It is a catapult, it fires small objects across the room. Things like mini marhmallows, dog food, and marbles work well. The trigger slips and does not hold down the arm, but could probably easily be fixed. If your thinking the price seems kinda high, well it is, but you already know that. It is sturdy and looks good.

This is a good product. I would order it again. However, the picture on this website shows (or did) two cartridges. It is only one cartridge, but does include a lot of textbooks and questions.

There is an element of FRAUD used in the photos shown on MANY of the iQuest cartridges on AMAZON. Almost ALL show TWO cartridges. However, you frequently only get ONE. The difference is the package that only has ONE, is an OLD outdated one and covers textbooks so old they are no longer used in the schools. They are primarily designed to be used by entering the PUBLISHER of your child's textbook, and then selecting the title of the TEXTBOOK so you can test yourself on the chapter you are doing in class, which makes the single cartridge useless.

However, you can still use them as just a questio and answer game, and just not enter the textbook info, but you should not have to pay the same price for them, as they only have about 50% as much info on them and do not co-ordinate with currently used textbooks.

I had to order 3 times before I got the current 2 cartridge pack. Amazon knows the photos are deceiving and refuses to correst them, which is FRAUD. Even after I called Amazon, BEFORE I ordered each time, to ask if I would get TWO or ONE, I was assured I would get TWO, and I only got ONE . . . .

IF you get the current 2 pk. edition, it is a GREAT deal and a wonderful educational tool. I homeschool and use these as part of our curriculim.

the book was perfect for an art idea of mine since i needed a blank book to pull them off. it was a little smaller than i expected at 28 pages but that really isn't much of a problem depending on what you plan to do with the book. the first one i ordered a while ago was clean but the second one looked like it got stepped on or dropped on the floor or something (again not much of a problem because the cover's going to be painted anyway). I still don't really see how this is a toy, it catches me more as an art supply with all the ideas i have, but i guess it wouldn't be half bad for a kid's craft because the book is durable and easy to work with. If you're going to do any art that involves books, this a good choice.

My daughter is creating a non-stop flow of literature which she's begun binding using 3 ring binders and other office supplies. When I surprised her with these pre-bound white books, she was thrilled. Instead of make-shift books, she feels like she's really creating works of literature. As she gets older, she'll need thicker books but these are perfect now. Great quality.

I purchased this blank book to compose and illustrate and children's-book-style robot love story for my boyfriend's birthday. It's exactly what it claims itself to be, with 14 8.5" x 11" pages and a hard cover. The quality was satisfactory, and the pages were relatively thick (if I was careful, I could use marker/sharpie and it wouldn't bleed through). Great book, and I have no complaints about it!

I ordered two of these books for a college project I'm doing. The aim was to create a client-directed children's book, educating about proper ownership of a particular pet. The book contains more than enough pages for what I needed, and the blank cover allowed me to be as creative as I wanted. The books are a bit larger than I expected, but that's not a problem. I printed my text and graphics onto full-sheet Avery labels, cut them out with an X-acto knife, and stuck 'em on the pages. It's not professional, but it will work for what I need them for. And at this price? You can't beat it.

I got this toy for 9-month-old twins, but I was suprised to find that two to five-year-olds are also amused by it. I would not buy it specifically for older children, but if your baby has older siblings, this will be a hit with them as well.

It can become a hazard once your child is able to climb. It can become a stepping stool onto higher, dangerous places (like bookshelves and toy cabinets).

Other than that, it is a fantastic toy. There is a variety of music in there, so it is not as annoying for parents as some other electronic toys. It is also very sturdy. Ours has been through some serious abuse (it has even gotten soaked in the rain) and it still works well. Despite all the keys and buttons, it is fairly easy to clean.

I bought this table for my 7 month old since I had owned a previous version of the same thing (minus the Spanish part). Unfortunately I gave it away, so I recently purchased it again. The main board itself is great, fun, and keeps the attention of the little one. The bilingual addition to this toy is fantastic. It has a great variety of activities/sounds so not only is the little one entertained by it, parents don't have to hear the same things over and over again.

However, the legs feel really flimsy this time around. The older version had extra stabilizing 'feet' when you add the legs so there would be less tendency to tip over. I don't know why they decided to stop making them with this feature other than a cost issue on their end. Also, some of the new versions do not have the tabs on the legs, so once you attach the legs on, you cannot remove them. Which is again strange since they claim on the box that you can remove them. (apparently, the Leapfrog Company has told people to return this version to the store and get one with the tabs, but good luck finding one with tabs) The plastic legs are also more prone to bend in places it's not supposed to bend(I found this out when I tried to remove the legs.) Luckily, I was able to exchange it out as my baby doesn't stand up yet.

So, in summary, if you want to buy this table and your little one is still not ready to stand, check to see which type of legs the table comes with. If it has the tabs, you are in luck. If it doesn't, do not put the legs on until your little one is ready to stand.

My mom bought this table and I bought a Fisher Price table. The kids love the Leap Frog Table and hate the Fisher Price one. The Leap Frog one is awesome! It has two options, words or music. So for the little ones to whom words don't mean much, you can use the music reinforcement and my toddler (age 2) likes the word option now. Great for around age 8 months when they start pulling up to stand. Love Love Love this table.

My daughter just got this for her first birthday and she loves it! Everything you touch on this table makes a noise we especially love the trombone and the banjo. As you flip the pages to the "book" in the middle of the table, the songs and the sounds change. There are lots of movable parts for the kids to play with the slide on the trombone moves, there is a slide on the violin, the banjo has a lever to pull, there is a barrel to roll, pages of the book to turn, shapes to press, and a compartment to open. It is very colorful and very sturdy, too. I would DEFINTELY reccomend this toy!

I was mildly disappointed that the the audio cuts in an out after a few months of use. I was looking for a solution, when I ran into a report that states this toy contains lead, bromine and arsenic!!! This is terrible in a child's toy, how can this go into production?

I got this on sale for under four bucks. This toy is like the silicone vibrating bugs that were very popular, except it doesn't need batteries. It is a nice way to show the younger kids the concept of power coming from light and sun.

The main problem with this bug is that it need really bright sun before it can start moving around. On a mild cloudy day it will vibrate just a little bit. But indoor, it cannot move even if you shine it direct with a strong flashlight.

The head detaches very easily and you may want to put superglue on it. The legs are made of steel not the silicone legs popular with the other bugs.

We were looking and searching for the switch since we couldn't make it move when we first unpack it. I thought we received a DOA bug, but what it needs is a really bright sun.-

Bought a couple of these as stocking fillers. My boys loved them! Not sure how long they'll last as they seem quite flimsy and only seem to work when in very bright sunshine but they met our expectations and kept the boys entertained while we cooked on Christmas morning.

Bought this for my son and first, yes it needs *direct* and *bright* sun to work at all. Then all it does is vibrate around. It's not a kit or anything. You just take it out, put it in sunlight and then ask, 'That's it???'

I've tried adjusting the legs, seeing if having one side bent up more could make it stutter in that direction and make more interesting, but no luck.

Unfortunately a big part of the reason for getting these is moot, this is not actually a kit, it is fully built and ready to go. Maybe it's the seller I got it from I don't know but the robots are fun. The educational value is severely curtailed since I couldn't build it with my daughter and that is very disappointing.

This is a cute story. It works well with the leap pad system.

My only problem with this is I am very tired of this Pooh Story. Disney seems to have put this out in every medium availabledvd, video, books on tap, leap pad, computer games etc. There are other Pooh stories that are just as cute if not cuter. I'm tired of this one and so are my children.

If you have a Leappad book, I'd look at other stories before getting this one. It is a bit light on the activities compared to some of the other books.

My children don't use the LeapFrog products as much as I thought they would, and in that sense, if you do not already own the LeapFrog unit, you may want to borrow a neighbors for a couple of weeks and see if your kids take to it. That having been said, the products are of high quality, and the content is very good. The "Pooh Gets Stuck" is fine, whether its any better than borrowing a Pooh book from the library and reading it with your child is another debate.

Dora is a hit in our household, so this leap-book was only fitting for us to purchase. If your child enjoys Dora, you won't be disappointed in this fun little book. I was really pleasantly surprised by the educational content, and all the fun it provides, it is packed with a bunch of interactive little games that keep even a 2 year old interested. My 2 & 4 year olds both love this book. My four year old was jealous that he didn't have THIS book for HIS leap pad (he has bigger leap pad). This book teaches vocabulary both English and Spanish, problem solving, cooperation, and shapes and colors as well. My only wish is that they had more books to buy.

My almost three year old daughter received the My First Leap Pad for Christmas. "Santa" also brought the Dora game. She loves it! Besides being an avid fan of the show on TV, she has played this game A LOT! It's great for road trips as her older brothers punch away at their Game Boys. She feels very grown up. The pages are now easy for her to navigate. She initially was too impatient to listen to the directions and would immediately being to press buttons. This has gotten better! Some of the pages are bent but with all the use she's getting out of the book it's worth it.

I just got the Dora book for it and he instantly figured out that you have to put the cartridge in before you can play it. This is a wonderful learning tool not only for teaching how to follow directions but also a few spanish words, always helpful, and mostly some good interaction with his TV pal Dora.

My 3yr old girls LOVE this product! This is something they actually play together! And that doesn't happen unless they are being mischievous. Even my son who is 6 also plays the games and likes it. It has the real voices from the show and all the familiar characters they know. It teaches simple spanish words that my girls love repeating through out their busy day. Although my kids have gotten their hand stuck once or twice in the truck, it really wasn't a big deal. I just helped them open their hand and pull it out. Honestly, I never thought about it twice because this is really a great toy. My son got it for his 1st birthday and still plays with it at four years because it's so many toys in one: a truck with a driver, a shape sorter, a "dump truck" of sorts (back opens up), a handyman toy (buttons are in tool shape and make corresponding sounds). The little shapes expand to animals, which is my son's favorite feature. The only downside is that after 3 years of extensive use, they are starting to get stuck, but the rest of the truck still works great, while I've probably thrown away every other toy he's had since age one.

I recommend this toy and would give it to a friend's kid myself.

I bought this toy due to the good ratings from other customers. Warning: sometimes good ratings do not mean the toy is any good. Turns out, this toy has NO OFF switch. There is only one function and that is to be ON all the time. I like how it makes noises every time you stick a shape in its hole or press a button, but it's completely annoying that I cannot turn off the thing and have my baby play quietly. Sometimes quiet play is needed but this toy does NOT allow that.

My son (10 month old) thinks this is great. So do we. It is an odd combo 1. a dump truck, 2. the little shapes are animals (a bird, turtle, elephant and a fish) that you push a little button on each and it opens into the animal and you push the pieces back in so that they fit into the dump truck and 3. it actually plays a couple lovely songs! It also makes the sounds of a saw, jackhammer,etc when you push that button. There is no off switch, but this is not annoying as the songs are short and the others sounds only play when the button is pushed. This is not an obnoxious loud either. I do recommend this toy! It is something my son will grow into. ie: right now he can not push the animals pieces back in, but he can make them pop out. He puts all the shapes into the hexagon instead of the correct shape.

It is the bare bones basic, compllete with water purifier, eggs, food and spoon, no more, no less. if your kid responds well to this one, then you'll want to upgrade to the more nifty kits.

one word of caution, if your kid has his/her heart set on a red tank, don't hold your breath. I ordered from this listing for the red tank and got a blue one instead. i'm grateful that my son was able to be more flexible when it showed up, after all it was the monkeys that he wanted more than anything.

This was an impulse, last minute holiday gift for my kids. I wasn't sure if they would like it but they loved it! It was their favorite gift. They were fascinated by the process of getting the water ready (day 1), putting the eggs in (day 2), then watching them hatch (for us happened on day 5). Easy to get started and a no stress pet!

Update: they all died within a week of hatching. We followed all of the directions, so not such a perfect gift after all.
