I bought this for my 2-year old. I wanted a real drum not a toy, so I looked for the brand used in her Music Together class. This is a professional quality drum. Durable construction and great sound quality. Amazon had this on sale and the price could not be beat!

This toy is loud and durable. Toddlers will love it; parents might not. After all, after giving the gift, grandparents can return to their own quiet domicile.

I bought these for my 22-month old daughter. I should have ordered these for her a long time ago, I think any baby 6 months or over would love these. They are VERY durable, heavy plastic. They are different colors with different designs on top and different shapes on the bottom. When my 22-month old got these, I thought she might be too old for them, but she loves them! She also likes to put other toys inside, etc. Toys R Us had no stackers and I had looked places, I think stackers in general are hard to find, I'm so glad I found these.

I bought these before my daughter was born and gave it to her when she was five month old. She start playing with them immediately and she is still playing with them (she is 10 month now). I stack them for her to take them apart, put small things in each one for her to take out. They also make perfect bath time toys your baby will be busy picking them up and sunk them in water. It is the cheapest thing I bought so far and she keeps having fun with them.

We bought these stacking cups to take to China for our adoption, because they are very compact when nested. Our new son , loves stacking them, and concentrates very hard on which ones fit together. The colors are great, and our kids can play with them in the tub. The only drawback is that there isn't any versatility. The cups stack in a particular order, and that is it. They are probably more educational than fun, since there are different geometric shapes on the bottoms of each cup, and different colored patterns on the rims.

Honest reviews on Tolo Toys Rainbow Stackers

I can't believe that my one year old can spend so much time playing with cups! He will stack them and nest them. You can hide things under them or use them in the tub. It is a pre math skill. They are easy to transport and very good quality. I great gift for a young toddler. My only complaint was that they were so hard to find. The only place I could find a good quality product was online.

Stacking cups are my boys favorite toys. We bought 2 types, this one and some with holes in them to let water drain out.

My complaint with both types is if you lose a cup, they become rather useless, because you need all of them in order to stack them. Must go in order. But that is true of both of our sets.

They are a quality plastic, and my boys LOVE them. They learn so much from them, and it is appropriate for a wide age range. They started really early (6 months I think?) putting one cup inside another cup, like the smallest one inside the biggest one, but now at 15 months they can stack 3 cups, then take it apart and nest them. They also put small toys in them, and again, this is something they start doing very early, but they are still great learning toys for toddlers as well.

The ones with holes are perhaps better bath toys though, because they can see the water drain out, but these are heavier, and more interesting with the different shaped bottoms and designs. Also there is something to be said for being able to pour the water out if used as a bath toy.

Get like 4 sets of stacking cups. There are some at Ikea for $2.50, so get 2 of those, then get some with holes in them, and get these. There is no better infant / early toddler toy then stacking/nesting cups.

This is a great idea. But, after awhile with just 4 books loaded on it, it will get boring. To bad there isn't a way to down load more stories. The story selection is great, the bus itself is durable. It does come with the books, thats nice. I bought this for my 5 year old, he enjoys it. It's great for quiet time.

We found this item at a warehouse store for a great value and my 4/5 year old loves it so much. Yes, there are "only" 4 stories on it, but how great is it that she can take the small but powerful school bus speaker and listen to the book of her choice? The unit is plenty small for little hands. There is a pause function but beware if paused too long, the story will go back to the beginning and you will have to start all over. We love the voices, music and sound effects. Moms can only do so much at story time the added music and soft spoken tones during the quieter stories are perfect. Well done. We are searching for more of these.

Great value. Four charming books that are great reads for litte ones. The adorable audio player keeps them entertained when you are unable to read to them my son brings it in the car and enjoys it.

I really like this toy. I bought it for my sons 1st birthday, but ended up giving it to him a few weeks early. My son started playing with it as soon as we gave it to him. I wasn't sure if I should buy it or not because there were no reviews. But, I went with it. At first I thought it was a little small. I don't know what I was expecting, and I didn't look at the dimensions. But after having it for a while, it is the perfect size. My son can sit with it on the floor, or stand and play at a table. Its perfect! He really enjoys putting the balls in and watching them fall. I'll hear him playing while I'm off in another room.

The balls don't make much noise. In fact, my orange one doesn't make any noise. The others ones just sound like they have a tiny ball inside that can hardly move. But even with that, my son will still shake them. The toy on the back = pointless. They should have just put a funny picture or something. The balls roll down it, then roll off and do not stay on the track. Maybe the track isn't deep enough. or maybe my house is slanted, either way my balls do not stay on it. But who cares, the front is too much fun to play with the back anyway.

Even with those two things, I would buy this toy for everyone I know, and plan to buy it for my nephew. I've caught Dad playing with it, and I too play with it. It's fun to make your own rhythm with hitting the balls down: all at once, a second in between, once they hit a certain slide silly I know, but fun.

Plus, the toy seems sturdy. I'm very pleased with how it is made, and it is bright and colorful. The balls have some weight to them, which I like. I wouldn't have wanted a flimsy light ball. The toy can teach color matching by putting the balls into their colored hole. It also teaches cause and effect and coordination.

One more thing. It has a knob on the side that is for stopping the balls. For my son now, he doesn't understand how it is to be used. So, he'll turn it and it will stop the balls. I'll have to come fix it for him. This has happened once or twice, but not a big deal. After he understands it, I think it will be fun for him. He can let one ball go, then close it, and whatever else his imagination comes up with. That's just what I've done with it! :)

I bought the Tolo Ball Run for my daughter's first birthday. I am a big fan of the Tolo brand as they make quality toys that are durable. The ball run was a huge hit my 1-year old easily can put the balls in the holes, bang them down with her hand and watch them run. Over and over again :^) She loves it! Great toy. Easy for two kids to play with and take turns. The 3 balls have nice black and white patterns on one half, and colors on the other half. Later you can teach your child to match the ball color to the hole color.

Best Deals for Tolo Toys Roller Ball Run

My daughter is only 9.5 months and she loves this. She can put the ball in the top (not everytime, but maybe 30% of the time and getting better) and hits it a few times to drop it down to the track. She loves the clacking noise it makes (warning to parents it is NOT a quiet toy). I showed her how one day. The next day she put the balls up herself and the day after hit them through. She hasn't yet figured out the knob/switch on the side or what to do if there's another ball in the top preventing the balls from rolling down, so it will force some good problem solving skills. I really like that it's fun (visually and auditorily), helps with motor development and hand-eye-coordination, as well as problem solving skills. And she likes it because it is fun!

Edit: My daughter is now 16 months old and still likes this toy. She doesn't play with it as much, as she's had it a while, and has sort of figured out the knob on the side. When other kids come over (the oldest we've had is about 2 years), they've all had lots of fun with it and played for quite a while.

Honest reviews on Tolo Toys Roller Ball Run

I bought this for my 10 month old son and he got the hang of it the first try, after I showed him how. He loves to hit the balls in the holes. I don't like the stop button on the side. There is no purpose for it and it easily moves and locks the balls in place so they can't roll down the slides. When he is older that may not be a big deal, but this young he doesn't know how to turn it back so he gets frustrated with it. I just duck taped the sucker in place to where it won't move.:) Besides that, it is a great toy!!! The balls are cool and he will just play with those by themselves. I also babysit an 18 mo old and 4 yr old and they both play with it too! So great for all young ages!!! It is actually quite small, but I like that 'cause it's not in the way and can be taken places when you travel. Would recommend for sure!

I was right when I thought this would be a hit. There is just something fun about watching the balls in motion. The kids match the colors of the balls with the opening on their own. They don't seem to want it any other way. Funny.

LeapFrog Easy Reader Phonics Kit 1
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

While my son enjoyed the illustrations anf fun content of the books in this set, I felt it was disappointing as a learning tool for beginning readers because it moves much too quickly. The first book is just letters and letter sounds. Very introductory. The second book introduces three letter words right off with no transition at all like 2 letter blends. That was ok to me since it was phonetic 3 letter words, but by page 2 we were already "leaping" to 4 and 5 letter words and by page 3 they were already introducing a sight word "does" and a double consonant word "cannot". I thought the pace was frustrating for my son. I was hoping/expecting a book devoted to just blends and/or 3 letter words. Instead this program is organized by vowels with the letter a being introduced first. I don't see that as a problem, but I was expecting more phonetic 3 letter words to start and introducing harder 4 and 5 letter words by maybe book 3 and sight words coming later, like maybe book 4. Unfortunately, you can't see exactly what your getting until you open the box.

Nonetheless, the audio is entertaining for children with music and humor thrown in and the reward stickers, poster, and ribbon are a fun way to recognize your child's achievement. The practice game is basically just like the Word Whammer Fridge Phonics product but with cards instead of magnets.

My five year old is in Kindergarten this year, and I have gotten very frustrated because I just don't know how to teach him anything! I am an internal learner, and mostly learned how to read from watching Sesame Street as a child. So, I was pretty desperate for some help. I purchased the whole "Learn to Read" Kit, which includes Phonics kits 1-3, plus the Read & Write Leappad. We've just started the first kit, and my son is extremely excited about the sticker chart, and he really wants to earn the ribbon that they provide. It says "I Can Read". I agree with the review that states it is very fast moving. I was hoping for a bit more in the connecting sounds to create words area. My son has listening issues and has a learning delay and he's responding very well, but it's also very frustrating for him. The main issues that I'm having with this is how difficult it is to decipher the sounds at times from the little electronic speaker. It's difficult to tell the difference between "f" and "s" for example. The other big issue is that when playing a game where my son was supposed to listen to the letter sounds and figure out what word they were spelling, it kept saying everything started with "C"! It was confusing for him. It would clearly say "errr" "aaa" "ttt" (Rat) and then say it began with "C" or "sss" "lll" "aaa" "mmm" (Slam) and then say it began with "C"! he kept hitting "Cat" and then it would tell him he was wrong. He wouldn't believe *Me* that the machine was wrong, because they never lie *headdesk* However, for its purpose of giving ME the tools to better teach my child, it deserves four stars.

Best Deals for LeapFrog Easy Reader Phonics Kit 1

I bought this also along with kit 2 and kit 3.. while they do move a bit quickly, these books, kits, are suppose to help give the child an idea of what "they" are and how the sound. These books and kits are MEANT to be used with a REAL person, and to reinforce what they are being taught, they are NOT meant to teach the child every thing there is to learn! A teacher or parent should be teaching these things in full to begin with and the books and kits to be used as a tool, or as a back up to help the child as a reniforcement. If you use them correctly they are a wonderful tool for any child! Ho and if you buy one kit you really should buy all three of them because the three together are a wonderfull addition to school work, practice, learing, reniforcement of what is being taught.

Sarah

Honest reviews on LeapFrog Easy Reader Phonics Kit 1

My children love their leappads and I love the fact that they are continuing to expose themselves to reading even when I'm not supervising them. These phonics kits contain cute stories that help reinforce the concepts that I try to introduce. I don't believe that this kit will teach them phonics on it's own but I love them anyways. As with all leappad books, I wish they were a little sturdier as the pages can get caught on the pen when littles are turning them, causing rips and tears.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My daughter received the original Mobigo when it first came out-when she was three years old. She loved it almost obsessively. It was terrific for car rides and times when Mommy needed time to take a shower! After two years, it still works perfectly and still holds her interest, though she had begun favoring "apps" on my iPhone and tablet. When I was offered the chance to test out the new version, I was thrilled.

From the moment I put it in her hand, I had to fight to get it back out. All the old games are compatible, and they also kindly let you download any of your previously downloaded games onto this one, too. Nice, Vtech.

THE NEW STUFF IN VERSION 2

-Motion Sensor

My daughter adores the preloaded "Hamster Highway" game, which is the one that highlights the new motion sensor. When you tilt the Mobigo left, right, back, or forward, you control the action of the hamster rolling around the race track in his hamster ball. It's one of the rare Mobigo games that isn't educational, but that's fine. I don't need there to be an educational lesson in everything she does... pure entertainment is good, too! Plus, it helps with motor skills.

-Microphone and Photo Storage

The other main new feature is the microphone, which is highlighted in the "Photos" feature. You can add your own photos, making this a great spot to keep some of your child's favorite photos, but to start, they preload it with eight generic kid-friendly photos: a dog, a hot air balloon, etc. When you press the star, it tells you to "blow into the microphone to see the special effects." Actually, you can make any sound into the microphone, and it'll do one of two funny things to the picture: "warp" it or add bubbles to it. Not much variety, but you get the idea of what the microphone could be capable of in other games.

-Stylus

If you have trouble with accuracy of the touch screen (it's great for most games), you can now use a stylus, which is easily stored in the back of the device

-Shape/Size

It's slightly larger overall than the original Mobigo. I worried that the old case wouldn't fit, but it does... barely. The touch screens themselves are the same size, and so are the control buttons.

-Fixed the Downloads Issue!

This is a great one-one of the few negatives about the original Mobigo was that it didn't save your downloaded games onto the device. Every time you turned off the device and turned it back on, any games you downloaded from the Vtech site would need to be re-downloaded, and I think you could do only three at a time. Now, awesomely, there's actual storage in the Mobigo. Sufficient storage. Once I downloaded the required software (not hard-took two tries to get my device to work with it, but was fine after that), it provided me with free access to every game I'd ever downloaded on the original Mobigo, plus gave me three credits for free games. I happily discovered that I could fit all of them on the Mobigo 2 and that they'd stay there until I wanted to erase them! As of now, I have 15 downloaded games on the device and it's less than half-full.

THE NEGATIVES

-The downloadable games are really short and simple-nothing exciting, and few are in the older children range.

-The "number keys" are really just the top letter keys, and the number placement is confusing. For instance, when you want to type the number 2, you're supposed to type the letter W. However, the number is situated right in the middle of the letters Q and W, so depending on your perspective, you might think you were supposed to type Q.

-These great new features don't yet have great new software to go with them... I'm sure Vtech will soon release software that takes advantage of the motion sensor and microphone, but in my search of Amazon and Vtech's sites, I don't yet see a single game that has these added features. Therefore, if you don't yet have a Mobigo at all, clearly you should get this new version-Vtech has even been kind enough to price it the same as they priced the original. However, if you have the original and want to know if it's worth it to upgrade, I'd wait until there were at least a couple of games available to support the new features, or else you're really spending the additional money just for the few built-in games and the photo viewer.

-Touch screen is very good, but not perfect. I got frustrated a few times when the device instructed me to "use the arrows" to do something, and then I did hit an arrow, and it repeated the same instruction twice more before I got it to recognize that I was already hitting the arrow. Still, doesn't happen often.

MY RECOMMENDATION

Even despite these drawbacks, I'm still considering this a 5-star product. We've had most of the major electronic devices for kids in the preschool-to-1st grade range, and this one has been our favorite. It's been reliable, can withstand drops, has a good line of worthwhile educational software (particularly for 3-5-year-olds) and rarely gets annoying to listen to for Mommy in the front seat. If you've never had a Mobigo, I highly recommend this one, and if you already have one, I *will* highly recommend it as soon as there are a couple of pieces of software that take advantage of the new features!

I am sad to say I am starting to sour on Vtech products. This past December I purchased two mobigos (the 1st version) for my 3 year old twin boys. By the end of January one of the mobigos sound did not work at all and by March both began freezing in the middle of games and scrambling the screens. Very frustrating for 3 year olds. This summer when I saw the Mobigo 2 coming out I decided to try them again mostly because I did not want to have to buy all new games if I switched to the competitive brand. I pre-ordered 2 of the mobigos 2 for both my boys and they arrived the beginning of July.

The mobigo 2 is def. a step up from the first and my boys LOVED all the changes especially the new "pen" with it. I also loved that all the downloaded games could go right on the device and didn't have to be loaded to the cartridge. So the toy itself is very entertaining and my boys love it. The only problem is this didn't last yet again.

It is not the beginning of September and we have had problems again. One of the mobigos began freezing again and a few days later while my son was routinely opening up to the keyboard the lever snapped causing the screen to tilt up so you cant see it while using the keyboard. You could hear the screw that is supposed to hold it rattling inside. But the unit still worked until a day later. Now today the whole unit will not even turn on. I have tried changing batteries several times and nothing. Same thing with screen freezing on both versions. A battery change will not work to fix the problem.

Also it is not due to poor care on our part which is what one might assume with 3 year old twin boys. We have cases for both and I take them out myself and make sure they are put back. I also supervise them while they are using them so this isn't a case of them being dropped or mishandled. The damages are caused by normal, routine use. For our house hold this is a max of 30 min a day.

Bottom line the product is great for AS LONG AS IT LASTS but in my experience that is not that long with either version. I hoped the Mobigo 2 would last longer but it did not.

Best Deals for VTech MobiGo 2 Touch Learning System - Orange

My son is 3.5 and still not potty trained. He's mentally ready for preschool but since he refuses to pee on a toilet, he can't go to school yet. I decided to home school him this year. One of the tools I'm using is the VTech MobiGo 2. Each morning I read a book to Little Man and then we do worksheets for a letter, number, tracing, coloring, cutting and pasting, etc. After we finish our paperwork he gets to spend 30 minutes playing on his MobiGo. I love that the games on MobiGo are educational. There's a shooting gallery game which uses the keyboard and in order to shoot the target you have to press the correct letter on the keyboard. The easy level pretty much follows the keyboard along the QWERTY keys so that the kids learn where to find them. The VTech MobiGo2 comes loaded with Hamster Highway, Shooting Gallery, Art Master and Photos. It also comes with 3 free downloads that you can choose any of their games that are available for download. I like that they don't limit you to a small number of games or books. Right now all downloadable games are $2.99 each. That's a steal! The have downloadable e-books coming soon, as well.

Not only is this a great tool to help reinforce my home school efforts, it gives Little Man something to do on the go when his big brother and sister are playing their DS's. The VTech MobiGo 2 retails for $59.99. Not bad for a game system and 5 games!

All of the kids have enjoyed the MobiGo, but Little Man uses it the most. The few downsides I've noticed are:

It is rechargeable, with rechargeable batteries if you supply them and buy the separate power cord. Otherwise you're using batteries like water.

You can only make one account on the system so if you have multiple kids you can only track the progress of one. The others can sign on as a guest.

There's no way to tether the stylus and with my children that's a disaster waiting to happen.

Overall we are very pleased with the VTech MobiGo 2 and would recommend it to anyone.I would suggest this as something for kids aged 3-7.

I have received VTech MobiGo 2 to facilitate my review.

Honest reviews on VTech MobiGo 2 Touch Learning System - Orange

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Vtech MobiGo 2 Touch Learning System, is a great gaming/learning system for young children. It's well built and durable to withstand even the most energetic of children. MobiGo 2 Touch comes with four different playable modes including the touchscreen, motion sensor, microphone for voice recognition & the Qwerty keyboard. As for game choices you can purchase the Mobigo cartridges for this system and you can download a ton of different learning applications from the VTech Learning Lodge. All of the Mobigo games range in age and difficulty mostly from ages 3-8. My 5yr old daughter loves her mobigo and plays it every chance she gets, and I don't mind because I know that while she may be playing video games, she's also learning to read, spell, write, math and more. I would definitely recommend the mobigo2 for anyone with young children!

For the most part we found the MobiGo2 to be a great gaming system for young children. Cheaper then many of the gaming systems out there and more appropriate for young hands. We love the design of the MobiGo2 and how easy it is to hold. The pop up screen with keyboard underneath is a big hit because it made my daughter feel like she had her own computer.

There are a few games included with the system and you have the option of downloading games or purchasing cartridges. I like having both of these options because downloading is instant if you need something quick, but the cartridges are nice so you don't run out of room on the MobiGo2. My daughter loved to browse the games on line but of course wanted them all.

I thought it is pretty cool to have different ways to use the system such as motion (like driving a car), touch screen (like an iPhone), and talking to characters. The screen is bright and of decent quality for the price. It comes with a installation disc so you can keep track of your downloads and progress.

This is where I took away a star. We were unable to get any progress log to load. I don't know if my daughter didn't play enough or it just isn't working I'm not given enough information to tell. I've revisited the manual, googled, looked on forums and gave up. I can't figure out how to see my daughters progress which had me very frustrated.

Though this product is for 3-8 year olds we felt at 6 1/2 the product is a little young for my daughter. It would have been great to have it when she was 3 and use it as she grows but starting at her age she just feels it is a little simple. She loves to learn but gets bored with the games she has. Maybe purchasing some cartridge games geared at 6-8 might help that.

Overall the product is great quality, had different ways to use it, versatile as you can take it anywhere you go, has tons of game options (if you want to pay for them). At the price it is a good deal. I just wish I could get the progress log to work.

My granddaughter loves the Brainy Baby television shows and I just knew she would like a book from the series as well. Great quality board book.

Each page has a number with the same number of a different item. It goes up to 20. Not really a story book but teaches counting. My son is 2 and can count to 20 thanks to this book.

My grandson is just about to learn the states and capitals...I thought this would be a great way of speeding up the process. He plays guessing games with his little buddies. They are all learning!

The kids used math wraps at their school, and this system is a great way to engage kids, for a short period of time, with instant feedback. They can do this in the car, or around the house. Love them! The Math wraps are superior in that the state capitals and names get obscured by the string as it is wrapped around. It does not happen with the numbers since the script is smaller.

I bought this for my children and also for use when I am working with students at my daughters school. They love these and many teachers only have the math ones.

My Japanese students had things with Sentimental Circus on it and I thought it was too cute to resist!

It's a nice folder with one pocket. Appreciated the cute tape that was sent with it as well!
