Discount Rhythm Band Littlestar Tambourine Green
I bought this for a preschool percussion kit. It's a sturdy little tambourine in a fun shape, perfect for small hands, and makes a nice sound. I especially like that you can choose the color.

Review of VTech - Kidizoom Digital Camera - Orange
Pros: Easy to grip. Fun colors. Somewhat easy to use
Cons:Terrible pictures. Nonintuitive menus. No datestamp on pictures.
We were reluctant to buy this camera vs. a small Canon (SD100) on ebay for more less the same amount. Our three year old had already proved that she could handle a small Canon (and even a big one) but we decided to go for a camera built for toddlers.
Image quality is as described by other reviewers: super low dynamic range, low resolution, slow shutter, low light sensitivity and very noisy. Pictures come out blurred, motion blurred, burnt or underexposed and people are hard to recognize. Vtech could have significantly improved performance at negligible cost simply by using a CMOS sensor made this century.
Menu navigation is OK but could be made much more intuitive and accessible, specially for toddlers. Even I have to fumble around the menus to find the featurs/settings I need, such as configure memory cards.
One notable point that this camera is lacking is picture review. Anyone who has kids and cameras nows that the most fun a toddler can have is viewing the picture he/she just snapped, and running to his/her friends and showing them. This camera only holds the review for a few seconds (not long enough) and bringing it back up requires pressing about 5 buttons to navigate through the menus to the picture editor. Again, anyone who has kids and cameras should have known that a 'review' button would have been a favorite.
The two-eyed view finder is good for kids as they don't need to learn to close one eye as in a normal camera (no points for learning here). However, the live-view LCD has a considerable refresh lag which makes it hard to frame the shot.
The trigger response is very slow (~1s) making it impossible to shoot anything that moves. I also lacks a half-way point like real cameras (no points for learning here).
Interfacing with a computer is straight forward. Just hook up the USB cable and the camera appears as a removable drive (or two if you have a memory card in it). From there you can copy your images to wherever you want. It does work on Mac OS X (10.5.6 maybe earlier). What is lacking here is that the pictures do not have date information (like any other camera) so when I import the pictures into I photo they all look like they were taken on Jan 1st of 1969. This messes up my iPhoto library and makes it impossible to use date/time as a way to track the photographic progress of our toddler.
Overall it is a descent toy for young kids 4 and under. Older kids will enjoy and have more learning benefits with a small Elph or PowerShot from ebay. I'm giving it two stars because Vtech could have significantly improved value by improving the software interface and picture quality without any additional manufacturing cost.
This camera is one of the best purchases I have ever made for my kids. They fight over using it this includes my 10-year-old boy who is mature enough to handle a "real" camera. My two girls (ages 7 & 5) love using it. The rubber grips make it easy for little ones to hold and truly protect it when it drops. They can plug the camera right into the TV and show everyone their creations. And, when we are traveling, the camera has a few video games that keep the kids busy in the car.
WORTH EVERY PENNY! The only problem they fight over it. So, I'll be buying another one this Christmas so the girls can each have their own.
Except it broke. After about a month for no apparent reason it stopped working. Pretty much first time I changed the batteries it was gone. I tried everything even pressing the nearly invisible reset button on the bottom. Then I called Vtech and they mailed me a new camera.
After they played with it for about a month, well, then it died. So I tried to change the batteries again. To no avail. :( For a product that is supposed to simply be durable our sure hasn't worked for long at all. And I know for certain that it was never dropped in a toilet or gotten wet. It was dropped a couple of times, but generally we tried to take good care of it. I don't understand why it works so inconsistently.
Compared to say, the leapsters which we have dropped several hundred times and they are still running great.
Cons:Terrible pictures. Nonintuitive menus. No datestamp on pictures.

After reading many reviews and testing several digital cameras designed for kids, I finally chose the Vtech Kidizoom Digital Camera. I am extremely pleased with this camera. This camera is very durable and easy to use. My son, who just turned 3, was able to figure out how to use it in about 5 minutes and absolutely loves it. I downloaded about 500 photos the very first day and while he has slowed down a little, I have still downloaded over 2000 and he has nearly a full camera now. The quality is not professional grade, but he has still taken some nice photos. The camera also has Tic-tac-toe, Match, and a puzzle game, which have been very nice on long trips, especially since the camera has volume control. I have also been pleased with the low battery usage. I have only changed the batteries once, which I was pleasantly surprised about given the fact of how much my son uses the camera and the relative clarity of the color LCD screen. The software is easy enough to install and use, but not a big selling point for me. The camera also has the ability to change photos by adding in a Viking's helmet or framing with a winter scene that I have tried just to see how it worked, but my son has shown little interest in this function. My only complaint is that the camera only has a wrist strap and does not have a neck strap for when little hands get tired. Again, overall, I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend to anyone looking for a durable digital camera for a little photographer.Best Deals for VTech - Kidizoom Digital Camera - Orange
My kids saw this advertised on TV last year (2007) and added it to their Christmas list. I am skeptical about a lot of toys that are advertised on TV and am careful about what I spend my money on. Honest reviews on VTech - Kidizoom Digital Camera - Orange
My children are 7 and 4. My 7 yo wanted the camera and loves it. It has alot of fun features and was very easy for her to learn how to use. This was well worth the money. My kids have had toys that they play with for just a short amount of time and then lose interest. This is not one of those toys. My daughter has been playing with it for almost a year now and my son wants his own as well. It actually takes some nice pictures and is quite durable.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for VTech - Kidizoom Digital Camera - Orange
Well, I really liked this camera while it was still working. The pictures were kinda blurry, but they were fun for the kids. And my kids, no way are they touching my camera, so it was nice that they could actually take pictures of eachother, play games, and generally be rough on it.Except it broke. I'm guessing you know how the Tag system works if you're reading this, so I'm focusing the review on the content of the book rather than the system itself. Go to LeapFrog TAG Reading System Green (or the purple one or Toy Story one) for device-specific reviews.
Unlike some other movie-based Tag books (like Beauty & the Beast and Tinkerbell), this one doesn't try to cram the whole movie's plot into a book. It just tells the initial story of Flounder and Ariel searching the sunken ship for treasure and getting away from the shark. My daughter liked that because it was almost perfectly in line with that part of the movie (something that some kids might not care about, but it really matters to her!). The story is brief but it's not any shorter than it should be just long enough to tell the story, which makes it short and sweet yet complete. Then it finishes with four games featuring Cinderella (one with _r consonant blends dr, br, tr, fr, and pr and the other on vowel recognition) and Jasmine (one with -s plurals and one using location-based vocabulary).
This one is one of our favorites!
it goes everywhere she goes....EVERYWHERE.
With one exception...while she takes a bath
the book sits on top of the comole lid.

Crack & Chirp Eggs Reviews
This is a excellent product and would recommend to everyone. Toy is a lot of fun I purchased the Hide N squeak Eggs and the Crack and Chirp Eggs just to see what the difference was and the only difference I found was the "Tomy" Hide N Squeak Eggs are priced at double the price of Crack N Chirp but does the exact same thing.....
I would highly recommend to everyone.
My daughter loves this toy, and has played with it almost daily since Easter. Sometimes she throws the eggs off her high chair tray and onto the hardwood floors beneath, but they've held up just fine. The price on this toy can't be beat, for what it is... love the different learning aspects: fit the shells' shaped bases into appropriate egg cup, fit the shell "lids" on top, and eventually, maybe figure out that she can match the different faces on the shells to the faces on the chicks, and have the faces peeking out of the openings in the carton. Again, great toy. I think it'd be a good match for toddlers between age 1 & 3.
I would highly recommend to everyone.

I bought these eggs for my 1.5 years old so she can have "pretend eggs" for her toy kitchen. These eggs are good size, and bright white with colorful little birds inside. The birds chirp very softly when pressed. The bottom part of each egg has a unique shape (star, triangle etc.) that match the egg carton. The egg shells break in a nice zigzag line mimicking broken egg shell. My problem with this product is that the top part of the eggs fall off to the slightest touch and that is why I only rated two stars for this product. The shells just fall off, and this is not fun at all. In order to play with these eggs as pretend eggs it needs to be possible to remove them from the carton with the top shell still on, and then detach the top shell. But that is not possible even for me let alone for a toddler. Perhaps the manufacturer intention for this toy was to match the bottom part of the eggs to the box, and then carefully place the tops on the eggs. My daughter wasn't very interested in doing that and just throw the shells around.Best Deals for Crack & Chirp Eggs
Definitely a hit at easter with my 1.5 yr old and her cousin. The squeak isn't loud but sometimes quieter toys are appreciated in our house.Honest reviews on Crack & Chirp Eggs
My daughter likes this toy. It's bright and colorful, and fun to put together. The birds don't really "chirp" or squeak that loudly though.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Crack & Chirp Eggs
Purchased this about 5 weeks ago, for my toddler's Easter Basket. Purchased because of the eggs/Easter connection, and also I remembered loving something sort of similar from my grandma's toy closet when I was a kid (her set was like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Small-World-Express-Egg-Shape-Sorter/dp/B00000IUA0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1368211811&sr=8-3&keywords=egg+toy).My daughter loves this toy, and has played with it almost daily since Easter. Buy Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs
When I was thinking of buying this set, I was wondering why it was so expensive. But as I was categorizing all pieces I found out. Many of the items are authentic, miniature sizes. Not to mention that they included quite the assortment of items. For example, a real, Erasermate eraser was included for the 'E' container. A real bell, a real notebook, a metal pan, etc. The only items that were not authentic, were items like a xylophone, that would be impossible or too costly to be made real. These types of items are vinyl.I am a pre-primary teacher and teach children ages 3-6 and all the children LOVE this toy! We play games where we take out 2 or 3 tubs at a time, identify the objects and place them in a pile. Each child will take turns picking an object and deciding which tub it goes into. If they have difficulty I give them hints such as the beginning letter sounds or for the very young, I'll ask, is this a "Rrrr" rrrrobot, or a "T" Tobot? They think it's funny. When I get these phonics tubs out before you know it I have a crowd of children wanting to play. We have had this toy for YEARS and even the children that have mastered their letter sounds still love to play with it. I always have a teacher monitor it so that we don't end up with lost or missing items. However, when I ordered it they sent me a form so that you can always reorder any items that become lost for a small fee.

Cheap Eeboo Time Telling Game
I just bought this as a birthday present for my just-turned-4-year-old and he *loves* it. It's designed to be used at various levels -you can select color-coded cards depending on what your child already knows: to the hour, half-hour, etc. He can play it on his own and self-check by comparing the time he set on his clock to the one on the card. We haven't yet played by the official rules with keeping score, but we have a lot of fun with it. It's very durable and I expect it to last so I can use it with his little sister when the time comes!
There are 4 large clocks in different designs so that up to 4 players can join. There is a stack of playing card which are color coded. One side of the card shows the time on a digital clock and the time is also spelled out in words. The player selects a card and then sets the specified time his or her large analog clock. Once finished, the selected card is turned over and the correct setting for the listed time on the analog clock is shown. Players get points for correct responses.
The time cards are color coded so that you can select to only use cards with specified difficulty. For example, the red cards show only time on the hour (8:00, 9:00 etc.) This way you can change to more difficult levels as your child gets better. Once you master on the hour you can progress to the half hour and 5 minute cards. Seems to work well as a teaching tool. It includes a pad for keeping score.
Only issue I could see is that the clock boards are made of cardboard. The clock arms are connected to the clock faces with a rivet. They might bend or wear out with rough play. I have not had an issue yet but have only had mine two weeks and a plastic practice clock can easily fill in.

Honest reviews on Eeboo Time Telling Game
My four-year-old son has shown an interest in learning how to tell time for a while. We tried different things, but anything past the o'clocks confused him. So we bought this game -and I'm so glad we did! Like all Eeboo products, it's high-quality, colorful, and a pleasure to look at and touch. The four different clocks (for four players) are all different kinds -grandfather, alarm, pocket watch, and cuckoo. They're all beautiful. The best thing about the game is that it's leveled -we reviewed the o'clocks, then added the half-pasts. He caught on very quickly and was very proud. I highly recommend this game to anyone learning to tell time -in fact, I think I'll buy another one for my brother-in-law, who's always had trouble with analogs!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Eeboo Time Telling Game
Played this game today for the first time with my Kindergartner who is almost six. We used the easiest level and it was fun for him and gave him confidence in telling time. You roll the dice and hop around on six different scene cards collecting treasure. Its cute and a lot of fun for this age. Highly recommend!I am a speech therapist that works with preschool age children. They all LOVE this game! We use it for turn taking, articulation practice ("arrrr!"), and talking about what the pirates are doing as they go around the board. It comes in a small box, doesn't have too many pieces, and doesn't take too long to play. The rules are easy enough for preschool children to understand and remember. I give this game a giant thumbs up!

Review of Bake Me A Cake Oven Mitt
My little guy loves to put my oven mitt on when I am cooking, so when I got him this one in his size, he was thrilled! He puts it on and feels like he is part of the action!!Very cute oven mitt for role-playing. I got it for my toddler and it's a bit on the large size for her, but I expect it to last for several years. I wish there were more prints and colors available, and also a smaller size for toddlers.

Buy Melissa & Doug My First Book of Animals
My 18 month old daughter over the past two months really started to love animals. Seeing this item, I just couldn't past up the chance. She loves pulling the animals out of the pages, walking around with them and making the sounds they would make. Hasn't quiet grasped the concept of putting them back where they belong but that's were I come in to try to teach her. I lay out all the pieces and ask her, "Where is the zebra?" If she doesn't know, I'll pick it up and tell her then I put it back into it's rightful slot. Eventually, she'll know all the animals so we'll make a different game out of it. I'm guessing that in several months, she'll know where each animal goes and to put them back so they will fit.
I highly recommend this product. I do agree with the previous review about including forest animals instead of the dinos. But it still rates 5 stars for us.

Both of my kids love this toy. My two year old got it for her first Christmas and my second child just discovered it and also loves it. I love that it has both the play and the sleep modes and that it is noise activated to help lull the kids back to sleep. I only have one complaint-it goes though all the quiet and soothing and just when your child relaxes it says "Bye-Bye" quite loudly. What's the point in being quiet and relaxing if it's just going to wake them back up for you? Other than that it is a wonderful toy.

I bought this bee after watching my three month old play with it at my sisters and immediately taking to it. She LOVES her bee and she quickly learned how to push the button in the middle. The bee plays music and has a voice of a little girl which mesmerizes my little one. It has a day and night mode. The night mode is great to calm my daughter down. She does a pretty good job of holding onto it in her bouncy chair. She loves to chew on her antenna and she quickly learned to reach for the bee. It is the first thing she ever reached for big milestone. I would definitely recommend this bee as a first toy.Best Deals for VTech - Touch and Learn Musical Bee
My 5 month old is still too little to push the buttons or to really benefit from it educationally, but it is really helping with sleep training. We keep it switched to night mode in her crib at night and when she cries it automatically comes on and plays soothing music which really helps her fall back asleep. I was really concerned because after it plays a few minutes of soothing music it says "Bye-bye!" loudly before turning off! What a poor design! Thankfully it doesn't seem to bother her! It seems like it will be a nice educational/play toy as she gets older. It does interest her a bit at this age and she likes chewing on the wings or crinkling them with her hand.Honest reviews on VTech - Touch and Learn Musical Bee
The Musical Bee arrived on time and in good condition. Unfortunately, it didn't hold my grandson'sattention very long. I would recommend it for kids that like stuffed toys, however. Did everything
as described, cute toy.

This is my grand childs favorite toy she got for Christmas. The music is very soothing. Not loud. The wings make a crackling sound when she touches them or squeezes them. She's 5 months old and loves it!Thursday, August 14, 2014
Discount Playskool Alphie Data Bots - Maestro-Bot
I had to buy three toys similar toys so the kids wouldn't fight over them. This is one of those toys that they go back to repeatedly and is interesting enough to keep their attention for a half hour or so.
The voice can get irritating to adults after awhile (particularly when three are talking at once), but not as bad as some other toys.
Good for teaching colors, music, shapes, and sequencing memory. You flip the knob on the left and the robot does something different like show you how to play a song.
I recommend removing it from it's container (not easy) and replacing the batteries. The batteries on one of my purchases went dead before I took it out of the box.

Our 18 month old kept grabbing his big brother's Alphie, but we had to hide the cards that go with that one so he wouldn't destroy them. He also loves music, so we decided to get him this toy so he could have his own robot to carry around, and its perfect. He can't take advantage of all the educational aspects yet at his age, but he loves this toy and can grow with it. It is smaller than the original Alphie, which was good for us, but be aware if that will be disappointing for you.Best Deals for Playskool Alphie Data Bots - Maestro-Bot
The Alphie Maestro-Bot is a great choice for children ages 2-4. My 2 1/2 year old son can follow the directions and make music on his own.Honest reviews on Playskool Alphie Data Bots - Maestro-Bot
The seller should test these type of items before sending them out to the customer...it has a try me button and it did not work--at all...changed batteries, still nothing!Try at your own risk...

I am SO suprised on how great this toy is! At first i didnt know all of the functions so i thought it was just another annoying toy that my daughter could torture me with, but now that i have actually sat down and investigated the toy it is really quite awesome. The eyes move with a little knob on the side of its head to reveal music to play with a "match the colors". It teaches kids 3 songs to play, colors, shapes, and has different instrument modes and a "repeat" button on the top of the head. Definitly a toy i feel great about my daughter playing with even though it's loud. A+
