My 19 month old loves this toy. My best friend's 13 month old loves this toy. I do have a couple problems with this toy. It does not have a volume switch and it is pretty loud. Also, I like my daughter to use it in the identification mode, but it is so easy for her to switch modes, I can't keep it on her level. She loves the song! On the plus side, it is very educational and fun for the kids. It also turns off on its own when she just drops it on the floor and walks off, which I like. Overall, I would recommend this toy!

I bought this toy for my 4yr. old son to help him learn his shapes and colors. He likes the song that it plays and it keeps his attention. The only thing that I found wrong with it is that it is a little too loud. So I put some tape over the speaker to make it a little quiter. Other than that this is a great toy for toddlers and preschoolers alike.

My daughter has all three of the smart sticks (letters, numbers, and colors/shapes) and they are IDEAL toys. They have several settings that play a song, tell her about what button she pushed (this is a ), or ask her to find a letter/number/shape/color. They also have a switch for english or spanish. My daughter LOVES these and has learned everything on them at a much younger age than I would have expected her to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone who believes in educational toys. Also very durable, they frequently get dropped with no issues and even got run through the washer and worked again when dried out.

My daughter enjoys playing with this toy, and treats it like a phone (as it resembles a cell phone). She likes pushing the buttons and listening to the music, but she holds it up to her ear while it's playing music. The problem with this is that it is very loud, and there is no sound adjustment. It's so loud you can hear it rather well from upstairs. It's a good idea, especially with the whole bilingual education it provides, but I wish it had a volumn adjustment so it wouldn't cause any negative effects on her ears. I wouldn't advise this toy for kids under 3 who don't understand not having loud objects so close to their ears.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It's soft and green, it rattles, and it's a dinosaur, a toy which even an infant can safely lie and play with because Gund makes it durable.

But this is a "teaching" toy: press the "start" note and it counts, lighting up as it goes, which will probably thrill even the smallest kid.

My take: a stuffed toy should be a "lovey", and not electronic. Parents and siblings teach babies to count to ten on their fingers and toes. That human interaction is essential, and children shouldn't be expecting electronics' stimulation every minute. Also, the sing-song counting will be very annoying to parents, very quickly.

It's no surprise that Gund has moved in this direction, since everyone wants to ensure their kids are ready for standardized tests at an early age. But, like many toys we've gotten and given over the years, this one is best played with as a stuffed toy, with the switch "off" or batteries removed.

I do too" with a somewhat annoying voice, then it counts to 10. As it counts to ten it lights up the five spikes on its back one at a time (1 through 5), then turns them off one at a time (6 through 10). Then it roars and laughs. In the background it plays the tune to Ten Little Indians. That's it.

My 18 month old and 4 year old weren't very interested.

I imagine this could become a beloved comfort animal to a toddler, but I would hope it wouldn't since it can only be surface cleaned to keep it functional. No stuffed animal can endure extended child love and stay any level of clean. On the other hand, losing the song and lights wouldn't be a big devastation since they don't do much and "teach" something a kid will master soon enough. However, as a cuddly stuffed animal, it will be a hit with the right child. Bright colors, happy face, it's a charming toy.

He laughes when the Dino says "Roar" after counting to 10 and started saying "roar" along with it. The fins that light up with each number are a great idea. I had been afraid that the velcro holding the "voice box" might not be strong enough, but that has not been a problem at all. A GREAT gift for the toddler who is just starting to talk and has not learned how to count yet.

The bright, alternating lights are great for helping her students get into a rhyming process for counting, and some of the kids have taken to just carrying it around because of its "snuggle ness".

I think it would be a great tool for teaching young children to begin counting. I don't know how well it will hold up since the materials seem a bit flimsy, but so far, so good.

My boys love this silly tv show, so we hoped they would like this game. The v reader game does a great job of incorporating fun activities with learning. The humor is a relief for kids and adults alike, it is funny and the boys repeat phrases from the game. It's easy for them to play independently, only occasionally do they need assistance. Teaches them letters and spatial organization with shapes.

My son is 4 years old and very special needs. He loves to be able to lay across the drum and feel the vibrations and it is sturdy enough to allow him to endlessly climb up on it and lay on it he weighs 38 pounds and has been climbing on it for 6 months now. I would give the actual product 5 stars, but the packaging was damaged. It arrived bent in the middle and the roll of paper was bent as well, so there is a crease right through the center. I took pictures of the packaging and paper before I unrolled, thinking I would have to return it. But once I rolled it out on the floor and taped it down, it was fine. I used it for a Valentine's theme photoshoot, and it photographed so beautifully! The crease is not even visible in the photo.

This is a thin piece of paper and I did not expect it to last long when I bought it. But for the price, it is a great value. I cut the roll in half to get two 6' pieces, so I will be able to extend the life of the product, but I don't expect it to last for more than a few sessions.

I bought this roll for use in my studio. It is much thinner than I expected, but it was relatively inexpensive so it would be easy to replace. I taped it in place with painters tape, and as long as you peel slowly, it comes off without ripping the paper. It will last a few sessions since I mainly shoot infants and small children without shoes, and then I can roll another use out of it. It photographs beautifully.

Edited to add: 4' would seem like plenty, but I had trouble getting two tweens to fit into the picture with it, so it's not wide enough for families or bigger kids. Perfect for babies and a single toddler, though.

I purchased this product for my grandson. He enjoys it very much as does the adults helping him with it. I would advise that the tiny cars are too small for younger toddlers. This toy should be used by children 3 and up. Since it is colorful,I am able to talk about the colors with my grandson. We also count the cars when they go on and come off the ramp. Overall, it is a good buy for the money I spent. However, I purchased it on sale for $9.99. I don't reccomend spending any more than that for this gift.

When I recieved this item I waited a few days before I opened the box. I had a few moments to myself so I though, "I'll go put it together." When I opened the box, I was shocked. No need to put it together since the item was about as big as a notebook piece of paper. In the picture it looked as though it would come up to my knees. I am not sure it comes up to my 2 year olds knees. For the price of this item I would think it would be way bigger. It has 3 ramps, but since the size is so small it doesn't take long to get to the bottom. The cars are about the size of a cell phone sim card with wheels. The pro of this item is that it is sturdy.

I bought this a few weeks ago for my vehicle obsessed 16 month old -it was a total hit! He was interested right away and spent a good 15-20 minutes when we first opened it playing with the the little cars in the track. He then started stacking the cars into the cabs and beds of his various other trucks, and rolling them around the floor. Weeks later he still plays with the track and especially the cars just about every day. I don't know what it is about the cars in particular that he loves so much ... the fact that they're the perfect size for his little hands? that they roll so smoothly? that they're colorful and have a good weight to them? ... I'm not sure, but he is REALLY into them.

Another poster complained that the track and vehicles were smaller than she thought, and that that was disappointing. I actually bought this because it is scaled a bit smaller than other similar tracks. We live in a condo and I try to keep the big huge toys to a minimum, so for us the size is perfect! Fits nicely on a shelf or in a cubby, and looks cute too -not an obnoxious plastic monstrosity, or garishly painted.

I liked the idea of this toy for my 7 month old son as an alternative to the ball ramps that help with eye coordination. He is an infant, but I knew we'd use it under supervision only, so no safety concerns. They do say this toy is for ages 18 months+, but I really think it should be age 3+ because the cars have wheels that could likely break off under the usage of a rough 18 month old and I think they may have magnets in them. Certainly metal.

Aside from that safety concern, I'm a bit disappointed. As mentioned by other users, the cars can flip incorrectly, turning sideways and jamming the track or sometimes just flying off the ramp. It kind of defeats the purpose as there's no real way to control the speed or accuracy of the cars. When they do go correctly, they go so fast that it's kind of anticlimactic for even my 3.5 year old.

Ways this toy could be made AWESOME:

1) wider cars that are more fitted to the width of the track so they aren't as prone to go sideways AND/OR

2) heavier cars would be more likely to stay on the track and maximize the fun of watching them go down the ramp and flipping at each end.

3) It would be scientific, perhaps to weight the four cars differently so kids could compare the way differently weighted cars went down the ramp.

On the pro-side, the ramp structure is both light-weight and sturdy and it's small enough to make it easy to store (fits perfectly on our Ikea Expedit cubby shelves).

I do like this toy over-all, just think I had greater expectations for it beyond a quick car ramp. I'm sure my kids will love it just the same.

Learning Resources Prepared Slides Combination Set, 48 Specimens provides young scientists the opportunity to view the world in a new and different way. For a reasonable cost ($16 for me...) I'm able to share something fun and interesting with my daughter which elicits "look at this Mom..." and "what do you think a 'blank' looks like under the microscope?"

Upon close examination these are glass prepared slides. Originally I thought they weren't, but after using them a bit I noted that there is a lightweight cardboard cover over the slide to identify the specimens on each slide. Not 'excellent' slides with regards to clarity, but certainly a great starter set: easy to use, simple things to view under any magnification.

In all you receive two boxes (set one and two) which include samples labeled as follows.

-Animals: cat hair, canary feather, dog hair, sheep hair.

-Pollens & Spore: tulip pollen, leaf spore, pine tree pollen, orange pollen.

-Tiny Creatures: common red sponge, angora rabbit hair, ant, mouse fur.

Couldn't wait to get these, but my daughter and I were very disappointed with them.They're dusty and don't have enough variety.

Who wants to see camel hair, dog hair, cat hair, sheep hair, mouse hair, etc., if there's no real distinction between them?

Also the insect slides consisted of bugs that weren't flattened properly, so what you get to see is a lump that's supposed to be an ant, another lump that's a fruitfly, and so on.

How hard is it to lay the ant flat on the slide? If it's hard for Learning Resources, they shouldn't be in the business of making slides.

I feel completely ripped off, and I feel bad that my kid doesn't get to enjoy what could've been an awesome educational experience.

Great for instructional purposes, a good variety of objects, well-mounted, but the slides are quite dusty. Each specimen looks like it's floating in outer space, surrounded by a field of stars. They were probably created in an environment with poor air quality.

I was pleasantly surprised with the specimen especially after reading some of the reviews. The specimen are made well, were not dusty, boxed well and labeled nicely. I found that some people did not care for some of the slides. I thought all of them were incredible!! All the hair slides do look different, not all the same as someone stated in their review. If you have a duo-scope microscope (I have a My First Lab Duo-Scope Love it!) that allows you to view the slides with light from above and light from below you will see major differences in detail. If you look at the slides with the light from below, some look a bit boring. But, if you use the light from above the slides the detail is amazing. My husband and I checked out all the slides before the kids and we were amazed! Even the hair samples looked great. We especially loved the ant slide, what detail!!! I think that the differences in what other reviewers saw have to do with the microscope being used.

The 48 specimens come in two boxes of 6 slides each which are 6 different categories. Each slide contains 4 specimens.

The slides for the first box are as follows:
