Bought for 18 month old grand-daughter. This is her favorite toy. The rings are the right size for her hand, but not a choking hazard. The base could be a bit wider it falls over but she doesn't care. This toy will grow with her. She is able to put rings on pegs right now, but will also be able to learn colors, counting, and numbers. Very sturdy and well made.

Discount Guidecraft 1 to 5 Ring Counter (G2011)
My 2 year old got this toy for Christmas and loves it! It has really sparked her interest in counting, and she was already in to colors and stacking/sorting. My only complaint (a minor one) is that 2 of the ges have come unstuck. It was a quick fix with gorilla glue, but they probably shouldn't have come off that quickly with just normal wear and tear.

Reviews of POP for Addition and Subtraction Card Game
Math was a subject that I always dreaded when I was in school. Teachers made it boring and never seemed to thoroughly explain the process. When my own children started school, I wanted to ensure that Math was an enjoyable subject for them. I have tried the traditional flash cards and workbooks but the kids seemed to despise the activities after a few sessions.
Over this past summer, my kids attended the E.S.P. program provided by our local elementary school while I worked. They did a lot of educational activities with the kids but it's normal for students to lose some of what they had learned the previous year. My oldest son started the 3rd grade this year and I knew they'd soon be diving into multiplication as well as division. He had a good grasp of his math facts at the end of 2nd grade but over the summer, I noticed he had lost some of the quickness.
We let the kids choose at least one activity every evening as a family event. After the game arrived, my youngest wanted to play POP for Addition and Subtraction simply based on the fact that he thought it was a real gumball game. When he found out that there was some math involved, he actually became even more excited to play. He loved collecting as many gumballs as possible. By the end of the game, he was flying through the facts and I was impressed that his critical thinking skills had increased tremendously. He was quickly recognizing that 4+3 was the same as 3+4 and so on.
There are two levels of play as well as several alternative ways to make the game more fun and challenging based on your child's skill level! In Level 1, each player spins the spinner and removes that number of gumballs from the box. Each fact correctly solved is kept while incorrect answers result in "un-popped" cards that are placed in a separate pile. If a "POP!" card is drawn, all gumballs earned are returned to the box. The game ends when all gumballs are drawn from the box. The player with the most gumballs wins!
Level 2 helps test older children's skills by requiring each player to name 1, 2 or 3 math facts (determined by the spinner) to name math facts that have identical sums as the gumball drawn from the box. For example, if a 2+2 is drawn, the sum is 4 so to keep the gumball, correct answers would be 6-2, 8-4, 3+1, etc.
Alternative manners of play could include a timer, first player to 10 gumballs wins or even use the "POP!" card to take the other players' gumballs! Add your own variations to make it even more fun! We plan on keeping this game until my youngest son has the math skills mastered and then we'll donate the game to the school to help others!

My 5 year old may just have started Kindergarten, but I can tell already he is going to need a push to do homework and learn. He is definitely smart but also lazy so I know I have to be creative when coming up with "homework" practice for him. We reviewed this product for Learning Resources last year and we've had a great time ever since. The game is durable and easy to fit into the little breaks of our homeschool day. Orion 13039 2-Inch Crayford-Style Telescope Focuser Reviews
I have purchased from Orion before and they have always provided a quality product at a reasonable price. I purchased this because my old rack and pinion focusser on my 12.5-inch Newtonian finally stripped out after about thirty years of use. This focuser is at least as good as ones that cost much more. While it doesn't have a reduced action fine focus adjustment the oversized knobs provide plenty of control. The locking screw does just that the focus tube will not move when it is tightened down. Other Crayford focusers I have used still allow movement when they are locked down. I have seen complaints that it isn't a factory fit for their scope. So what!? Any time I purchase a new item for my scope I expect the need to perform some sort of fabrication or modification to adapt it. The only issue I have, and it's a minor one, is that the eyepiece lock screw doesn't use a brass ferrule. But, there are two of them on the 2" tube so as to reduce or eliminate any play in any eyepiece or camera you wish to attach. Once again, well worth the price.
Also, if you're tracking objects manually without a drive system, at higher magnifications you'll likely spend more hands on time tracking your object than focusing, so not much real opportunity for fine focus utilization. Finally at moderate and lower magnifications, focusing is or ought to be much easier, which also lessens a need for a fine focus usage.

I purchased this focuser in 2006 to improve an 8 inch F5 optical tube assembly I acquired that same year. I was pleased with the performance of this item. This focuser is put together well and turns consistently in relation to effort applied so that as long as you have a steady hand you'll be fine even at higher magnifications. It doesn't have fine adjustment knobs, which may not be a requirement as long as you're doing visual only astronomy (not taking long exposure pictures) and or not tracking an object with a drive system.Also, if you're tracking objects manually without a drive system, at higher magnifications you'll likely spend more hands on time tracking your object than focusing, so not much real opportunity for fine focus utilization. My youngest daughter is a panda fanatic. So, when she discovered that my brother and his wife are expecting a girl, she started searching for panda gear for the baby. This item is so adorable and looks like it will be great fun for the baby. I think my sister will like this product still, but after receiving it I am going to buy her small additional gift because this is a bit smaller than expected. I wish the box wasn't designed more for kids as I think most who want to to grown their own tea to drink are adults not children. We received the Teach Your Child to Count to 10 and Teach Your Child to Count to 20 sets (for a blog review). There are a total of 80 animals on these card sets and those really had my toddler excited. This second set has her thinking beyond the 1 to 10, while for a three year old those numbers are a little hard to grasp it really helps her to have a visual (without me scrambling to draw a visual myself). She likes playing with them on her own as well as locating all the animals on the card that shows each group. These cards are amazing! When I received these I was very amazed to find that they were filled with so many learning ideas. Not only are these cards set up to help you learn your numbers, but as a parent you also have the opportunity to use them in so many different ways. We used both of these sets with my youngest daughter who is 3.5. These Early Learning Game Cards are just the thing you need to help your child develop early learning skills. The animals on the cards really caught my 2 year old's attention. Only thing is, my 2 year old wanted to play with the cards more than pay attention to me but after about 2 months, of me and my oldest daughter working with her, she started to actually pick up on counting. I'm going to keep on with baby C and maybe by the time she's 3, she will sit still long enough! Review of LeapFrog Magnet Zoo Animal Playset
After the success and durability of the barnyard animals and vehicles mix and match toys, you'd think Leapfrog would have stuck with a good thing. But, no. They decided to make the pictures on the zoo animal pieces stickers instead of being painted. A few weeks of a toddler mouthing these pieces and the stickers peel. Both of my girls adored the farm animals one. What a disappointment.

This toy is fantastic, just like the other leap from fridge toys, my one year loves this. The only problem is that the animal pieces have stickers on them that portray each animal. About 24 hours after putting this toy on my fridge, my daughter had already destroyed two of the animals. As soon as she started mouthing the pieces, the stickers started coming off. In other versions of this toy (the Farm for example), the pieces are molded and painted to look like each animal, and they last forever. This version (zoo), is of much lower quality and much easier to destroy. This is a great toy, however, I don't recommend giving it to babies who like to chew on everything. The paper on the front of the animal pieces comes off very easily. I don't know why this product was produced with paper on the front, knowing that babies like to chew. As other have said, the animal pieces on this toy are stickers. They do not hold up well. My 18 month old loves the fridge farm and fridge phonics. I thought this would be fun for her. She does chew on the toys and I had hoped that the stickers would be slightly water proof or resistant. Nope. The animal pieces were destroyed in a day. This was such a disappointment, the keys wouldn't play at all. After picking it up, I realized something was lose inside. I opened it up to find that a bolt was lodged under the keyboard. This is a good activity book, but it is not really a journal or a diary. It leaves plenty of room to do things suggested in the book, but not blank pages. If you are looking for a book with blank pages, look elsewhere.
