Cheap Meinl Super Dry Studio Tambourine
I fell in love with the sound of the Super Dry Studio Tambourine the first time I picked it up. It's kind of hard to describe the sound. It's both old-world sounding, like that of a primitive unrefined instrument, yet can at the same time be have a modern and brash industrial feel. It's probably the closest you can get to sounding like rattling scrap metal while still retaining a musical tone.

Water Gel, Peg Box Reviews
I purchased the product for my children's sermon at church. It worked perfectly. I tested it first with different liquids and temperatures to make sure it worked and every time as close to instantly as you can get it solidified the liquid. It sometimes worked too well. I found it worked best if you pour the liquid into a receptacle that has the powder already in it. If you try to stir it into a liquid almost inevitably the spoon will get stuck in it before you can be removed, lol. Great product, worked as expected and was lots of fun.
P.S. Salt breaks down the gel reverting it back to liquid, or close to liquid.

I used it as a demo for 4th graders (along with the insta-snow) and they love it! Unfortunately you cannot reuse the water gel as easily (mine molded before it dried out) as the snow, but you need less of the water gel to get the same volume. This package was much smaller than expected so I ended up buying a tub of gel off of Steve Spangler science. The students loved having it flipped over their heads!Best Deals for Water Gel, Peg Box
My Grandson had a good time experimenting with this tricky water gel. According to the insert, the gel is supposed to dry and return to it's original form, so that it can be used repeatedly. We followed directions closely. The gel crystalized into hard chunks and had to be thrown away. I would still recommend it; just know that it can only be used once.Honest reviews on Water Gel, Peg Box
There is something about these toy balls that fascinates adults and children alike. Great value for the price. Would have loved to see more of them in the package.Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Discount Learning Through Music Plus - Ariel's First Day at Sea School
My daughters love this toy. When they were little, they'd just push the buttons to make the pages move and listen to the music. As they got older, it got more interactive, and they would do the activities on each page.I think that the Learn Through Music Plus is a great toy, in fact, probably one of the only toys my daughter will play with for more than 1 minute. I'd say it's one of her favorites, the Ariel Rom is very cute and she likes it a lot, but she doesn't like it as much as Dora. I'd recommend it though.

Reviews of Kassel™ 80Mm Dark Blue Globe Paper Wt
This is a great paperweight. It's made from very good quality, comes in a great gift box, And can be used as an Educational tool as well. What I thought was the coolest part about this paperweight was that the different colors in the globe are made from the actual stones that are found in those parts of the world. This would make an excellent gift for Any traveler or culture lover.I was pleasantly surprised as this globe is nicer than it looked in the picture. The colors are amazing. I have another one that is very similar but not as nice as this one. It shipped very quickly as well. Love it!!

Reviews of Thames & Kosmos Classic Science Milestones in Science
This kit contains numerous fun experiments you can perform yourself using common household items and some items you might find at your local hardware store. The kit features stories of how our early inventors discovered new and exciting ways to tap into the interesting world of science. This kit would be very useful to use even for science projects at school or just for the beginner inventor/scientist.

I bought this for my 12-year-old for Christmas. He's been having a ball with it, and learning a lot. My only complaint was that it didn't come with something to organize all the little pieces. But I noticed that ahead of time, and was prepared with a small tackle box for him to put everything in. So far, he's been able to do most of the projects with minimal assistance.Best Deals for Thames & Kosmos Classic Science Milestones in Science
This was our son's "big gift"; he's a 7 yr old who wants to be a scientist when he grows up. Highly recommend purchasing a tackle box or some storage solution to store all of its small parts. While we realize most of the stuff you could cobble together yourself, for us, it was just easier to purchase a science kit with all the parts. I knew the science experiment materials would be made of cheap plastic (and they were), but I was expecting a hardcover, sturdy book for this price. Unfortunately the "manual" is a flimsy paperback (why I rate this product a 4). However, the content of the book is great jus wish it were more durable. So far we've completed 4 experiments and they've been easy to follow with great discussion questions. It's a lot of fun and very educational (not in a boring way).Honest reviews on Thames & Kosmos Classic Science Milestones in Science
Haven't had too much time to look at it myself but the one I bought it for has spent enough time reading through the history and how to do the experiments that I know it is well liked. Definitely a good buy for the inquisitive young science student.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Thames & Kosmos Classic Science Milestones in Science

Little Tikes DiscoverSounds Workshop Review
A hammer....a ball....kids delight. The tools are fun and the boy likes it. He also has a Fisher Price toy that is very similiar, which I think is a bigger hit overall...but for the price, this is a fun addition.

You need a child with strong arm to knock those musical knobs hard enough to make a sound. The middle, yellow knob, hardly plays misic when I pound it..one thing I don't like is that the whole thing easilygets knocked down, for a child on the younger side, 13 months, he barelyleans on it and down it goes.Monday, October 20, 2014

Cheap Adventure Science series: Chemistry Blast
This is a great set for the young experimentor. I bought it for my 6 year old who has been asking for a chemistry set. It uses items that you should already have around the house, like salt and baking soda. They are easy experiments. I would recommend this for maybe 5-9. The younger ones will need parental help, but it is fun.

My son really loves science and wanted a kit so he could conduct experiments. I looked for something he could do on his own/ or without much adult involvement. He could do everything on his own (7 yrs old). However, there aren't that many "tricks"/ experiments to do and one didn't work. I guess, it's not bad and value for money is fine. I"m just not sure I would re-buy it/ recommend it.Best Deals for Adventure Science series: Chemistry Blast

Honest reviews on Adventure Science series: Chemistry Blast
I bought this kit for my 5 year old son as part of our homeschooling curriculum. We have enjoyed other kits in this series, but this one is a disappointment. The experiments themselves are interesting. However, what is lacking in this kit are any educational explanations so the child actually understands the results of the experiments. Also, the whole kit can be completed in one sitting.Sunday, September 21, 2014
Discount 24 Game Double Digits
The game 24 math challenge is awesome. I bought single and double digits games for my 5th grade daughter. Her school was holding a tournament. She came in first place. She learned so much and picked it up very quickly. I highly recommend this game. You really have to know your multiplication facts and patterns. This game is very educational and more importantly...FUN!!!!!!!! I highly recommend it.

My son found out about this game at school and pestered me endlessly to get it for him. Over the months since then he's played it so much that his ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply in his head has become pretty amazing. Granted he did like math to begin with which probably helps a lot but this game has really helped to bring his grade up. Amazing what you can get away with when you call it a game instead of educational. There are three levels of cards from fairly easy to pretty hard so it isn't too hard to get a child started on it.Best Deals for 24 Game Double Digits

Buy Eeboo Counting Birds Wall Cards
This artwork is beautiful and detailed. I love how it appears to be made of different fabric patterns. This is great to introduce babies/toddlers to counting and birds. My baby loved looking at the pictures and having us count the birds aloud (over an over again). Now my toddler is starting to count the birds and to differentiate between the different colors/birds. The cards are durable and hold up well for its' purpose (durable poster board). Did I mention the art was beautiful?
They are printed on a sturdy paper that is matte on the front and glossy on back. That was great thinking because there is no issue with glare on the front, but I can use puddy on the back to attach it to the wall without it ripping the paper when I want to move these.
Definitely worth purchasing.

These counting cards make gorgeous nursery pictures! I found some cheap frames from a craft store, spray painted them white and framed all 10 cards, then hung in groups of 2 around my daughter's room. They are beautiful! I got the idea from a friend who had done the same, only with dark wood frames for her son's room. They are very high quality with nice coloring and fairy tale type pictures. Cheap Variola Ball Track System
This is just a beautiful piece. Gorgeous solid wood construction, lively non-toxic colors, thoughtful and engaging design. Made in Germany. Heirloom quality.
I looked at several ball and track sets and finally decided the Haba version was just too advanced for a 2 year old to enjoy. The plastic Made-in-China versions looked like junk. I was actually concerned that it would be too simplistic because it is safe for a one year old, but that really relates to the size of the ball. I am grateful I don't have to worry about actual marbles around the baby. My toddler has good fine motor skills and can manipulate the basic pieces but will be able to grow and enjoy the games for a long time to come. The design is really thoughtful and can be arranged many different ways.
It is also attractive enough to leave out during a dinner party. Several of our guests enjoyed playing with it.it's the coolest toy my son has. i bought it for his first birthday knowing he wouldn't really understand or have intrest in how it worked. more just mouthing everything. around 18mos i started playing with it more. DS would always rip apart my designs before i had a chance to roll the ball down. but now at 21 mos my son is careful not to destroy the track and enjoys placing the ball on the track and watching it go through everything. just this afternoon while playing with it he was trying to piece his own track together. i guess it will be only time until he understand they all fit together in a certain way. but i LOVE this toy! it's a shame selecta will not be selling it in the states anymore. very well made. quality chip proof paint.

Reviews of LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Disney-Pixar Cars 2 (works

List Price: $24.99
Sale Price: $15.96

Recently my oldest son, 5 years old, received the new LeapPad from LeapFrog to review for free along with Disney Pixar Cars 2. The great thing about this learning tablet is that it takes the same cartridges as our Leapster Explorer. So when one boy isn't playing Disney Pixar Cars 2 on the LeapPad, he's playing it on the Leapster Explorer.
About the Game: In Disney Pixar Cars 2, children will join Mater and Lightening McQueen in a global race-turned-espionage tale. Along the way, children will practice measurements, problem-solving, graphs, sequencing and patterns.
I had to pry the game out of my son's hands to learn more about it to share with you. So that said, you can be sure he loved it on the LeapPad. And when he wasn't playing with Cars 2 on the LeapPad, my 4 year old was playing with it on the Leapster Explorer. But once I got my hands on it, I chose to play it on the LeapPad to share my thoughts with you.
From the Main Menu of the game there are 5 places to visit:
Adventure Mode: You drive around Radiator Springs finding collectibles. You can meet characters along the way to talk too. It lets you know when you can talk or stop somewhere. There are activities along the way, like customizing cars or keep Mater disguised using number sequencing. As you complete activities you can get badges.
Activity Mode: There looks like there are eight activities in this mode but two of ours were locked by the time I started playing. Activities in this mode include Airport Chase (matching, fine motor skills), Finn's Photo Mission (graphing), Secret Decoder (matching), Finn's Jump (fine motor skills, tracking), Oil Rig Chase (matching, reading signs, fine motor skills), Disguise Device (number sequencing).
Salvage Yard: Where collectibles from Radiator Springs adventure mode are stored.
Badges: The different badges earned.
Micromods: I haven't ever used micromods. You download them LeapWorld to change or enhance the game somehow. It could be new game music, character upgrades, game modes or moves, etc.
The only thing I was disappointed in was the packaging. I miss having a way to easily organize my games. I kept all previous Leapster Explorer Games in their boxes on a shelf, so the boys can easily find what they are looking for and put their games back. The new packaging has to be ripped apart to remove the game, leaving you with a loose game to easily misplace.
That is everything I discovered! Overall the game is pretty cute and I am impressed with the skills it's teaching. Cartridge games for Leapster Explorer and LeapPad usually retail for $24.99. If you find them less, it's a bargain.

I was shocked when my almost-4-year-old began playing this game! Mater the tow truck has to dodge machine gun bulllets from the car chasing him! This is completely inappropriate for young children! Exposing kids to gun violence in video games so early (or at all!) is part of a growing problem, especially in light of the recent school shootings. I was appalled that an educational toy would feature a game with machine gun violence. I had to take it away from my son and say goodbye to my $20.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Disney-Pixar Cars 2 (works
Just purchased this game for my son. He was so excited to begin playing! Unfortunately, we have just wasted our money as I have to get rid of the game. I was appalled to find that there is shooting in this game something that is not allowed in our home. I understand that not all homes have this rule, but sure would be nice if Leap Frog disclosed this in their game descriptions so that parents could make educated decisions about the games they are purchasing for their children.
