This sitting wedge is great for those little folks he just hate to sit still...or truly can't. Our son chooses to use it or a beanbag chair during circle time at school and just loves it. For the price I feel like the four base pieces could have been made from solid wood but they are made from some time of particle board material. The material doesn't seem terrible and I expect that it will hold up pretty nicely, but with solid wood there wouldn't even be a question. As pricey as it was I told myself it would be worth it because it would last for multiple children and maybe even for their children. Aside from that, the product is exactly like you would expect from the picture.

I bought this for my 6 year old's science project. We followed the included directions and performed the excavating of this Tyrannosaurus Rex. Things learned: Examining Teeth, Understanding Skeletons, Excavating and assembling the Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. It was raining the day we were going to do the dig. I decided to do the dig on our dining room table. I used play sand to cover the skeleton and then brought my son in to do the dig. This worked well and wasn't as messy as I thought would be. It's a fun activity and the model is designed to be taken apart and reused. The base of the model is a little unstable if you are planing to transport this to school like we did. I had to put a few extra screws in the 3 part base to keep the model firm so that we could transport it to the classroom.

If you have a child that is into dinosaurs and/or digging in the sand box......THIS IS A MUST!!! Even if your child is too young for the educational materials you can still guide them through a dig. Sooo cool. My 7yo helped to set up the dig sight. He and his grandpa set up the stakes. Then we sent him inside so we could place the bones. This way he would have to hunt for them and not just dig them back up. He spent most of the day going out to find more pieces (in 100+ weather!) He just couldn't wait to set the whole thing up.

We now have the skeleton on display. The skeleton is very detailed and over a decent size. I would compare it to an adult (medium to large) cat. We also bought a t-rex sand mold and made plaster bones that can be left in the "dig sight" all the time. I think he was a bit young to be doing the worksheets alone but I am sure that we will be using this again in the future. This would be a cool addition to a Dinosaur Themed Birthday Party. Shop around we found this here for a great price. Worth every penny!!!

Teachers, your students will LOVE this. I wasn't into dinosaurs as a kid but I would have thought this was a cool lesson plan. I love the hands on approach this offers.

This happens to go right along with what my son wants to be when he grows up. He wants to be an "archeologist" just like Indiana Jones. In his mind they dig up dinosaurs too. He is forever digging in the sand and getting excited over things he finds. He has been very into dinosaurs forever and I don't see that changing anytime soon. We have a whole section of books on dinosaurs in their shelves and he never fails to check out dinosaur related books from the library. What a great way to indulge his interest. The adults enjoyed themselves just watching his enthusiasm.

We bought this for a Dino dig themed party. The boys loved digging them up and even my older daughter and friend could hardly wait to have their chance to dig! Some good advice would be to assemble the bones once on your own before the party so that you will be better prepared to help during the actual party. Both my 6 year old and my nearly 3 year old still love this toy. The quality is excellent. The colors are vibrant and the little faces painted on the top pieces are very cute. There are lots of pieces so you really need to keep track while the kids are playing with this toy but you get that with many children's toys. I would highly recommend this product and this company overall.

I wish they would have had a DRUM option for this toy, where you can just let the kid hit the drum an have it make a nice sound with colorful lights and not have to hear the sing-songy lady tell you to push the blue star to hear a song (push the blue star to hear a song, push the blue star to hear a song...really do we need the same instruction over and over every 60 seconds? Just shush and let the kid play with the drum, lady!) or music that has so much going on you can barely hear when the kid beats along to it. My kid is 9 months old and likes this drum enough to play with it, but not for long. I don't think the drum sound it makes excites him much. I'm going to try and find a durable non-electronic drum for him as my husband has notions of him being the next Josh Freese.

These are wonderful for young children. We have a half-dozen now and use them for basic music lessons. The kids love to bang and shake them. We purchased our initial tambourines roughly a year ago and they have held up well after daily usage. The plastic pieces, including the clear head, are all very durable. They are sized perfectly for kid's hands, although I can also play on one of them without much difficulties.

I'll definitely buy other instruments from this brand.

The Tambourines were great, they fought over who would get one. I only bought 4 at first. The only problem that I had with them was the age group was too young. I have 2 through 4 year olds. The one 4 year old's tiny fingers went right between the metal and the plastic and the metal is so sharp, that getting the tiny fingers out was a bit trying. Bandaids all around. But, the kids learned quickly that the fingers don't go there. One boy put it on the ground and stomped the plastic center out. This is bad, because then the plastic middle now had sharp edges and the tambourines had to be put away until I could pull off the center plastic. (Needle nose plyers) My advise to the company who makes these tambourines would be: just leave off the center plastic all together. There's no need for it. They wanted to make that part a drum. Keep it simple and get rid of the plastic center immediately on arrival. The product is great, makes great sound and kids love them. Just not under 5.

Very cute. Pretty well made. Solar, but can be used with battery power (AAA). I put it amongst some flowers in my front yard, and have received many comments about it. People walking by think it is a real butterfly. It twirls arond, and also flutters like a real butterfly. The butterfly is nicely detailed plastic.

The only downside is that the solar panels are one-directional, so for the butterfly to flutter from sunrise to sunset you have to turn it towards the sun midday, and again to catch the sunrise the next day. There are 2 little solar panelsif they were installed at an angle, it could catch the sun all day without having to move it.

This garden decoration does work well as a cat toy. The realistic movement of the butterfly excites my cat more than her toy mouse on a wand -she loves it -and the butterfly and its mechanism are a lot sturdier than I thought they might be. The butterfly is holding up fine after many captures and attempts by Fiona to pull it apart or bite it, and it has no sharp edges or dangerous small parts that could hurt her. I don't use the solar power (outdoors) or even the battery powered movement (indoors) very often; its virtue is as a hand-held toy which imitates the graceful arcs and flapping motion of a butterfly better than a wand toy could.

We wanted something more than a cheap piece of plastic but not as expensive as a real bongo. This was a great fit for us. Our kids love music and we are serious about helping them develop their talent. Our 2 year old likes to run around and bang on the drum with the provided mallets and our 4 year old is already learning some technique from the games her (professional drummer) uncle is teaching her. She plays with her hands. The drum has a nice sound and is much more attractive and finer quality than anything out there in this price range that we came across.

This is not a toy it is a scaled down version of the kind of expensive equipment that a scientist would use to monitor the activity of the nervous system. I am a neuroscientist, and I purchased two SpikerBoxes. Individually they allow my undergraduate students to hear neurons firing. Paired with a computer (and some free software such as Audacity) or with an iphone (and a free app from Backyard Brains) the SpikerBoxes allow my students to see neural impulses. When "piggy-backed" with a simple adapter kit available from the makers the two SpikerBoxes serve as a two-channel differential amplifier that (when coupled with a computer) allows the speed of neural signals to be measured. I have successfully recorded action potentials ("spikes") from cockroaches, adult meal worms, and earthworms.

There is considerable discussion about whether these invertebrates feel pain, or anything else for that matter. (Yes, they react to various stimuli, but whether they have any subjective experience that might be called "feeling" is very difficult to determine.) The makers of the SpikerBox are sensitive to this, and encourage the anesthetization of the invertebrates as they are prepared for use. I agree with this approach, and urge adults to review the proposed methods of anesthetization (ice water, alcohol, or even soda water) and oversee the use of the device by children. Used properly, the SpikerBox will not only teach people about the nervous system, but it will also encourage respect for, and the proper treatment of, nonhuman animals used for research.

All in all, a great product that might lead more students into neuroscience.
