My daughter loves this toy and is 13 months old. Buy it elsewhere though. It is about $6 in stores and I paid $12 on this site because I never bothered to check the store first. My mistake and I won't make it again. But definetly a great toy.

I bought these beads for my 9 month-old. She loves to take them apart, drop them into a container, and chew on the the little connector nub. Looks like these will continue to be fun for months if not years.

I wanted a well-tuned glockenspiel with beautiful bell tones and found it in this lovely instrument. It's the perfect size to carry with me to classrooms and sing to children, playing it on my lap while using it to enhance the performance of Singable Picture Books like "There's a Train Out for Dreamland" and "The Big Bell and the Little Bell." It's also a wonderful little instrument for helping "explain" musical concepts with sound since it contains all the notes you need. This is a lovely perfect little instrument, exactly what I need.

I bought this for my 6 year old's science project. We followed the included directions and performed the excavating of this Tyrannosaurus Rex. Things learned: Examining Teeth, Understanding Skeletons, Excavating and assembling the Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. It was raining the day we were going to do the dig. I decided to do the dig on our dining room table. I used play sand to cover the skeleton and then brought my son in to do the dig. This worked well and wasn't as messy as I thought would be. It's a fun activity and the model is designed to be taken apart and reused. The base of the model is a little unstable if you are planing to transport this to school like we did. I had to put a few extra screws in the 3 part base to keep the model firm so that we could transport it to the classroom.

If you have a child that is into dinosaurs and/or digging in the sand box......THIS IS A MUST!!! Even if your child is too young for the educational materials you can still guide them through a dig. Sooo cool. My 7yo helped to set up the dig sight. He and his grandpa set up the stakes. Then we sent him inside so we could place the bones. This way he would have to hunt for them and not just dig them back up. He spent most of the day going out to find more pieces (in 100+ weather!) He just couldn't wait to set the whole thing up.

We now have the skeleton on display. The skeleton is very detailed and over a decent size. I would compare it to an adult (medium to large) cat. We also bought a t-rex sand mold and made plaster bones that can be left in the "dig sight" all the time. I think he was a bit young to be doing the worksheets alone but I am sure that we will be using this again in the future. This would be a cool addition to a Dinosaur Themed Birthday Party. Shop around we found this here for a great price. Worth every penny!!!

Teachers, your students will LOVE this. I wasn't into dinosaurs as a kid but I would have thought this was a cool lesson plan. I love the hands on approach this offers.

This happens to go right along with what my son wants to be when he grows up. He wants to be an "archeologist" just like Indiana Jones. In his mind they dig up dinosaurs too. He is forever digging in the sand and getting excited over things he finds. He has been very into dinosaurs forever and I don't see that changing anytime soon. We have a whole section of books on dinosaurs in their shelves and he never fails to check out dinosaur related books from the library. What a great way to indulge his interest. The adults enjoyed themselves just watching his enthusiasm.

Great party idea. Used this as a game for a 4 year olds Birthday. Had 9 kids, so they teamed up and dug up bones.Traded found fossils for gift bags. They also enjoyed putting it together. Can use this many times and teach a little each time. Would recommend to anyone that has their own little Bone Digger.

We bought this for a Dino dig themed party. The boys loved digging them up and even my older daughter and friend could hardly wait to have their chance to dig! Some good advice would be to assemble the bones once on your own before the party so that you will be better prepared to help during the actual party. We will use this many more times just for backyard fun, aka, learning in disguise

Its good for toddler, maybes the 3T's and up, My daughter who is 2 fell the first few times when she tried to lean her weight on it, ...after a few falls she realized she needs to just lightly push it. Its very light weight unlike the metal ones, I think my daughter would have played more with the metal one. The toys its came with are also OK. Lot of them in paper which will not last very long in my child's hand. But like i said earlier it maybe a good toy for older girls.

ScienceWiz / Energy Experiment Kit Reviews

Most of the wires are only 2 hair-size strands. My 9 yr old mentee had difficulty inserting wire in motor terminal holes. Wires likely to break. A larger solid wire would make threading the motor terminal easier. LED light was missing so we did not make a vinegar battery. Base of battery powered car is very flimsy (we will glue a popsicle stick under it to prevent buckling), but the car worked very well. Solar powered propeller worked very good when sun came out, and any shadow stopped the prop. Good educational experience about power of sun. Solar cell produced 0.56 volts DC in bright sun. Prop would not turn under a kitchen spot light. We had difficulty identifying the large capacitor. A small switch between solar cell & motor would help.

We had a good time Energy Wiz: The Race to Save the Planetgetting started with this kit. Guide book is very helpful listing parts. My mentee has younger brother & sister, so he did not take it home. Followed the warning about small parts.

My son picked this for his 5th grade science project. It was a great kit with instructional book and all supplies needed for the project. We completed the project and it was super easy due to this kit.

I bought this for my son, 3th grader. He chose it by looking at the box cover. When he received it, it disappoints him. He was expecting the box ingredient would be the same as cover.

The information about physics and solar are good. But my son got bored after a while I explained to him. I think it has too much info for him. Half of the parts look very CHEAP. That is one reason which loses attraction. But the motors and the capacitors are really good. I think it could have been improved to be more attractive to kids.

In summary, it is more like lab experiment kits. If it can be improve to attract young kids like my son. But anyway, the cover needs to be changed. It looks like false advertisement.

This is a great kit for teaching young elementary kids about energy. The experiments were fun and we found the instructions easy to follow. The explanations of most scientific concepts were excellent. The writing definitely does emphasize the importance of clean energy and problems of climate change. If you have an anxious child and were hoping to just learn about energy without having to read to them about the horrors of climate change (like mosquitoes with dengue fever) there are probably better kits for you (or just skip a couple of sections). We were a little disappointed to find that our kit was missing a few small items that it said were part of the kit. I contacted the company and was told that those items were no longer included--I guess they did not bother to include an update noting this. Overall though we still loved it an learned a lot from it. The solar cell experiments were a huge hit with my 7 year old!

As a teacher, I have to say that I LOVE my Radius. I recently purchased one on Ebay and the set included the Radius system, the Blends and Diagraph cd card set, and the Long Vowel cd card set...all for $150! This to me is a must have in any classroom. The features that I love are 1.) You can use the Radius as a standard cd player as well 2.) The cards a sturdy and durable and in any event if one of the cards became damaged, you can still us the Radius to locate the card 3.) It comes in this really nice carrying case to prevent damage 4.) The cd sets are made for different grade levels 5.) It's very simple for children to use 6.) In each card set there are teacher notes that explain varies ways of presenting the skill to the students 7.) In each set there is an answer key...so you can follow along with students and assess their answers 8.) It's a great informal testing tool 9.) It's great for small group instruction, independent practice and centers 10.) All the cards in any set you purchase are numbered in order and the key lets you know the answers and what words the students will learn on each card 11.) There are review cards after all of the lessons 12.) You can use up to four headphones or use speakers 13.) The look, listen, write and speak cards have the students to look at the words, listen to how the words are pronounced and sound (phonics), write the words on paper, and my favorite is the speak/record feature. This allows students to record how they sound when pronouncing words 14.) You can buy sets that fit your classroom needs

I was quite surprised when I opened the box, I thought it was going to be a small device, but it is large with easy to see functions...overall, I think that this is one of my best educational purchases I've purchased in awhile. The students love it and it's hands-on which makes it more enjoyable. The Radius and cd card sets are pricey but your money will be well spent!

One more thing...this is listed as a toy, it's not, it's an educational resource tool for teachers or parents

el metodo me parecio muy bueno, pero el cd se traba, no lee siempre las tarjetas, aveces se reinicia solo, por lo que lo regrese una vez y pedi que me lo cambiaran por otro, y efectivamente me enviaron otro, pero ya paso el mes para poderlo devolver, y tengo los mismos problemas que con el primero, se traba, se reinicia, no lee siempre las tarjetas correctamente, etc. No vale la pena compralo por el precio y el mal funcionamiento, realmente yo crei que por lo que estaba pagando iba obtener un mucho mejor producto. NO LO RECOMIENDO.

My 3 year old enjoys this. I don't have to force him to try it. He will bring it to me and we will play with it correctly for a few minutes, then start just trying to get the dog to talk. My 3 year old just turned 3 no even a month ago, so i don't expect him to focus on the project for long periods of time. We started when he was about 2 1/2 and each learning session is getting longer.

Hot Dots Jr. is perfect for teaching a young child their Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes, Colors etc. Not only does it teach it is fun! Ace the talking pen has several sounds he makes when your child is right, along with sounds when they give an incorrect answer. My only complaint is that the cards bend up really easily while my kids are trying to switch between them.
