Discount Brainy Baby 9910 Shapes and Colors Learning - Flash Cards
My sister gave these cards to us when my daughter was first born. I started to show the cards to her around 11 months (yes they are flimsy) and ended up going to Kinko's and laminating them since she liked to bend them. I have worked with her almost every day on them and she now can recognize and say most of the colors and shapes at 18 months! She loves to pull out her bag and do flashcards together while at home or away. We also have the ABCs cards and she has learned those as well. I say use your judgement if you want to purchase them or not, but as for our family we love them and can't wait to give them to friends!

Review of 3B Scientific A58/9 Human Didactic Flexible Spine Model with Femur

List Price: $209.00
Sale Price: $129.75

I am very happy with this product. The class liked the colors. It really helped them understand the different parts of the spine. Also very solidly made. I don't usually write reviews but getting this product in two days really helped me out of a potential bind. So I am grateful. I didn't buy the stand, I just propped the spine up when I wasn't holding it by hand. This item is exactly what I needed to show my Critical Alignment Therapy students the various aspects of the spine in certain postures. I just wished the stand had been available.

Learning Resources Primary Science Plant and Grow Set Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $29.99

This is a great toy that combines quality parent/child time with science and learning. It comes with several great ideas that go far beyond simple growing projects. My 4 year old loves it, and especially loves getting the one-on-one time when we do the experiments!
My only complaint is that I was expecting the kit to come with a (small) bag of dirt. Probably a silly thing to assume, since I'm sure that would add weight, but since I don't have easy access to dirt, it was something extra I had to go buy before we could start doing many of the experiments.
After planting Jayden checked on them a few times asking if they were growing. He noticed right away that the observation jar has condensation on the inside. He is excited to watch them grow. While we were planting he asked lots of questions like, "do plants grow at night with no sun?", "how long before they are big?", and so on.
Within about a day or two small sprouts began to grow. This set has so many fun learning opportunities. I really like that the activity cards give lots of great growing activities like from a pineapple, radishes, and more. The cards also provide step by step instructions. My son was able to get the materials needed for each activity because the card shows a picture. The observation jar and the rooting tray are both clear and make it easier to see the roots as they grow. There is so much to learn in this set from parts of a plant, to the life cycle of a plant. And once the plants begin to grow you can start to measure them and get a little math involved. I think my only complaint would be that the trowel is pretty small and it doesn't scoop much.

With the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set, you plant the seeds of early science discovery! Unique pieces, such as an observation jar and rooting tray, encourage little green thumbs. Pots are clear for observation, and trowel is sized for little hands. It is a perfect set for a child's first garden or even for experienced gardening children!
I love the clear pots so they can see everything that is happening...especially how roots spread out and even worms if you want to add them in! I know my son LOVES that! This set really comes with everything you need to get your children excited to have a green thumb! My son LOVES having his own watering can (like mommy!) and the plant markers are really helpful keeping track of which plants are growing in which pot!
This set is perfect for any child that wants to have their own pots or garden like mommy or daddy or is great for homeschooling and science time!

I received this to help facilite a review on my blog. The Primary Science Plant & Grow Set has just about everything you need to start growing plants. We just added the soil, seeds, water, and sunlight. My son and I went shopping for seeds. We looked through the activity cards for some ideas before we left. He really wanted to do vegetables so he picked out cucumbers. We also got some flower seeds and Oregano. After planting Jayden checked on them a few times asking if they were growing. He noticed right away that the observation jar has condensation on the inside. He is excited to watch them grow. Best Deals for Learning Resources Primary Science Plant and Grow Set
As a homeschool mom, I am thankful for Learning Resources. They provide products that make homeschool science easy for children. I really like this set from Learning Resources. The size is perfect for my 5 year old, the only item that is very small for her is the trowel but she didn't seem to mind one bit. This is made with sturdy plastic and very colorful. When we opened the box my daughter and 1 year old son were both very excited to see this child sized set. I appreciate the variety of projects that can done with this set. We have tried the first activity card and loved it. You will need to purchase items to complete the activity cards. I had popcorn kernels already for this first project, thankfully. With this first activity my daughter can learn about how sunshine and water can cause the kernels to sprout. Next, we can plant the sprouted kernel in the pot and watch it grow! So fun! There are also 3 more activity cards available to downloadnofollow from the Learning Resources website! I highly recommend this set for your Kindergarten age child.*I was sent the product for free in exchange for a review. All opinions are mine.

Discount 3B Scientific Deluxe 8-part brain
3B Scientific makes good products, but some of them are quite expensive and this brain certainly falls in this category. It has a lot of detail and is worth the money for serious neuroanatomical purposes. In fact, 3B has even more detailed brains including a 5 piece brain that comes with a standard skull or a more elaborately labelled one. This particular brain does not fit in any of the skulls made by this company, which might be a consideration.
If you are a general anatomy student, you may find that the LWW Budget Brain with Arteries Model C20C meets all of your needs for a LOT less money. This brain has a lot of detail, it's rugged and it is color coded. As a bonus, it also shows the arteries.

VTech - InnoTab Software - Disney Fairies Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $24.99

This has been a big hit with my 6yo, especially the Fireflies Aglow game. She likes catching the light beams, then tossing them at the lightning bugs to make them light up and be happy again. She has to light them from top to bottom, or left to right. It utilizes her fine motor skills and I'm sure will help develop her writing.
There is also Flower Blooms which is a memory and pattern game, and Skate on Water that is tracing shapes. The creative games are making a fairy house, fairy sounds and photo fun if you have the Innotab 2 or 2S. She can take a pic with a leaf on her head or other fun things. Then, of course, there is the story which my daughter likes, too.
I like that there are two settings for the games, so when she masters the easy level, the fun isn't over. It is recommended for ages 5-7, but my almost 4yo can try out the easy levels of the games and not get too frustrated. This is definitely the favorite of the 3 we purchased, VTech InnoTab Software Disney Princesses and VTech InnoTab Software Hello Kitty, too. I'm really glad we made this purchase, and would definitely buy it again.

Buy WordWorld WordFriends Magnetic Plush Dog
I got this for my daughter and all of the Word World stuffed toys like this are 9.99... not sure why this seller is selling it for this much... but at target they are 9.99... and she loves it... this show has done so much for her... I love PBS for this show!
The one thing I will add is that we found them much cheaper at our Target and they are sold individually. So I don't know why they are so expensive through the 3rd party.
My brother just called me to ask if I can give his baby the dog that I have because their dog have fallen apart and they are devastated. They got it from someone who bought it from Target or Wallmart at 9 something and it was the cheap version that came in this orange/green packaging and they were so happy they got it and now they are desperate to replace it. I saw their other dog and it did not felt or looked like the first adition at all. My first edition dog came with dvd and it is solid. It is so well built that he was amazed when he compared them. So yes, there is cheaper version out there sometimes but beware!!! I don't think you want to risk toy taht might dissintegrate on your baby. Go look for the real mccoy. companies nowdays substitute and economize to save and make cheaper toys but the outcome is not that great. They have similar lookig product but the durability and quality is lost. I don't recommend the cheap dog. Look for the one that comes in white packaging with DVD check auctions and other places as it is not sold in stores anymore, they changed the model to cheaper one. The white first edition packaging was retailing in toy stores for 50.00 plus at the time. I found one jsut a second ago and bidding on it so if you really look you can find it, but it is hard really hard. I don't want to part with our set as this is lovely memories but I will get a new dog for my brother's baby or else till then they are using our doggie as baby missed it so much, but I wanna my baby doggie back badly :) end of update.
HUGE TIP: beware of sellers who remove the dog from packaging and sell it as is without packaging as you might be buyig the cheap one instead of deluxe version first edition. So check with your seller ask questions which dog are they selling if it is without the box, I had to learn it the hard way.
HUGE TIP NUMBE 2: how to tell apart if you are dealing with the dog from new cheaper edition or the original deluxe series in the white box if it comes without a box? Easy.. the new cheap dog has his head on the G, the classic first edition good one has his head on D! easy to spot difference.

It is just amazing how quickly my baby learned letter recognition and puting words together in order thanks to these animals.
The whole family was amazed how those little hands could put togehter the dog, cat, zebra, cow, etc.. all animals in the set
together in a snap.
We started with the dog as it is her faforite animal, obviously like most kids :) and then we gradually were adding on
animals untill we ended up with the whole set before we knew it. It is so rewording to see your tinny treasure to
be able to do words!!! that it is jsut breath taking.
We did not need any foring techinques, flash cards or anything, she was just grasping the concept from my taking apart
the animal, sounding the letters and puting them together back for her few times and then she got it like
in the same day and from that day on she knew.
I think this should be every paretnt's every baby first educational toy. It is so baby friendly, perfect for the sens of touch,
soft and cozy what actually is said to develop brain faster.
It is sucha pleasing design and there are places to chew on if you need ha ha ha..
We take the animals everyhwere we go and she does not only have fun she is reinforcing her reading skills and preparing
for future writing without knowing it!
We were lucky to get the animals that were issued in those white boxed packaging with DVD inside. Not the other version in
the orangy cheaper packaging and without DVD. Difference is really apparent. I got the animals as a gift to my niece
but I could not find anywhere the first edition in white packaging with bluish background and DVd included in the box
so Igot the other set on e by and apparently they are not the same. Similar and all but the quality is not the same.
The original edition animals are more plumpy, solid, and have better and more baby friendly feel and touch to them
whereas the other not the white boxedition has cheaper feel to it.
Overall we are very very pleased with the set. I have heard that this design got so many rewards and it is so popular among parents
and I totally agree with the notion. It is great for the baby and it teaches something useful for life unlike so many toys
that do nothing. It is good to see your baby having so much fun and stay engaged for good while with them.
It is amazing how long attention span the baby has while playing with the animals.
As she grows I marvel how she can put together the simple words from different animals for fun.. as in she would take
different letters from different animals and still spell the word dog or cat or cow correctly and giggles
that each letters is from different animal.. like for instance she will take L from the lion with the head,
then put i from the fish and then o from the dog and n from the lion again and she is so proud to do that.
It shows me that she is not only putting animal together, she is actually aware of the letters..
and to prove it she can take just the letters without heads and not color coded and at random
pull the letters and put together a word that is independent of characters..
soooooo cooooooooool

My 9 month old daughter loves this show! She claps and dances to the music and is just fascinated with it. We have collected all of the characters for her she loves to pull them apart and then stick them back together. They are great learning tools ... we use them to point out letters, the sounds they make, the sounds they make when they come together and then the word itself! A great association tool. And they can take quite the beating from her as well! The one thing I will add is that we found them much cheaper at our Target and they are sold individually. So I don't know why they are so expensive through the 3rd party.

I love the PBS program of WORDWORLD. The show is entertaining and educational. Unfortunately the manufacturer of the toy line would benefit the general public by offering the entire Word World character line of plush toys to be sold individually. The toy I purchased was sent in a timely manner and in perfect condition. The DOG plush is the main character and is the one my one year granddaughter relates to. Unfortunately this character does not come to Target individually barcoded so can only be ordered through third party companies. As a result a 9.99 retail priced toy costs 25.00 plus. I am very pleased with the toy otherwise and DOG added to my granddaughters first birthday as this is the one toy she recognized and was delighted with.Wednesday, September 24, 2014
Buy Grimm's Small Geometric Shape Wooden Conical Stacking Tower, in 9
My son got this stacker for his first birthday and it's a great toy. My one and only complaint is that I was afraid he would hurt himself on the center pole when he was toddling unsteadily around while learning to walk. That being said, the pros far outweigh the one con. It's durable, brightly colored, and the wood is stained with safe dyes so the color won't chip off (we had that problem with 2 other, cheap stackers that were painted with who knows what). What I like best about this toy is that it's not just round pieces, they are geometric shapes, which lends itself for a lot of educational value. When my son it playing with it we talk to him about the colors, shapes, and sizes of the different pieces, and I can imagine that the shapes will come in handy once he is older and learning those too.

Grandma's Trunk Alphabet Game is a very simple game that allows parents and kids to be creative and have fun. The trunk comes with 26 letter cards with a letter and image on them. There is also a set of Grandma's Riddles cards that ask simple "Who" type questions for kids to answer. There are five suggested games you can play all of which are geared towards helping kids with their letters. You can play with one child or a whole classroom! Have kids name the objects, sound out the letters, and put them in order of the alphabet. The cards are durable cardboard and wonderfully illustrated and kid-friendly. Its funny how something so simple can be so cute and fun.
There are a couple ways to play and you could even come up with your own rules and ideas. My children have enjoyed it thus far (3 and 4). I could see that after playing for awhile it might get too easy...which is why I suggest throwing in your own ideas!

Hooray for pixie dolls! Very well made and sturdy for the young ones and pretty enough for young tweens. Cool in any environment!

Review of Poster Set Basic Spanish Gr 4-9
I purchased this póster for my daughter
who is a beginning Spanish teacher and she was so excited to set up her bulletin board with the poster. The colors are bright and bold, and a great supplement to her teaching curriuculum. Great product .

My 12 month old baby loves these cups. As soon as I opened these, he was fascinated. He discovered right away how to put the cups inside eachother. It seems that I could have gotten these much sooner. I had been looking for a long time for cups made from bpa-free plastic because I wanted him to be able to play with them in the bath and I knew that he would put them in his mouth. I couldn't find any. He can't play with these in the bath, but they are great. The colors are so bright and the wood is very durable after many times being thrown to the floor. A previous reviewer mentioned that they have a strane taste. It is true, but my husband assures me that this wood and finish (milk paint it seems?) is very safe.
As far as the quality of them, I'm sure you could break them but we always taught our daughter to be careful with her toys (or tried to). After 6 years the colors still look lovely and if anything they've gotten smoother over time -though they were quite smooth to start.
Another reviewer mentioned Melissa and Doug. At a public playroom we visit we've gotten to see how their "wood" toys hold up. They're all made of engineered wood which after the finish is abraded you can see that they're more glue than wood.

This is such a simple, yet versatile toy. This toy has been used to practice stacking and unstacking, to knock over towers, to put things in, and with the upcoming developmental milestones I am sure it will be put to other great uses. An absolute favorite and it is looked for during each play time. I would purchase this toy over and over again. Love the colors and durability.Best Deals for Grimm's Set of 5 Small Wooden Stacking & Nesting Rainbow Bowls, Red

I was coming to order this as a gift for a young nephew and after reading the reviews, I wanted to share our experience. I approach toy buying with a quality over quantity approach. My daughter received this toy when she was about 9 months old. It got used a lot until she was about 4. In combination with Grimm's Small Wooden 6-Piece Rainbow Conical Stacking Tower, Made in Germany and Haba Baby's First Blocks (or some other colorful blocks) there are a lot of possible ways of manipulating and arranging. Now that she's 6, these occasionally get used as bowls for feeding toy animals. They're really a great size for small hands. As far as the quality of them, I'm sure you could break them but we always taught our daughter to be careful with her toys (or tried to). Great for ages up to at least 4. Hours of fun stacking up and knocking over. Very durable product. A bit smaller in size than I anticipated.
