As both a middle and high school science teacher, I found this Weather Forecasting VideoLab very appropriate for all 7 through 12 grade levels. The student and teacher instructions are clearly written. The video is closely aligned with the labs. Both pre and post tests make accountability easy. Lab stations are easy to set up and follow and each lab station includes answer sheets which helps with keeping sudents on task.
This product aligns nicely with National Science Standards and would stand alone for your Earth Science weather unit. It's definitely a fun "hands on" means to understanding basic topics in meteorology.

My child is a rare one that doesn't really like to read bedtime stories. She LOVES the signing time videos (so do I!) and these books are her favorite, every night, go to read! She just can't get enough! I could recommend ANYTHING signing time related all day long. These books won't disappoint. My daughters vocabulary and signing is out of this world for a 2 year old.

It definitely suits our needs and I was obviously aware that it is plastic, but it's somewhat cheaply made. If you're amateurs like us and doing it for a hobby then this works just fine, but if you have very important slides then I would recommend finding a metal box to use. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase.product is great quality and well worth the price..... ... .. Also shipped fast. , , , , , Thanks!

Wader Super Garbage Truck Review
I was glad to have found a good price with reasonable shipping on this truck. I saw it on ebay and decided it would be a good one for my garbage truck-obsessed son, but the price was too high and the shipping was insane for this large but not very heavy truck. This truck is nice because it is very sturdy and interactive. I also love that it doesn't require batteries (so I don't have to change them!) but does require a healthy imagination. There is no plastic in the windows around the cab so you can put your own drivers in.

Its good for toddler, maybes the 3T's and up, My daughter who is 2 fell the first few times when she tried to lean her weight on it, ...after a few falls she realized she needs to just lightly push it. Its very light weight unlike the metal ones, I think my daughter would have played more with the metal one. The toys its came with are also OK. Lot of them in paper which will not last very long in my child's hand. But like i said earlier it maybe a good toy for older girls. We sent "the Learning Journey Shop and Go Shopping Cart" to our grand daughter for Christmas. She loved it. What's even better, my son who is totally blind was able to put it together in minutes. We were watching him on Skype. Great toy for little GIRLS. Sorry I'm not politically correct.

Review of K's Kids The Hungry Pelican
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $34.99
Sale Price: $27.95

Our Hungry Pelican is now on child number three and shows no signs of wear despite being a favorite crib toy for many years.
The bright yellow velour pelican ties onto the crib railing. His fat cheeks squeak, his wings crinkle, and his feet rattle. He comes with four sea creatures (crab, shrimp, fish, and octopus) that are each different textures and colors, and make different sounds (rattle, rustle, etc.). Children can put the little animals into pelican's mouth and watch them drop down into his tummy. The large circular tummy opening allows for easy removal of the animals so play can begin all over again.
I found that babies enjoy quietly investigating the sounds, colors, and textures of the four little sea creatures. Toddlers progress to the eating game.
I am grateful to Mr. Pelican for allowing me an extra half hour of sleep every morning. What can be better than that!

Well, I loved this thing. However, we have only had it a few weeks and the squeak is already broken or not working in one of the cheeks of the pelican. I emailed K Kids, but haven't heard from them. I'd exchange it via Amazon but it's not worth the postage unless Amazon will exchange free of charge b/c of it being defective. It was not a cheap toy.Best Deals for K's Kids The Hungry Pelican
We bought this on the recommendation from a friend as a way to corral pacifiers and end the midnight, on our knees, searching for pacifiers game. LOVE it! The colors are bright and enticing, my son likes putting the stuffed toys in his mouth and it does exactly what I hoped... keeps pacifiers together and easily accessible and now my son has learned to put in and take out pacifiers himself.Honest reviews on K's Kids The Hungry Pelican

Our son received the Hungry Pelican when he was 8 months old. We tied it into his crib right away. It took him a couple weeks to notice it but it soon became the favorite toy. He will play quietly in his crib in the mornings (giving me time to get ready for work!), taking the creatures out of the belly and playing with them. I am not sure he knows how to feed it just yet but that will come... I've found pacifiers and other items in the belly too and the little creatures all over the room. In terms of giving Mom and Dad a couple more minutes of quiet, this has been a lifesaver! (and the little shrimp cracks me up!)Wednesday, October 8, 2014
Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Push 'N See Kaleidoscope Reviews
My husband bought this for my 5.5 month-old son. Although my son hasn't completely figured it out yet, his face just lit up the first time he pushed the handle down. And he played with this for more than an hour at his first try. That alone was worth the money since he usually only plays with a toy for a few seconds. I highly recommend this (although the laugh is a little bit evil).
Pros: Easy to use at around 6 months
Six other babies have played with this toy and they all loved it too
The ears are just the right size for teething babies
Cons: A little large
The laugh is evil and annoying
Update: This, like all battery-operated children's toys, needs an off switch. Not only does my baby love this, but so does my dog. Now we hear an evil laugh coming from the next room, both day and night, because the dog has figured out how to push the handle down with his nose.

Love this toy. Keeps the baby occupied and he seems to enjoy it. The music and spinning is a great reward for him to develop his motor skills. My only wish is that it would not topple so easily I have to hold it while he plays with it or it will be on its side and he'll be yelling for me to straighten it up for me. He used it from about 6 months and still likes it 3 months later.Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Push 'N See Kaleidoscope

And his mom should be equally thrilled because his dad is getting another Nano V2 set so they can have several climbing "critters" in the house:)

SainSmart UNO R3 Starter Kit With 16 Basic Arduino Tutorial Reviews
This kit comes with all the components you need to start learning Arduino and open source hardware development. The problem I had with this kit is that it came with no instructions. I ended up having to do some searches to find the documentation and 16 example projects. Eventually I found them at the Sain Smart website, available on this page:
After getting the instructions, programming was a breeze and everything worked as described. There are a couple of things that I would do to this kit to give it a 5 star rating:
1) The wire assortment doesn't contain very many long wires so its hard to use the entire space of the breadboard.
2) The LCD does not come with header pins. You will have to solder your own pins.
3) Some of the examples/tutorials use parts that are not included with this kit.
Other than those things, I think this is a good kit for a beginner.

This is my first experience with OpenSource hardware. I must say this kit, is pretty cool. It has everything to get you started and is easy to learn. It is a nice kit! Very helpful seller with great communication. Looking forward to completing all of the tutorials. Had issues but they were quickly resolved. Have trouble connecting the power supply, it appears that the inside of the plug is too small to fit. Trying to make it work though.Honest reviews on SainSmart UNO R3 Starter Kit With 16 Basic Arduino Tutorial
The instructions (which you have to download from the site, they arent included in the kit) are barely english. Also the instructions will show you how to wire a project and includes the coding for each project, but it doesnt explain WHY to wire it that way or WHY to code it that way. Its more of a 'have already started kit' as opposed to a starter kit.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for SainSmart UNO R3 Starter Kit With 16 Basic Arduino Tutorial
This is an excellent educational tool to learning electronic programming which can lead to robotic programming, the goal for my students. The breadboard is large, there are plenty of wires and leds to get started. Everything arrived quickly. One minor point: one of the hinges of the storage box everything comes in was crack so the box doesn't close perfectly. If I was a kid receiving this I would have been more disappointed but plan to upgrade to a larger "tool" box in the future.Monday, August 4, 2014

I agree with the previous opinion that instructions are poorly done and it took me probably 30 min. to put it together, but there is a 3.5 min video on amazon check it out and you'll see it is not that hard.
When we go out my kid almost always chooses this bike over stroller or car (Step 2 Whisper Ride Buggy Blue) and it is my favorite as well. It is very easy for a parent to steer, removable safety harness makes it very comfortable and safe ride for a kid. Removable canopy is very handy especially in SoCal.
We purchased this bike well in advance for my kids first birthday and bike spent a few months in the box before I even attempted to put it together. I was very disappointed when I found that part of the canopy was damaged during shipping. I contacted Dana at Smart trikes and was pleasantly surprised because the only thing that she asked me was to email her picture of the broken part and shipping address replacement part was UPSed with no other questions asked. Smart trike comes with a great customer service when you need it.
This is really too bad because it is really cute and he likes it; he just looks far too uncomfortable riding in it.
The issue is that his legs are too long. Imagine trying to ride a trike that is too small for your legs. His knees are far too bent making it very awkward.
This wouldn't be a problem if the main shaft of the trike actually allowed for the seat to slide back. If it does slide back, we couldn't figure out how to do it.
Speaking of assembly, the parent steering mechanism that attaches to the back never really worked for us. The fittings were way too tight for most of the assembly and we couldn't get the holes to line up so that we could put the pin in, no matter how hard we pushed and tried to tap it into place. Any one else have this problem?
Despite having this trike, we're looking into purchasing the Kettler and/or the Radio Flyer trikes as these are truly adjustable.
I am constantly having mom's inquire about the trike wherever we go, and I thought maybe I should post some of my comments where I brought it.
First off I should admit that my husband put the trike together so I can't comment on the difficulty. Took him 15min without difficulty, but he is an engineer and good at technical details. There was nothing broken or missing. The front pedals did spin when they were suppose to be disengaged, but that only lasted 3 days until it got worn in.
I saw a lot of bad/mixed reviews when I bought so I thought I'd comment on some of the things I'd seen posted.
1) I saw a lot of comments that it didn't steer straight. Ours worked prefect for 2 weeks then suddenly started veering all over the place and I thought oh no. I looked down and realized my 1 year old was trying to steer. There is no way to lock out your toddler from taking control, but I easily over power my little guy so it is never a problem. If you are having problems steering make sure the culprit is not your little angel :)
2) The sun shade is great, but not meant for strong winds. Also if it rubs against your child's blonde hair over the course of a long walk you may look down to discover your child has pink hair ( which luckily washed out). Easy to remove the shade.
3) the bucket on the back won't take a heavy load. I use to put my purse in the bucket but it has a tendency to dump the bucket and purse (i do have a heavy purse). Since it didn't carry my purse I figured I didn't need it right now and removed it. I'll put it back when we turn it into a dedicated trike.
4) The seat and seatbelt and surrounding safety bars still fit my 2 year old fine and there is still some growing room. Granted my child runs on the smaller side (26-27lbs). Most trikes don't have seat belts, so once he out grows them I'll stop using the belt. ( And one good thing about the safety bars only fitting small children is my 5 year can't steal his brothers trike, which thankfully saves me one sibling fight).
5) The toy phone got played with the first day and I don't think he ever touched it again. The cup holder at the front fits his sippy perfectly.
6) the saddle bag on the handle doesn't fit much. I like to carry a bottle of sunscreen in it for the days I forget the apply before leaving the house. Maybe an extra diaper, pack of wipes, bucket hat and some sunglasses.
7) My only real con about trike is pulling the trike backwards is a bit unstable. I use to pull my strollers through store doors backwards holding the door with my body. The first time I tried it with trike I nearly tipped it. Luckily the trike fits through doors going forward nicely so I haven't had any issues since.
8) both my kids refused to sit in a stroller from 11 months on. This is a great alternative. My son loves to ride in it. He tries to climb in without help.
9) one warning. Don't wear your Sunday best shoes or open toed sandals. My son likes to drag his feet on the ground despite having both the foot rest and foot pedals for options. It doesn't seem to be hurting his stride ride sneakers, but I could see some little kid somewhere scuffing up their nice shoes.
10) I love the grow-with-it factor. How much money have I spent on toys, clothes and baby gear that only lasted for 6months before the child grew out of it? It's wonderful to spend money on something that is going to be useable for years! A year of use, I've already gotten my money's worth, the next 2 years will just icing on the cake.

My son is by no means large. He got this for Christmas 2010. He is now 19 months old, 30 lbs, and 34 inches tall. He's the size of a 2-3 year old and no longer fits in this trike. He actually stopped fitting in this trike about two months ago when he was 28-29 lbs and 32-33 inches. He could barely fit in the seat and the straps won't "click" once he's in the seat. This is really too bad because it is really cute and he likes it; he just looks far too uncomfortable riding in it.

I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday so she could take walks in it to start. It was great for the first 3 months. Then the safety bar became loose because the plastic molded part where it attached to the trike to secure it became warped and no longer fit securely. We finally had to drive a screw into the back of the seat to secure it. The one plastic pedal continues to fall off and now that my daughter is trying to move her legs with the pedals, she can only do it on one side. Today, 4 months after purchasing it, one side of the canopy just totally fell apart screws and all. We put it back together but I don't expect it to last too long. Also, the canopy is too lightweight and if you walk at more than a snails pace the breeze continues to blow the canopy up and back toward you. I've been very disappointed with this product! The whole thing has really proven to be very cheaply made and has way too many plastic components. I was hoping that she could grow with it but never expect that to only be for 4 months!!! My next purchase will be something made of metal for durability and with less bells and whistles.Thursday, July 31, 2014
Cheap Vtech Sing & Soar Butterfly
I was very excited to give this toy to my friend's daughter for her 1st birthday. When I gave the toy as a present, it did not work, even when we put in new batteries. Additionally, it was obvious this toy had been used previously as there was wear on the back of the toy. I am very disappointed and am returning the toy.

This little toy is a real winner. It is small and lightweight enough for him to hold. VTech - V.Reader Animated E-Book System - Storage Tote Reviews
Purchased the system and case for my grandaughter's fifth birthday.
Pro
Case semi-hard shell should provide decent protection to the system.
Made specifically for the V.Reader (no other fitted case available)
Cons
The sleeves for the cartridges are a cloth mesh that is NOT see-through. You have to remove the cartridge to see which one it is.
The zipper was very hard to open or close around the corners of the case. I had a bottle of clear liquid silicone lubricant (purchased at a sewing store) and used that on the zipper. Made it work a bit easier. Grandaughter was unable to make the zipper work before I did that.
-The V.Reader comes with a usb cord for downloading books from the internet. There is NO STORAGE SPACE available in the case for the cord.
Benefits
Soft/Hard case protects Vreader
Adjustable backpack straps allow her to have her own backpack (so exciting for a kid who doesn't go to school yet)
Holds up to 8 game cartridges OR extra AA batteries also fit in the pocketswhich is good because the VRreader EATS batteries
Loop on the top allows the bag to be hung up and out of reach when not in use
Drawbacks-
There is nowhere to store any cord. We have both a car charger and an AC adapter for in the house (again, the battery situation) on top of the USB plug that is needed to download content and there is just no way to make them fit in there at all.
The case does NOT prevent the device from being turned on. The power button frequently is pressed by the zipper that closes the bag.
Overall, we like the carrierit keeps the vreader safe when we're on the move and out of the way when its not in use but it could really have been made better to carry some of the other essentials.

-The V.Reader comes with a usb cord for downloading books from the internet. There is NO STORAGE SPACE available in the case for the cord.

I read some of the other reviews and was reluctant to purchase this bag. I needed a storage system for my son's new v-reader so I took a chance. I do not understand some of the bad reviews because we have three books, the computer cord and the v-reader in the bag and have had no trouble closing the tote. It is durable and my son love carrying around his new v-reader. The case is hard around the body so it provide ample protection for the system. My son has already dropped it and I was not worried about any damage.Best Deals for VTech - V.Reader Animated E-Book System - Storage Tote
This worked great. My son don't have the V-Reader but he has the Innotab. I didn't want to pay the high price of the Innotab case if this one is the same. The only difference is that this one says V-Reader. Has a place for 8 games and for the game its self. Hard and durable for a better price.Honest reviews on VTech - V.Reader Animated E-Book System - Storage Tote
If you didn't get the backpack when you got the V Reader, it is a must. Nicely fits up to 6 e book cassetes and offers protection and convenience while travelling. Fit comfortably and it is very well made.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for VTech - V.Reader Animated E-Book System - Storage Tote
My 3yo received a Vreader and this case for Christmas. While the case is nice to hold the vreader itself and will hold game cartrdges, it does not hold the accessories.Benefits
