After long and hard debate between the Innotab and the Leappad, we went with the Innotab because it's cheaper(this exact product, SOFT case included(I just noticed that item being reviewed picture on this page shows the innotab sitting with the hard case, while the actual box shown on the main page uses the SOFT case, if it's got INNOTAB emblazioned on it, it's THE SOFT CASE!), was found for 79.99 at a big box toy retailer, and ordered over the internet, DON'T PAY MORE FOR A TOY THAN YOU WOULD AN ADULT VERSION!)

Why did we choose the innotab? Because of it's video playback capabilities, and the fact that the cartridges you purchase often have 5 different activities for the same price as one app on it's closest competitor, as well as expandability with SD cards. Of course, this is a christmas present, and I'm so excited for christmas. I just spent the last 2 hours playing with the Innotab and finally decided to pack it back up and tape it up so I can't play with it anymore :D I easily removed the Innotab from the packaging and replaced it just as easily.

The download was easy, I have Windows 7 and a 10g connection, but it literally only took a few minutes, the longest part was the upload of the updates thus far, and that only took a minute. I went to vtechkids website and registered it, set up my parental account, and my daughter's account. Then I spent an hour uploading music to the 2GB SD card(not included, I cannabilized my camera lol) and playing with the various functions. I absolutely LOVE the fact that it has a stand built right in. There's auto shut off if nothing happens in 8 minutes, and it goes into a modified sleep mode after it's been left for 4 minutes.

The consthe screen itself seems a little iffy, but that might just be me, personally(touch screens and I have long agreed to disagree), and this particular case seems really flimsy and cheap, more of a decorative cover than functional. Maybe when the Easter Bunny comes to town, we'll buy the hard case(cause I sure as crap ain't paying more for the hard case than I paid for the innotab, eh?) and I'm not too sure about the reader yet, but that was only one sample book, I didn't spend the 3 coins that came with it, I figured I'd better let her pick what things she wants. Everything in the store is 1 coin atm, but it's all 1 item, you HAVE to buy cartridges to get the premium character items, and we haven't gotten any yet. Theoretically she'll be able to earn more coins by completing certain games, we'll see how that works after christmas.

I don't have a tablet myself, and I'm actually jealous of my 5 year old. Lol. I'll be back if any glaring problems present themselves.

The Innotab is what I am having problems with. Can it be returned ? The batteries have been changed at least 5 times and she has only played on it for a total of around 3 hrs. What can be done to fix this?

I ordered this item for my daughter for her birthday. It worked well for a while, but then began making sparking noises, turning on and off randomly, and has a HUGE black mark in the middle now! My daughter has been VERY careful with her InnoTab, keeping it in the case as it is her favorite learning activity. She cannot play it at all now, and my attempts to contact the seller have gone unanswered. I bought this item early because the price was fair. I should have just purchased from another decent, honest seller and paid the extra money. I will NEVER purchase from this seller again, nor will I recommend them! My daughter is heartbroken!!!

The tablet was a great Christmas present for my daughter. Soon after receiving it the touch screen stopped working properly. We did all the trouble shoots and since could not get the touch screen back on track. I had to call the company of V-Tech to get a replacement tablet. Other than that my daughter loves it. She can now stay off of my iPad since she has her own age appropriate tablet.

The Leapster2 was one of my daughter's birthday gifts last year (when she turned 5), at the time I also purchased 3 games for her (the I Spy treasure hunt, Tangled, and First Grade cartridges). Of those, the I Spy game has been her favorite and gotten the most replay.

I purchased this game (Disney Princesses: World of Enchantment) as a Christmas gift to expand her collection, and it has quickly become her new favorite. The games are fun and engaging, with just the right amount of challenge, and it has excellent replay value. Because it doesn't follow the storyline of a movie (like the Tangled game does), it is much more interesting to replay and definitely more educational. I highly recommend this game, and so does my daughter!

This is a Christmas gift for my 3 year old Daughter, so we have been unable to use it yet, but the arrival was spot on. No damage to the package or product. If it's anything like the previous games we have bought, I know it will be a huge hit!

I bought this for my 7yr-old so he could learn to solder and end up with something that would interest him. The device has two LEDs that flash alternately, and a siren that oscillates. It comes with everything you need but a soldering iron.

The thing I loved about this was the practice pads on the back, and the very large, widely spaced pads throughout the board. With the practice pads, your kid can easily get the hang of what it means to solder and how it should go before they have to feel like they're starting on the project. Then, once they start on the project, there is plenty of space for them to build their confidence. The kit was put together well, easy to use and understand.

For older kids with longer attention spans, the kit comes with a booklet with quite a bit of information, and a quiz. If you have a kid that is maybe 10-14, this would be for them.

The one thing that bothered me about the kit was the lack of an on-off switchso to stop the noise/lights you have to pull the battery, which annoyed my son as well. We'll add one on of course, but I think it would be the perfect addition to make the kit complete.

The drawback on the Mini Truckit has plastic wheels rather than the rubber wheels. The rubber wheels are so much better. THe truck is great and he'll love it, but the plastic wheels makes future Wonderworld car/truck purchases less appealing.

We love the Wonderworld vehicles, they are so sweet and well made. Well, usually, anyway. While the other cars my son has from them have held up well, the front yellow bumper piece fell off of this one right away. We tried wood glue to put it back, but it just won't stay on.

My family recently got an opportunity to play the Ring Bling Game. We LOVE this game. Of course you can imagine why my girls love a game with rings!

My daughter got Alphie last year for Christmas. She has played with it all year, but was getting tired of the same cards. I purchased the number pack for Christmas this year. She was so excited to open it and start on the new cards. I find that the number cards range in difficulty, making it perfect for her to grow with. They are also very durableher 1 1/2 year old brother tried to play with them and they are still in great shape. I would recommend this booster pack.

My son wanted to order this and I thought it would be a little creepy to willingly let ants come in my house, but now that it is up and running it is mesmerizing. It was really easy to put together and the instructions were very clear. It was really nice that the ants came with it and we didn't have to order them separately. I ordered this for my 5 yr. old son who loves watching Kai Lan on TV. He loves the Asian culture & loves learning Mandarin Chinese. I find it very beneficial for a young child to learn different languages & I definitely encourage it. I thought it was too good to be true at first, four posters and activity sheets or less than $10? I was skeptical, but I took a chance on them. They are full size posters made of quality poster board material. They come neatly packed and are very appealing to the eye.
