I bought these for my 5 mos. old daughter and for a 5 to 7 mos. old I think they are kind of big, but once they can easily hold them they are great. My 10 mos. daughter who now has two teeth loves them. I keep one in the stroller, and one in the diaper bag. I think she likes the foot slightly better, but she does play with the hand too.

Okay. I bought this for dd b/c she is an early teether but she couldn't manipulate it very well until now, almost 5 months. The hand is nice but still too thick/big for real little ones. Unfotunately there really isn't much out there for early teethers. This will work.

I like the packaging and the colors. The silicone texture is nice for holding and the baby seems to enjoy them as well.

Bought these for my daughter and they are just ok. What can you expect for a couple of bucks? I was looking for something more rubbery and they are plastic with water in them and they aren't completely filled. I probably wouldn't purchase again.

I really like this Lego Table because you can use the Duplo blocks for toddlers and then later as the child grows you can flip the top to regular size Lego blocks. It is very sturdy and my two-year old grandson really likes it.

This is a great idea. But, after awhile with just 4 books loaded on it, it will get boring. To bad there isn't a way to down load more stories. The story selection is great, the bus itself is durable. It does come with the books, thats nice. I bought this for my 5 year old, he enjoys it. It's great for quiet time.

We found this item at a warehouse store for a great value and my 4/5 year old loves it so much. Yes, there are "only" 4 stories on it, but how great is it that she can take the small but powerful school bus speaker and listen to the book of her choice? The unit is plenty small for little hands. There is a pause function but beware if paused too long, the story will go back to the beginning and you will have to start all over. We love the voices, music and sound effects. Moms can only do so much at story time the added music and soft spoken tones during the quieter stories are perfect. Well done. We are searching for more of these.

My 14 month old grandson loves these and goes for them more often than the Weebles we have. They flip over and are never upside down. They are slightly smaller than the other brand and fit inside a little truck he plays with at our house.

Topzy Tumblers (aka "Weebles" in our household) are a favorite with kids, parents, and grandparents alike. These are a great toy for little hands to pick up and the wobbling, rolling path it takes is fun for crawlers and toddlers. Even the older grandkid (1st grade) likes them, using them as "eggs" for his toy snakes. The original set is several years old and still going strong through the third grandchild. These were a recent addition for the latest baby.

These toys are my daughter's absolute favorite. She's loved them for 4 months, through a couple of stages of development. She really gets a kick out of the way they shake versus other toys and she loves to chases them around since their path is unpredictable. A must have, IMO.

I got this for my daughter, who is almost 15 months; a bit under the recommended age, but we supervise her with everything. She LOVES this toy, and it makes us laugh. Three settings: acoustic, electric, and "howl", and boy, do we howl with laughter at the funny little songs it plays. It has a little bone-shaped whammy bar that plays a pre-recorded guitar bit. The strap has a velcro bit so you can open it (she was trying to put it around her neck, but I worried about her choking), and there are so many songs, not just the funny little dog parody songs, but instrumental ditties using acoustic, electric, and howl. True, it takes some effort to use the little strumming bit; it's not sensitive or intuitive. She's not interested in that part, though, and I tried it out at the store before I bought it, so I knew what we were getting into. It was a big hit. Sometimes we adults parents, grandparents, and uncles all play with it when she's sleeping. It's well-built, solid, super cute, and funny. Volume control, too, plus, if you bop him on the nose, he shuts up. :)

The song parodies it does might teach your kids different words to common songs, like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is "Yip yip, bark bark, bow-wow-wow, how I wish dogs just me-owed, what a racket all night long...", "Fancy Poodle" for "Yankee Doodle", etc. I don't care, but some folks might. I think it's cute.

He does whimper sadly if you ignore him, though. Just once, then he stops.

This guitar does so much! My son has had this toy for 2 months and we are still discovering new songs it plays.

There are several different ways to play this guitar. It has three modes: acoustic, electric and "woof." All are great. Kids can strum chord progressions, and play different notes on the scale (along the dog's back). The bone plays fun riffs, too.

The lyrics to the songs are hilarious (a song book comes with the guitar so you can sing along). The melodies are familiar and cover lots of different genres. There's even a song that sounds like a kid's version of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven."

I haven't even scratched the surface in this review -just buy this guitar. You'll LOVE it! (oh yeah, and your kid will love it, too)

We have owned this toy for 2 years and our children have enjoyed it. HOWEVER, the neck strap is very dangerous. My daughter was playing with it yesterday and twisted the guitar too many times. By the time I saw her, her entire face was dark red and she was terrified. I can't stand to think about what would have happened if I hadn't seen her in time. She could not get it untwisted. When it twists in this manner, the Velcro release strap is impossible to get to. We have contacted the company and they were not concerned in the least. I have cut the strap off of my guitar but will not be buying any more toys of this brand unless they issue a recall.

I got this for my son for his 2nd birthday and it's the best toy he's ever had. It keeps him occupied alone for hours when I need to do something else. My daughter LOVES the Whoozit! She has the female version (pink body instead of blue). This toy has a red heart that makes the "crinkling" noise when you play with it. Because it is red and makes the noise it is my daughter's favorite part of the toy. Since she's teething, she loves to put it into her mouth and chew on it. Unfortunately, she was chewing on it one day in the grocery store when the red heart got lodged in her throat. She was not breathing at all. Luckily, I was right in front of her, noticed it, and immediately pulled out the toy. I just can't help but wonder what might have happened if I had not been standing right there with her when it happened. I've told several of my friends about this and they told me of similar stories they have heard from other people. From now on, I tuck the red heart into the inside of the toy (between the two body sections) so my daughter can't get to it. All the kids who I've seen playing with it seem to love the Whoozit, but the one crinkle piece is a choking hazard.

I love this toy, but more importantly, my baby loves this toy. We got it for her when she was 3 months old, and she has loved it ever since. I proceeded to buy almost every toy in this line because she loves it so much! My daughter, now 10 months, loves to play and chew on the hanging things, and she laughs at the face. It is also very portable, and is small enough to bring anywhere. It can be attached by the loop and velcro to almost anything. An absolute must for any baby!

I LOVE this toy!!! I received it as a gift before my son was born and it just sort of sat in the pile of baby toys I was accumulating. When he was just over a month old and really beginning to see things, I started pulling out toys to see if any would catch his interest. The Whoozit won out over all of them. He could grab the Whoozits arms even with his tiny hands and he gets older he "discovers" more about the toy and still enjoys playing with it. While the beginning age range is 3 months, don't wait! Our Whoozit is what seemed to draw my son's interest the earliest and it's a great toy to help with naptime and car rides.

I'm so bummed because my infant loves this toy, and I lost it. I went to purchase it for him again, and somewhere along the way was directed to a great website that tests products for contaminants. I looked up this product, and found out the red nose contains lead and bromine. The nose is what my son sucked on the most. I rated everything a 5-star because it is fun, education, etc., but the fact that pieces of the product contain carginogens and lead made me rate is overall a 1, and I will not be purchasing this product. Manhattan Toy, PLEASE clean up your product. Here's the website, and just enter the manufacture name when you search for items.

I ordered the Zometool DNA kit to begin constructing their model. Inside the Jar is a large fold out in color with instructions numbered (1) through (7) for constructing the model.

I had some questions about this model, and I called their offices in Colorado and they offered to mail me some parts for free. The person I spoke to was very, very helpful, and took the time to resolve my problem.

Zomes construction for the DNA DOUBLE HELIX begins by pairing up the Nucleotides. The outer spiralling Helixes are built and a central Zome vertical Pillar is constructed for support. In the last step, the central Pillar pieces are removed, and the Zome Model stands vertical upon a table etc.

I liked the Zome people and I liked their product.

It is interesting, that I have had phone contact with the suppliers of several of these educational models. I think it is a nice way to learn something about the quality of the product, by surveying the quality of the company producing it and marketing it.

I can recommend Zome's DNA model highly. The Internet has some excellent instruction on the Nucleotides and the Double Helix.

This DNA kit helped with hands on visual of what DNA looks like. It helps for understanding of the components. The only thing I was disappointed in was the photo shows a full container and the container was really only half full of parts. My 13yr put it together without instructions in less than 15 minutes. He did say however that it was a good teaching tool.

Educational Insights Estimation Station Review

Educational Insights Estimation Station
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This is lightweight and plastic, which makes sense for the price. The "Estimation Station" and turning knob on the front are actually on a sticker. My kids are delighted with our big fancy upgrade from a big glass jar, and the scoop enhances the function of the estimation station by increasing the number sense aspect for students.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I ordered this to teach estimation with my second graders. It was perfect. They get it and they love doing it because whatever I fill it with, they get to have one when we are done. Small, easy to fill and fun way to practice estimation for any age.

Best Deals for Educational Insights Estimation Station

This kit includes an Estimation Station which has the station with a lid and cup. You pour whatever you want in the box and it makes it an easier way for kids to make educated guesses. I admit I am always amazed at how people can make guesses on those jars of candy and other items. I am always way off! With this, I am trying to work on our guesses and teaching my kids with it. I would have never thought it was something I should think about but I am amazed at what you can learn from it. I am working on how big things (like marshmallows) take up a lot of room but count for a little and then there are items like jellybeans that you can fit a whole lot of. My boys thought it was so funny how we added things and worked on counting with them.

The top does come off so you can store the items or carry them along, there is a lid too that attaches to keep the items contained. It also makes it easy to clean it. This is great for both parents to work with or teachers.

Cheap Fisher-Price PowerTouch Learning System

Fisher-Price PowerTouch Learning System
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
First the description: You open it up, slip in the book --simple enough for my son (3 yrs old) to do himself, even changing the cartridge - and switch it on, you are set! This is an incredible improvement over LeapPad and My First LeapPad for a totally self directed learning experience. He has never ended up frustrated while using this toy.

About the add-ons, I currently have two and he enjoys the I Spy even though he is not in the recommended age group. He is able to follow along anything it requires. The volume slide is so nice and easy vs having to hit + and symbols with a pen on the LeapPads. The Blues Clues one is for his age group and he loves that too.

Now for more comparisons:

I own both the Leap Pad, and the My first Leap Pad for my now 3 year old son. I would pass on that and go for this toy. After more than 1 1/2 years of owning them, I still need to pull them out for him, and watch over and remind him to hit the GO circle etc. In fact, he probably prefers a paper book to them, given that with normal 23 yr old boy handling, the pen's contacts are iffy, and the pads shut off at random etc after just a few months of use. I have to say, he does truly enjoy the Dora, Thomas, Jay-Jay, Bob the Builder, Bear in the Big Blue house etc. theme books for the Leap Pad / My First Leap Pad also.

And as for Leap Pad Plus, lets just say that the same GO circle, and delicate pen problems still exist for a rambunctious boy :-) I DO like the Imagination Desk, which does get him coloring and sounding out letters and words quite a bit, especially with Pooh Bear, or Clifford. Wish they had a familiar character themed alphabet book too for that as well as the leap pad. If you look at the parent complaining about a stray wrist making other stuff on the page sound out with the Power Touch, imagine a stray pen touch resetting the entire page to some other GO circle. Much easier to teach them to point. At least, here the sounds relate to the page under view always. I pull out the Leap Pad occasionaly if I have a sore throat and can't get through the dozens of books he likes for night time reading. My son pulls out and plays with the Power Touch by himself. Enough said with that...

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

We just bought this for my 2-year-old daughter for her birthday after having played with the display at Target over and over again. Her first response was "WOW!". This book is a big improvement over the LeapPad systems as it allows your child to use his/her finger to guide them rather than a pen. It is definitely more user-friendly for the younger kids because they do not need to touch the "go" circle to make the book work; a concept good for the older kids only. It comes with 2 books to get started: A Sesame Street book and a k-2 grade learning guide. If fisher price can get their power touch library expanded to include more titles sooner rather than later, it will give Leappad a run for its money.

Best Deals for Fisher-Price PowerTouch Learning System

...First of all this goes from ages 3-8 instead of leap pads two age groups. (my first leap pad only 3-5 and regular is 4-8). Secondly I like that he points with his finger like you would in a regular book. Who reads a book with a pen? I would rather teach him to read without the stylus. It is a great product I am just hoping to see more books especially phonics.

Honest reviews on Fisher-Price PowerTouch Learning System

I first bought the "little touch leap pad" by Leap Frog for my son two months ago (which is actually the system in the leap frog series for the very youngest children, ages 6-36 months, NOT the leap frog system with the pen), and the Power Touch two weeks ago.

The Power Touch is a much better system for the younger child, even thought the recommended age is 3-8 yrs.

With the little touch you have to push very hard on a specific spot on the picture, pushing again and again until it makes a sound. Usually he would give up on a picture before it did anything, and it was even hard for ME to get the thing to activate! I have no idea how any 1 year old would do it, let alone a 6 month old!!! I was amazed to see how sensitive the Power Touch was (it would even activate if I only placed my finger in the air right over the picture!). And yes, sometimes my son would accidently brush a picture with his wrist (like other reviewers complained about), but as soon as he touched the picture he meant too, the sound would automatically switch to that new picture, so he has never become frustrated with it. In fact, sometimes he loves to switch rapidly from one picture to another (like all 2 yr olds, he's not exactly a model of patience!) and the power touch keeps up. He was VERY frustrated with the "little touch".

Another thing is the pages of the books. Leap Pad falsely claims that the "little touch" books are made to be sturdy/untearable for 1-2 yr olds. Instead the pages were made of regular paper. I'm really surprised that that such a well known company would put misleading statements on it's box. The power touch has laminated pages which are definitely sturdier (although it would be nice if they put out the younger books in thicker pages). Also, the books for the little touch are just terrible. They focus mainly on the ABC's, shapes, numbers, (which is boring to such a young child) with nothing else. The story line of the books were way too complicated for my son to understand (and he loves most books). Power touch has characters like elmo and clifford, which he likes a lot. I wish Power Touch had more books available, but one book really does have a zillion different pictures and activities that grow with the child.

Lastly, that dumb green "go" button on the Leap pad made it impossible for him to play with it by himself, and I had to always be pushing it every time he flipped a page back or forward, which constantly distracted him from the book. He wanted to read on his own, but I had to lean over and reset each page, or the words and sounds would be for a different page (now that is MUCH more confusing to a 2 yr old than accidently setting off a sound w/ a brush of the wrist)!

He plays with the power touch for an hour at a time, and loves it. He can read it all by himself, turn to any page he wants, and he even learned to change the books himself after a week! (The Power Touch books are so simple to change).

When he is older, maybe 4 or 5, I will probably get him a leap frog system with a pen (the leap pad for 4-8 yr olds), so he'll be able to get practice with writing, and the leap frog has a lot more for the older child. By then, he will be able to figure out the puzzling "green go" button. But until then, for a 2 or 3 year old, no system beats the Power Touch. The Little Touch Leap Pad was misleading, a complete waste of money and a big disappointment. Never have I bought a toy more disappointing, and this was expensive ([$$$] w/ a book)!

I bought this for my daughter and she will hardly put it down. It has taught her so much in the short amount of time we have had it. It is so entertaining, with all the different characters

she loves. I would defintely recommend this over leap pad. With leap pad a small child has to remember to push the "GO" button everytime she turns the page, with fisher Price, all she does is turn the page.

I bought this to go with my daughters leappad 2 that she is getting for Christmas. So far the only problem I have experienced is that the gel skin is somewhat difficult to put on and the holes on the side for the stylus are somewhat off. The gel skin is not as pliable as I expected which will probably give more protection however makes it difficult to put on. Other than that, so far so good.
