My son is 20 months and has been fascinated with "buckles" since he turned a year. He loves to buckle car seats, high chairs and anything else he can find! Thankfully, he doesn't know how to unbuckle yet! I decided to search Amazon for a "buckle toy" as Amazon has everything!! Well, this "Buster" the buckle toy came up. While it is a little pricey, my son loves it! I first introduced it during his 18 month check-up at the pediatrician. The doctor asked me what this toy was and said "I need to buy 10 for the office." He was amazed at how engaged my son was with the toy and it has been a great "life-saver" toy ever since. We bring it in the car, in restaurants or other places I'd like to keep my son busy and entertained quietly. Love this toy!

This keeps my 18 month old busy in her car seat or grocery cart. Some of the buckles are easier than others so now that she has mastered some others are still challenging. It's small size makes it an easy toy to bring places.

Touch Reading Pen English-Chinese (Books Not Included) Reviews

We just got this pen (the E2003 version) a couple days ago, and we like it very much. It is very easy for my four year old son to use himself, simple off/on, touch to the logo on the book cover to sync the pen to the individual book, touch the pen to the visual volume controls inside any book to set it from very quiet to quite loud.

It doesn't use batteries but rather is recharged by plugging in the USB cable (used for uploading the audio files which are available from cd that comes with the books, or downloadable at ereadbook online) into an adapter that plugs into any electrical socket. Needs recharging after a few days (about 6 hours) for under 3 hours. When the pen is left without using for a couple minutes, it reminds you, and if you don't interact with it, it has autoshutoff.

The pen is very light to hold, and comes with a lanyard for the neck so your child won't drop it. It has been dropped a couple times already and seems to be quite solidly made.

There is a large variety of materials available for the pen, from wall posters to "radio plays" (there is a long long Monkey King radio play that comes on little credit-card sized cards that come with the pen) to dictionaries and longer books, suitable for kids from toddlers to preteens and beyond. The voices in the pen are quite clear, and range from cutesie animal voices and small children, to men and women, so you get a whole variety. I find this pen to be great to practice our listening comprehension and also to learn how to properly pronounce words and sentences in Chinese. I am not sure if this particular set on Amazon comes with eight books, but the set we got did, and they cover math (adding, subtraction, multiplication etc) in Chinese, English (one letter per page, with words and sentences and poems that are said by a native english speaker and repeated in Chinese), games, fairy tales (these read whole paragraphs at a time, so not so great for newbie Chinese students), Chinese tales and fables (ditto), music (has nursery rhymes and little ditties as well as pages about different musical instruments), Science (short sections on different topics), Beginning chinese characters. So one doesn't really need to get other books right away to try out the pen.

There is also an "Easy Readbook" digital book that comes in the Starter Kit (E2003), that has a lot of audio files. Unfortunately all the instructions are only in Chinese so I can't get the most out of it.

All in all, we love this pen, and find it very good for both entertainment and education. We look forward to getting even more books (see my reviews under 600 Words books and English Chinese dictionary)

Received this in the mail a few days ago. I was having trouble getting my two year old to draw lines on a piece of paper. We're not talking "hey sweetie, here's some chalk, have at it!" we're talking can you draw a line from point "a" to point "b"? Maybe she is a bit young, not sure, but she just couldn't do the pencil/pen/crayon thing. I found this and thought we'd give it a try. BRILLIANT! Hands on and exactly what she needed to "see" what I was talking about. We use her finger to trace on the card and then we do it in the sand together and then I let her try it on her own. No saying, "that's not right" but letting her try and envision the card and the lines on it. She seems to do much better with just a few days try. Definitely glad I invested in this the materials are all very sound and durable, I especially like the quality of the wood and the cards (laminated). Sand can be colored, which gives it more appeal for the younger ages. All in all, a great addition to our at-home montessori class room.

There is a vinyl flap on the top which is easy for little toddler hands to go in and out. It doesn't scratch up Kenzie's hands either. We love the adorable barn with 4 mommy (or daddy) animals and 4 matching baby animals; horse, cow, duck, and pig (though we'd love to have even more animals). Vinyl flaps over the opening at the top of the barn keep kids from peeking to see what animal they're grabbing out of the barn. This game offers many ways to have fun while learning, such as practicing animal sounds, matching, and big vs little. It also enhances tactile and sensory awareness.

It was fun to watch my toddler reach in and show total shock and excitement at what he pulled out. At 2 years old he knows his animals and animal sounds, but it was still fun to encourage him to make the sounds of the animals as they appeared from the barn. I tried getting him to tell me which animal he felt and guess what it was before he pulled it out of the barn, but he wasn't always interested; Being a typical 2-year old, he was willing to cooperate at first when I tried getting him to do things with the animalslike matching up the mommy and baby animalsbut after a few minutes he was ready to just play with it all. It's been great for learning play AND free play, and I love knowing he's safe with it because of the larger pieces!

The above description reads as though you get the 6 models. This is not so... You get 1 and it is whatever they send you. The first time we got the tooth and gum model. The second time they sent the chest model.

The item itself is in a red translucent box, a little bigger than a Rubik's Cube. It is pretty weighty, which leads me to think that it is of a higher quality than I thought it would be. I have not opened the red box, because I bought this as a Christmas present. I wish it had been sold as a set or individually with your choice of model. I probably would not have picked the ones I received. But who knows maybe my son will really dig the tooth model;)

I bought this for my son's birthday, which followed Christmas by a couple of weeks, and this is probably the most fun of the Planet Heroes toys. It's not featured much in the DVDs/movies or on the web site, so that's a small liability, but all in all it's a great toy.

The little cycle that Zip comes with is great and rolls very easily. And Zip attaches very easily to it as well. His other accessories don't do anything but kids can pretent and there's no little "bullets" or "darts" to lose!

The figure is the smallest (as is the planet very cool) so fits easily into the other Planet Heroes toys. If you only buy one action figure (and I don't have them all yet, so can't say for certain) and your kid has no idea of one from the other, then I would suggest buying Zip.

But I'd recommend careful shopping -I bought it from Toys R Us for $8.95.

This entertains my 6 month old because it plays a melody and the top half moves from side to side. Unfortunately it lasts only about 15 seconds so you have to constantly press the feet for the music to turn on again. We don't use it much now because its annoying to constantly press it for the music to turn on, but perhaps later on down the road she'll learn to press the feet herself to turn it on. Also, it only plays one melody (with giggling) and there is no adjustment in volume. I give it 3 stars for now and will update if my child plays with it more in the near future.

This little dancing ant gets my little dancing boy moving too. He really likes this toy. It is a very simple little toy, push his foot and he moves back and forth and plays music for a short period of time, but it's perfect for a short attention span. It is cute and a good size for little hands (my son is 11 months old)...he grabs Antsy by the antenna and drags him around. I definitely recommend this little guy!

So you may have seen the commercials for the Test tube Alien.That is the exact reason i tried this thing out.When i got it, it was cooler than i expected.

This thing is a acually kinda complecated.when you get the tube, the alien is inside a white egg thing which i dont know is made of.To hatch the alien, you must add water by pouring it through the feeding hatch and the egg disolves and sizzles out, like baking soda and vinigar.

Then, you will se its heart beat (Blinking light on Head) It will probebly be blinking green, after this, orange.When the heart is green it means the alien is drowning, it blinked green because when you were emptying the egg stuff with water the the top of the entenas got wet.So yes, if the top of its entenas get wet, the heart will blink green, and in "Testtube aliens" case, this is abuse.But it will stop blinking green once entenas dry.And orange meens the alien is starving.Witch means the water level is to low.How to keep it from blinking gren or orange? So now you have to mix this food stuff called "Sloog" with water and pour it into the tube.Fill it up untill it reaches half way up the entanes.Then, the light will blink RED.Red=good.

So for 3 days you feed the alien sloog, then it will survive just on tap.

The alien grows up to 8 times its size i beleve.

There is a little more stuff to the alien but youl have to get an alien yourself to find that out, but ive covered the basics.

I bought these aliens for my son, he watched it grow and in about 2 months he was bored with it. We had to keep giving it water and he was never able to play with it, take it out of the tube or touch it. It was the biggest waste of money ever.

This is one of the coolest manipulative toys for education that I have ever seen. I worked with the PTA of the elementary school that my daughter attended and if I had known about this product back then I would have recommended that the PTA purchase some of them for the early classes.

They are thin sticks approximately six inches long that can be bent into shapes and then restored. What sets them apart from pipe cleaners is that they stick to nearly all surfaces. When I read that characteristic in the documentation, I tried sticking them to nearly everything in my home office, the only surface that was questionable was the plastic case of my monitor.

My daughter was playing with these at school so I decided to reinforce at home. There are many cards and Stix. The Stix seem to loss their sticky pretty fast and crimp up. We are using the cards to trace on now. Overall a good educational toy but probably need to buy extra Stix.

I used these for a lesson with 4th graders. Some of the teeth are very nice samples. Most, however, seem to be from the same shark species and are a bit too small to use for the lesson. Although I wasn't too impressed, the students did like to look at the different teeth and handle them.

As another reviewer pointed out, this item is not blanket size in any way. It is truly wash cloth size, with 7.5" side to side square. The 14x11 given dimensions is from front corner to tip of the tail and side corner to corner IF stretching the material. Is it cute? Yes, it is, but more like $5-7 cute, not $15 cute. Labeling this item as a Blanket Puppet friend is a dupe, and should be classified as false advertisement, especially with the very misleading dimensions provided. Wouldn't not recommend due to the price at all.

As a 3rd grade teacher looking for a way to incorporate an independent math center in my classroom while I work with small groups, Hot Dots fits perfectly. I love the way students can figure out the answer, then check to see if they are correct. Feedback is immediate and my class loves working with them. Whichever unit we might be working on (perimeter, multiplication, estimation, etc.) I can use the Hot Dots to supplement. I highly recommend these to other teachers, or even parents who want to help their child but aren't sure how or where to get materials.
