as if you're really playing the piano, too.
Our girls have loved this, and its importance is in teaching not only the variety of music, but the different kinds of instruments, and the fun of interacting physically with the sounds, among other things.
This product is really great!! And highly recommended!!

We bought this toy for our 5-month-old son to encourage him to spend more time on his tummy. Joseph loves music and mirrors, and this combines both and much more! If he's playing on the floor and sees (or hears) this nearby, he rolls over to it almost immediately. The wide variety of instruments and songs is great to keep from driving a parent crazy, and Joseph is learning to touch the keys to keep the song going. Although this toy turns off rather quickly, a child can easily start it up again by touching any of the buttons. I wish it switched songs more easily, but Joseph doesn't mind the help from Mom or Dad! I took this toy on a visit to my sister's, and her almost 4-year-old son had a great time playing with the toy and "showing" Joseph how to use it. His one-year-old sister liked the music and lights, too. We haven't had a problem with the paint on the handle chipping yet, but we haven't had this very long, either. All in all, we highly recommend this as a great learning toy and entertainment for kids of all ages!!Best Deals for See & Learn Piano
I bought this toy for my 1 yr. old grand-daughter and she just loves it. It is portable enough for her to carry room to room and durable enough to be dropped lots of times on the journey. It has music, which she can keep playing by simply touching a key, and it will automatically turn off if it is not being played with. It also teaches colors and shapes, as well. I am sure that she will play with this for a long time to come. Great buy!!Honest reviews on See & Learn Piano

This is a fine educational model for kids interested in learning more about the human skull. The skull model is very simplified, of course, but adequate for most children. I teach anatomy at the college level and this model would be far too simple for that purposebut for elementary and middle school kids, it's perfect. It's easy enough to quickly assemble within 5-10 minutes, can be taken apart and re-assembled readily. It helps kids understand the basic anatomy of the skull: hemispheres of the brain, cranial sutures, how the brain fits inside inside the cranium. The jaws can be opened and closed via the rubber band attachment and the eyes really insert into the eye sockets (and glow in the dark, which is a nice touch for the kids.) The accompanying book includes more detailed information, as well as several hands-on experiments relating to brain function.
If you want a large, detailed skull model for learning all of the cranial bones and muscles, this is clearly not the model for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for an inexpensive, fun model to introduce some basics of skull anatomy to a child, this is a nice purchase.
When an adult tried to assemble it, however, a small piece snapped off and made it impossible to use.

I love these bells, but like many of you I thought I was getting 4 not 1. It was my fault for not reading the description more carefully, and I also didn't read the reviews because my son uses these bells in music class, so I already knew I liked them. When only one arrived I was so sad. I thought that for only getting one set of bells the price was rather high. I ended buying more from my son's music teacher, and they were less than half of what I paid for them on Amazon. My son still loves them though!!Honest reviews on Hohner Kids Animal Jingle Bell, Assorted Colors and Shapes

We've played with bells similar to this at the library story time. My 11 month old LOVES these. They are easy to hold and make for some great shaking noise (that isn't completely annoying for Mom and Dad). I think these aren't rated for kids younger than three, so definitely make sure they are a supervised toy if purchased for an infant!
