This is a beautiful keepsake for a diary, journal or lists and plans for a special occasion. The jacquard cloth is high quality with the gold brocade and jeweled beads sewn very fine and artistically for a unique pattern. While supply might be limited, if this is ever spotted here again, it would be a splendid buy for personal or gift purposes. Service by this particular vendor was fantastic.

Review of Woodstock Percussion ZENERGY2 Zenergy Meditation Chime Percussion

Woodstock Percussion ZENERGY2 Zenergy Meditation Chime Percussion Instrument
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I have one of the smaller, single-"bell" units and like the tone it produces, clear, ringing, with LOTS of resonances; this two-"bell" unit is much more complex in the tone(s) it produces. When both "bells" are struck, I can "feel the beats" between the tones generated, which are slightly offset. The resulting mixed sound is extremely complex compared to the single unit, and has an "Oriental" overcast to the tones as they mix. If you're a "pure western music" "trained ear", you might find this a little unsettling at first, since there doesn't seem to me to be a "normal diatonic" relationship between the primary tones, but rather an "Oriental" relationship. If you're looking for an "Oriental-ish" sound, this little unit should be considered.

I purchased this tone set to use in my kindergarten classroom. The description states that there are two different tones, however the item I received did not have two different tones. What is the point of having two tones when they are the same?

I use this product daily in my classroom with students and it is still working great after months of heavy use. The sound is great too.

Honest reviews on Woodstock Percussion ZENERGY2 Zenergy Meditation Chime Percussion

Yes they are the same tone as one reviewer stated, however I like that as it provides an effect that is soothing. It is nice to start or end a meditation session with it. Good craftsman ship. Don't expect to play a tune on it though.

This is a great game to work on money counting skills. My kids are 3 and 5, and although we couldn't play it as a family, they will grow in to it. For now I loaned it to my son's kindergarten class for the older kids to enjoy.

Hape Pyramid of Play Review

Hape Pyramid of Play
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I got so sick of cardboard nesting blocks not being able to stand up to what my sons can dish out. I searched for wooden nesting blocks and these popped up. The boys LOVE themespecially my one year old. Simpler than a multi-shape sorter, he can easily put the shape in it's box, then pick the box up and **peek-a-boo** there is his block. He can play this game forever! My older son is 3.5 and he loves to see the numbers, letters and color words. These can withstand his stacking and crashing time and again. These also present an opportunity for the kids to play together.

One small feature that shows how Educo pays attention to detail is the little "lip" on the top (or bottom, depending) of each block. This allows sturdier stacking as they nest in or on top of eachother. This is nice for a 1 year old just learning to build. Once he stacks, it stays giving him an opportunity to celebrate as his tower grows higher!

These are the favorite of the nesting/sorting toys in our house!

We chose these blocks over many others because they are real wood, and have a variety of educational benefits to them. We had a hard time finding a good set, because most of the other sets seem to be made of cardboard or balsa wood, but not these. After growing up with good solid toys, we've had a hard time finding similar quality now. But we are very happy with this purchase.

From the minute we pulled these out, our 11 month old was thrilled, and played with them longer than any new toy we've given her so far. The blocks are made of real wood, and stack nicely within or on top of each other. The tall lip allows for them to be very stable when stacked, and the shape blocks can only go through the shape that fits them, and they fit easily.

Everything is color coded, and there are subtle but well themed choices as far as the sides. For example, the food/animal sides all have things that start with the letter of their block (A -> Apple, B -> Butterfly, etc.). They have the number on one side, and on the shape slot they also have the shape and number corresponding. The colors are vibrant and everything is durable. It is a very well thought out toy, and a lot of coordination seems to have been put into each block.

As for durability, I'm more worried about my floor than these things falling apart. My daughter didn't really throw things before we bought these, but she seems to delight in flinging these blocks around, and she can really get them moving. Most of the time, she sends them horizontal, but occasionally straight up and down. They've hit pretty hard and I can't seem to find any damage to them (or my laminate floor... yet). But despite being durable, they are very light weight, so she can easily move them all over the place.

I can't say enough how pleased we are with these blocks, and I wish more toys these days were made with this level of quality.

Best Deals for Hape Pyramid of Play

This is a perfect size, colorful, well made, and is very entertaining. The boxes have a raised edge so the cubes don't fall off while stacking.

Honest reviews on Hape Pyramid of Play

I purchased this for my 14 month old daughter. She loves it. However, the shapes do not pass the "toilet paper" roll test, in which you try to pass the toy (or in this case, the shape) through the center of a toilet paper roll. If it fits, it is not safe because the toy can become lodged in a child's throat. I'm not sure why this product says it is safe for 18+ months when the shapes are clearly unsafe. I'm really disappointed because this was my child's major toy for Christmas and she can't even properly play with it.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Hape Pyramid of Play

Yes...we only have one set! The boys got this for Christmas at 21 months old and have played with it everyday since! The shape sorter is ineffective at this point and the pieces end up behind the couch or get launched at someones head...those are reserved for more "directed play". I don't know what is so amazing about them but they entertain the boys...and that's all that matters.

We like that they nest and have a lip for secure stacking...great quality and graphics. Just wish we had another set...

This is just what it says it is a booster pack for the original game.

The pieces in the booster pack are slightly different than the original pieces.

They are a different shade of blue on the back, and the board is thinner. Now, my 3-year old does not notice it, I think it would take an adult to figure it out, so it's all good.

I have several of the HexBug Nanos, and I have a great time playing with them. They really do resemble tiny, fast moving bugs that race around their habitat. The problem is that the product description for this toy says, "Hexbugs are designed with two touch-sensitive antennae that sense obstacles and direct them to reverse and change direction on their six articulated legs. They re even sound-sensitive! Clap your hand, slap the table or make some other loud noise and your Hexbug will stop and change direction." While that is true of some of the larger HexBugs, it is NOT true of the Nano. The Nano has no antennae, and does not respond to touch or sound. You cannot control where it will go. It can't stop or back up. The Nano has 12 rubber, non-articulated legs which are curved so that the vibrations its body makes produce rapid, forward movement. It has a wedge-shaped head which will cause it to turn slightly when it meets with an obstacle, keeping it from getting stuck against things. The result is a very life-like movement, similar to that of a beetle or a very small hamster. This may not sound very appealing, but they are actually quite charming. Their frantic movements give you the impression that they are "exploring" their world, and you want to see what they "do" next. You can buy one of the specially designed "habitats" for them, or create an obstacle course for them out of a shoebox and small things they can "play" with. (We like to put a small, rubber ball and an empty toilet paper tube in a shoe box and see how long it takes the random motions of the Nano to push the ball through the tube!) These are mesmerizing little toys that are good for hours of fun. A perfect "pet" for a child who is not yet ready for the responsibilities of owning a living animal.

Bought about 7 Hexbug Nanos for nephews ages 3 to 10 and they loved them! We made tracks and mazes and raced them. The Nano is quite tiny (about 1" x 0.5"), and they can end up in very tight places if you let them get away. One got between the dishwasher and the kitchen cabinet and had to be surgically removed! Also, you will need a magnifying glass to read the instructions or change the battery (really).

This item was exclusive to Brookstone until about December 15th. Brookstone originally listed this product with photos of all available colors. The product description however states that you are getting one Hexbug in a random color. Nowhere on the listing does it say set or set of 5 etc. It is not fair for those who ordered without reading the product description and simply assumed they were getting a set because one of each color is illustrated in the photographs. Red Rocket Hobbies contacted Amazon to have their photos of singles shown and to get the listing updated to make sure people didn't assume.

Amazon has full control over which seller gets to have product information shown on product pages, even if they are wrong. If you want to complain to a company you should contact Brookstone who listed the product in the first place. I hope this helps shed some light on this description problem.

The glow in the dark Hexbugs are very cool toys and are in very limited supply this holiday season. I've never seen them sell for $5 as stated in another review. The market and demand always sets the price everywhere.

Honest reviews on One Hexbug Nano Glow-in-the-Dark Micro-Robotic Creature (colors may

I got these for my children as stocking stuffers. They enjoyed them immensely, making an obstacle course in a big box to watch these little guys maneuver around. They also loved that they glowed in the dark. Until the batteries ran out.. I would say total play time was an hour. I didn't have more batteries, so that was that. I know these can come as a pack with lots of batteries included, for lots more money. If you are going to purchase them, I would recommend buying them with lots of extra batteries.

5 year old son wanted the larger spider & ant & another insect I forget. But after I reviewed that product & other similar toys, these bugs seemed like the clear winner to me based on reviews. I followed suggestions to buy at least 2 to see how they move together, more interesting than just one bug people said. Also bought glow in the dark per reviews.(Very Cool) The habitats seemed pretty popular (& add ons for them as well). But I thought if we already have small wooden blocks and big cardboard "bricks" why not use what toys the kids already have? This way we're not adding to a landfill in a few years. Also, by not buying anything to contain these little buggers, the kids would have to spent more time building/ creating their own habitats. This has worked out FABULOUSLY! They build long runs & mazes side by side, with each bug having its own identical space, and then watch the bugs "race" through their creations to see who the winning bug is. This is fun, simple, creative, and saves $$ I don't have to shell out for a habitat that doesn't have any other useful purpose. Now my 7 yr old son AND my husband want to get their own bugs. Everyone is taken with such a clever little gadget. They truly seem like real insects. Even the cat is fascinated by them. As for batteries, we have not had to change them yet, & they've had a LOT of play time. For what it's worth, my husband is a diabetic & his pump runs on these batteries. So if anyone out there is a diabetic w/ pump, you have an unlimited supply of these batteries at your finger tips, just remove them before discarding your pump. Store them so they do not touch each other, so they do not drain their energy. We tape ours to a piece of cardboard. This is not an educational toy, it's just pure fun. Building your own structures to contain these little creatures does add a smidge of educational value, right? Found this toy @ WALMART for much cheaper.

I got this game for my 5 year old son. He likes it, loves shooting things and trying to spell words. However, the game froze his leapster within 10 minutes of playing. I had to take the batteries out to get his game working again. It froze his leaptser again a few days later. I can also hear the game "catching" while he's playing it. It's a fun game, just too bad that it has these glitches.

LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: 1st Grade

I bought this cartridge for my 4YO son. He loves it. The games are fun and very educational. His favorite is the "LetterPiller" game, where the child guides a little caterpillar to letters in order to form words. There is a cute show when the word is complete and the game is very forgiving of mistakes. This has really helped my son learn to keep trying. Before he got his leapster, he would get upset after making a mistake, now he doesn't care at all. There is also a bumper car math game which is a little advanced for him, but would probably be good for a 5YO. There is a "log ride" game which teaches grammer. My son really likes that one too.

While I think this is way to easy for a real first grader, it is perfect for a 4-6YO child. My 4YO absolutely adores it. So I think the game deserves 5 stars even though they got the ages wrong.

I wanted to buy a game that would make my 5 year old happy and, at the same time, improve his skills in Math and language. This game achieved achieved both ends.

I am not sure if it is a full-fledged first grade level game, but it will present a challenge for 4 6 year olds.

My daughter just turned 5 and is already on level 3 of all but math. She's an early bloomer with academics, but still, for a 6 year old this might be okay for the first couple of mos of 1st grade and then it would be too easy. I wish it was more challenging for her, and covered more subjects like science facts and basic geography. I guess we'll be investing in 2nd Grade sooner than I thought.

These magnets are great because they are functional, but my only problem is the font they came in. I abhor Comic Sans font and sure enough instead of the pristine font shown, I was given Comic Sans. That oddly is a big deal to me. I know this is nitpicking but I was disappointed because I didn't get exactly as I ordered. As this is for my child's chore list and the "a" in the Comic Sans font is one of the only fonts with how preschoolers are taught, I won't be returning the magnets.

My 18 month old just opened this toy for Christmas, and she LOVES it! I can't say how durable it will be, but I have high hopes for it, considering they letters/numbers are made of foam. I think they will probably get lost before they tear or break. Maybe she could take small bites out or something, but we will be watching her while she plays anyway. I read someone's review that said it was hard to tell what some of the letters were... I agree, but only for a few. M and W seem pretty interchangeable. I can't tell which way is up on I. But I don't really think either of those things matters. All in all, I love this toy, and so does my daughter!

This is a really great toy and we were excited to give it to our daughter at her first birthday. The only drawback is she can't open the purse by herself. You have to push the handle very hard towards the back to get it to open. It took our three year old quite a while to do it and sometimes she can't and has to ask us for help. We had a similar problem with the Sesame Purse that was made a few years ago. They need to redesign the purse so that is is easy to open. It could possiby be a heavy duty cloth bag with velcro closure or something along that line. The toys inside are great so we generally leave them out of the purse for her to play with.

We bought this toy to try to occupy our 18 month old on a long plane trip. It worked,... at least for a while. The plastic purse contain several items including lipstick, keys, cell phone, change purse and others. Our daughter does enjoy playing with this although she prefers toys that do something (come part, make noise, have moving parts). The cell phone does open and squeak when you press the buttons and the change purse rattles but the other items really don't do anything so she became a little bored with them. Still she did like this toy and enjoyed imitating mom by putting on lipstick, "talking" on the phone etc. The toy itself is pretty durable and has survived several drops on the floor without breaking.

Overall I would recommend this toy for any young toddler that likes to imitate mom or play "make believe." At the price that it is selling for it is also a pretty good value.

Honest reviews on Sesame Street Baby Purse Playset

My daughter received this as a gift when she turned one and I didn't give it to her right away thinking she was too young. Once I showed it to her at age 14 months, she absolutely loved it! She pretends to be painting her lips and mine with the big plastic lipstick. She loves opening, closing and shaking the coin purse (it's great because there's only the "sound" of coins so no mess to pick up). And she opens and closes the cell phone while pretending to talk on it. She's 16 months old now and totally understands that it's "her purse" and LOVES emptying and filling it. One of her favorites!

I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and while she loves the Sesame Street theme, it was a bit bulky and uncomfortable to carry around. We returned it and got the "My First Purse" instead and she really loves that one. Overall they have the same features, this one is just a lot more bulky because of the hard plastic.
