This Monsters Inc. Leap Pad Books is my 6 year old son's hands down favorite! Although he has other leap pad books, this is the one he returns to time and again. He started by playing the games and then began reading along with the story. Highly recommended product, even fun for adults to play. !

Leap 2 Reading: Disney & Pixar's "Monsters, Inc." Review
Monsters, Inc. was a big hit with our family, so I had to pick this book up for my 4 year old daughter (even though it's recommended for 6-8). She loves this, and wants to play with it every day. A few of the games are hard for her, but mostly, it's no problem. She is a good reader, so the reading part is fine.

Multilingual Photo Cards - Animal Review
I was very pleased with these cards. I work in a child development center and bought these both for circle time and free play time and the kids love them. They'll sit around for twenty minutes looking over the pictures and showing them to each other. They've learned almost all the names and it's proved to be well worth the investment.

I used these in a lesson with my ELL students. The photographs were very clear and the different languages were helpful. I will certainly continue using them in a variety of ways.Best Deals for Multilingual Photo Cards - Animal
I like the variety of languages. Instead of telling the languages on each card, it has the translated word and a key symbol. You have to refer to another card with the symbol key. Seems like an unnecessary step.Saturday, November 29, 2014

Using 25 Watt iron and enough solder to cover the pads easily damages the circuit board. Pads then become lifted and broken off, but this is invisible to the eye. The toy then does not work because there are multiple broken connections. Spent an hour fixing it very frustrating! Otherwise great toy!
The board is relatively poor in quality, but not as poor as some of the reviews. It's certainly not something you want to solder too long and the pads do lift easily. If you are careful, and have some patience though, you should be able to assemble this within an hour or so easily. The instructions are relatively decent, but I don't understand the third screw near the bottom. Even though it is a small board, the LEDs are bright and make an impressive show. Overall a quick, decent project. The seller perhaps charges a little much for this kit, but it was fun.

I bought this product to make as a gift in addition to other things on Valentine's Day. When the kit arrived, it was a bit smaller than expected, but still had that "Cute" appeal to it. I opened everything up and counted everything out and there was an extra LED and everything else was fine. The board is relatively poor in quality, but not as poor as some of the reviews. this is a relatively simple little electronics kit that makes a great gift if you know how to do some soldering. it was relatively simple to assemble, I referenced the picture of the completed item to make sure i wasn't putting in anything backwards. Girls usually really appreciate a gift you actually make yourself, and my girlfriend really loved this one.Honest reviews on Velleman Flashing LED Sweetheart : MK101

My boyfriend bought and made this for me for Valentine's Day I thought it was very sweet and unique, especially seeing I like geeky stuff. He said it didn't take him very long to put together (maybe half an hour) and had fun doing it. My only complaint is that there isn't an ON/OFF switch and that you have to take the entire battery out to stop it flashing. But for only $10, you can't go wrong!Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups Reviews

STACK AND ROLL CUPS
My 14 month old grand-daughter AND her grandma LOVE this toy! We have spent many happy hours playing with these fantastic little cups! I would love to meet the genius who invented these.
This toy can do a multitude of things -you can stack them, roll them, put fun stuff inside, put them together! When they are together, we roll them, stack them, spin them, throw them! Paige runs around the house, holding two of them! She loves to bang them together! What FUN!!!
The colors are bright, the cups have special little designs on each one, along with numbers too. They are durable and withstand little hands, feet, even rear ends!
This is one of my favorite toys to play with. I have started purchasing these as baby gifts for friends. The ways you can entertain with these stack and roll cups are numerous; Paige and I constantly find ways to have fun with these. One of our favorite ways to play with these cups is to take them apart and place them side-by-side on the floor. They look so pretty! Then, we take little rubber ducks and sit them on top of each cup. Now, this is fun!
It is also fun to SNAP!!! these cups together, they inter-mingle and can fit together with other sizes nicely. The SNAP!!!! sound seems to make a funny impression on toddlers!
Get some of these cups for the babies in your life. You will all have a great time. Not only are they FUN, but they serve as an educational tool with the different colors, designs, and numbers. Babies will not even know they are learning because they are having so much fun!!!
Thank you!
Pam
There is a hole in every piece, which are great for baby fingers to grab on to. She can easily hold even the largest piece. The downside of the holes is that they don't hold water for pouring in the bathtub, but she still likes to play with them a lot in the tub.
They are very durable; they have withstood many throws and drum hits on our hardwood floor.
Educational uses: The colors are great -the red/orange fit together for the balls; the yellows, greens, blues, purples do the same. Additionally, each bowl has small indentions of shapes around the hole. So the pieces with the triangles go together; the pieces with the stars go together, etc. There is also a number on each piece: 1 through 10, big through little.

This would make it on my top five list of toys for a toddler. There seem to be an infinite number of ways to play with these -the cups can be stacked in different ways, with handy ridges that allow each size to fit on any of the larger sizes and stay together; they can be put together to make 5 different balls, nested, and any combination of these things (my older kids like nesting the balls inside eachother). Since each one has a hole they are easy for my 15 month old to grab, and now she has discovered that after you snap them together as balls, they make a cool sound when you talk through one end. Even my 6 and 8 year old boys enjoy finding new things to do with these cups. We like rolling and stacking the balls after they're made, putting various small toys inside each ball and peeking in to see them, and just stacking the cups in different ways. Sometimes they are cups or bowls for pretend eating or drinking. Or they're hats, or telescopes. The colors are beautiful, and we haven't even started exploring the numbers/shapes on them yet. They also feel indestructible. I love that the whole toy, when nested together, takes up little space. This is one excellently crafted, well-designed toy that encourages creativity and good fun, with an infinite number of uses for the imaginative kid.Best Deals for Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups
I got this before my son was born and he first used it he when was about 5 months old. He liked banging the cups together. The yellow jingly ball for the top is one of his favorite things to carry around the house. He is a year now, and is figuring out how to stack the cups. He also has enjoyed rolling the balls, spinning the balls, and shaking the balls, with other items inside to make rattles. The cups are indestructable and are fun to use everywhere, including the bath tub and kiddie pool. Definitely a great toy, that is well worth the money for many hours of creative fun and learning.Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups
This toy looks so fun, and has educational value on several levels, but it turned out to be very frustrating simply because the cups are more than a little difficult to take apart. The children at my daycare were delighted with the colors, and with the whole concept of nesting and stacking, but when they were all nested together into one ball, it was impossible for the children to open them and difficult, to say the least, even for me. Also, they're slippy-slidey when stacked together, although that's not a big problem. I'm really disappointed. I expect to be able to make a purchase with confidence from a respected name like Fisher Price.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups
I love that these bowls stack, nest, connect as balls, and I love the colors. I got these for my daughter when she was about 8 months, and now she's 14 months old. She does not play with them on her own as much as I thought she would, which is why I gave it 4 not 5 stars. I think these would be great for kids a bit older who get the stacking concept-you really have to push them together to get them to stack big to small. She loves the Jingle smile face ball and will grab that the most. She also loves to roll around the balls when they are put together more than anything else. There is a hole in every piece, which are great for baby fingers to grab on to. Reviews of POP for Addition and Subtraction Card Game
Math was a subject that I always dreaded when I was in school. Teachers made it boring and never seemed to thoroughly explain the process. When my own children started school, I wanted to ensure that Math was an enjoyable subject for them. I have tried the traditional flash cards and workbooks but the kids seemed to despise the activities after a few sessions.
Over this past summer, my kids attended the E.S.P. program provided by our local elementary school while I worked. They did a lot of educational activities with the kids but it's normal for students to lose some of what they had learned the previous year. My oldest son started the 3rd grade this year and I knew they'd soon be diving into multiplication as well as division. He had a good grasp of his math facts at the end of 2nd grade but over the summer, I noticed he had lost some of the quickness.
We let the kids choose at least one activity every evening as a family event. After the game arrived, my youngest wanted to play POP for Addition and Subtraction simply based on the fact that he thought it was a real gumball game. When he found out that there was some math involved, he actually became even more excited to play. He loved collecting as many gumballs as possible. By the end of the game, he was flying through the facts and I was impressed that his critical thinking skills had increased tremendously. He was quickly recognizing that 4+3 was the same as 3+4 and so on.
There are two levels of play as well as several alternative ways to make the game more fun and challenging based on your child's skill level! In Level 1, each player spins the spinner and removes that number of gumballs from the box. Each fact correctly solved is kept while incorrect answers result in "un-popped" cards that are placed in a separate pile. If a "POP!" card is drawn, all gumballs earned are returned to the box. The game ends when all gumballs are drawn from the box. The player with the most gumballs wins!
Level 2 helps test older children's skills by requiring each player to name 1, 2 or 3 math facts (determined by the spinner) to name math facts that have identical sums as the gumball drawn from the box. For example, if a 2+2 is drawn, the sum is 4 so to keep the gumball, correct answers would be 6-2, 8-4, 3+1, etc.
Alternative manners of play could include a timer, first player to 10 gumballs wins or even use the "POP!" card to take the other players' gumballs! Add your own variations to make it even more fun! We plan on keeping this game until my youngest son has the math skills mastered and then we'll donate the game to the school to help others!
The Learning Resources "POP for Addition" game is a fun way to get kids to work on math problems while playing a game! It includes 90 addition and subtraction problems on little cardboard gum balls and then 10 POP cards for a spin on the game. To play you spin the spinner and pick 1-3 gumballs to solve. For each one you solve you keep, putting the others aside to practice later. The goal of the game of course is to collect the most gumballs. The POP cards allow you to put a spin on the game, with suggestions for gameplay on the box. Everything stores nicely in the sturdy cardboard box. Its funny how something so simple can be so appealing to kids. The gumballs (cards) are bright and perfectly sized for little hands. This is definitely a fun way for kids 6 and up (or sooner if you want to start) to start working on their math problems!

My 5 year old may just have started Kindergarten, but I can tell already he is going to need a push to do homework and learn. He is definitely smart but also lazy so I know I have to be creative when coming up with "homework" practice for him. Buy Solderless Breadboard w/ 140 piece Wire Kit (Contact Points-3,220)
I came across this item searching for a second board for projects and found others that were not as expansive as this one! It has four tie-in columns(vertical rows), a two row (horizontal) power strip, and various connection/tie-in points. It is great if you want to build a three stage amplifier circuit since you can isolate each stage thereby reducing unwanted noise from being picked up into your circuit. I feel it beats many other breadboards due to the fact that it is very big and you can easily spread out your circuits throughout this board which decreases time spent on troubleshooting. You can always get a breadboard which has more "bells and whistles" such as power switches and voltage/current displays which would run you a pretty penny, but if you have a multimeter already whats the point! This one is not as expensive, easy to use, and my school even purchases products from R.S.R. electronics. Great seller, great product, and I highly recommend using this board for various electronic projects that you may have.

Discount LeapFrog Twinkle Twinkle Little
My daughter has the larger "Violet" Leap Frog toy and I purchased this cute mini version (I have the purple violet one... only difference is the color) for a long car trip. She LOVES this and it's her new "nighttime" toy. The little moon lights up. It has three buttons off, a "short" little song such as ("Naptime's here, my eyes, they close...") and then either 10 or 20 minutes of lullabies or nighttime music. The little "Blankie" is removable/washable and threads through the moon to stay put. My daughter is 10 months old. She puts the blanket up to her face and uses it to soothe herself to sleep. Highly recommend! (FYI you cannot customize your child's name like the bigger Violet/Scout).
thank you whoever created this. thank you from the bottom of my heart.
When you push the sleepy time button it doesn't play the music or the nature sounds immediately. Instead it is a woman's voice says "10 min of lullabies, (press again) "20min of lullabies", (press again) "10 min of nature sounds", (press again) "20 min of nature sounds" before playing any music or nature sounds. I'm not sure if my daughter is repeatedly pressing the button trying to find the music and nature sounds because she is only hearing the woman's voice or if she is just pressing buttons.
The low volume is still a little loud but it works and I suppose it drowns out any other background noise that is happening in the house.
I like that it will play for 20 min. I like that it has the option of lullabies or nature sounds. I like the songs it plays.
Overall I am thinking of getting another seahorse for this second child since it is so easy for them to turn on by themselves, i just wish it had nature sounds.

Love Little Violet, my two girls had Glo Worms and neither one was impressed with them. I personally didn't like its hard face and fact that it played music for such a short time. Little Violet is much better, longer playing (10 & 20 minute settings) and is soft. My 7 mos old baby girl loves her naptime & settling in on car trips. Small kids like to push buttons and 3 buttons are too much for a child in the middle of the night. The sleep button is hard for my 20 month old to find when she is trying to turn it on herself while sleepy yet, the power button is in just the right place to turn the the sounds off as soon as she tries to cuddle it. The play time/nap button is the button seems to be the easiest to access. When you push the sleepy time button it doesn't play the music or the nature sounds immediately. Reviews of Jill McDonald Kids Soft Book, Animal
This is a great book for little fingers! It is great for little ones that love to explore textures and flaps as many of the animals feature felt pieces that are moveable (i.e. the lion's mane, the panda's ears and hands). It is also has a more "attractive" look than some baby books, which makes it a win/ win (let's be honest, us mommies have to look at these toys all day, too!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I feel like they could've made a few of the pages a little more interesting for little fingers instead of sewing all the pieces down. For example, the pages with the tiger, monkey, crocodile and elephant have no pieces that are made to be flaps, but they easily could've been. The tiger's hands or the elephant's ear, etc. Probably nit-picky, but that would take this book 5-star level.
Otherwise, I absolutely love this book and highly recommend it for babies during tummy time, for those learning to sit up, etc. It would also make a great gift since it's so cute ;)

Reviews of Learning Resources Penguins on Ice - Math Activity Set
I bought this manipulative set to use with my young daughter who was so bored at school that she was learning very little. These penguins are so fun she could not resist them. The penguins are about 2 inches tall and are made of a pleasant-to-the-touch vinyl type of material. There are ten colors, and ten penguins of each color = 100 penguins. After we've done math with the penguins, we practice counting and colors in Spanish. If you are interested in the coloring strip pictured with the listing, you should know that they provide you with one original as part of the instruction book, and you copy it to make the strips yourself. We are not using the coloring strips, ourselves.)

Be creative and come up with new ideas about color patterns and ways to count and do math, and this toy/learning resource will be wonderful. If you're expecting it to provide detailed game ideas and activities with rules, it doesn't. It's made of good quality material and will last. The penguins are cute, and colors vivid (brown looks exactly like chocolate!), but other than that, there are 100 identical shaped penguins and 10 bars to put them on, which semi hook together. My toddlers girls had the penguins on the ends of their fingers like finger puppets and the boy created an "army" of them lined up on his glacier bars. We each had a pile and traded with each other according to color.Best Deals for Learning Resources Penguins on Ice - Math Activity Set

I just wanted to note that if you are going to purchase these, note that you do NOT have to go and purchase well OBVIOUSLY all three separately as this is the SET; but moreover, the "Key Education Publishing More Emotions Learning Cards," by Key Education Publishing More Emotions Learning Cards are already included in the 'emotion' deck. Mind you, they are the size of the cards, generally vs. if you buy the emotion cards themselves... (24-55x88")... well you can see they are much BIGGER than the Language Builder Emotion Card set of a little bigger than 5x4 inches. But really? Do you need pictures that big?
And to be honest, while yeah, they work for their purposes for like ABA.. but they can be somewhat confusing images. Even I am like, what is that kid doing? thinking? FEELING? How am I supposed to know that means sick versus tired?! That's one problem I've always had with ABA [though don't knock it til you try it GOD HELP ME IT HELPED MY SON MUCH], but one needs to know not just the label of something, but the meaning behind it. Understanding emotions is difficult, just know that this too will come with time :)

Reviews of LeapPad: Puzzle Pack Interactive Puzzles and Cartridge
My 3 year old and 4 year old love the puzzles even my 6 year old has fun putting them together and playing the games. This is wonderful for motor development as well as helping the kids to learn their ABC's and numbers. Each puzzle has 3 games to play to make learning fun. What a wonderful idea I hope Leap Frog comes out with more puzzles like these.
I would highly recommend this product for the younger ages. It really keeps their attention, doesn't overwhelm them, is durable and they pick up puzzle manipulation skills very quickly.

This is the first time I have been compelled to write a review on Amazon. This product is terrific for many reasons. The heavy cardboard tray fits right into the surface of the Leap Pad, and is much more durable than the regular books. The problem where the cord for the pen damages regular books is not a problem for the puzzles! The Leap pen works whether a puzzle piece is already in the tray or whether just the slightly faded picture is visible because the piece is not yet in the tray. We have lost a piece and it is not a problem because everything still operates correctly. On the animal alphabet especially, the placement of the animals at intersections of the puzzle cuts makes it really easy for a child to learn about puzzles. My daughter is 2 years 3 months and she says "Where's fox nose?" or "I find newt tail!" It is amazing to see the connections happening for her. She is still not interested in the letter concept, but there are plenty of animal noises and interesting facts to keep her really interested while putting the puzzle together. She is not quite as interested in the Winnie the Pooh number puzzle, but still enjoys it.I would highly recommend this product for the younger ages. It really keeps their attention, doesn't overwhelm them, is durable and they pick up puzzle manipulation skills very quickly.

These puzzles are the best puzzles I have ever seen! The best thing about them is the picture is imprinted on the board so that your child will be able to tell where the piece goes. My daughter was 2 when we first got these and she started understanding how to put a puzzle together. She's 3 now and puts them together all by herself. She's so proud of her accomplishments and it gives this mommy a few minutes to do something I want :-)Honest reviews on LeapPad: Puzzle Pack Interactive Puzzles and Cartridge
my kids enjoyed them until the pieces wouldn't fit together anymore. they started peeling on the edges. now we have a cartridge and no game boards.Sunday, July 6, 2014
Reviews of Leap Frog My First LeapPad Learning Desk
Very easy to put together took only minutes. Perfect size for young children. *TIP TO BUYER* no cartridge is needed for the leap pad player it is already programed in. I spent several minutes trying to find one, just put in the batteries and thats all you need. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Extremely happy!
To a lesser extent a little irritating that someone would rate the product lower for not coming with a cartridge that goes with the stock "ABC" book. You see, that book works with the leap-pad when there is no cartridge it doesn't need one. And yes, this is not made of crayon proof materials also keep in mind that it's neither blowtorch or sledgehammer proof, nor will it last long in a raging fire. Washable crayons, however, tend to wash right off, oddly enough. If you have a 2 year old, you might want to consider them.
As for the desk I got a decent deal on the schoolbus "My First Leap-pad", but returned it when I saw this was on sale for only $15 more! The desk itself is very sturdy, easy to assemble, and nice looking. Threw away the crayons that came with, and I will insist on supervising the stamp set, which looks nice. The activity pad and notebook are nice extras, quickly spent. The surface of the desk holds the leap-pad very nicely, but this same brace to hold the pad prevents many coloring books from fitting entirely on the desk surface. The chair is far from ergonomic, but perfect for her 5-10 minute stints at the desk.
As for the leap-pad, I'm very happy. Easy to use and very durable. The content of the 5 pads we bought with this seems appropriate educational, but not so advanced as to confuse a toddler and the best one might be the stock "ABC" book that works without a cartridge. Once again, if I were to nitpick, it would be that the on/off button is the most prominently displayed. My daughter is really getting the hang of using this, but she still is drawn first to the power button and often turns it off while in a button pushing frenzy.
Overall, I'd rate the leap-pad very high on it's own, and the entire pad/desk ensemble even higher.

This is a really good desk. My son just turned 3 and recieved it for his bday. He sits in it all day on and off and just loves to use the pen and the book. I highly recommend this desk !!!!!! The desk if very light also so you can carry it up stairs and downstairs like we do. The chair is pretty sturdy as well so you don't really have to worry about your child falling over.Best Deals for Leap Frog My First LeapPad Learning Desk
My son recieved this desk for Christmas. He turned 2 in August and has become increasingly interested in drawing and learning how to write. I think that the desk is very cute but I am concerned by how small the chair is. My son is big for his age. He is about 37" and 42 pounds and although he can sit in it fine now, I am not sure how long he will be able to. It does not have much back support making it almost like a stool instead of a chair. My only other complaint is that there isn't much room to draw on because the little storage compartment where the leappad goes takes up a significant portion of the desk. A standard (8 1/2 x 11) sheet of paper needs to be tilted to the side to fit completely. I would have liked for the desk to be a little wider. Other than that I like the desk and more importantly, my son enjoys himself. He has been walking around with the leap pad all day and when he sits at the table he likes to use the stencils. I agree with the other reviewer about the size of the on/off button. Little eyes/hands are drawn to it. The desk is very easy to put together(although the screws are a bit difficult to find), so easy in fact that my son helped me to snap on the legs of the table and chairs!!!!!!!!Honest reviews on Leap Frog My First LeapPad Learning Desk
I must say I am extremly pleased w/ this purchase! Very easy to set up...less than 5 minutes. And my son LOVES IT! He is learning from it and spends hours with it. I was skeptical at first as the LeapFrogs products and how well it entertained and if it really taught them at a pre-school level. My son is 2 1/2 and is finally saying and recognizing his numbers and alphabet due to this product. so A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Extremely happy!

Let's see, we've got a pretentious crazy person equating a child's activity desk with being restrained. My daughter, 20 months, loves coloring at this desk and she's grasped the leap-pad surprisingly well. Unfortunately, she's showing remarkable creativity and a desire to read what a sucker! Thanks for that helpful review. To a lesser extent a little irritating that someone would rate the product lower for not coming with a cartridge that goes with the stock "ABC" book. Melody House MH-D14 Multiplication Motivation- CD Review
ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO, I WENT THROUGH A TRAINING BY DR. PAUL SHOECRAFT THAT WAS OFFERED BY A TEXAS UNIVERSITY. THE CASSETTE VERSION OF THIS TAPE WAS OFFERED AS PART OF THE PROGRAM. I USED THIS CASSETTE FOR MORE THAN 17 YEARS. THE CASSETTE AND PLAYER WERE STOLEN ONE EVENING. I HAD LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR A REPLACEMENT AND FOUND IT HERE ON AMAZON.COM. I HAVE HAD ADULTS RETURN TO ME IN THEIR MID-TWENTIES THAT WERE THIRD GRADE STUDENTS OF MINE...SOME OF THEM WILL BREAK INTO SONGS FROM THIS CD. IT TRULY WORKS...THOSE ADULTS STILL REMEMBER THE SONGS THEY LEARNED IN THIRD GRADE. THE ORDER IS FILLED BY A THIRD PARTY THAT SELLS THROUGH AMAZON.COM. I ORDERED THIS ON A SUNDAY EVENING AND RECEIVED IT ON TUESDAY.

This is the same CD that was used on the teaching channel by Ms. Saul, at least I think that was her name. This music has been around for awhile as I used it in my student teaching class quite a few years ago. However, the songs are still fun and very catchy as I still remembered some of them from 15+ years ago. They all have a different tune. My children haven't listened to the CD yet, but I'm sure once they do they will be singing the songs to help them remember answers.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Melody House MH-D14 Multiplication Motivation- CD
