My husband and I bought this when we were assembling our Zombie/Tidal Wave/Economic Collapse/Rapture/Apocalypse/3 Days 3 Ways kit so that we would be prepared when our energy bars, looting, and foraging options ran out. We live in Seattle, where sea and land birds are plentiful, and in the case of longer term disaster, I bet there will be a lot of small animals running around after awhile (everyone here owns a dog!).

So far we are very satisfied with this net, having practiced some throws in our living room. I'm confident that we could get a pigeon or seagull with ease. Not sure, but I think we may have to add a couple of weights to the outside just to make sure nothing flies away with it. We could get more distance out of our throws and have an easier time catching birds, although the ones around here are fat and lazy and usually trust humans. I wanna give a big thanks to all the park-bench-sitting bird-feeding old people out there. Y'all are definitely going to make our lives easier in our upcoming post-apocalyptic future!

The small size originally gave me pause but, upon reflection, it is actually one of the great advantages of this product. When we reach the point where we have nothing but our utility belts and backpacks as we make our way across a ruined cityscape, it can be easily wrapped up in a small bundle and attached to a snap loop for easy access and instant kills. A larger net would not afford this option so easily. We won't have the time to stop and wait for prey, or slowly stalk it through deserted parks while keeping a close eye out for zombies/mercenaries/vigilantes/mutants/gangs.

I am also pleased with the construction of the backyard safari net. It's made of rip-stop nylon, so I can be assured that stray beaks, claws, and teeth will be less likely to damage it with frequent use. This also means it won't be absorbing any messy fluids and will be very easy to wash and quickly dry, a must for those picky about sanitation, even while on the road searching out other humans who may have also survived.

I rated it lower for educational value because there wasn't much in the way of instructions included. A general guide to lizards, birds, and small mammals and some field dressing or cooking tips would have really been useful.

I also love the Lizard Hunter merit badge (so cute!) and have attached it to my backpack.

I have purchased just about every imaginable Summit Backyard Safari product for my oldest son (just turned 4 years old). He loves all of them. This one came with one of the patches, which my son LOVES for his safari vest, and he and his 2.5 year old brother had oodles of fun using it to "catch" each other. The netting seems heavy duty enough to withstand whatever my kids will throw it at, and the green rope that it is stretched around is nice and thick, but also gentle enough that it doesn't hurt them or any of my house when they are tossing it around. I really love all of this company's products. The kids have left them in the backyard in the rain/sprinklers, and although they are dirty, they are still perfectly usable. I recommend this product, and all of the Backyard Safari products for any family with inquisitive, creepy-crawly loving little ones. It encourages their interests in an age appropriate, and fun way.

After long and hard debate between the Innotab and the Leappad, we went with the Innotab because it's cheaper(this exact product, SOFT case included(I just noticed that item being reviewed picture on this page shows the innotab sitting with the hard case, while the actual box shown on the main page uses the SOFT case, if it's got INNOTAB emblazioned on it, it's THE SOFT CASE!), was found for 79.99 at a big box toy retailer, and ordered over the internet, DON'T PAY MORE FOR A TOY THAN YOU WOULD AN ADULT VERSION!)

Why did we choose the innotab? Because of it's video playback capabilities, and the fact that the cartridges you purchase often have 5 different activities for the same price as one app on it's closest competitor, as well as expandability with SD cards. Of course, this is a christmas present, and I'm so excited for christmas. I just spent the last 2 hours playing with the Innotab and finally decided to pack it back up and tape it up so I can't play with it anymore :D I easily removed the Innotab from the packaging and replaced it just as easily.

The download was easy, I have Windows 7 and a 10g connection, but it literally only took a few minutes, the longest part was the upload of the updates thus far, and that only took a minute. I went to vtechkids website and registered it, set up my parental account, and my daughter's account. Then I spent an hour uploading music to the 2GB SD card(not included, I cannabilized my camera lol) and playing with the various functions. I absolutely LOVE the fact that it has a stand built right in. There's auto shut off if nothing happens in 8 minutes, and it goes into a modified sleep mode after it's been left for 4 minutes.

The consthe screen itself seems a little iffy, but that might just be me, personally(touch screens and I have long agreed to disagree), and this particular case seems really flimsy and cheap, more of a decorative cover than functional. Maybe when the Easter Bunny comes to town, we'll buy the hard case(cause I sure as crap ain't paying more for the hard case than I paid for the innotab, eh?) and I'm not too sure about the reader yet, but that was only one sample book, I didn't spend the 3 coins that came with it, I figured I'd better let her pick what things she wants. Everything in the store is 1 coin atm, but it's all 1 item, you HAVE to buy cartridges to get the premium character items, and we haven't gotten any yet. Theoretically she'll be able to earn more coins by completing certain games, we'll see how that works after christmas.

I don't have a tablet myself, and I'm actually jealous of my 5 year old. Lol. I'll be back if any glaring problems present themselves.

The Innotab is what I am having problems with. Can it be returned ? The batteries have been changed at least 5 times and she has only played on it for a total of around 3 hrs. What can be done to fix this?

I ordered this item for my daughter for her birthday. It worked well for a while, but then began making sparking noises, turning on and off randomly, and has a HUGE black mark in the middle now! My daughter has been VERY careful with her InnoTab, keeping it in the case as it is her favorite learning activity. She cannot play it at all now, and my attempts to contact the seller have gone unanswered. I bought this item early because the price was fair. I should have just purchased from another decent, honest seller and paid the extra money. I will NEVER purchase from this seller again, nor will I recommend them! My daughter is heartbroken!!!

The tablet was a great Christmas present for my daughter. Soon after receiving it the touch screen stopped working properly. We did all the trouble shoots and since could not get the touch screen back on track. I had to call the company of V-Tech to get a replacement tablet. Other than that my daughter loves it. She can now stay off of my iPad since she has her own age appropriate tablet.

I bought this case for the Mobigo and really liked some of the features. It is sturdy and strong enough to protect the items inside. I really liked the protective flap that covers the screen from getting scratched. There is a zipped pocket where you can store quite a few games I have four in there now and could easily double that amount. There are two elastic straps that hold the Mobigo securely in place. It is not too hard for my almost 6 year old to put the Mobigo in but a little tight to take out. I even have some trouble with getting it in and out because it's tight but I imagine it will get easier with use. Overall a good accessory and value.

I purchased a MobiGo for my nephew's third birthday. I thought he may be too young for the game, but he picked it up in no time. Plus, he loves the games which are very educational (Toy Story 3 is his favorite right now.) The game system is well worth the money and easy to use. This case is a "must have." A 3 year old boy is not the most gentle when it comes to toys so the case is wonderful. It stores his gaming system, along with a few games in a durable case. If you are going to spend the money on the system, I would strongly recommend the additional expense of getting a solid case, like this one.

The Mobigo fits unbelievable tight in this thing. As in, it takes approximately 1 minute of fooling with it to get the thing in or out. I cannot imagine why on earth they created it so amazingly snug, especially for a device intended for small children. There is no way a young kid could use this without assistance. We still use it, to protect the Mobigo, but I (silently) curse the case every time I have to struggle with it.

As long as you don't get gouged on the price, this table is great. Check around on the prices. I got this for my 5 month old at christmas time. She couldn't stand on her own, but she could bear weight just fine, so she really enjoyed playing with it as I held her steady. Now that she is older and standing on her own (8 months), she still loves it. The activities are simple but entertaining. She loves the music and it is not at all annoying. It is sea-themed music and sound effects. The spinning ball in the middle is the main fun attraction but she uses all the parts and they are good for learning dexterity. I believe this is something she will happily crawl/walk over to and play with as time goes on. It isn't anything that she seems to get tired of so far because of the music and lights and variety of things to do. It may not be as "fancy" as some of the other tables, but it is also cheaper, a bit smaller (takes up less space), and probably less annoying. and babies don't care about fancy. I love the colors, too.

The cut outs are perfect but this is not a snug case. The sides are a little flappy and very easy to lift when handling. First of all, go ahead and buy both packs of cards, you won't be disappointed. I've reviewed the cards in general on the Pack 1 site (5 stars!), but wanted to say that these cards are just as impressive as the first set. Even if you speak no French at all, you can just jump in and start learning from the moment you open the cards. I think it's brilliant how the game was designed. The word on each card is not translated on that card you get points not only for making sentences, but also for translating the sentences. However, the translation of the word is somewhere at the bottom of another card in the deck. As you play, you will get better and better at knowing what each word means. I've had some French classes in high school and college and been to France twice. My daughter knows no French. However, we are able to play the game together very well. There are plenty of words I don't know, and she's quite fast at picking up the vocabulary. A great game for the whole family!

My husband and I purchased Decks 3 & 4 (actually, both packs including Decks 1 & 2) without knowing if we would enjoy this game. Not a very expensive risk but still a risk because we did not see it in our local stores or knew of any friends who owned them so that we could try the game out first.

We had a blast! It was a little challenging at first since we are very new to french but now we realize how much we have learned when days later we are remembering the words from playing the game. They stick in your brain! I should add that the words on the cards are useful and are needed for everyday language which is very important to us.

I highly recommend this game to anyone new to the language and needing a fun and interesting way to learn.

We got this for my son for his first birthday (he is now 2 1/2), and he really loved it then. He really enjoyed banging the keys and making as much noise as possible. Over time he has grown out of it though. He now is all about guitars and drums ;) Every once in a while he will hit a few keys on it but that's about it. Even with that said, I still think it is awesome. The sound is excellent for a tiny piano. The colors are beautiful and it is very well made. My favorite thing is how durable it is!!! This is a nice construction toy, the bright colors, variety of shapes and magnets get any kids attention. Bad points are that one box doesn't seem to be enough and comparing with magnext, Webz doesn't make a strong enough top, this will just break apart or won't spin as long as the other. Webz is still a lot more attractive to the eye, has more pieces than the others -for the same price-, and your kid's imagination can go farther with 4 different shapes.

We bought these for my 4 year old for Christmas. He is not quite old enough to be able to build the more advanced shapes, but if I show him a how to build a basic shape he can repeat it. My 5 year old was able to build basic shapes on his own and can replicate more advanced shapes after I show him one time. He likes to build designs then smash them and rebuild again. After he did that a few times he decided that the one shape he build looked like a rocket ship docket to a launch base (it really did look like that) and proceed to play rocket ship into outer space imaginary games for over an hour. I have to admit I enjoy messing around with this toy. Magnets are kind of fun by themselves; add the ability to stack them and build designs with them they become really fun.

If you are comparing this to other building toys I'd say it is more fun to build than legos or other stacking/locking toys, but keep in kind that the Webz are not held together as strongly as other stacking/locking toys so imaginary play has to be gentle (my son's rocket ship games often ended in an accidental explosion mid flight, but he did not seem to mind since the ship was easily fixed.)

I've read a few reviews about needing large a large quantity to make them worth while and I agree. I would not recommend getting less than the 108 that come in this kit. It would have been nice to have more than 108 but not necessary to enjoy.

We've had it for a few weeks now, and both my 5 yo and my 9 yo play with it every day. It's surprisingly un-messy, because the pieces glob together from the magnetism when they're not being placed. It has enough pieces to where it works very well as a stand-alone set. It's probably on my "Top 10 Best Ever Toys" list!

I bought these 2 games (Hotwheels & Diego) for my 3 yr old. He sometimes gets a little tired on the smartcycle, in general, with all the pedaling. However, these 2 are by far his favorite games. My 5yr old, who I thought might be too old for this, loves it as well. In fact they both love to play so much that we are looking into getting another smartcycle & tv for their room so we don't have to listen to all the fighting!

Basically, the kids practice educational activities, gain coordination, plus actually get some good excersize, all the while never knowing they are doing anything but having a great time!

With the Hotwheels game, in particular, I noticed a very quick improvement in my 3 yr old's number recognition up to significantly higher numbers than his age group should be expected to know.

Buy Dream Dazzler Stylin' Guitar

I have been looking at guitars for my 3 year old's birthday... she loves playing instruments! I was torn between this one and the barbie one, and I'm so glad i went into the store to look at them in person!

The things I like about this one are the buttons actually play one note, all of the other guitars would play an entire song with one push of a button.

It also has actual buttons... the barbie guitar had one long plastic thing, with pressure points under, which seems like it could break easy. The other guitars I looked at did have the buttons too, but like I said, they all played more than just a note.

The strings light up and look like they will be fun to play!

The only thing that turned me off about this guitar is that the whammy bar does not make whammy type noises, it actually says phrases, like "Wow", "you rock!", and lastly "whatever!". I don't really want my daughters saying "whatever", and I know my 4 year old is going to get a kick out of it saying that since we tell her NOT to say that. i don't understand why these companies have to ruin a good toy with things like that. That was my only issue with this though! The price was so good too, so I bought it! as usual, the price is about half at TRU.

one other complaint that I've seen on other website reviews, is that there is no volume control... but with any toy that has no on/off switch, or plays too loud, I put a piece of clear tape over the speaker, and voila! it's a more tolerable volume! :-)

When my daughter got the Barbie movie about the Pop star, I knew she'd love a little guitar. I looked at a lot of online reviews and saw this was one of the only ones that actually had real strings, not just buttons. Some of the others also had comments about the end coming off, whereas this guitar is very sturdy. The girls love it and it has a shoulder strap that you can take off if you're worried about it getting wrapped around their neck, or leave on if you like. I highly recommend this product!
