Review of SMALL CHEWY TUBE YELLOW

I love Chewy Tubes and we never leave home without one. My daughter has a genetic disorder and is delayed mentally and physically. She also has many hallmark behaviors of Autism (although the Neurologist and Psychiatrist seem to be at odds with each other on actually diagnosing her officially with Autism). She wants to chew constantly on everything. When she doesn't have something to chew on, she will grind her teeth, which sometimes really makes people upset when we are out in public. Anyway, we thread a Chewy through a ribbon or something similar to create a necklace and it has almost completely eliminated her grinding in public. We also send her to school with one so she will stop putting dirty toys and other germ-infested items in her mouth. I realize that her Chewy also gets dirty, but I can wash it with some handsoap, drop it into the dishwasher, or disinfect it with a cleaner (and then thoroughly rinse). As for biting through the Chewy, it does eventually happen. I am not sure there is a product out there that many of our children couldn't chew through! When I see some of the tip coming apart, I just cut it and she starts over. It seems to take a lot of time (weeks) for her to get to that point. I also don't worry that they are are choking hazard as much as I did with pacifiers. Don't misunderstand, children should always be supervised with anything in their mouth. Chewy Tubes are very useful for children and adults who need to have something in their mouths. We use them daily with several children in our program, and it helps them meet their needs safely. I recommend these to families several times a month. If the Chewy Tube is being chewed up, it is not the right one, try one with more resistance. They are graded by width and toughness. You should be working with your Speech or Occupational Therapist to select the one right for your needs.

My son is consistently putting his fingers in his mouth, with this toy he's putting his hands in his mouth as much he really enjoy chewing on. My husband did have to cut a little off the stem (feared that he would choke on it) but other then a long stem I would definitely recommended this toy to parents who child likes to have something in their mouth!!!

I bought this product to relieve my 7 yr old son's biting/sensory issues. He is on the autism spectrum. It lasted only 3 weeks. He was able to bite off the outer rings very quickly. We cut them off completely before he had the chance to possibly swallow them. I cannot recommend this product. It should be improved and then they should do market/field testing to make sure it is durable enough for children like my son....

It eealy works well! Our big lil goy loves both ... The yellow and red ones... the red ones better now that he is a little older.
