Bright Starts Having a Ball Press & Zoom Pals - Airplane Review
Really cute bright and colorful. Easy for little hands to grasp and play with. This one is starting out as a nursery decoration for a baby boy, and will go into his toy box when it is time.

Travel Flip and Win Games Reviews
This is a great game for on the go. It's easy to pack, kids can play it by themselves, and there aren't any pieces to get lost. The object of the game is to use the flipper to get the balls into the baskets under each base and player.

Review of Educational Insights Nancy B's Science Club MoonScope and Sky
I teach astronomy, and I have a pretty sophisticated Bushnell telescope I use myself. My 7-year-old gets a little frustrated with it because it's pretty sensitive. She was so excited to get her own telescope to check out the night sky with mom!! It's very easy for her to manipulate, and she is excited every time we find new things in the sky!! The Activity Journal is very engaging, simply written, and has a lot of interesting facts & pictures to stimulate kids to explore more. I think every child should own one of these!!
To the negative reviewer...this is CLEARLY a telescope made for children and young adults. Nowhere does it claim to be a professional telescope. If you are looking for a high end telescope, you are certainly going to pay more than this list price!!
The MoonScope comes well packaged in such a manner that upon first presentation, my child was enthralled. Assembly was very easy with solid instructions and children can easily help in this regard. While I found the MoonScope well made, I do have a durability concern when used by 5-9 year olds, who can be rough on all products. The focusing knobs also do not operate that smoothly, but it does operate well enough and with a little well placed WD-40, the mechanism was much smoother. I would suggest teaching children to use this product with a little care. I did this by explaining it was really more of a scientific instrument rather than a traditional toy. They got it pretty quick. The LED light came in very handy to read the guide without ruining night vision (you will need two AAA batteries). The included journal and activity guide seem very useful and our daughter immediately took to them.
After some basic initial instruction, my 6 year old daughter was able to use the MoonScope independently. The two provided eyepieces provide varying magnificent and are surprisingly effective. The tripod is very lightweight, so it is important you instruct children to not touch the telescope once it is sighted in to the selected object. I actually attached a sandbag (used to stabilize my photography light stands) to the tripod to provide a little more stability. It seems to work. Perhaps the most important thingthe telescope actually works and works very well. Once sighted in to the moon with the higher magnifying piece, our daughter could not take her eyes off the moon. Afterwards, she went on the Internet to research the moon and look at high resolution images.
In summation, excellent product with a very high educational value.
Good things about this product:
easy to use
engaging materials/book comes along with it
seems pretty high quality and accurate
attractive price point
specifically appeals to girls
very easy to put together she put it together all by herself
Great product and a great gift for any girl interested in astronomy or science.
This is a nice little telescope. The price at Amazon is $46.00. The quality of the piece is a bit iffy. It does everything it claims to do but if you have rambunctious kids, I suspect it will not last very long. The instructions for assembly were adequate. The need for two AAA batteries could be larger on the outside packaging. However since the batteries are not necessary for use of the telescope but just to operate the red LED light, that is not a critical oversight. The LED is for use in keeping your Sky Gazer's journal.
The activity journal is quite good. It gives decent instructions and provides activities to be used with the MoonScope. It will provide a positive learning experience.
The two eyepieces provide a surprising amount of magnification. This feels like an inexpensive toy but provides a more sophisticated magnification than you would expect. If it felt a little more durable it would be five star worthy but it is still a good value for the price.

I am a big fan of my 90X MoonScope Telescope with two glass eyepieces, a moon filter, tripod and red LED that allows you to journal while protecting your night vision. You need to know that if you are an MIT Fellow on loan to NASA, this is not the industrial strength instrument you are looking for. That is NOT a problem! I was not planning on paying hundred's, and the quality is more than required to give any budding astronomer a great experience. The MoonScope is well constructed, described and accompanied by instructions which explain its usefulness to the scientific method. Whether looking at craters and mountains on the lunar surface or checking out constellations, the richness of the set is tied to the use of the included Activity Journal. Having completed suggested exercises and experiments, you then use words and drawings to document your learnings. You will be startled by your first views of the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter but be ready for some real merrymaking-with-the-moon. Identify specific named features like the Copernicus Crater, see where the lunar module landed back in 1969 near the Apennine Mountains, use your journal to record the phases and changes in the moon over the month. I'm planning on checking out phenomena highlighted on the internet and in other media. For example this June Mercury, Venus and Saturn are all visible for about an hour after sunset. I got this for my grandkids who are coming to town this July, so glad I have it early for this June's stellar fireworks!Best Deals for Educational Insights Nancy B's Science Club MoonScope and Sky
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In the days of Ipad's and advanced computer games, very rarely do we encounter a "non-electronic" children's toy that simply captivates our child's attention. This "toy" did just that. My 9 year old daughter loves this moonscope. Within minutes of receiving it she was already filling out the journal and planning what she wanted to look at that evening! She took it out the first night with her 7 year old brother and they were identifying different constellations and planets. They are already looking forward to using it hopefully tomorrow night when the weather clears up they already have it lined up outside the back window ready to go for tomorrow and have borrowed a star gazing book from the library to help them.Good things about this product:

Discount ALEX® Toys - Pretend & Play Super Sleuth Kit 41W
I purchased the Undercover Detective Activity Kit for my eight year old granddaughter. We combined it with a wig, false teeth, and a few other items in a backpack labeled "Lauren's Field Kit." It was such a huge hit with her and all the kids and adults. The uncles made up a crime scene by stealing something of hers and the aunts all helped her follow the clues. It was amazing and she still thinks it's her favorite gift of all times! We did put the fingerprint powder up for special usage as her little brother and sister aren't ready for that and I think neither was mom!
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!

I would only rate this OK. It wasn't as sturdy as I had hoped. Some of the pieces of the kit are thin cardboard. I might even just say it is thick paper. Best Microbial Organisms Slide Set, 15 Piece Deals
A good set. Interesting specimens. Good Quality. Good introduction to microscope use for kids with adult supervision. There's a "wow" factor to these slides that kids enjoy. My son is 9 yrs old.I gave this 4 stars because although the slides are well done and work well, I have been looking for some basic slides in microbiology for Science Olympiad students who need a variety of bacteria, fungus, and parasites.

Buy Educational Insights LipSync
I disagree with the other reviewer, but perhaps my situation is different. I have had these cards for about three years now. The mouth part is fun, and no, it's not perfect, but they are not what makes this set worth money. The information on the back is priceless, at least to me. My son was born with a cleft lip and palate. I bought these for speech purposes, at first. The back of the cards has detailed information on how to form each letter--where the tongue should be placed and things like that. It gave me lots of information and helped me teach him even before we started speech therapy. My son is now four and we have been learning to read (with Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons) and now these cards are helpful for two letter sounds, like "th" or "oy" and the second sound of consonants like "g" in "giraffe." I promise you your dollar store cards are not going have those. Anyway, I am back buying a second set. While my son was two he colored some of the cards all blue that are starting to be very useful now. :)

These cards are not terrible. They do have pictures that are bright and easy for children to recognize, but the part that actually shows them how their mouth is supposed to move does not really work that well. Which is fine, my son learns it all better by watching my mouth anyway, but then why spend the extra money on flash cards with the mouth? You can teach your child the mouth movements just as well,( if not better), with a cheaper set of flash cards,( you can even find them at the dollar store). It is just not worth the money to buy these special onesBest Deals for Educational Insights LipSync

Reviews of Lauri Toys Stringing Pegs and Pegboard Set
My daughter isn't so great at fine motor control so I got this for her. She loves building a "space shuttle" (I think the card looks like a barn, but who cares.) She does a great job because she is so motivated. I am concerned the pad will tear someday, but we haven't had it very long so who knows.
The main reason I am writing this review is the price. I put this in my shopping cart while I waited to decide if I wanted it or not. The price fluctuates frequently and by huge amounts. I have seen it cost anywhere from $13+ to over $20. Then it jumps just a short time later. I don't know if this is a temporary issue or not, but you may want to see if the price becomes more favorable in the next few days.
The paper cards that come with it are not the size of the foam boardas in you cannot lay the cards on top & push the pegs through the paper. But you could use a copier to make your own functional ones.
This is a peg board and lacing toy in one. The combo leads to lots of play & learning activities!

Rocks and Minerals Review
I've used the materials in this kit to teach 3rd and 4th grade kids about rocks and minerals -it is a blast! We've done a number of the suggested experiments, including identifying the different rocks and minerals using streak and hardness tests, growing crystals, etc. And, when it is all over, you have two very nice displays -one of rocks and the other of minerals. I highly recommend this kit for homeschooling and for teaching elementary school kids about earth science.

Review of Fizz Wizard and Jammin' Jelly Reaction Kit
I purchased this kit because I love to create fizzy experiments and especially science projects that can be consumed. Not only did I have fun eating what I made, I had a lot of fun making the products, and learned in detail how and why the reactions happened.
At first I thought that this kit would be educational, but not necessarily fun because science is usually overwhelming for me. I completed almost all the experiments with everything in the kit and a few things found in the kitchen (sugar, OJ, etc...).
Most younger children will need help measuring certain things, but older children and adults will be fine on their own. The instructions were very clear, step by step, and explained in detail how and why things worked.
I would recommend this kit to anyone who enjoys watching color changing, fizzy type chemical reactions. Not just kids! I'm in my early 20s and I had a blast! My 7-1/2 year old boy with Aspergers loves chemistry, and his 3-1/2 year old brother has to do whatever big brother does. And they are both having a blast! They are learning to follow directions as well as learning the science behind what they see. I know very little about science, so I'm learning a lot, too, and I find the directions easy to follow and the explanations easy to understand.

We used this as part of a party favor for a 1-year-old birthday party. They are slightly larger than other egg shakers and seemed safer than the smaller ones for this age group. We kept about 4 for ourselves and they are still in good shape 4 months later. No cracking even though our toddler has thrown them across the room a few times. Our daughter will still crawl across the room to shake one of these when she spots them in the midst of her toys.Honest reviews on Basic Beat Jumbo Egg Shaker

These jumbo shakey eggs are great, kids scramble to get them! The jumbo eggs are a bit too large to fit through a toilet paper tube, making them an unlikely choking hazard, and the packaging is marked "for all ages." They are just large enough to make them a much safer alternative (over the standard sized shakey egg) for very young kids. We gave 2 of these to our toddler about 6 months ago, and we are now ordering more to make half a dozen.
