I bought this game for my son who just turned five because I thought it may be challenging for him. He loves the SpongeBob game which is also age 6 to 8 and it has lasted him a very long time and provided lots of entertainment. So I thought I should go for the 6 to 8 range again but this is a little different from SpongeBob. This is like a role-playing game and Shrek can be difficult to maneuver sometimes, especially for a child.... it's tough for me sometimes and I'm an adult! Shrek doesn't seem to be where it looks like he is in the game. For instance there is a game with a dragon that breathes fire balls and you have to shoot at the correct fireball but you can't touch the fireball or else you get hurt. It was almost impossible for me to get the correct angle in order to shoot these fireballs without touching them and it was more frustrating than anything. It always "looked" like Shrek was in the right place, but then you shoot and it's going nowhere near the target.

When first playing the game I thought it may be too difficult for him and was a little worried but after playing for one day, he beat almost every game on there and on the 2nd day he beat all of them.

Another thing that was kind of disappointing was that most of the games just repeat everything over again in the exact same order every time... So if he doesn't actually learn the things it's asking you to do, it doesn't matter because he just memorizes the answers and wins that way.

Some games are so short that you only had to play it once to memorize all the answers which seems kind of ridiculous.

I also thought the graphics would be much better.

So this was a fun game but only the first time.

My son loved playing with his V Tech, even after we got his Wii. I liked the fact that V Tech made learning fun. My son loved doing the math cartridges the most, but enjoyed playing all the games. It's really hard to get children to enjoy learning, but who doesn't love Shrek, Batman, and Thomas!

This book features a page on each of the following scenes which are labeled at the top of each page as follows: Moses and the Ten Commandments, David and Goliath, Jonah and the Whale, Joseph and his coat of many colors, Daniel in the Lion's Den, and Noah's Ark. I don't know why there isn't a sheet about Jesus or anyone from the new testament but there isn't. Each page has an interactive activity, sometime just a figure, sometime a figure and another object.

Each figure is either attached to the page with velcro, or is tethered with a short cord, and some have both methods of attachment (why each method was picked in a particular situation, I can't really figure out). I personally would prefer if they were all attached with a cord so none of the figures could be lost, but they are not.

What is interactive: Moses and the Ten Commandments has a detachable Moses and a tethered Roman Numeral commandments. David and Goliath has a detachable David with a cloth rock attached to the David by a cord which velcros onto Goliath's head. Jonah and the Whale has Jonah in the Whale's mouth and you can pull Jonah out but he is still tethered to the whale. Joseph is velcro-ed into his coat which is attached to the page, but you can take him out. Daniel in the Lion's Den has a lion you can take out of the den but it is tethered. Noah's Ark has a pair of elephants you can slide up and down a wider strip to make approach the ark.

The book zips closed and has nice bright printed colors. It has a carry handle and seems sturdy. All the attached figures make it a bit tough to zip closed (not for an adult, but for a child) and about four inches thick at its widest part. While I was writing my review all of my children wanted to play with the book, so you know that is it appealing to them.

I got this book for a few cents less than double digits, with free shipping so if you can find it for that price I would definitely pick one up. If you like the Alma's Design Goodnight Book (I own an earlier version of the same thing), and you are interested in sharing Bible stories with a youngster, this is a good bet.

This toy was an immediate hit with my 3-month old baby. She loves the crinkle noise it makes when she squishes it. It is hard to find natural and organic sound and effect toys. This is a good affordable option for an infant. It washes and drys well -a must since baby will chew on it. Still a favorite at 5 months.

This toy is ok...it does make the nice crinkly noise as advertised, but as far as being a "book" and teaching letters and numbers...It has One Apple on the first "page", two birds on the second, and three cat heads on the third page (the name of each item drawn starts with the first three letters of the alphabet: an apple starts with an a, birds starts with a b, and cats starts with a c) and that's it...there are no actual numbers or letters on the toy. The pictures are sewn in light colors as you see on the front with the apple. As it is hard to tell from picture, the colored appendages you see on the sides are not hooks, rather they are simply little flat tags (two layers sewn together--not thick). This is not an educational toy (beyond simple motor skills, color contrasts maybe), but does pass as a regular organic crinkle toy, if you want to pay that much for one. On the plus side, the white cloth is very soft (the tags on the sides are a bit rougher material).

My son enjoys this little toy, and it happened to be one of his first toys. It is sweet and pleasant looking but after a certain point there is nothing too visually stimulating about it. A different texture or textile inside the pear would have added some interest but at 9 months, my baby could care less about this. The pictures really aren't interesting enough to give a second thought to. The quality is very good and the fabric is soft and you can feel good that it is natural. I think the best age for this toy would be for 3-6 months. But there are certainly cheaper options available.

You HAVE TO GET THIS crinkle book! I have now bought two because my baby started teething at 3 months and is now 10 months and has totally worn out the knots on this thing! First of all he loves the crinkle sound and mostly he can't get enough of the knots! I have to keep washing it so he has it available for those tough days and it's holding up really well except for the knots, those have gone pretty much bald, lol....either way I bought the first one when he was about 3 months and the second one recently so it has lasted a while. This way he can have one available while the other is in the wash. I feel completely comfortable letting baby chew away on these knowing they're completely safe for my baby. I will be buying these as gifts for all my new mommy friends!

I'm always looking for the perfect toxic free toy for my six months old baby. After getting this toy I got buyers remorse for how expensive it is, for what it is. The toy is non toxic, however, it's so boring! My baby took a look at it play with it for one minute and that's it! I tried to entice her with the crinkly noise she seems to like so much, but no, she is not interested. I gave 3 starts for the fact that this is a very green toy, I hope my baby will come around and like it one good day.

Very cute. Pretty well made. Solar, but can be used with battery power (AAA). I put it amongst some flowers in my front yard, and have received many comments about it. People walking by think it is a real butterfly. It twirls arond, and also flutters like a real butterfly. The butterfly is nicely detailed plastic.

The only downside is that the solar panels are one-directional, so for the butterfly to flutter from sunrise to sunset you have to turn it towards the sun midday, and again to catch the sunrise the next day. There are 2 little solar panelsif they were installed at an angle, it could catch the sun all day without having to move it.

This garden decoration does work well as a cat toy. The realistic movement of the butterfly excites my cat more than her toy mouse on a wand -she loves it -and the butterfly and its mechanism are a lot sturdier than I thought they might be. The butterfly is holding up fine after many captures and attempts by Fiona to pull it apart or bite it, and it has no sharp edges or dangerous small parts that could hurt her. I don't use the solar power (outdoors) or even the battery powered movement (indoors) very often; its virtue is as a hand-held toy which imitates the graceful arcs and flapping motion of a butterfly better than a wand toy could.

I got this kit thinking it was an inexpensive activity for my daughter and my brother who is blind and autistic. Turns out it was the best kit of the bunch & there was a very small geode in there. When we broke it open, it was the MOST beautiful one I have seen since I was a kidthe crystals were a shiny black look but were actually clear with a black layer underneath. We found 7 rocks of 6 kinds (one type we got two of the same). Since it was advertised as at least 5, this was great, the 7th rock was a total surprise. It's pretty easy to get the rocks out, it took her about 40 min total and she is only 5 1/2. She loves rocks and so loved this kit. I will buy more in the future to add to her collection of rocks.

It did come in just a bubble lined bag, not a box, so I suspect a previous reviewer's comment that the plaster was all crumbly was due to poor handling by the delivery company. They probably should mark it fragile. Ours was delivered with no problem however.

My son was given a Little People bus filled with the Little People blocks when he was 12 months old. He has been banging the blocks together since then, and learning how to put them together. These blocks are large enough that I didn't worry about him choking on them. Now that he is older (20 months), I wanted some additional blocks for him, but didn't want to have to buy a Little People jungle or other some such kit, all I wanted was blocks to expand on what we have already. I didn't want to change brands, since his blocks attach to the bus carrier that we have already. These blocks fit the bill perfectly! There are several arches, roof shapes, and round and square blocks to help him build more complex shapes. They come in several colors so we can work on naming colors as he builds, can work on shapes (round and square, big and little) and they are easy for him to hold and push together. I actually bought 2 of these, one to keep at grandma's house! I'm very happy with my purchase!

My daughter had the little people builder wagon so I wanted to extend the set she had...I wish I never would have bought the wagon so I could have bought better blocks. For a Fisher Price set this is really disappointing! As a few other reviews mentioned these blocks DO NOT stay together-which defeats the purpose of blocks. Currently my 18 month old enjoys playing with them because they are brightly colored & new and can't get many together...but as she grows I know we will both be even more disappointed. For the price this is a rip off.

We bought this for my 6 month old son per advice of a friend that recommended blocks. The bag is a nice storage compartment that my son will tip over and it makes him laugh, but the block quality is another story. While I will stack them and my son knocks the blocks over, a lot of times the blocks collapse on their own. I have used Lego Duplo's and they stick together like traditional legos where as these blocks can barely hold four pieces on top of another.

I have been using the two volume set since 1999. It has proven very educational as a tool for manual therapy. I have been practicing massage therapy since 1998, and this reference has been the source of many insights needed to help my clients come out of their pain/dysfunction. Although it was originally written to support physicians/PTs in the area of pain management and myofascial dysfunction (hence all of the treatments involve injections and spray & stretch techniques) a massage or physical therapist can readily substitute with manual pressure to achieve the same results.

If you are a serious manual therapist, this book should be in your reference library.

My daughter got Alphie last year for Christmas. She has played with it all year, but was getting tired of the same cards. I purchased the number pack for Christmas this year. She was so excited to open it and start on the new cards. I find that the number cards range in difficulty, making it perfect for her to grow with. They are also very durableher 1 1/2 year old brother tried to play with them and they are still in great shape. I would recommend this booster pack.

I purchased all three levels of sight word flash cards and discovered that there's no discernible difference in level between them, and lots of common sight words are not included. I also expected to see more words that don't follow common rules of English pronunciation, so they have to be learned by sight. There's also some duplication between the different sets. Not particularly useful.

The sentences on the reverse side of the cards are an excellent tool other flash cards do not have. My son has learned just as much from trying to read the sentences as the words themselves.

Works perfectly, as advertised. It's on the expensive side compared to, for example, the Summit Backyard Safari Bug Vacuum for around $14. That one comes with batteries, but read the reviews, the batteries are cheap and often worn down, giving the impression it doesn't work well. I ordered that one first. It was good when it worked, but the battery door screw was stripped to begin with (new product) and the batteries seated poorly. This one feel much better built, and the battery screw and compartment are much more robust. The Summit one is shaped like a gun; hold the handle and pull the trigger. But that leads to what I suspect makes many users think the vacuum is too weak. Yes, the vacuum on any bug toy is weak so it doesn't damage the bugs. This means it can't suck very well STRAIGHT UP. With the Summit, the temptation is to hold it vertically over the bug, and that just isn't effective. With the Uncle Milton, the end of the sucker is cut at an angle, encouraging one to hold it at just a little over horizontal. This works wonders for the vacuum of both units, although this one works even better since it is cut on an angle.

At first it seemed it would be clumsy, without the Summit's pistol grip. But again, this encourages one to not try to suck straight up. The battery compartment has a flat bottom, and this makes it very convenient to set on a floor or table for observation of the bugs. It has both an on-off switch and a push button. Seemed like this might be extraneous, but it's a good feature. The push button is used for on/off during a bugging session. Then, the unit can be turned off with a slide switch so if it's put in luggage or a toy chest etc. it won't accidentally come on.

What a relief to find this one well constructed, after I spent almost an hour trying to make the Summit battery connections work reliably.

I'm not actually using this as a toy but as a bug catcher. It works great! I can catch a bug in the little basket and then release it outside. Much easier and cleaner than removing squashed bug off a wall.

Gave this as a gift for my 5 year old son. We immediately used it to suck up a daddy long leg spider and it worked amazing. Good suction and sure to bring lots of enjoyment. I like the cup that the bug drops into, but it is a bit tricky to take it off while keeping the spider in it as the spider immediately wants to come out. We set the spider free elsewhere.

I purchased this item as I was tired of trying to catch flies that got into our home. They would drive me nuts bouncing off the windows and I did not like killing them. Plus killing them would leave a mess on the walls and windows. The biggest reason is that it would drive me nuts trying to capture them. It would take 10 minutes or more just to catch one fly and let him go. Now...... it only takes 2 seconds and I have them! Open the canister and let them go outside. We also have caught several spiders on the walls and ceilings which can be really difficult to catch as we all know. Again... 2 seconds later and we are letting them go outside. Perfect addition to ALL households! I cant imagine life without this now.

My grandson, age 2, loved this puzzle. He is really getting good use out of it. The pieces are sturdy, and he can do this independently. When I bought this one, I also got a second one by the same maker. As a teacher, I think this helps with eye hand coordination and spatial awareness, as well as problem solving.
