This kit was a lot of fun to put together, the soldering was simple (all through-hole components), and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I haven't finished working through all the programs/lessons yet (they are time consuming to enter, but that's to be expected given the data entry method setting memory addresses and values with switches). Working through the program entries requires a good understanding of hex -> binary mapping, but I think that is covered in the included instruction booklet.

I know it says its a kit in the product description but, unless you want to make hundreds of fine solder joints, avoid this guy. I bought it for my nephew without realizing this fact. I ended up gibing it away after doing the first several steps myself as it became more of a job than fun.

I bought this for my 26-month-old grandson. He loves it and plays with it a lot. One of the best things about it is the magnetic connector for the wagon to be attached to the tractor. It stays connected, unlike the cheap plastic connections on cheaper toys. Very good quality and highly recommended.

I love Chewy Tubes and we never leave home without one. My daughter has a genetic disorder and is delayed mentally and physically. She also has many hallmark behaviors of Autism (although the Neurologist and Psychiatrist seem to be at odds with each other on actually diagnosing her officially with Autism). She wants to chew constantly on everything. When she doesn't have something to chew on, she will grind her teeth, which sometimes really makes people upset when we are out in public. Anyway, we thread a Chewy through a ribbon or something similar to create a necklace and it has almost completely eliminated her grinding in public. We also send her to school with one so she will stop putting dirty toys and other germ-infested items in her mouth. I realize that her Chewy also gets dirty, but I can wash it with some handsoap, drop it into the dishwasher, or disinfect it with a cleaner (and then thoroughly rinse). As for biting through the Chewy, it does eventually happen. I am not sure there is a product out there that many of our children couldn't chew through! When I see some of the tip coming apart, I just cut it and she starts over. It seems to take a lot of time (weeks) for her to get to that point. I also don't worry that they are are choking hazard as much as I did with pacifiers. Don't misunderstand, children should always be supervised with anything in their mouth. I hope this review has helped some of my fellow "Special Needs Moms"!

Chewy Tubes are very useful for children and adults who need to have something in their mouths. We use them daily with several children in our program, and it helps them meet their needs safely. I recommend these to families several times a month. If the Chewy Tube is being chewed up, it is not the right one, try one with more resistance. They are graded by width and toughness. You should be working with your Speech or Occupational Therapist to select the one right for your needs.

My son is consistently putting his fingers in his mouth, with this toy he's putting his hands in his mouth as much he really enjoy chewing on. My husband did have to cut a little off the stem (feared that he would choke on it) but other then a long stem I would definitely recommended this toy to parents who child likes to have something in their mouth!!!

I bought this product to relieve my 7 yr old son's biting/sensory issues. He is on the autism spectrum. It lasted only 3 weeks. He was able to bite off the outer rings very quickly. We cut them off completely before he had the chance to possibly swallow them. I cannot recommend this product. It should be improved and then they should do market/field testing to make sure it is durable enough for children like my son....

This diary is very nice and cute in appearance. It was purchased for my 7 year old. The only problem I have with it is the lock. It is difficult for me and my husband to get it lined up just right so that it can be locked. Other than the lock, it is pretty inside and out.

Nothing too incredibly fancy, the cover is GORGEOUS, and the lock is cute. It's just an ordinary journal that has a good cover on it. It's not cheaply made either, it would make a GREAT gift.

I bought this for my daughters first birthday after seeing how much she loved playing with the Melissa & Doug cardboard ones a friend had. I was looking for some that were wood so they would be much more durable and these have been perfect. My daughter loves stacking them, putting them in each other, carrying them around, and using individual boxes to put her treasures in :) I love that they are Eco-friendly and non-toxic and seem to be very well made. I bought this for my two year old niece. I bought the package for the flashcards, which actually only go to the number 18--but there are the numerical digits 1-18, and then the numbers spelled out alphabetically. I would have liked it more if it had just been the numerical values that go to higher digits like I assumed , but she will one day learn how to spell the numbers so I'm ok with the purchase. The workbook was an added bonus, but is beyond my niece at the moment, so is being saved for later. She loves Mickey's Clubhouse, so I was expecially excited to find these Mickey's Clubhouse flash cards. Overall a worthwhile purchase.

We used to use hemacytometers for counting cells for tissue culture in my old lab. Everybody hates them right? Finally one of our postdocs told the lab manager that his previous lab would use these things for cell counting. They're faster than a hemacytometer because you don't have to count as many squares. The package comes with instructions on how to calculate cell counts based on how many grid squares you look at and the cell density. They're intended for urinalysis but who cares. Each slide has 10 grids and there are 50 in the box so that's 500 counts. Hemacytometers cost an arm and a leg if you accidentally drop and break yours. These things are less than USD 1 per slide. Very worthwhile.

I bought "Leap and the Lost Dinosaur" for my kindergartner and he absolutely LOVES it. His favorite part is the page at the end which includes several clear plastic pockets in which he inserts the included dinosaur cards to hear how certain dinosaurs might have interacted if they came in contact. I gave my son a snack-size resealable bag to store his cards in so they're less likely to become "extinct"! The folks at LeapPad thoughtfully included a "wild card" that can function as any of the dinosaurs in the collection in case one (or more) of the cards should happen to go missing. I am completely satisfied with this addition to our growing LeapPad library.

All but two pages of the book will work just fine even if all of the cards are missing .

It might be best if reviews were based on actual experience and not assumptions made by people who "almost bought the book"

My boys ages 6 and 3 love this book. It is different in that there is a deck of cards included that can be inserted in the back of the book and then the child can learn different facts about different dinosaurs...ie...how fast...when did he exist...how much did he eat. They love this part, "runs as fast as a chicken" "big as an elephant" it allows them to make a comparison to something they know.

My son loved this book so much that he got up at 6 a.m. the next day (lucky me!) just to play with it. And unlike most toys, this one has stayed close by and been used frequently since then. So this would have been a bargain even at full price. At this discounted price, WOW!

My review of this item is mixed. On the plus side, my kids were very excited to try this quick sand experiment. It comes with a pretty nifty explanation of how this mixture is neither solid nor liquid, and so that's a worthwhile lesson to teach. And it does feel weird. It feels wet but it's not. It becomes powdery and dry but it's a liquid. BUT it turns out it's nothing more than a bag of cornstarch which you mix with water. And for which you've paid close to $8. The kids were a bit disappointed because it didn't feel or look like what they expected it to....actual quicksand. And it's really, really messy.I would recommend you do this OUTSIDE as you can't pour it down the sink or even really wash your hands in the sink. We used wet paper towels and then kept rubbing our hands until it basically disappeared. So you can do the same thing at home with cornstarch and water but you won't have the nifty box and explanation of solids and liquids.The two plastic animals were fine but we used lots of our own figures to play with.

My sons B Man and J received Jungle Quicksand as a gift this past Christmas. This is very cool gooey fun for kids ages 8 and older. The boys were very excited to do this project and enjoyed it a lot. They loved playing jungle and making their animals shiver in fear of crossing the ooey, gooey Quicksand. It was so much fun getting messy and amazing how it only took water to get clean. The instructions are very detailed and guide you step by step as you create this cute jungle scene.

This Jungle Quicksand is an example of what is called a Non-Newtonian fluid-a fluid that defies Isaac Newton's law of viscosity. All fluids have this property. Viscosity is a fluid's measurable thickness or resistance to flow.

Newton stated that the viscosity (thickness) of a fluid can be changed only by altering the fluid's temperature. For example, motor oil and honey both flow more easily when you warm them up and they become very thick when they get cold. A Non-Newtonian fluid has the same dependence on temperature but, its viscosity can also be changed by applying pressure. When you squeeze a handful of this gooey Quicksand, its viscosity increases so, it acts like a solid for a split second. When you release the pressure, the glop behaves like a liquid again.

This is a great little science kit that also teaches just how quicksand works and how to escape it if you ever find yourself trapped! This Jungle Quicksand kit even comes with a list other activities you can do with it. The options are to change the color of the Quicksand, write a story about the jungle world you created and it tells you how you can create your own real quicksand at home using a large tub, water and sand.

Jungle Quicksand comes with a page of safety information for the supervising adult which is very informative. Be very sure to read how this must be discarded! Jungle Quicksand Cool Science kit was created by Steve Spangler and sold by Be Amazing Toys.

If you have ever watched The Big Bang Theory, you may have seen this glop dancing on a large speaker. They covered the sub-woofer in plastic wrap and the vibrations caused the glop to react in such a way that it appeared to be dancing. My sons love watching the white glop dance, as they call it!

I never bought this kind of case with the LeapPad or the LeapPad 2 because I had heard nothing but bad reviews, the main one being the zippers were really hard to zip. So when the LeapPad Ultra came out, I was bummed to see that there were no other carrying cases available. Knowing I needed a case, I ordered it anyways. I'm so glad I did. They seem to be made better than the ones for the original LeapPads. The zipper is easy for my children to open by themselves. It hold 6 games (more if you don't mind putting two games in one holder. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a case for the Ultra!

This bag is very durable and made with strong material. There are holders for the games but I wish there was a strap or something to hold the Leap Pad Ultra in so that when you unzip it, it won't just fall out. So be very careful when opening because it slides around a lot & that extra protection would be helpful. Even with the gel case on there is still wiggle room. Since there is so much space on the other side, I wish it included the net pocket like the Leap Pad 2 case to fit a few accessories in it considering its size.

I work in a toy store and we sell Geomags. Let me tell you, they are almost impossible to keep in stock. They are very very very strong, and are quite addictive. You can build immense towers, perpetual motion machines (almost), tops, and lots of things that spin. By connecting two spheres you can spin any shape! One sphere can suppost at least nineteen other pieces. This is a great toy, they are heavy duty, and built tough. If you're into a building type toy, or like to explore physics, or need a really neat desk toy, this is it.

I purchased the 42 piece set for my 5yr old sister; she loves it, and is clamoring for more sets.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING SMALLER THAN THE 42 PIECE SET! Once you (or your young friend) start playing with it, they'll demand more pieces!

This is an excellent learning toy, with applications in everything from physics to geometry. I highly recommend it for kids (and I'm a 22yr old one) of all ages.
