Chicco Toys Talking Vacation Car Reviews

My son got this toy for Christmas almost 2 months ago. This is the only toy that he has consistently played with for hours and hours. He LOVES this toy and he even adores the little suitcase that opens into a book (and comes with the car). I give it to him at diaper change time so he doesn't squirm too much. TWO BIG THUMBS UP!!

My 2 year old got this for Christmas 2009. He still loves to play with it and it is now September 2010. He like the riddle mode now and trying to find the right item. My 11 month old has now found it and loves to play with it too. They both love the little song it sings and that it does actually roll. I love that it has a time out function so it isn't a battery eating toy. My boys have dropped this car and sat on it and it is still in excellent condition. Made with very durable plastic.

My son loves cars and trucks and toys that have buttons and make sounds, so we bought this as a Christmas present. While he plays with it from time to time, he isn't as thrilled about this toy as I thought he'd be. I thought it'll be his favorite with all that cool buttons to press and that cute smiley face on the car. But then, he's not even two years old, so I have not given up! We're holding on to this toy for a little while...especially that we paid a lot for it!

Despite my son's lack of enthusiasm towards this toy, I give it four stars because it is durable, educational, and cool-looking. The down side is the price. There are other toys that cost just as much or even less that functions just the same.

I think this is way too expensive. We purchased this for our son's Christmas gift. He played with it for about two days then lost interest. It's bulk and takes up so much space in his toy chest. I don't like the fact that the English/Spanish button can be easily pressed by your toddler. Save your money and purchase something else.

We purchased the Chicco Talking Vacation Car for our son when he was about 8 months old. He is now 18 months old and still enjoys playing with it. This toy has taken a beating from our son and it looks like new. The only part that shows any wear is the little suitcase that opens like a book, and that even looks pretty good considering it's 10 months old.

The Sky Scraper is a very entertaining toy that really delivers. The spinners fit on the top of the handle and a strong pull on the built in self retracting cord sends the spinner skyward for what seems to be an amazing height easily 100 ft. or so. This is accomplished because the spinners have three support ribs that function as mini-propellers. This toy appears to be well made and should provide many trouble free hours of entertainment. I have no negatives regarding this toy, but you should know that on a windy day the spinner may drift quite a ways and if there are trees or roofs nearby you're likely to lose the spinner. Aeromax sells a separate package that just includes the spinners.

You should know, this is a small puzzle, the dimensions are clearly stated above: 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches

However, once you expect it to be small, you will see that it is perfect! My 2.5 yo still sits rear facing in her carseat and this is the perfect thing to hold in her lap while we drive. It is several puzzles in one for more fun. Or, as your child gets older and develops a sense of humor, she can give the cow a pig foot or some other combination.

My child rarely plays with this in the house. In fact, we usually leave it in the car, where she will play with it for our entire 20 minute drive to town and then pick it back up for the drive home. We've had it for a year and all the pieces still look great.

I bought this as a gift for a 2 year old. It took the boy about 6 months to "get" it. Finally they sent me a photo of them at a restaurant playing with the blocks. The report was that he loves it! It is VERY small so it makes a great take along toy!

This microscope it a joy to use. It is almost as good as some of the microscopes I used while a researcher. It is definitely better than anything my high school students had. The mechanical stage is sturdy and glides smoothly and makes looking at specimens so much more enjoyable. Using the microscope I have been able to identify a few plant pests (microscopic mites) that were killing my house plants. I could even clearly seen internal organelle of a cheek cell. It is great quality and has wonderful magnification lens.

My precocious granddaughter wanted a microscope for Christmas, so I bought her one at a big box toy store. When I looked through the scope, I could see it was useless. I returned it immediately. I read all the reviews about the different scopes available, called AmScope(readily accessible), and made the decision to buy this model. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased my family is with the AmScope 40x-2000x. My son, an engineer, said the microscope was better than the one they use at his plant. The whole family is involved and enjoying the new world view!! In fact I am going to buy another one for me and my other granddaughter.

This is a 'toy' for supervised use by my almost-five-year-old. He loves it. Cheaper models were made of plastic, were very light, or had poor viewing aspects. This has ALL of the magnifications that I used in high school (and college, actually), including an oil-immersion lens! This comes with a mechanical stage and slide clip, which is SO helpful when trying to find the best spot for viewing (instead of bumping the slide at high magnifications and completely losing the thing you're looking for). It also comes with 10x and 20x eyepieces, although it looks like you have to remove a small screw to exchange them (probably a good idea, though). Upper end of what a microscope should have, including a high-quality diaphragm instead of the cheaper ones with holes of various sizes to turn and change how much light gets through. VERY impressed with what I got (I paid $150). Only bummer was that it didn't come with some slides and coverslips, so we had to wait a little while to use it (not the microscope's faultthey aren't supposed to be included; *make sure to buy some though). Together, these kept my kid entertained forever! Big note thoughif that's something they like, you might really want to get some blanks so you can explore puddle water, your cheek cells, plant leaves, etc).

Great great microscope. Much better than what I'd hoped for. Please spend the extra money on one that's quality. Don't get one with a mirror for a light source, or that is made of plastic (you'll be very disappointed in the lens quality), or that uses only a battery (there's a reason this has a big fat cord, and it's because the light is nice and bright!). It's a whole lot easier to learn on a quality piece of equipment and then dumb it down if necessary, than to always have to try to figure out new things because you've been taught on something much simpler and of lower quality (well, that's my opinion, anyway...it IS a review!).

Very impressed with the quality. I was expecting mid grade, but was suprised. I'm in basic biology classes in college and this microscope, though not the same grade, but it is pretty close.

My daughter organized all the bugs by categories of which type of bug they were. Then she organized them by color. And then made patterns... blue red blue red etc. Now we use them as counters. She makes the bugs have conversations with each other. My husband sat down with her and made the spiders go to war against all the bugs. Men... sheesh. :0) Anyway, these are good quality durable but pliable material (rubber?) and are great fun for learning. There is the same number of each category; the manufacturers didn't just toss in a handful of bugs, so having the same number of each is nice for grouping multiplication facts.

These are big enough for toddlers to manipulate. I used them in my water (sensory) table for our bug theme. the children sorted by color and by bug. We introduced the spider was not a bug but would like to each the rest of his friends.

I got this for my son and husband. My husband wants to learn Spanish, so I thought this was a neat way to educate him and our 1 year old. The illustrations are simple and beautiful and we can easily flip through each flash card like a simple story book. My only complaint is that these aren't plastic coated. While my son enjoys 'reading' the flashcards with us he is still of an age where he puts things in his mouth. These are cardboard and don't hold up so well to toddler chewing.

My daughter knows a little Spanish. She could not wait to get her hands on these cards. She did not put it down until she mastered them. They were really fun which made it seem less like a chore. I also like that her baby brother can't spill them everywhere and wrinkle them. I'm here to look for similar ones!

These are fast becoming very well used in our house. I had purchased them to help my youngest daughters to work on their spatial recognition skills, but all my children and even my husband will spend HOURS putting the pattern block on the cards or using the cards as a guide and trying to build the picture on the table next to it. These have definitely been well worth the money spent. I would/will wholeheartedly recommend these to any one! {Actually came home the other night and my 14 and 18 year old nephews who were babysitting form me had been playing with them after my kiddos had gone to bed...I don't think they intended me to know about that ;)}

I received the item very quickly. It took no set up, accept for removing a piece of plastic from where the battery is located (I'm assuming this is for the clock portion). The blades started spinning the second I removed it from the box. Looks great! & It doesn't have the logo on it like it does on the picture, which I was very happy about as well. It has a solar panel on 3 sides.

Not very cost effective, but super cool.

After reading other reviews I understood that the turbine would not be moving in a fast pace. In direct sunlight the turbines would move. Unfortunately I only got about five months out of it before it stopped working altogether. The clock works but that runs on batteries.

This is one of those toys the little ones love. Their parents don't love it as much. My little one-year-old friend bops and dances and loves it. His mother thinks that's just awesome. His dad is annoyed with the annoying music. Sooner or later, his mom will be annoyed, too. I would buy this for someone else's child. Especially the child of someone who had bought something similar for my child.

I had high hopes when I bought this because my twins were just getting into toys that made sounds and they were really actively playing with similar toys. Unfortunately, they could care less about this one and it just sits on the floor.

The upside is that I would go crazy if they did like it because the sounds are very annoying. The best way to descrive the sounds would be to imagine a slot machine at a casino...fine when you are in Vegas but not the nursery. Also, this thing eats batteries fast.

Every child is different and you may find this to be a great toy, but I do not recommend it based on my experience.

I purchased this item after going to the website for Whisperphone. My ds has articulation problems and I've been using it as part of his speech therapy. First let me say, it works! It is not electronic, there are no batteries but it runs instead on the sound wave principle. Think tin can phone...Due to the narrow nature of the tube you speak through, it causes the sound waves to bounce up the tube to the ear. This magnifies the sound especially of vowels. The child can hear more clearly what they are saying. This is a plus to those who have speech delays, impeds or articulation problems. The only drawback so far is that it doesn't fit my son well. My dd who is older uses it when she is reading so that she will be able to hear better her own voice in a crowded room (she has 4 sibs!) It fits her perfectly and she's 10. My son, however, is 7 and it doesn't fit well. They need to make the headpiece adjustable (like a headphone for a CD player). So that the device can conform better to the head. Sometimes it hurts my son's ear as it uses a hook like feature that goes over the ears to keep it in place.

For a design upgrade, I'd say change the color...maybe something metallic as it has the feel of being a pop star's microphone...go with that as it will get the kids to WANT to wear it vs "ok, mom I'll get it ".

So if you can get past the color and your child isn't too small, it is a great tool to help with speech therapy.

I read on another review that a young man purchased the adult one (sold separately) because he had trouble focusing on his tests in college. That's a use I could definitely see! Maybe your child likes to read aloud but disturbs the other kids...this would be a great device as a mere whisper is amplified!

Try it yourself...I think you'll like it!

I bought this for my son to help with comprehension in Reading and this was a great thing. He was afraid that he would get made fun of at school but they all thought it was cool and wanted to try it. Thanks I highly recommend this for anyone that their child needs help in school.
