Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I picked up this sweet Photo Bug Electronic Learning Toy to give to my 2 yr old granddaughter at Christmas. She lives 1000 miles away from the rest of the family, so I thought I would put photos of her grandparents, aunt, cousins, etc. and have each leave a sweet message with the photo. I want her to understand that she is part of a bigger family, and thought this would be an excellent way for her to get to know her long distance family. This product is very colorful and would fit beautifully in any nursery/child's room. It is sturdy and should stand up under the tough play of a 2 year old. I like the fact that when not used by the child as a "book", it can be set on a dresser as a photo frame. This is just a perfect gift for any grandparent to give to a young grandchild.

I ordered this product because my husband's family doesn't live nearby, and it's a great way for my daughter to get comfortable with their faces as well as their voices even though she only sees them a few times per year.

This "photo album" is cute and colorful. Little ones love opening and closing it. There are tabs on each page that crackle etc, to get them even more interested.

There's a cute giggle when you open/close the album. After you put batteries in, recording the voices and inserting the photos isn't too difficult. If your little one still likes to chew on things, the photos are fairly safe from drool although it is not waterproof.

I would recommend this for almost any baby or young child, and especially if you have family that live far away!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The toy looks just like the photos, so you can see that yes, it is very colorful and fun looking. The tabs which stick out from each frame have a very crinkly substance inbetween the fabric which makes them fun to play with. Frankly, these generated as much fascination as the talking pictures. The from cover has a small mirror your child can look into I used this to say "this is Debbie" and carried that through with "this is Grandma" etc. The body of the bug is where you install 3 batteries. The end cap unscrews, which I thought was a good idea so a child doesn't inadvertently pull the tail off and the batteries fall out. In order to put the photos into the frame the instructions tell you to stick a screwdriver into the corner of the frame closest to the bug body and lift up. You have to jam that screwdriver in almost half inch, which I was afraid would bust the frame..when you angle the screwdriver handle away from the bug body the idea is the screwdriver will lift up a little latch and this latch also propels the clear plastic photo protectors up. OK, if you can successfully do this, pull the plastic out and reinsert the plastic you're much more capable than I am. I could not make the process work for me. I ended up grabbing the plastic insert with the thumb and forefinger of one hand and 'forcing' it up, past the latch. I was able to pull this up about 1 inch (although you could have taken the entire plastic insert out, I didn't want to risk not being able to get it back in) I inserted my photos which you should have trimmed to a 4" wide by 6" length maximum, I trimmed mine a tad bit less so I wouldn't have bulk at the sides. The photo sleeve went back in with no problem. Overall I do like the photo bug, and my borrowed young child enjoyed it very much. It was not difficult to record sound. I would recommend, especially for grandparents etc who live far away. The flaw for me was the release latch, which I could not get to work. Be aware that you can pull the plastic photo sleeve up using gentle pressure and you will save yourself alot of frustration. I rated the toy rwo stars for education as I'm not sure how educational it is. I suppose you could talk about colors?...I felt it was more to keep your child aware of relatives they don't often see.

My 19-month-old niece LOVES looking at photographs, whether they be on an iPhone, hanging on the hall, or in a photo album. She has a kid photo album that she keeps in the car to look at during road trips, but that has nothing on this photo toy. With this album you can have the people whose pictures are displayed in the album record messages that play when the child looks at the photos. Each audio clip can be up to eight seconds in length, which really is plenty of time. Also, the toy itself is quite durable and easy for a child to use. I do wish you could include more than eight photos, but what are you gonna do? It's pretty awesome overall, and a big hit with the little one!!!

We bought this for our 4 1/2-year old son and we live in MA. There is one button (unlabeled) for CT/MA/RI/NH/VT. At least Maine got its own button. Ridiculous. How am I supposed to educate my son about where we live when every time he asks "Where's this?" for New England locations, I have to point to the same button???

Also, the white letters on each state are applied cheaply. California was already peeling off when we pulled it out of the box.

I bought the Britannica Talking USA Puzzle for my 8 year old nephew and he loves it! The colors are bright and the "talking" part is fantastic. It names the state, the state capital and the state motto for all 50 states. It also sings America the Beautiful and says the Pledge of Allegiance. It's a great gift and comes with a free subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica Online for Kids. It's well worth the $.

This product is great for everyone, not just our kids. Even my hubby and I have remembered some state capitals we'd forgotten. (It's been a long time since we were in 4th grade geography!) The fact that it's a puzzle really helps our kids learn the locations of each state. The manufacturer must have already fixed the mispronunciation that one reviewer had in theirs because the sound effects in ours are clear and correctly pronounced. This is really a cool toy to help our grade schoolers get a jump on their education, which if you ask me, is a wonderful perk in any toy! I love that all the pieces store in the drawer too.

We bought this for my 3 year old at christmas and he loves it!! It says the pledge of allegiance and sings america, the beautiful. He has almost memorized both! I love how when he puts the puzzle piece in, it says the state's name, nickname, capitol. My son is picking up the names fast and knows which state we live in. I thought maybe he would get bored with it, but I think the sound effects help keep him interested. I think this is a great gift if your child loves puzzles!

We love our map puzzle. I bought it for my first grade classroom and now my own toddlers are using it to learn the states. It has lasted for years, and is a great teaching tool. The only flaw I can see is that it has a handle, so kids want to pick it up like a suitcase to carry it. But, then all of the puzzle pieces fall out!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I picked this product for my one year old grandson as he loves trucks. We took it out of the box and started it into the gyrations that it can do. Great fun! My grandson was entranced. His eyes never left the truck and he was laughing and couldn't wait to take it out for a spin. The truck engages the child with banter and interactive requests for which it coordinates sounds and gymnastics. I really like this product and rate it very high. I rated it a four star because, the toy has a more limited set of "events" than a $50 item should have in my opinion. What it does, it does very well.

However, this is my CAUTION: Do not let a younger child handle this toy by themselves. My grandson loves to drive his trucks around the house. When you push this truck from behind, there is no stability and this is necessary for the truck to do its flips and such. But for the little one pushing, the truck flips into their face and "bang" a cut lip. We put the truck away for another 6 months to see how he can do with it later. This is not the fault of the vehicle or the manufacturer. It was our fault for not realizing why the age limit was set.

I think that with a couple of more months of walking under his belt, he will be able to play with this truck again. Until the little accident, we thought that we had a tremendous winner for our youngster. I still think that we have a winner, but we will have to wait just a little longer for those smiles.

He just loves the way Chuck moves, talks, tumbles and he can fill his truck up, too. He's pretty cool, actually. He says a ton of phrases and sings! Lucas likes to sing along with him and I find it impressive that he sings faster the faster he moves, neat trick! Lucas loves that he somersaults and flips all around, so of course, being a boy, keeps trying to find ways to put Chuck into predicaments he CAN'T get out of, but he has yet to trick him! It's fun to watch him play with his new truck and go back and forth with it, it keeps him pretty busy for awhile, and not many toys do that with a 3 year old! Highly recommended!

That's right. I bribed my way into my grandson's affection. He LOVES this truck. He's been into dumptrucks for a time now. His second birthday featured dumptrucks on his cake so I thought this would be a winner and I was right.

This truck does everything. It spins, does back flips and moves along with the voice. It matches it's speed to the child. He gets so much pleasure out of it. I love to hear him laughing and devising new obstacles for the truck. He thinks it's a little magical. It does so many amazing things.

It's extremely durable. It's run into walls, cabinets, trees and a dog and keeps on chugging. He hauls dirt in it and other cars. He moves things from spot to spot. It really engages his imagination and his sense of fun.

When I was a child, I played with Tonka trucks made out of durable steel. They came in all sizes. In fact, my parents still have them. They have been stored in their home's attic. When I grew older, I played with remote control toys, mostly race cars. I lost interest in them about twenty-five years ago when I moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. I was excited to receive from the Amazon Vine Program the Tumblin' Chuck from Tonka. I was glad to learn the child in me had never died; he had only become dormant for a little time.

Tumblin' Chuck arrived with demo batteries already installed. However, you may want to put fresh ones in before giving him as a gift because mine weakened quickly with use. I was thrilled to put Tumblin' Chuck through all his moves. (Please watch the short video that I made with my Apple iPhone 4.) He performs the best when he is played with on a hard, flat surface such as the tennis court where I filmed him. He constantly failed to correctly perform his somersaults when I operated him on my apartment's shag carpet and kept asking for my help to upright him.

I think Tumblin' Chuck is adorable and easy to operate. I scanned his operating instructions into my computer, including the instructions for replacing batteries, and posted them to Amazon's website. A close friend of mine, Amy, works at Tiny Tikes Daycare Center. I allowed her children to play with Tumblin' Chuck. She told me most all of the children, including the girls, enjoyed playing with him. The girls thought he was cute. He has a sweet voice (one whose volume cannot be decreased or increased) that matches his face, giving him an unique personality. I expected Tumblin' Chuck to be severely damaged when Amy returned it to me but he still appeared relatively new, except for a few scuff marks on the face.

If your child enjoys playing with dump trucks, then I recommend Tonka's interactive Tumblin' Chuck. It is durable and fun. I especially enjoyed watching him perform his somersaults and "exercises"--push-ups, sit-ups and jumping jacks. Perhaps Tumblin' Chuck will be a good role model for children when it comes to exercising. I received a workout just pushing him across the tennis court and chasing after him with my iPhone. The neighbors must've thought I was crazy. One couple came to play tennis and I was having so much fun that I didn't notice their arrival. After apologizing, I explained to them that I was conducting a review on Tumblin' Chuck for Amazon.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have a love, hate relationship with Tumblin' Chuck. My kids love him. So much so, that they routinely fight over their turn with him. The voice and music is annoying, to the point were I don't want to be in the room while the kids play with him even when they aren't fighting over him. And at 3 and 5 years old, the kids can't fully grasp how to make the truck flip over when they want it to.

That said, this truck is extremely durable. It has been thrown down slides and staircases without injury. The kids have attempted to ride it and it still runs well.

While I'm not a fan of this toy at all, it can survive my children and it makes them happy and will probably appeal to other kids their ages.

OK, I admit it, I vacuum up a lot of Legos. When I notice I've done this, I try to go through the dust cup and fish them out. However, sometimes, when it is really full, I just can't bring myself to do it. This leads me back to the title of this review, you can never have enough wheels, or axles for that matter. When you buy a Lego set that has a car in it, they don't give you extra wheels, so if you have vacuuming *issues* like I do, you NEED this set.

This set comes with 3 different sized wheels (and hubs), I know the description says 4, but it is wrong. You will also find fixed sized axles, and half axles that can be placed on a car as far apart as you want them to be so that you can make cars of varying widths. In addition, you will find windshields, steering wheels, flat plates for creating the base of the car and little angled pieces for putting on the sides of the tires to make it look like they have fenders.

You will need additional Lego pieces for creating the rest of the car(s). For most of us parents that won't be a problem, just lift up the couch and sweep out all the Lego pieces that have migrated under there. I'm sure you will find enough to create the rest of the bodies for these cars. The enclosed pieces are enough to make 12 chassis at one time. In addition to the crazy cars my boys have created using these pieces, they have also used this set for replacement parts for all their police and fire vehicles from the Lego City sets.

Pay close attention to the product picture so you know exactly what you are getting. If you do not have lots of Legos already at your house and you are looking for a complete set for building vehicles, you may want to look at a different product. Here is one that may interest you: LEGO Bricks and More Fun with Vehicles 4635. Set 4635 won't make as many vehicles at once, but it is a complete set with instructions for all the vehicles shown on the box. The Lego Wheel set is more for those that are looking to create their own designs and for those looking for replacement parts.

Remember, you are never too old to play with Legos!

My sons (ages 6, 4, 3) enjoy creating new cars for their Lego men. Or, they simply attach wheels to a Lego man so he can roll. I think these are great because kids can use their creativity to build simple cars without the blueprints of more complex Lego sets.

My hubby tested the kit last night and made lots of vehicles to put in stockings and said it was a great kit. We first discovered Snap Circuits at a friends house and the kids (ages 3-6) all enjoyed it so much that we put it on our son's wishlist for the holidays. When he opened the Snap Circuits Green Energy set up, he immediately began to do some of the activities in the instruction manual. My first grader loves math so much that we decided to enrich his education. We bought both second and third grade brainquests, and these are great fun. We read them while he is getting read for bed and traveling around in the car. He asks for them at night, so either he wants to stay up longer or he really is enjoying them.

This item was purchased for a child with autism who's mom could not find the "red flute" he so desperately wanted. I purchased 2 because he would normally take them apart. I have to agree with the other review what's with the bunny going "boing boing"? That's ridiculous. And my son also had trouble pulling the handle for a while.

I admit though, my son likes this toy and it is kinda nice to have two different sides so there are more animals. However, I really wish there was a way to turn off the quiz function. Or if the quiz section was only on one side. This toy appeals to a lot of children who are too young to get the quiz thing, and it's a little disruptive when they get into the groove of learning about animal sounds (even the made-up ones) and all of a sudden the thing is asking them questions. And you either have to fix it by pointing the arrow to the correct animal yourself, or wait until it turns itself off. I mean, I'm sure it's a nice feature for kids who are big enough to understand how to do it, but I just really would rather not deal with it sometimes.

My daughter received this for her first birthday and just loves it. She is not one to just sit in a lap but when my husband gets home from work, she goes and picks it up and brings it to him so they can sit in the chair and play farmer says. She loves to point at the animals and thinks the music is great. No problems pulling the lever (also great fun). The toy has been dropped many a time and my daughter also thinks it is great fun to stand on it, No problems to speak of.

As many reviews as I write, I wish I would've read the others listed on here. This toy is NOT the toy you remember from the 80's. It's cheap, small, flimsy and the paint is sloppy. The handle is too hard for toddlers to pull all the way down in one fluid motion, and unless you do just that, no sound comes out. In other words, unless you pull the handle down quickly and completely, the spinner moves without making any noise kind of difficult when you have the motor skills of a 20 month old.

What I was looking for was the old toy I had growing up, where you'd pull the handle and the spinner would land on an animal and give that noise "The cow says 'Moo!'" for instance. This toy has goofy sentence structure and for some reason they felt if necessary to incorporate the "quiz" square where the voice repeatedly asks you to find an animal until you physically turn the spinner to that animal and pull the handle. Again, too confusing for a toddler who just wants to hear animal sounds associated with pictures of animals. I wouldn't buy this toy for any of my younger children and am so disappointed. On top of being plain dumb, it's cheaply and poorly made. Don't waste your money as for me, I'm going look for a well-preserved original at a yard sale or bidding site.

I bought this because my mom was desperate for the classic version that I played with as a kid. This isn't it. The toy is smaller and the handle is so stiff my 15 month old gets pissed trying to make it talk. Also, in the interest of cramming more animals in there are 'sounds' that are non-sense like the bunny who goes 'boing' are you kidding me? Use your cash to buy something GOOD for the baby in your life.

We used this in our homeschool science studies and found it to be durable, good quality and easy to use. The macro scope is used for looking at bigger items such as pollen, skin, newsprint, plants, fur, & insects. (We also bought a good biological microscope for studying cells.) We all, from the 4 year-old on up, have enjoyed this microscope; it has held up for 10 years and is still in fine condition.

I researched microscopes for a month before settling on the Discovery as a birthday present for my grandson. My primary complaint is that the 40x (400x with eyepiece) came with an internal flaw which should have been caught in quality control. The packaging of the contents was also so buried in sticky tape that I suspect it may have been a repack. I'm awaiting an RMA as I write this.

Design-wise, the upper stage illumination is via a fixed acrylic light pipe which works beautifully with the 40x and 100x combined objectives. The 40x and 100x imaging couldn't be better. When the 400x objective is in place, however, the lens barrel blocks almost all the light, making it nearly useless as a light source. Under-stage illumination is excellent.

Structurally, the microscope is first-rate, ideal for an 8-year-old boy. Controls are big and bold and it seems damage-proof, one of the reasons I chose it. However, the accompanying instructions are aimed at a far older reader, are superficial, and are preoccupied with advanced concepts like staining instead of the very basics (simple things that are fun to look at-house dust, salt). The token sample slides are of herbal and wood cells, a neural cell, and, of all things, mummy wrap, all subjects far beyond the interests or understanding of 8-year-old boys, who, in this age of diminishing attention spans, want something that can be comprehended intuitively, set up immediately, with a high WOW! factor, and instructions and peripheral materials aimed at a second-grader. But vials of methyl blue and gum media?

I'm also curious as to why this product is considered a "toy," when the manufacturer's description indicates a more sophisticated instrument intended as an introduction to scientific research and exploration, which it would be but for the defect and other drawbacks mentioned above.

I bought one for my daughter a couple if years ago and it works great so when my grandson wanted one I ordered another one. It is fairly easy to use and has clear focus I would recommend this to anyone with a child that loves to explore and learn

This wasn't what I thought it was. I thought it was a CSI kit, but I guess it's okay and think I'll like it anyway. This was a gift to myself as a mystery novelist after having finished some serious medical treatments.

I highly recommend this Leap Frog Little Leaps game, Discovering Creative Expression, which features the Disney princesses Ariel and Cinderella. Preschoolers, and even toddlers and kindergarteners, will enjoy the music and learning games. They are presented as colorful, engaging Disney cartoons, and the overall mood is very gentle, cheerful, and pleasant. The different activities use the Toddler Mode of the activity controller, with its joystick directional navigation and buttons to push.

Activity 1 is "A Sea Friend Sing Along" with Ariel. The music is catchy, and kids are encouraged to both sing along and act out the words, mimicking different sea creatures. According to the booklet, this activity introduces music and singing, movement and dance, sea animal names, sequencing, and decision making. And it's fun, to boot!

Activity 2 is "Colorful Crystals," also with Ariel. In round one, the child moves the directional controller up, down, left or right to choose among the different colored clams to find hidden crystals. In round two, the child chooses which color crystals Ariel will use to make a necklace, and pushes the button to "help" string them. This game teaches colors, social behavior, sequencing and decision making.

Activity 3 with Cinderella is "The Mouse Cake." In round one, your little one selects the icing colors for the cake, and sees the color that results when they are mixed. In round two, Cinderella begins to draw a decoration on the cake. Kids can guess what it will be, then push the button to see more. Something is missing from the drawing, and kids are asked to guess that, too. This activity introduces colors, color mixing, social behavior, sequencing and decision making.

Activity 4 is "Dancing to the Music," again featuring Cinderella. Round one has four mice demonstrating dance steps to help Cinderella practice them: a sway, curtsy, twirl, and waltz. Children use the joystick to choose a mouse and dance move, and see videos of children dancing after each one. In Round 2, the child helps Cinderella practice the dance moves, using the directional controller again. This activity is great for getting kids learning and exercising along with their cartoon pals and real kids. The booklet says it teaches music and singing, movement and dance, social behavior, and decision making.

This game was a favorite for our daughter at ages three and four, and she wasn't even that interested in the Disney princesses. I think the catchy songs, the ability to control the action occurring, and the cartoon characters made it appealing to her. If the games are played straight through perhaps the time is shorter than other Little Leaps games, as other commenters said; I never noticed this, but realized it may have been because my daughter kept choosing to replay the activities multiple times, she liked them so much!

We ordered this for my daughter and I was surprised when she played it how short it was. Both the princess have 2 games each, yes there are only 2 princesses in this game. The music for the games was catchy (for the toddler and annoying for the parents) and kept her attention.

I don't know if it's a bug but I wanted to select and repeat an activity so I selected my activity and chose repeat play and it only played the first 1/2 of the activity and I KNOW the activity was longer than that. Minor flaw but it's annoying.

All in all a great attention holding game for your little princess.
